Lyrics:
Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV, and the radio
Still I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy someone say
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Passion or coincidence once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well now prides gone out the window
Cross the rooftops, run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart
What is happening to me?
Crazy someone say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Papers in the roadside tell of suffering and greed
Fear today, forgot tomorrow
Besides the news of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk
And I don't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Every world is my world
(I will learn to survive)
Any world is my world
(I will learn to survive)
Any world is my world
I found my poor sweet big brother dead in his bed on 7/30/20. That was the most devastating day of my life. I don’t remember the first few days after. But the Sunday after I put on my brave face and went to clean out his room and get it ready to be emptied. For some reason the moment I opened his door this song came into my head. I hadn’t thought about or heard it in literal years but there it was strong and clear every note and lyric. I burst into tears with the perfection of how exactly it captured what I’m going through. Thanks Duran Duran. My brother loved this song when we were teens. We both did.
Sorry for your loss!
Sorry for your loss. Much love.
Very sorry for your loss
Sorry for what happened to your brother. For your loss. He will continue loving you even if he's now in another dimension. Love love.❤️
Hello my friend I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, This song is actually about Simon Le Bon‘s friend David Mills who passed away in 1986, it is an absolute fantastic song,You are not on your own i to have lost a brother and a sister, sadly through suicide, they say time is a healer, but it’s not, Time accommodates,I am sending you my love and deepest warmest thoughts of sympathy to you stay strong and be brave 🌹🏴
30 years on. 1993-2023.
This song NEVER grows old.

Yes it does
There’s something so damn emotional about this song 😭
This song represents a wonderful era, which no longer exists. Everything has changed, everything is different.
Beautiful memories are destined to be lost over time.
You are so very right
"Lost like tears in rain..."
The other day, I was thinking about all the missed opportunities for greatness that everyone has missed for all history and was feeling the weight of all that was lost, and then I remembered God. He sent His Son into the world to save everything good that was lost. Everything good is saved and we will find it again when we enter His kingdom. We have a beautiful God.
@@paulm749 И дождь смывает все следы.......
I absolutely agree with you, that era was amazing and no longer exists. I only listen to old music, above all these unforgettable songs.
A wise man once said...when you are happy, you enjoy the melody but when you are broken, you understand the lyrics...amazing song.
Waouh nice quote. Will remember it. It’s true.
😢 yes indeed. I am a widower...
Wow ! That's amazing . Thankyou for sharing that info.
POWERFUL!
I’ve never heard that before. Are you sure that you’re not that wise man? I don’t usually comment on UA-cam videos, but, what you said was actually insightful.
My husband passed away suddenly last week. 12/22/22. My heart is broken and this song has been on repeat at my house. Except for me it’s while I cry for yesterday. Thank you Duran Duran.
This (divinely-inspired) music will help you focus on loss; but when the time comes it will help you to move on from loss as well.
God console you, and be with you, my friend!
May RIP and God cure your wounds, sorry for your lost.
Hang in.
He's still with you.
🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭
My Mothers favorite song. She passed away in 2014. Im 49 this year and still think of her often. Spend as much time as you can with your loved one kids.
Tong loba pikiran, doakeun weh ibu teh sing di hampura dosana, di tampi agamana, jeung di terangkeun lam kuburna
Good advice my friend ❤
Our beloved daughter Mary Ann, born 1974, died one week after her 49th birthday on September 29, 2023. She was a child of the 80's, but also loved music from the previous two decades - especially the Grateful Dead and CSN. I know she was into pop music when in middle and high school, Duran Duran being one of her favs. Losing her has been the hardest thing I've ever gone through, and I doubt I'll ever be over her death. Hug your loved ones every day, and tell them how much you love them while they can still hear you. Mom and I miss you very much, and we will continue loving you until we meet again. Love ya, Dad
CHEER UP
@jaycorby
I SEND YOU A HUG
SHE KNOWS HERSELF LOVED BY YOU
EVEN IN THE PLACE THAT IS FOUND
KEEP LOVING HER UNTIL THE END OF YOUR DAYS, BECAUSE YOU WERE BLESSED BY GOD AND LIFE WITH THAT BEING OF LIGHT AND A SPECIAL TOUCH
Brother I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you yourself are still breathing today. Thriving. Borderline at peace 🙏.
That is terrible for you and your family. Thinking of you. This is a great song.
@@joenual1159 Thank you for such kind words.
@@Psychedelicbodega Thank you for your kind words. Some days are easier than others, but the pain of loss never leaves.
In my opinion this is the best song Duran Duran ever did.
For me this, hungry like a wolf 🐺 and white lines
Come undone... There's an argument right here
I agree totally!!
@John Fisher quite well said-
I'm always torn between this and Come Undone as their masterpiece- both are probably in the top 10 of best pop songs ever made. Both of these songs were 40 years ahead of their time
I was 31 years of age when this song came out, and the same year my wife died. . . . "Where is my friend when I need you most" . . . I thought they wrote this song for me. . . . . . I had to learn to survive! Thank you Duran Duran.
This song helped me grieve my mother in 1992. I can relate.
Bless you. So sorry for your loss.I don't think you ever get over losing a loved one, you just learn to 'cope' day by day!
@@stephaniem5091 . . .thank you. No you don't get over, just thru it. . . but the loss is always with you. Wonderful memories today, about the beautiful person that she was. I only wish her son/my son had the time to spend with her. Today he is 31 . . . . the same age I was when she passed. I guess in a selfish way, when she passed I just wanted the world to stop, if only for a second. Looking back, the world has changed so much. And in my own grief, I've been able to take care of others with strength and understanding of how painful life can often be. Again thank you. . .today I am blessed. ✝️
I’m liking this comment because it brought tears too my eyes to read & I agree with you on feeling like it was wrote for you, because I feel it was wrote for me too during a time in my life. Bless you & everyone that goes through pain. Please remember that we have these songs to help us through these times of pain.
Sorry for your loss... hope you are doing well!! Stay strong!👍
One of the best songs EVER!
One of my favorites for sure
totally agree ,i listen to many music styles but this is really outstanding sound
The best Duran song. So glad they came back for this album.
Come Undone is pretty darn good too!
I picked out this song to be played at my dads funeral this past week, it felt appropriate. I’ll always remember the great memories we shared together. I’ll miss you dad! 😢
I'm sorry for your loss. I love that you are focused on the great memories you've shared! You WILL see him again, I promise.

