@@KayMyers-h1bBut 80s music was the beginning of hip hop. Think "Regulate" by Nate Dogg & Warren G. The beat is awesome & not hard at all to see that 80s music inspired that era of music.
My idea of Heaven is my hometown is my hometown San Francisco in the 1980s. Great decade, best music, and all my loved ones were here then. Someday I will join them at the old family home on Marina Blvd. and it will again be my favorite time with all those I love.
My girls and I always belted this out in the car together. When my oldest daughter got married, I requested it from the DJ and we sang it once again at the reception. A moment I'll always treasure. ❤
I always wanted this to be my first dance song at my upcoming wedding, but stupid in-laws scoff at the idea...oh well, Love Song by Tesla it is, then!!

At 70, this song gets my adrenalin moving. I was a young man in the 80s and got to enjoy all the incredible music. So many different genres, so many different styles to choose from, so many artists selected by record companies because they were talented, not because a corporation used statistical analysis to see what teeny boppers would buy and then "created" someone to sing it using auto tune.
Today we have these Island boys running around with pineapple hair cut and sing crappy songs.. you get the point. 80s, 90s and some 2000s are some of the great music could ever produce.
@@maximustitan8171 there is lots of good new music still that I like...I just like when people sing with their natural voices...auto tune sounds like a robot to me
I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor and IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Stay safe and keep on rocking in the '020s.
Born in the 80s, but grew up a 90s kid with an intense affection for 80s music and got ridiculed for it but now the world knows the timelessness of that decade. If you're watching/listening to this, you have awesome taste!
why did music feel so much 'warmer' back then? like you swear you can HEAR the sun shining in the music. i miss the 80s. Synth sounded cheery and from the future, saxaphones brought us into great solos and reprises, and harmonies were positive and loving. also, its nuts that this is some of the same crowd who brought us White Rabbit, Somebody To Love & Find Your Way Back.
I have my own theory for that. I am not from that time but i have heard that psychedelics were cool and common in that time among the musicians. Maybe that the frequent tripping experiences just had them tuned excellently into the vibe of a common man's sweetspot taste for music.
When Hubby and I got married (1987) this song had just started to get radio play. We were just about a month from our wedding day, and I heard it on the radio one afternoon and yelled "THIS IS OUR SONG!" and Hubby joyfully agreed. I had to buy the 45 record (🤭😂) to get it played at our reception. When guests heard it at the reception, they all said "Man, that sounds like Grace Slick!" and Hubby played along, like, "Oh Yeah, my wife knows Grace Slick, she did it for our wedding, etc."😂 Needless to say, they all bought it - Cuz We All was HAMMERED!🤣😋🤪🥴 One of my fave wedding memories!😁
My little brother died suddenly in 1985. He was eleven and I was fifteen. I blanked the Eighties from my mind for many years as it was too upsetting to return to that time. Its only in recent years that I find I can look back fondly at my youth. This song makes me smile.
I was born in 1986, my brother in 1974, I think he resents me cause I’m the youngest and he was the oldest and I haven’t seen him or talked to him in 3-4 years, it was just his birthday and I didn’t say anything to him because that’s just the way it is but he’s still someone I admire..that feeling of a brother never changes, it’s a certain love that can’t be explained..I’ll regret it when he’s gone and if I die, he will too..your message made me think of him and I’m happy for that, he’s a great man..thank you

I miss the positivity, hopefulness and fun of 80s music! So glad I was in high school during the mid-80s. Best time for music. Fun time to be young and coming into adulthood.
Because they enjoyed the benefits of 5 decades of struggles and created a lot of the mess that we have to work through and overcome today. It could mean they were fortunate to enjoy stuff and we are fortunate to usher in the next stage of progress so that our children may enjoy it.
It's 1984, It was late autumn, not to cool just enough chill to make breathing a pleasure. My girlfriend got a job at O'Hare airport on 2nd shift. I'd go and meet her for break and we'd lay on the hood of my car together watching the jets take off. She rolled closer and leaned her head on one arm staring deeply in my eyes as Christopher Cross's 1979 debut played from inside my tape deck. Almost 40 years later we are still together and I still own the car...

If I get married my song would be a tie between this is the one and "Bryan Adams' "Everything I do". If my boyfriend and I do get married, the first one fits because of people thinking we won't last and that we're crazy for getting together "too early", according to them. And also because I know we'll have ups and downs, given our past. But we support and understand each other. He kept having these intrusive thoughts like "if this doesn't work", or "if your mom tries to break us up". Last night, I took some quotes from the song and sent it to him, and I told him it doesn't matter what people say, and not to worry, as long as we're honest and true to each other. Adam's song is also a perfect wedding song because it illustrates the love and sacrifice people should have for each other.
I’m 17 years old and in love with the 80s. I’d do anything to be born in that era. Time moves so fast. If you got to experience the 80s, you’re so lucky! Be blessed no matter what. ❤️

The 80's was a total milestone in music, so many legends, so many timeless tracks written and the birth of electronic music. Golden years for music above all others.
I often think that it must have been such a wonderful time to be alive for so many people, seeing so much history unfold before their eyes. My mother and father were in their 20's and they were living here in Brisbane when World Expo '88 was on (they still are, in fact, just in a different house to the one they were living in back then). Much of the city's infrastructure opened in time for the event, such as the Cultural Centre and the existing airport. I wasn't born until the following year, so I'm not even old enough to remember life in the 80's.
@@davidd1492 All true. I totally agree that music has been loosing it's soul and meaning since the onset of the 90's, though there has been the odd track since then that has, for me given a glimmer of hope, but 80% of modern music (If you can call it music) is just repetative nonsense lyrics laid over a melody that was written by a true musician back in the 70/80's and sold as brand new music. And from what ive heared of the latest pop music of today, most of them are not even singing, just talking, about, crap lol
I just wish that kids my age would listen to these masterpieces instead of rap or whatever. I could anything to be born in the 70's or 80's to experience this type of music. Stay healthy from a fellow teenager..

