- Wearing my Seiko SPB147, I explain why my watch-obsession meter fell below 11. My book The Watch Survivor: A Guide Through the Traps, Pitfalls, and Strange Habits of Watch Enthusiasts is on Amazon Kindle:

I love these longer videos, McMahon. I’m having what I call a watch orgy. I have 5 or 6 of my watches laid out on the couch while I obsess over them and play with them, set the time, fondle them, inspect them, measure their case sizes with calipers, etc. I have too many watches and I just bought another one today. I seriously need help!
I do that a lot lol
I did not think I'd hear the word Lugubrious today. Well played.
- My watch level definitely varies depending on what is on my proverbial plate of life. But it always returns to 11 for periods of time. And since you mentioned Meatloaf I’m having a craving so I’m heading to the supermarket like a bat out of hell.
It's my utmost pleasure to officially forgive you for making this video brother 😂 Great content, again!
Don't take this as an insult, but is this satire? I just find your videos so amusing to watch because you remind me so much of my father. In regards to your thoughts on trauma, yes my father did experience major trauma as a child. He lost his father to a shotgun at the age of 14. So I completely understand and am forgiving of his downsides.
You finished writing the book on watch addiction and processed your trauma!
Happy to see the video McMahon! I think it's good to reel in the hobbies from time to time. Since getting my grail watch, I've really not been looking around at other time pieces, and feeling totally fine in doing so.
Great outlook, I hope it stays that way for you
Jeff, as a fellow watch obsessive, I want to make a prediction: your obsession will return to 11 in a matter of months. From my own experience, obsessions are cyclical in nature, esp when the obsession is above a 10. ;)
Awesome discussion….well, all of your videos are, but this one was very helpful in opening some doors to continuing to dial down my own watch obsession from 11 to something more manageable and sane….like how how about 3…that would work for now…thanks Jeff!
Hey Jeff, keep up the good work in the gym. I understand that situation. 👍📚
Sounds healthy, McMahon! Life is happening all around us…watches are still great though
Another great video
Very instructive..now how can I turn my dial down.. 🤔
No such thing as a perfect watch. We have to move away from dimensions and boring specs. Just enjoy each watch for being unique, cool, original etc... each watch can serve a different purpose, and none of them have to be perfect
Just started kettlebells. At times I worry about one getting away from me and dropping it on the rug covered wood floor. Have you ever accidentally dropped a kettlebell?
No, but it's a concern since I train with bare feet.
I wonder, when do you say you are no longer having watches obsession and now it is called addiction?
Second question: How do you making yourself dedicated to work on your weight loose when i'm like 60lbs overweight over 50 years old already with a long heart issues in the family. (no one passed 60)
Question #3
How di we make you to do what's called State Of Collection Video?
I should have a SOC soon. If I were you, I'd walk every day for an hour if possible and eat a whole-food Mediterranean diet.
Sometimes, things just are what they is! I have a couple of very nice watches, Green Willard, SKX 007, etc. And its all cool man. I got life, what time is left, to live. Watches a quick break, a diversion! Now its time to go back to life. No messiah, Guru, book, or method. It just is. Life told you that your attention was needed.
tread carefully McMahon! i don't think I could be a dad sounds... anxiety inducing
Stay strong McMahon. Remodeling is never easy. It's worth the end product. Also, don't cheap out, it will only cost you down the road when you need to redo things.
I wonder if any bodybuilders watch and subscribe to your channel.