If I were your dad, I'd be proud that this was the song you picked. It's an extremely meaningful one and a beautiful choice. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you find some semblance of comfort in the fact that others see the beauty in your choice.
28 years later, and I'm still listening to this amazing song! I came home from my Dad's funeral in 1993, turned on the TV... And this video came on 😢 I was 16 and a half.. prophetic words I thought to myself 💪🏻

Me on holiday in Menorca. 72 years old and love Duran Duran.
❤
I just randomly searched my MP3's and thought 'Hmmm Duran Duran', having previously listened to Prince, and Ordinary Day came into my mind.
I'm so lost.
Duran Duran have an amazing back catalogue but this in my opinion is their best song ever. Magnificent
Amen
When you hear a song it triggers your memory when you first heard it where you were the feelings that you had at the time the people that were with you
❤❤😅
I am amazed about that clear shift from 80s to 90s sound. And Duran Duran were a very 80s band and this sounds very comfortably 90s.
For sure. Probably my favorite song of all time
This is my favorite song by Duran Duran.
Red did a Symphonic Hardrock cover of this song, with way more emotion. Perhaps you'd like that one.
Yep this one n come undone
it is a great tune...beautiful
And Come Undone
That's my favorite idol and I'm gonna ask Simon Lebon if he's available on Saturday night so we can be housemates and he'll teach me to sing some of his songs I happened to have a keyboard which is a musical instrument I wondered who plays a keyboard in Duran Duran can you please find out who it was?
This is my new favorite song for 2024. Helping me to survive

