I like how you're so direct in telling us to study our favorite artists and even being creative is not enough to create our style. This helped me a lot more than the other artists that I've been following. They keep on telling us, "study this and that to be better" and it feels like the idea keeps on repeating itself. It's frustrating because not everyone can help everybody just like how you just did. So, thank you for the advice! It means a lot to me.

Hi! Thanks so much for your comment! I totally feel what you mean. It's easy to get lost and not knowing what to do to improve. I was stuck in that kind of situation before and it sucks. Sometimes it's best to just do a bunch of "meaningless" copies of your fav artists. I find this to be the quickest way to actually get better. Of course you still have to study the fundamentals (anatomy, color, perspective, composition) though to get an understanding of how things work. :)

I watched this video about after a week it came out, and that day I made a plan to work hard on a drawing for a week, the next week a new drawing. After so many, I'll use all of the techniques I've learned in every piece of art and combine them to make something beautiful, no matter how long it took or what the style of it was. I subscribed 3 minutes into this video. This was really refreshing since a lot of the videos about this topic tell you not to worry and dont talk about how to find your style. Instead they talk about how it will come to you, and you should just wait a year. Well, I’ve been drawing for 4 years now, and I still don’t have a style.(also I always wanted to study my inspirations, but I was always to lazy. Ever since watching this video I’ve more into it.
    Tahnks!

I was having the same issue but after drawing some more I began noticing things that only come up in my pictures, I'm still a LONG way from being great, but that's what it's all about. I always say there's no such thing as a great artist because an artist is always on a mission to evolve. I had a hard time grasping that concept. I'm glad you got this message out because more young artists like me need to hear it. Everyone thinks it's all about speed and skill. A great artist is one who's always trying to learn and improve. You should never focus on trying to be good, but on the task at hand which is improving. Time and practice will carry you a long way.

i definitely agree with what you said. what we create is a culmination of all the things that inspire and move us; and that ends up showing through our creative work. this is why a lot of the times the artist sometimes 'looks' like their work. their tendency to draw and colour in a certain way really shows through. i think the most important thing is to really study and understand the foundations of drawing (anatomy perspective, colour, etc) , and everything else will fall into place the more you absorb the things around you that take your interest. great video!

    That was really helpful.
I struggle with finding "my style" a lot and by this point wasn't even aware of my direct inspirations.
I tried too hard to "just do my own thing", which never felt satisfying.
Really lifted my spirits, as I also thought that I am maybe just not cut out for art in general.
That may really be the piece that was missing for me all along.
    Thank you so much! :)

This is so helpful I’m literally in such a bad mindset right now with my art like my style changes so dramatically from one piece to another that I feel like I’m never gonna have a consistent look at all but this gives me so much hope for myself thank you

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ! I like your style ! I ve been doing a research about imagination in art , for a university essay , and what i realise is that imagination is the ability to recall in your minds thinngs that you ve seen - observe ( it has to do with perception in general ) , and acording to that when you try to create something from imagination you actually combine things you ve seen and noticed before .Therefore what you said about studing your inspirations is true and important if you want to find a unique style , because by observing you add to your imagination , and there's no better way to observe from sketching and drawing !

I really need to take this to heart ! Everything you said is just so relevant, especially about everything already having been done before. I used to think that in order to stand out I'd have to start drawing my eyes upside down or something (might actually be cool who knows 😆). This reminded me that I should just go with whatever flow I'm feeling that day and whatever inspires me at that exact moment, and just go from there

Amazing videos and advices. You're right about the style that should keep changing as we learn more and grow as an artist. Remaining constant would make us stagnant. Thankyou so much for sharing such thoughts 🤓👍🏼

I think you are spot on with your views on finding your "originality or style" nothing is original anymore so your suggestion of looking at other artists that inspire you and merging them together to create something fresh is an amazing idea.
