I saw Sammy preform in London with Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli just before he tragically passed away. Sinatra and Minelli were fantastic but watching Sammy preform live just blew me away! Physically he was short in stature but to watch him on stage, his talent was huge. Sammy was one if the greatest entertainers and a class act.

He really fought hard early on, and his efforts paid off in a big way. It's really intriguing to hear part of his life story with Arsenio Hall. Still a life lesson that should be taught to younger audiences.

The glass eye looks very realistic...On a more important matter though, Sammy gave the best explanation I ever heard about his being labeled as an "Uncle Tom" or "acting white"...People say Barack is an "Uncle Tom", but that's not true...There isn't one way to be black or white or yellow or red...People are all different and we're all shaped by our experiences and culture and we're all socialized differently, to one degree or another...It's time to put this "Oreo Cookie" label behind us.

But you know what it did during those formative years that we did not even know was happening it impressed in our minds we are all the same together if you leave two babies together and not teach them hate they will grow up loving and respecting one another. Sammy was a major major reason Blacks in America and race relations began to improve and the issue of discrimination rose to the surface more so than any other. The unfairness injustice against our Afro American brothers and sisters had to be addressed and corrected. We have come such a long long way with much distance left to travel we will get there. God Bless Sammy, Frank, Dean, for there bravery to stand up against foolish hatred of a skin tone. We are all together in this day race called life we need one another to get through it.
