I was 17 when Michael passed. it was a couple of days before Thanksgiving here in the states. i was devastated. isn't it weird how you can feel compassion and sadness for someone you never met? Rest easy Michael.

Oh, please. The music of the 80s was for the most part just as shallow as everything else associated with the Greed is Good era. Catchy, clever and definitely better than disco but deep it was not. For every "Personal Jesus" there was a "Rio" or "Safety Dance" or "I Ran" or "You Spin Me" and on and on. Hell, even Bowie found banality in the decade of excess.

I was one.. hit 13 in 1987.. man.. what time to be a teenager.. 1987-1993.. 13-19.. wow. lots of shit went down during those years in music.. in culture, in the world... sigh... then expanding into the 90s....
I turned 12 in 90 but 3rd and 4th grade I became hooked on mtv. I remember none of my friends were into music at the time yet. I'd go to sleep with this album and def leopards hysteria over and over. Then jumped to poison (lol) motley crue and I remember like yesterday seeing welcome to the jungle for the first time and it really warped me. Became really infatuated with the darker side of life, curious about drugs and girls...I don't regret it but I remember feeling a lot older than I was.
Lived it. Loved it. Graduated in 84. Great memories and awesome music
