  • Wearing my Seiko SPB143, I explore the possibility that we don't end chaos in our lives; we merely manage it.

I would gladly watch you sample watches while eating peanut butter puffins. Make it a Netflix show or podcast and call it "managing chaos on the hamster wheel of crazy'. 😅😅🤣
Thank you for the kinds words BTW. I was indeed into The Man From U.N.C.L.E., they would show reruns endlessly in the UK during the 90s. But I grew up more in the X-files, Bottom, Frasier, Blackadder and DS9 generation.

Podcast might be more suitable for my content. So you did indeed watch The Man from UNCLE. The influence is real.

I did intermittent fasting for years. It's something that I'd like to get back into, as I felt like I had more mental clarity during the process. It is great for weight management too.
Always happy to see an upload McMahon!

TGV the legend, what a great group of followers you have McMahon.
Chaos or entropy? Chaos has a negative short term connotation for me, while entropy is unavoidable and never ending, such that I treat it as inspiration. Isochronism seems more chaotic, but that 143 is a beaut!
I don’t eat from 9pm to 10 am, and sometimes it goes until noon, and it feels great once you get used to it. For me, it gives my body a break from the insulin response that starts a cascade of chaos that can lead to what I see in most of my patients who are either pre diabetic or on their way, and at 51, I am the same weight as when I was 18. Dump the alcohol if you drink, and start the morning with a shot of apple cider vinegar with the Mother in water, and you are another step ahead.

I think you should definitely go for the SLA043 , it's one of my personal Seiko grails too, it's an absolute stunner! That dark blue sunray dial with the baby blue seconds hands and the 62 mas case design in ever brilliant steel, oh my , breathtaking !

    • @clintonshiells3095
      @clintonshiells3095 26 днів тому

I would second this thought, as an owner of the SLA043. Not only is it a stunner but it has the 8L35 movement, which in my case is running about 2 seconds a day fast and is very stable in its timekeeping. As to chaos, entropy is nondecreasing, so the increasing chaos is very fundamental. At a certain point, we just have to embrace it.

@@clintonshiells3095 A lot of casuals, Seiko haters and watch enthusiasts who don’t know a lot about Seiko like to shit on Seiko’s SLA offerings and their limited edition saying that Seiko are out of their mind selling a watch at 3-4k dollars with an unregulated 8L35 movement with a rating of -10 to +15 seconds a days , and that they would rather buy a Tudor with a COSC certified movement at that price. But as all Seiko enthusiasts know , Seiko under promises and over delivers. The 8L35 movement is an absolute workhorse movement, tried and tested for a good few decades now , has been improved with the spron mainspring and mems technology on the parts , is an extremely stable movement In real life with very little positional variance , and will run at the same accuracy for a decade or more with no drop in performance cuz that’s what Seiko /Japanese watch making always prioritises, Longevity!

Personally, I'm not sure if he'd be happy with it!
I have one and I love it, but it's a little smaller than the 143 he's got and I'm afraid he'd find it too small.

I have monkey brain which you eluded to in a previous video. I’m reading some Eckart Tolle, the Power of now to manage my inner chaos. Btw the best Cap’n Crunch was crunch berries, but let them soak in the milk for a minute- otherwise the roof of your mouth will be destroyed. I’m sure u know this.

@@JeffreyMcMahon by itself yes but it was last in the rotation behind the crunch berries, the PB and regular CC. They had a marketing campaign in which aliens tried to soggify everything on earth but CC was resistant to soggification-you need to do a video on soggification resistant watches. 🤣

Shout out to King Vitaman! With Quisp a close second.
I've been doing intermittent fasting for over a year typically 14-10, but many times more. It's great for keeping the weight off or maintaining weight. The down side is a tendency to lose muscle if you don't get exercise or are inactive.
I've found it has other advantages! Improved sleep and also I found my dental situation improved as well.

On intermittent fasting. I have been doing it for years. Yes, it probably doesnt help that much over longer periods for weight loss, because the body works it all out after a year or so. But, my personal belief is that it gives youe body a break from digesting food, whcih allows it to work out and assist with other areas of the body. Its a definite net gain, even without weight loss.

Break from the chaos. I need to lose 10kg, to stop eating those biscuits and seconds servings of pasta, and to just not buy any more watches! I'm down to a square G shock and a little 36mm smiths PRS-29A. That little guy is my daily and the G shock is the tank l bring out when necessary...
This is my calm and relaxed state. My warm bath, my holiday away from my daily life....i hope the madness doesn't find me again any time soon...
But i know that some day, maybe even tomorrow, it will return

Take a pill to control ones appetites and flatten the graphic equaliser of life. Somewhat cowardly. Without chaos, life would be very boring.
The Powermatic 80 in the Rado is not a good movement. It's been detuned and dropped to 3Hz to reach 80 hours. Part of the escapement is plastic. I've owned 2, and both became unreliable. I'm not a 6R fan, but at least it'll go on forever.
I love This Watch, That Watch. Also ID Guy for intelligent watch content.