I’ve been listen to this song since I was 16 til now…so many good memories 😊😊😊
Red made a better version of it. Just saying
Right before my wife passed away, she made me promise her that I would move on and find happiness again. During the rough years of grieving this song served as a reminder of a promise I made to someone who I love dearly to this day. That was many years ago. Today I have a loving wife and twins in high school. This song now serves as a reminder of a promise kept. This song still makes me cry.
I agree
My wife passed and I also have twins in high school. Every day I wish she was here.
My wife died in December of '22. Your comment brought tears.
Over the past 40 years many of my friends and family have past away, too many, and the wounds do not heel, but from this sorrow, there is joy, in the bright light of hope, the joy of love I have from our Grand children, they are our world now
Wow, brought me to tears!!! She must have been a beautiful lady inside and out. So happy to here you fulfilled your promise. Very special!!!
Duran Duran ruled the 80s and forever ❤️❤️❤️
I’m an 80’s boy - I played this song at my wife’s funeral this past March - I listen to this song to remind me that I need to keep going, keep navigating through the pain and get back to an ordinary world - so yes I’m still listening
I’m so sorry for your loss.
My deepest condolences, she is with you always. ❤️
What a great track to remind you of your wife. I hope you appreciate the blessing of meeting, marrying and enjoying your time with her. Take care
very sorry for your loss, the pain never goes away but does ease with time. Stay strong

Message I get from this song: Don't cry for yesterday because yesterday is gone. All we can do is make the best out of what we have. It may not be okay now, but it will be.
when you make two thoughts (statements) and use the word but it negates the former thought. do try again.

This has always been a song of loss and grief for me. There is no ordinary world after losing a loved one. Our worlds are changed. Maybe that is why we come together after a loss. If you have ever gone thru a deep loss it changes you. And for me it has given me a sense of empathy for others going thru the same experience. Grief is a very personal journey and has no timetable. But i KNOW we are not alone in it.
Пережившие горе по-другому воспринимают те песни, которые раньше просто нравились. Теперь это становится напоминаем о чем-то сокровенном....
Back on 1/10/10 my best friend and brother from another mother died at 25yrs old... Nothing has ever been the same after that. I curled into a ball that day and cried on the floor for hours until my wife could finally leave work and pick me up off the ground. It broke me. Over 14yrs ago now, and I still randomly break down and bawl. I've never known another friendship like that outside of my now ex-wife. Losing my best friend broke me, my marriage ending shattered the rest. I cry even typing this, and my marriage was lost around Christmas in 2016. My wife cheated, and left me for the kid she was seeing.. Pieces of my soul are missing, far too many to try and count. So I just try to enjoy the sunny days when they're here, smile when I can, and help the people I love in any way that I possibly can. And help what strangers I can as well. I'm not looking for another person to be with, if it happens it happens, but the last time I nearly took my own life many many times.. I can't take that pain again and survive it.
@@DM-wp9vq I am sorry that you have suffered such loss. Speaking from my own experience, I needed to get some extra help in the form of of one on one therapy and joining in a grief support group. It certainly helped me. For me, one really tough loss became "cumulative" for me. Felt like a waterfall of many losses. I needed to get that out. There is no quick fix, that is for sure. But I did learn to find things that give me joy, or glimmers of that. If you get to that despair state PLEASE reach out for help. Whether you realize it or not, your life and your experiences DO MATTER. Some losses leave us traumatized and there is HELP for that. It will be a one minute, one hour, one day at a time process, but KNOW YOU ARE WORTH IT. I will keep you in prayer. Oh yes, that is something else that helped me, finding a spiritual life. For each of us that is different and unique. I find peace and joy in nature. And I try to use the experiences I have had to perhaps offer others some light. There are those who have done that for me, and I have to pass that on. Take care of yourself.
@@DM-wp9vqYou have been through a lot bro

You nailed it with this comment!
Agree Joe… Just heard this song now for the 1st time in a LONG TIME….. LOW KEY, This song is an absolute classic and highly underrated IMO and RIGHT NOW is my fav. Duran Duran (and Duran Duran has ALOT of great songs)…..
A great song but they had bigger hits like reflex, is there something I should know and hungry like the wolf, though this is the most soul wrenching song they did.
The older i get the more the lyrics hit home, absolute beast of a song and absolutely soul cleansing, when i listen to it the dam wall breaks and the tears flow.
Same here. It reminds me that our lives are a snapshot in time.

