Yes another great video. I like that you work from home which means you take pride in your work and your overhead cost are lower for you and your customers. Thank you 🇺🇸
Good video ~ I went ahead and took out the air box bracket ( 3 10mm bolts) made it a bit easier & one thing I also did , was replaced the ac line flat gaskets & transmission line o rings , yea know ( just in case they were damaged.
I have the exact same problem.Very good video.I am 1st going to take the condenser out and Aluminum weld the crack. If that doesn't work I will buy a new one.Readers do not buy a GM Dealer condenser, you will get the same leak as before in a few years.I had a warrenty replacement,3 years ago.Same exact leak now. What a bummer.I call this a GM service shop money maker.
Excellent video. My bird hunting rig has needed this for a while, and you took all the mystery for me. I'm looking forward to cool air on the way out to the field! Thanks!
Awesome vid and it saved me a lot of money. My only issue was getting those top hoses off. Mine didn't just pull out so easily. I used a pair of channel locks to grip them (without damaging or crimping them) and tapped the side of the channel locks outward with a hammer. Worked like a charm.
Thanks, man. This video really helped me out tonight with my condenser replacement. I'll know tomorrow if it's repaired when I go get the freon filled. 😂
I just changed mine AC condenser.. it took me around 5 hours by my self.. mechanic made an estimate for $ 700 part cost 220 so I save 480 I did it today Sunday..
Great video, I am going to tackle this when the condenser and gauges arrive, I am buying everything through the links you provided. Where is the link to the video how to recharge the system after the condenser swap?
Have you had any issues or problems with the AC Condenser you listed? I am getting ready to repair my fathers 2015 GMC Sierra and I was trying to determine the best replacement part to order? Thanks for the great video
Where do you... and when do you put in... and how much PAG 46 oil do you put in? How come there are tons of videos on the unit replacement, but the corresponding information to the fine details are equally important!! Also the tranny fluid... rarely is this mentioned, and I have to do mine, but with the amount of videos explaining the R&R ... I can't find any two videos the same about talking about recharging and the importance of the other two fluids. PLEASE HELP!! I NEED TO DO MINE ASAP!
Just ran into problem in a 2018 Chev 1/2 ton. On warranty luckily. Hope they do as good a job as you do. Lots of details that need to be attended to. Dealer never mentioned a recall.
I just received my spectra Condenser and I hounastly couldn't be more disappointed. I haven't even installed it and just by looking at it I can say that it's not going to last long because this Condenser is literally held together with tacks. Everything from the drier to the mounting tabs. As a fabricator I can tell you that if aluminum objects are just tacked together it is very very weak. Atleast the ac delco one had small stitch welds. Im thinking about either putting welds on it myself or returning it. But im not sure if the welding it will void the warranty
Great video ...Can you check the link you posted? It seems like it's not the same condenser you replaced yours with. The one that pops up seems weaker than the one you used. Thank you
@BoostedMotorsports agree with @ANTHONY31077 it seems like the link to the Amazon condenser is with the three tack welds. Can you confirm the one installed (with the solid welds) is the same link? Thanks!
Great video John. Good explanation of how to change it out yourself. I wonder how much the shop rate on a job like that is. How much was the condenser? Thx
That windshield wiper fluid reservoir area messed my wrist/arm up. It sucked, but now I went to the sand dunes off roading and my AC is out again. So I think I cracked the welds again. 😭
I have an 04 Silverado in about once or twice a year the AC blows hot on the driver side and blows cold on the passenger side usually when it’s the hottest day of the year and I’m driving down the road so I pull over turn the car off and on, and usually it goes back on But if it doesn’t, I turn the motor off. I take both sides of the battery off for 10 minutes and then turn on the headlights. Keep the headlights on with the battery cables off for 10 minutes. At least let the access millivolts drain out of the system out of the computer system, turn the headlights off put the battery cables back on and it should work
Same thing with my 2016 Silverado. What brand condenser are you installing. I have and AC DC Aluminum welder will try to weld the crack. But I’m not an All Pro Welder so I’m replacing with a new but will also try to weld the factory condenser
Looks like they have changed their welding since this video. Ordered the same one as suggested in this video. Has the same 3 cheesy tack welds as the one I'm replacing 👎

Thanks my Silverado is cold sometimes and hot most of the time this video helped
By far the best diy video
Finally found the video im lookin for thank you.

GM SHOULD PAY FOR THIS SHIT NO MATTER HOW MANY MILES YOU HAVE, SO MUCH FOR BIG BROTHER WATCHING OVER YOU !!!
Helped me out a lot appreciate it
Thank you!!! My 2016 has this exact problem! Replace my looks relatively easy. Did you ever do the video on how to vacuum and charge the system?
I'm wondering that as well. Just had the condenser go up on my 17 silverado.
What about the charging video you said was in the description... couldn't find it.
@@KD_Outdoors I guess he never did it... i couldn't find it.
@@fullmetalmidget Chrisfix has a video on vac and charging
@McGarveyton should someone doing this put any oil back in the system?
Awesome video Great work!
Thanks for the video, really helped out and I went with the condenser you went with.

