Buy or make a viscometer, it will open your eyes. I know that a lot of people feel the way you do. Another one is to test a 5w-40 & a 5w- 30 when cold. People think they will both flow the same when cold temps come. Not so, the 5w-30 flows much better when it's bone chilling cold out.
For my Honda SP125cc BS6 bike I am using 5W 30 engine oil at Honda authorised service centre. My question is for how many kilometres should I change the engine oil? In the service book it is showing for every 5000 kilometres we should change it. But I want to know exactly.
My car only takes 5w-30 But I live in a hot ass State what it's hot all the time and I accidentally put two quarts of 10w-30 and two quarts of 5w-30. My car does misfire and struggle under heavy loads and does terrible and hot weather. So I didn't really noticed difference when accidentally putting 10w-30 in a 5w-30 only motor. And I live in a very hot state.
In summer, using a higher weight is better than using a higher weight in winter. And vice versa for the cold. When it’s cold out you need maximum flow rate at start up, and that requires a thinner oil (the lower the first number the thinner the oil)
Even if you’re Toyota only recommends 5w-30 in all conditions, I promise you’ll be perfectly fine using 10w-30 in the summer. Make sure you switch to 5w-30 in the winter if you’re close to the mileage date
The 40 stands for 40 degrees so if you want a slightly more durable 5 weight (5w) then the 5w40 is 10 degrees less sensitive to the temperature breakdown process.
So imma not panic because I was stupid and avoided the voice of God and bought the wrong kind awesome thank you!! Always ask God for help then believe it to be the right way🙏🤌
For high temperatures, the both 5w30 and 10w30 are the same
Nope they aren't.. check the charts
@@akmasn9429 Pennzoil ultra platinum viscosity index between 5w30 & 10w30 was a different of 0.01

I'm in Africa, especially somalia 🇸🇴 , therefore, 10w30 is applicable the weather of my country
I use 5W-30 from October to May and 10W-30 from May to October.
VERY good THANKS REGARDS for SHARING