Hard to believe there was a time where every week a song this good would be in in the charts.
That’s a really good point. What the hell happened….
Those of us who grew up in the 60, 70, 80’s , we were blessed with the most incredible Music. I hear these songs and I know every word! It was an amazing wonderful time for Music. Of course anytime is a great time for music.
But we did seem to have the BEST ARTISTS EVER!
Grew up on this music and still love it and listening today. Do like modern music but don’t think there are classic tunes like this one or those produced by other great artists of the time eg. Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet, Simple Minds, A-Ha, Inxs etc
So true.So glad all my memories are brought to life from all the music that surrounded them.
Hey now we got cadi b and Travis scott 😆 nails on a c board would sound better then what we have today 🎶

I stil listen to these
Sometimes
That song still brings tears to my eyes. Ever since it came out, back when I was 9 years old and going on ten in 1993.. I learned the pain of losing the love you cherished and fought for through this song. I had gone through so.much in life already at that age. Major health issues (diagnosed with Spina Bifida, very late at 8 years old, and it had already thrashed my body so much), feeling completely alone as classmates that i was close to made fun of my medical issues without remorse, and I never gave up fighting for my health and to maintain an active life.. Then upon getting older, best friends and close family that died tragic and sudden deaths.. experiencing the even more intense pain of finding love and losing it again and again.. then I found my Soul Mate at 23, got almost 1 year of unobstructed happiness with her and her daughter that I helped raise all of these years since and consider to be my daughter as well... my health got worse and everything i fought for my whole life started to crumble. Being a Pro Level Unsponsored skateboarder and surfer, playing every sport except ice hockey and some random ones like lacrosse and such and getting fucking good at them, a championship pitcher in baseball.. Rock climber, mountain biker, rally racer, etc etc etc.. . . my active life fell away and I was left with 24/7 pain in every way. mainly physically and emotionally.. Trying my best for my young family, failing over & over & over again to handle the pain in the right ways due to the onset of Bipolar Disorder that I figured out 5 years later was being caused by THC.. After I quit smoking weed, after my wife threw me out of our home, my mind started to clear and I could handle things in a sane and mature way.. We were still a family, thank God, but our relationship had suffered. So we were on again and off again for a few years as we lived apart. I kept fighting for my family and my Soul Mate. In 2014 we moved back in together after 3 years living apart, and I got my life back. Until mid-late 2016, when my wife's Mom started dying from cancer.. my wife started to retreat into her phone, became more distant, and started to get close to a co-worker who's over 18yrs younger than her & nearly 11 younger than me.. She starting cheating on me by about October/November of 2016, and this kid was acting like he was my friend, even though I could see what was happening.. I didn't have the strength left to fight anymore.. I couldn't fight for someone who had now broken every promise she ever made to me, lied straight faced, talked shit about me behind my back as though I was evil, even though I never stopped helping them with anything they ever needed and never gave up until that point. She threw me away that last time, and was openly sleeping with this virgin boy that also happens to be the pastiest, most pitiful, most cowardly little bitch boy that I've ever come across in my life. He constantly lied (and still does to everyone) to her and told her a bunch of bullshit sob stories for pity and then told her everything he thought she wanted to hear, all to destroy a family so he could finally get laid. ... honestly, the only reasons I didn't beat him to death was because I didn't wanna spend my life in prison, & she wasn't worth that anymore. A woman i would've died to protect without hesitation. What's fucked is that my heart is trapped with her. I still love her as much as I ever did, and of course still love our daughter with every ounce of my being. I would still sacrifice myself for either of them..
This song drags alll of that up inside me. 31 years of pain, of love, of tragedy and of triumph. This song encapsulates all of that period of my life.. And that makes it truly special to me, and probably to many others. The Wedding Album, by Duran Duran and of course Ordinary World.
Hope this helped you to get this off your chest...

It's a shame the 80s died. I miss those days now more than ever. Things just aren't the way they used to be.
It makes me sad that not everyone got to grow up like we did!
this a 90s song though :)
Yes but thanks to the wonders of Technology, you get to asscees an awful lot from The 1980's. Your Great Grant Parents weren't so lucky.
The song encourages us NOT to cry for yesterday. I have known for years the beaut of this song; but I only saw the joy in it once I was Born Again in Jesus, through the Holy Spirit (the co-author of thus divine work of art). For me this song is now about now and today. Including the moment of writing to you, which has its value and meaning, done in love and truth....
Visit the 80s daily with some quality headphones, then try your best to live the rest of your day in the now. Godspeed brother.