To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. I literally feel like I'm about to shed tears. This song just takes me back to great times and memories growing up in the 80s. Rock, r&b, pop and all genres was great and we enjoyed all of it. Lol anyway such a great song.❤

Its nice to see someone that was an adult in the 80s comment about their experience. Its easy to say an era was magical when you are a kid. When you are a kid, you are care free so there is a bias to the time you grew up in since you weren't adult experiencing the struggles of that time. Thank you for your comment. Its refrefreshing to hear it from your age group
+Armando Perez yesssss and good for her for surviving and living life to the fullest , a lot of musicians usually die too young from excessive drugs/alcohol... surprised she aged so well with all the drugs being passed around in the 60's, along with her alcohol addiction. definitely my favorite singer, I have her autograph sitting on my desk.
+Moot I saw an interview where she said she was at the White House during President Nixon's (R.I.P.) time in office. She was going to drop some LSD she had in her pinky nail into his drink but staff before she could, staff recognized her and escorted her out. Lol.
It was so optimistic despite high interest rates, deregulation and the fall of the soviet union. It's an anachronism probably drawing on decades of music. The 2000's suck.
Heck yeah, like never forget. So much stuff going on , ( 80’s were a very interesting time with crazy stuff on the news every night ) some stuff you just don’t forget. CBS News with Dan Rather was almost always a thing after or during dinner. Everybody was at the kitchen table enjoying it and relaxing with family. Hardly anyone does that anymore .

Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhh........
Will , I am going to be 62, couldn't have said it or felt it any better!
Well Said and You are Right about that....and I f-ing Hate stupid auto tune too. Such an Ugly sound.

1980S BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND BEAUTIFUL SONGS❤❤❤❤
why did music feel so much 'warmer' back then? like you swear you can HEAR the sun shining in the music. i miss the 80s. Synth sounded cheery and from the future, saxaphones brought us into great solos and reprises, and harmonies were positive and loving.
also, its nuts that this is some of the same crowd who brought us White Rabbit, Somebody To Love & Find Your Way Back.
I know what you mean about feeling the sun shine🤗

GREAT DAYS.
Why do the 80's/90's songs seem to have so much more genuine happiness to them? Today's are just depressing as hell.
Maybe cause the music is the mirror of the socety sometimes
Just like the literature
Because they enjoyed the benefits of 5 decades of struggles and created a lot of the mess that we have to work through and overcome today. It could mean they were fortunate to enjoy stuff and we are fortunate to usher in the next stage of progress so that our children may enjoy it.
That's true! today the tendency is look more depressed
Simpler times, good times!

😁😁😁
This song is pure gold! Never dies🔥

The 80's was a total milestone in music, so many legends, so many timeless tracks written and the birth of electronic music. Golden years for music above all others.
I agree with all my heart.
I wasn't born until the following year, so I'm not even old enough to remember life in the 80's.
that’s true 80,s golden years😍😍😍
Started in the mid to late 70s and finished at the end of the 80s.
And music has been on a downward spiral since as far as I'm concerned.

I'm 26 and im jealous of you. I love everything about 80's! Greetings from Poland
Yes Bart, we had a magical time. Being in my 30s that decade was beautiful.
Viva 80s desde bs as Argentina
Grace Slick is forever a legend.
Hell yeah! She still looks beautiful in her 70s.
Very true
+Armando Perez yesssss and good for her for surviving and living life to the fullest , a lot of musicians usually die too young from excessive drugs/alcohol... surprised she aged so well with all the drugs being passed around in the 60's, along with her alcohol addiction. definitely my favorite singer, I have her autograph sitting on my desk.
Moot You are so lucky for the autograph....that is awesome!!!!
+Moot I saw an interview where she said she was at the White House during President Nixon's (R.I.P.) time in office. She was going to drop some LSD she had in her pinky nail into his drink but staff before she could, staff recognized her and escorted her out. Lol.
80’s music remains unmatched. Forever my favorite genre
Yes, it takes me back to my youth. Great, happy simpler times. I don't miss the 80's- I miss my youth.
It was so optimistic despite high interest rates, deregulation and the fall of the soviet union. It's an anachronism probably drawing on decades of music. The 2000's suck.
Bearing in mind its a derivative of 70's and 60's and 50's music......
I like the way you think
80’s music is a genre
@@greekkidshows9373 I dont, thats cos im 69 and lived it all, kid. And Ill tell you now, i know more about it because we invented it.
As a youngin, my jaw fell when I realized that the same lady who sings White Rabbit also sings this. She's got range. My lord.
The 80s, the decade we won't forget.
Ari Qureshi ♡♡
Ari Qureshi shit ya
Heck yeah, like never forget. So much stuff going on , ( 80’s were a very interesting time with crazy stuff on the news every night ) some stuff you just don’t forget. CBS News with Dan Rather was almost always a thing after or during dinner. Everybody was at the kitchen table enjoying it and relaxing with family. Hardly anyone does that anymore .
@@makeupboss9812 we should all build a time machine and go right back to the 80s! 😊
REBEL FLOWER SURE !!! How about the kind like Back to The Future ? Epic fun
80’s had one of the best decades in music history.
Not one of the best. The best.
No equal.
90s too
