Great Video! My 2018 did this when staying at the beach. Theft display and honking outside my neighbor's bedroom window. Turns out the humidity and salt gummed up the striker and latch. Cleaned and lubed both and it went away. That was 2022 and no alarm yet. I got lucky. Keeping this video bookmarked for when it finally goes out. Thank you!
My 2017 Silverado all the sudden is saying “Theft Attempted” the alarm beeps 3 times when I unlock the truck. Now it’s saying the hood is open when it’s latched shut. The alarm is going off at random times also. Hoping this fixes my alarm problem!
@@JB-hs6km so even though it ohm tested correctly it was still a bad switch? Having the same issue in my 19’ Silverado, tested the hood sensor and it showed the same #s as yours did.. maybe the sensor is intermittently sending a bad reading?

Nice video!! I picked one up at the stealership because they had it in stock and I didn’t feel like waiting for one.. 10 minute job
Having this same problem with my 2018 Chevy Trax. I was wondering how the latch worked. Looks exactly the same. Will be ordering a new one.
Thank you sir . I was already wondering if anyone bought one from rock.
Having same issue, replaced latch with new one from dealership problem still isn’t fixed
thank you

Just went and checked the Ohms and it read 750 open and 2350 closed.
I am having this issue currently, did you resolve your issue by chance?
@@JB-hs6km did you figure it out? Broken ground wires from engine to body or frame ground wire/strap can supposedly be the culprit too..?
@@mdubz101 it was the hood latch, $80 at the dealership. Took about 10 minutes to install.

Nice video. Alert was starting to annoy me.
I just changed mine on a 2011gmc, to me this is something else that is useless to repair