63 and feel the same. Where did my life go?? I've lost many family members, and friends are moving away. I am not prepared for all these changes.😢
I hear you my friend
I agree. They were one of the best bands of the early to mid 80s. They were considered a bunch of pretty boys but they were also good musicians and songwriters. This was one of their more mature sounding songs but it's still very much them. To me the best pop music was late 70s to early 90s because that's the era I was listening to these as a child and right up until my early 20s so it resonates with me. There's a sadness to this song that is almost like me kissing goodbye to my youth back in 93 from one of my favourite bands of the era.
My wife of 22 years has spent the last month in intensive care battling a serious and life threatening illness! I’m lost without her, this song about loss, hope and the need to carry on resonates with me more than ever at this moment in time. I’m confident she will recover but for now the person I needed the most to get me through tough situations isn’t here and that’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with.
What illness does she have and which country are you from?
@@prettyhatemachine8887 I am from England, she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called Guillian barre. It is treatable and she is improving day by day. But in its acute phase it’s a very scary condition and paralysed her breathing muscles.
@@MrKeefelm I'm glad she's recovering, this disorder is not a walk in the park to put it lightly. Did she take the vaccine? There's actually a big increase in Guillain barre cases this year and it's associated with the COVID mRNA vaccines. In fact, there's an increase in all kinds of autoimmune disorders and other unrelated illnesses such as some types of cancer, blood clot related diseases, certain viral diseases and more, and they all seem to be associated with those vaccines.
@@prettyhatemachine8887 She has autoimmune problems already, under active Thyroid and a potential unconfirmed diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. She is COVID vaccinated but that was months ago. A doctor has potentially put it down a reaction to the Flu vaccine which for some reason is pretty potent this year. My stance on vaccines hasn’t been altered by this, she’s just been very unlucky as this condition is still pretty rare. (Only around a 1000 people a year in the UK) No vaccine claims to be 100% risk free,. However I guess it would be naive to not take a more cautious approach in future.
May Krishna bless you both!
I feel lost right now and this song means a lot to me, over 30 years ago and I feel like my life is over due to so much madness & chaos that has happened between 2020 and 2024.
If you're reading this, I may well have left the earthly plane and moved on but if you have love and hope, keep going...
Многое можно ещё сделать в жизни, не сдавайтесь. Я конечно не знаю, что у вас произошло, но все же не стоит сдаваться. Надеюсь, что вы одумаетесь
You sound like you’re down and weak. If you’re still on this plane read this:
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
New King James Version
The Thorn in the Flesh
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to [a]buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

One of the great song from a bygone era. So so emotional
I’m 34. I always thought of Duran Duran as an ‘80s band, and then this came up on the ‘90s station, on satellite radio. I was like… This is Duran Duran?! It sounds so different from their earlier material. They sold me with this song. This song always puts me into a deep state of thought and reflection. Absolutely beautiful song. Kudos Duran Duran!
Believe me Winton, I was blind but now I see that a bit of the kudos here goes to the Holy Spirit, who both inspired and resides in this music, spreading out to us the mystery of God's love and mercy pervading the universe. Maybe you know instinctively that this is the truth about this music - how else can it be eternal in the way it is? How else can it transcend" How else can it make us feel ecstasy out of melancholy?
In the '90s i hated this song. I hated every song from the radiocharts. Now I'm in my '40s and I love the song.
by the way whats wrong with any 80s band? LOL!
@@danholzer4626 Hahaha!!! Absolutely nothing my friend! I was born in the ‘80s. I love ‘80s bands. I was just speaking to how their sound evolved over time. lol.
I was vacationing in Orlando with my aunt when it played on Mix 105.1
I was fishing with an AM FM radio tape recorder and skipped until the Spencer Davis Group played Gimme Some Lovin'
One of their best, and most emotional songs, by far.
1993, my lord, what a amazing year. Graduated this year, played this song countless times lol, still have the CD lol. Such a good song 🙂

Very true!! No question about it.

Absolutely

It's the best if you wanna relax. If you wanna celebrate, it's "Wild Boys". Agree?

