- Wearing my Seiko Tuna SBBN049, I interrogate the claim that Ozempic might cure us of our addictions. My novel The Secret Life of Watch Addicts is available on Kindle:

I’ve been completely hooked on your videos. I watch them every day.
At first I thought you would be another crazy off the hook UA-camr rambling. Like Archie luxury or something.
Then I realized that you have deep insights that resonate with me. A true philosopher. You are teaching me more about life, through the context of watches. 👏
Exactly how I feel, hooked!
I just love hearing you elucidate this crazy obsession of ours. Giving names to the principles of watch collecting, etc. It’s great stuff. I don’t know that there are any other UA-camrs who do this other than you, McMahon! 😊
When it comes to the format, do whatever you enjoy the most. I already treat most of your videos as a podcast, listening while I'm working, doing chores, or relaxing. That being said, it sounds like you prefer the "behind the desk" format, and I'm happy to keep seeing that.
It's funny that you mention "A Clockwork Orange", as that was the first movie that my current girlfriend and I watched on our second date. She picked it, and I was surprised that she made that decision. Not exactly date night material, haha.
I think that there is an Ozempic for watches. It's getting your grail watch. Sure, it's not quite the same analogy, but getting that grail has killed my desire to buy more watches. Hell, it caused me to sell/give away a large chunk of my collection. I'm looking at the next watch, but not seriously, despite the ability to buy it without it hurting my wallet all that much. I've just been so satiated by grail that I don't need more.
Love the video McMahon! Catching up on the weekend uploads after a hectic holiday.
Its all about that battle with your desires. Life is about the journey, not the destination. Ozempic takes away the journey.
It is no longer "self-control" when you use medication to control yourself.
Right. Which is why there’s no such thing as a regimen & nobody’s ever voluntarily gone off their meds. 👍
Make a movie like the Hangover where the guys wake up and all their Rolex’s are missing and they have to find them before they get to the watch meet up.
I like it. Or they wake up with their drab watches replaced with Grails, but their lives fall into disarray.
The idea that a pill can change how I buy watches. It's astonishing.
I've read Brave New World. Like 1984, the books stopped being fiction years ago. Terrifying and ghastly.
Great choice on holding off on the podcasting. Your videos and content are educational and simply great 👍🏻
As a fellow “watch obsessive” I was completely satisfied staring at a mesmerising watch while listening to your presentation - if I am completely honest I frequently lose productive time staring at my own modest watches
Agree with you 100%. My dr was pretty excited when I experienced an interest in Ozempic. My insurance company not so much. Having desires and appetites and managing them is part of being human, as is being different in many ways from one another.
He’s not the most excellent writer, (but creates compelling work nonetheless) - David Weber’s Honor Harrington series (Sci Fi set 2000 years in the future) does a deep dive into UBI’s disastrous effects on one system of planets. Plus it’s great space military sci-fi.
I find the watch potency principle very useful, have been using it the last few weeks to guide my collecting and rotation. Part of it entails learning to let go of certain pieces that were once part of the daily life but have been superceded through the collecting journey.
The film, her is well recommended. It really draws you in and it's very thought provoking and emotional.
So, the best advice would be-
Don’t start a watch collection…
Yet- I don’t know if could even work.
It wouldn’t on me😉
New channel, Jeffrey at the stove, Food Journey with Jeffrey, shot from your left so that we can see what watch you are wearing. That may require a new watch that you wear while cooking.
Congratulations Jeff 10k 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Those 24 minutes flew by for me, occasionally watching that 023 second hand hitting its indices and going back and forth with my own 300m obsession as to how it would fit on my wrist and picturing wearing it during various activities. It seemed planned out perfectly, as if I needed to see it.
From your description of the accident, I was expecting a large laceration with some kind of disfigurement, but it’s barely noticeable.
Ozempic is linked to muscle loss. Is having a nice watch living life to its fullest? The guys storming the beaches of Normandy lived fully with $10 Timex
Good point
You’re the best🖤
"Precious bodily fluids"
That video was great. Nothing wrong with it all. I often listen to YT without watching the video. So I didn’t even know that your video was a static image. I’m listening to your content.
I just ordered another g shock
Winners don’t do drugs mcmahon, it’s all about self control. Anyway, I’m off to buy the new Tudor pelagos fxd in black . No I’m not, yes I am, i really want it, but I can’t decide 😳
I liked looking at the watch. Just wanted it to be in focus. So don’t sweat showing watches to watch nerds.
No drugs for me. If I live to the average age and I can keep it to one watch a year for the next twenty years that’s only twenty watches.
I just nodded along knowingly to "transcendent peanut butter cookie."
TF is happening on this watch channel?😂💯
I like the videos that are all SLA marinemaster 300. It should have been longer.
Mr. McMahon, what grade do you give me on the research comment I left? Be honest, I did it on my phone too 😅
I also messaged several people to get you a good deal on that watch to no avail. Sounds like you'll be fine without my help!!😉 Just be patient and you'll find one! 😊
Lmao i dont know if this is high level satire or genuine insanity
It’s not a cure for your watch collecting if you have free healthcare.🇨🇦🤘
Got that frogman yet?
Not yet. Love to borrow one
Stick to the format, like looking at the Seikos…