Great job! I have a 2015 and not a I know where were to look for the leak. 👍🏻

Lucky I just missed my warranty. And all dealerships say it's not a recall
great work...

Is the condenser you got the same in this video?
@@javiersanchez3061 yes
Well done. Hope my dealer is as thorough. Dealer mum on cause or any recall on my 2018 Silverado
Ive gone ram, but great tips and rundown pretty straight forward 👌
It is my understanding that one should add 1oz of PAG oil after a condenser replacement. How did you add this to the condenser?
How much transmission fluid is lost. Fixing to replace my condensor
Can this process be repeated on a 2015-2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum for AC condenser replacement?
Did u use same seals on the inlet and outlet port for the ac lines.
Is there any seals that ne replacement needed?
Where the link to the video about charging the unit that you said would be in the description?

I see the same thing too. Should be the one with the full weld not the 3 tack welds
Nice repair video. Thanks!
Is the dryer desiccant included with the replacement condenser?
Great video John. Good explanation of how to change it out yourself. I wonder how much the shop rate on a job like that is. How much was the condenser? Thx
Dealership quoted me $850. Found a condenser with quality reviews for less than $100
I was just qouted 1,600 @ the dealership.
Dealership quoted 150 to recharge and add the uv dye. Did it all myself for about 250.
Knoxville, Tn area just received quote 879.00. 375 is labor alone.
I was just quoted 1800.00
Thank you
could not find link you refered too on charging the system?
thanks!

Where can I buy a condenser like yours my truck is a 2016 Chevy Silverado 4.3 V6
Where did you get the reinforced condenser from
where did you buy the Condenser Coil?

My Tahoe needs a new evap coil!! In your opinion. How hard is it to take the dash apart? Thanks!!
Question! Do new ac condensers come with new gaskets already with them?
No
Same thing with my 2016 Silverado. What brand condenser are you installing. I have and AC DC Aluminum welder will try to weld the crack. But I’m not an All Pro Welder so I’m replacing with a new but will also try to weld the factory condenser
What brand condenser? I have the same problem and bought a new condenser at o’Reillys and it definitely does not have a solid weld only 3 tack welds.
Just seen the link in description. Thanks
The picture on the Amazon link is not the same condenser.
@@jacobseifert1310 agreed! the condenser in the link also has the fragile tacks.
Is Autozone ok for the replacement??
Did you make a video about recharging the AC?
I don’t think he did I’ve looked for it and can’t seem to find it
I don’t see it in the description as mentioned
Looks like there's no link for the next video mentioned.
After doing this my truck started spraying oil what might be the cause?
Does anyone know if this goes for Tahoe’s as well? It’s the 5.3 in a 2015 Tahoe.
What company did you get replacement from
What brand condenser was using
Think this just happened to my 2017 Sierra I thought it was the compressor if it’s just the condenser I’ll be happy
Nice install, love the srt10 ram what’s the future plans for it ?
Thanks for the video. It helped. Only thing is the condenser is made in china. It has a lifetime warranty but still iffy.
Hello did you add the extra support or did it come like that?
how much to replace 2018 GMC SIERRA 15000 CONDENSER ?
What condenser is that? I need one
Today i change to new on in my car gmc seeira 2015 .
Any way I don't have the tools to do the job. My silverado has the same problem condenser leaking and a/c don't work.
Taking the grill out and doing that way took me an hour and a half
Where is the video showing how to recharge the condenser?
So if it's over 100k miles is it out of warranty??
What is the Max's mile for the warranty to expire?
Yeah - 2017 here, 85K miles
Looks like they have changed their welding since this video. Ordered the same one as suggested in this video. Has the same 3 cheesy tack welds as the one I'm replacing 👎
Anyone know how much this repair should cost?
Got a price today from dealer at nearly 1400.
I was quoted $700 total
Just watch how to replace a condenser , but how do you charge it
Anyone reweld their unit?
you should have cleaned that rad before putting in the condenser.

You forgot to put the metal clips before plastic clips..you don’t do it right 😒😒
These trucks are shit. Chevy/gmc used to be such a tough truck. Now they suck. Forced to go to Toyota since Ford and gm turned into trash vehicles
Toyota's are POS, they break and are super $$$ to fix.
When you connected the top lines on the condensor did you push lines in then place clip over it?
Looks like he pushed them on with the clips in place.
Thats what I figured. Thanks.@@txpyroguy817