This song is so melancholic that it’s romantic. I can recognize the pain behind the lyrics but it really speaks to me like a love song
I think it's about someone's death?
@@pup1008 It is. It's a song of loss.
The singer has lost someone, someone who was a huge part of their life, and that loss has completely turned their lives upside down.
They're struggling to move on, to reach the 'ordinary world', that is, a sense of the normality they had before the loss, and 'learning to survive', that is, figure out how to continue their life without that person in it, but they're not ready yet. They're still grieving, as much as they recognize 'they've somehow got to find' the way back to that 'ordinary world', they can't.
@@GuukanKitsune
The lyric to "Ordinary World" were written by Simon Le Bon as the second of a trilogy of songs for his late friend David Mile.
@@GuukanKitsune i ihad no idea with the original release in the 90s that the song was about grief and loss but now all these years later after the recent passing of my father i relate to the lyrics of trying to deal with grief and the process of loss

This is an early '90s masterpiece that keeps on giving. Warren Cuccurullo's guitar work is transporting.

You know, I believe that somewhere in the world there are still people who feel the same emotions that I feel when listening to this timeless masterpiece.
I swear I can feel the heartache from another life listening to this song. Beautiful song
Yes agreed 👍
Not 1, not a few, but millions.
But what is TRULY reaching out from the music is GOD, through the Holy Spirit.
The darkness tried to take the song from us, by associating it with "The Evil Within"
(Think that's by chance? Wrong. Nothing is by chance. Things have meaning)
1 John 5:19 - We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
This is what the song is all about, and the "emotions" actually ready to explode in countless people are the sure knowledge that the world is NOT as it should be, not just enough, not divine enough, not kind enough, not sacrificing enough; too much in the hands of godless elites presiding over the chaos that is ALWAYS the hallmark of the D*v*l.
Loving money and power and the monolith that keeps most of us down and out.
Something new, more ORDINARY, has to break out from this - like a new butterfly from the chrysalis.
ordinary truth (instead of the endless lies and fakery), ordinary love, ordinary mercy.
ordinary compassion.
Just what Jesus means.
Just what the Holy Spirit works endlessly for - giving us signs in nature, culture (as above), Scripture and rapture.
When the rapture comes it will be too late for many.
So the time is now, stefano!
@@JustAlanIsCool Interesting, so you do not feel the ecstatic JOY in the song?

One of the best songs ever
Duran Duran was and still remains to be an excellent group. Still listening to this tune at 58. It is a good life coaching and healing sort of song. I guess that this is why musicians are also artists. They capture feelings, set in concrete, within their music like a painter captures life on canvas. Permanent thought modes to be observed and enjoyed while never diminishing in value, only increasing. Peace.
Artists are gifted and helped and inspired to capture feelings by the Holy Spirit. That is the full and true story here.
Among the 10 best hits from the 90s, an absolute masterpiece in every way you look at it.
I hope i can agree that there are 9 more beautiful songs like this one from that era. Curious about yours ( 1 or 2 is fine!)
100%.
The vocals, arrangement, instrumentation, and not forcing the song length to fit the artistry rather than a 2 minute 45 seconds ideal length for AM radio.

Indeed.
However that "ordinary world" has gone forever & is the reason I started listening to this record at this time.
Humanity is now at a fork in the road.
Do we allow the few to implement their "great reset" or do we say no & choose a different path?
Whichever way it goes that *ordinary world" has gone forever & I for one won't miss it.

Is this song about a friend who died? I'm getting those kind of vibes
@@MetalFriscoDude79 You're right! I just Googled and found this:
The origins of "Ordinary World" were the results of tragedy: the death of singer Simon Le Bon's good friend, David Miles, of a drug overdose in 1986. “I'm not a big believer in the supernatural, but six years after [my friend's death], I started to feel a weight inside me," Le Bon told Paste in 2017.

It's amazing how a man of a different nationality and from a different continent, with an entirely different lifestyle and life experiences and worldview and character can perfectly encapsulate how you've been feeling for months. Put in to words thoughts that you yourself couldn't. Felt like this was coming out of my own soul while I was listening to it.
well said.
I do not know what word you have for the Holy Spirit - but that is who is at work here. Sad and nostalgic and happy and ecstatic are all the same to Him, as all come from love, and God is love...
