Great Video! My 2018 did this when staying at the beach. Theft display and honking outside my neighbor's bedroom window. Turns out the humidity and salt gummed up the striker and latch. Cleaned and lubed both and it went away. That was 2022 and no alarm yet. I got lucky. Keeping this video bookmarked for when it finally goes out. Thank you!

Nice work and good video. Did you have to use those microswitches to trigger relays? Or are the switches rated to carry enough current to powers the reverse lights? The rating on the micro switch that came with my shifter is 0.1A @125 VDC. Not sure what the translates to in a 12V system. Thanks!

Great job, i want to run a bunch of air horns using my oem horn on the steering wheel. The horns come with a 30amp fuse and 80 amp relay harness. I have set up like that now and it works great except when i stay on the horn for more than a few seconds the fuse blows. If i used your setup and ran the oem + to the switch side and gnd the black wire would that resolve my issue or would it possibly pose an overload.

My 2017 Silverado all the sudden is saying “Theft Attempted” the alarm beeps 3 times when I unlock the truck. Now it’s saying the hood is open when it’s latched shut. The alarm is going off at random times also. Hoping this fixes my alarm problem!

If you are doing the wiring far from your battery ground, is it possible to just tie the two ground wires together? Or do they need to be separate grounds for the fuses to work properly?

So im a tad confused. Maybe dumb. But I have 2 12V constants. 1 ground And im guessing one trigger by the ignition How do i know if the trigger is actually working as it should?
