In Episode 6 of the Fight Club, Obelisks, Shock Troopers, Technicians, Attack Dogs, Mammoth Tanks, Flamethrowers, Riflemen, Grenadiers, Rocket Soldiers, Stealth Tanks, Volkov, Chitzkoi, Tanyas, The Gauntlet, Soviet MCV, Allied MCV fight to the death in the arena. Historians were wrong, USSR fell because of a massive traffic jam.
...and putting all their defence turrets on the wrong end of the base XD.
I was so sure that they had that one too.
When the Ally Construction Yard fell, I thought the Soviets had it, but nope, traffic jam!
It's a perfect analogy to the inefficiencies of a planned and centralized economy :)
This is why Stalin built those super-mega highways I guess.
That cheeky stealth tank attack that was unexpected but awesome
The Sowjet vs Allied battle 6:06 is interesting. At the beginning it seems to be equal forces.
6:34 Sowjet Ai builds second tank factory at the front and starts to win. 7:51 Allies lose headquarter it seems that the Allies get defeated soon. But first Sowjet factory has traffic jam which started before at 7:30 by damaged tesla tank stopping before the barracks. (This is the start of the catastrophe for the Sowjets)
7:40 the damaged tesla tank continues to drive to the front, but the AI is not able to calculate the paths for the further tanks in the traffic jam. 8:09 Allies kill the front factory from the Sowjets. Sowjet tank factory in the back still can not produce because of traffic jam. This means allies fight again Sowjet infantry production only.
8:36 Sowjet loose Headquarter. Sowjets tanks are still in traffic jam. An overwhelming Allied force has accumulate in the middle of the map.
9:03 Sowjet lose power plant and have not enough power for Tesla coil. Nearly at the same time Sowjets lose last Tesla coil. With not enough electrical power, the Sowjet tank production gets slower.
9:18 Allies capture one of the 2 Sowjets barracks. It gets destroyed by Sowjets flame towers.
9:29 Allies fight against a single Sowjet barracks and a tank factory.
9:37 Sowjets lose last tank factory.
9:51 Sowjets lose last barracks and Allied win
Conclusion: Sowjets lost the war because of traffic jam ^^
So, basically the same thing that happened when the Soviets fought Finland.
@@moonlite_ It's a little known fact that the Soviets lost their war in Afghanistan due to a traffic jam in Minsk in mid-1984.
Also it was sad when they built bunch of Tesla towers in the back, where they were useless, and power plants in the front, where they got destroyed instantly..
Yeah it was obvious the Soviets AI vehicles got clogged up, and the Tesla coils all at the back. Be interesting to play this through several times to see what the average win rates turn out to be.
Interestingly enough the tesla tank at 7:30 was damaged by a single light tank that did a suicide run from across the map. Also the large number of power plants the soviets needed to build to power tesla coils made traffic jams a lot more likely.
I'm surprised the technicians held their own against the dogs. I thought it was going to be a 1 way massacre
So was I honestly, but I guess dogs have almost zero defence so it makes some sense.

Somehow, we need to mod an obelisk in Red Alert with the exact same stats, and do a 10 obelisks vs 10 tesla coils battle

omg, that base fight was surprising as hell! i would love to see more of that with different scenarios. e.g. a 1 vs 1 vs 1 fight, a team fight or special maps with prebuilt bases.
That Allied comeback in the final battle was amazing.
The gauntlet challenge: mammoth gets stuck at beginning. End up losing
Soviet vs ally mcv: tanks stuck in front of the factory right when soviets were slowly winning.

I feel like the Rocket Soldier vs Stealth Tanks would've ended very differently if the tanks did not spawned minigunners.

In a lot of these "vehicle vs infantry" battles the remaining rifle infantry (after a vehicle gets destroyed) often favours the battle for the vehicles

1:00 those infantry men to their grand children: I witnessed the battle of the obelisks. It was a blood bath ... but in the end ... we prevailed.

I feel like the thumbnail to this video should change to the allied Vs Soviet MCVs. The thumbnail battle is great but the one I'm describing is one of the most epic C&C Battles I've seen.
Too many tesla coils combined with traffic jams reversed a guaranteed victory for the soviets.

Now that I realize it, the final battle is a good retelling of what happened in the campaign story.
Soviets dominate early, nearly wiping out the Allies.
Allies make a turn around in the end and wipe out the Soviets.

That last fight was great, just wished the traffic jam didn't happen!
The last one needs a redo, the Soviet AI suffered two aneurysms, first they put all their base defenses in the back, as if the cliff would attack them, then they just stood there for no reason.
That last one had me on the edge of my seat thinking typical... oh... oh??? whaat???!!!

That Allied barracks placement combined with unstoppable spamming of infantry(mostly this tho, as there is a good chance the soviet AI would make a build something there anyways), won that matchup for the Allies. If those uints could have gotten out, it was a Soviet victory easy. Great idea! Do more of them, and keep a tally.
I would not have thought Technicians get a fair fight. After all, they don’t appear to shoot enemies on sight.
Repeat that first battle in Red Alert and you will only need 1 tesla coil as it will detonate all the flame troopers and grenediers.
Shock troopers vs. Tanyas and MCVs would probably end differently if recast.
Loved that last base fight.
That infantry vs obelisk fight is what I assume every engagement with Reapers looked like in Mass Effect 3.
MCV battle was definetly interesting- i would love to see similar battle play out on map with water as well.
at first it started off with allies gaining slight advantage, then soviets just pushing out troops more strong and start to overwhelm then, but after allied CY gets destroyed, allies start to push back (im guessing that in addition to soviet traffic jam, its also caused by fact AI now focuses more on building troops) and eventually win
I also noticed that allied AI focuses more on effective unit production, whereas soviet AI built defense before power

The final battle is awesome and is basically the WW2 all over again. Loss due to some Logistics bullshit. Remember, Logistics are important! :)

The last battle: top10 anime twists
Funny to know that if it was a mass Medium/Mammoth rush against those Obelisks, the latter would actually stand a decent chance of winning - especially if they weren't being surrounded.
The 2 MCV battle was awesome! there should be 4 now shouldn't there?
Also, I want to figure out how to make the battles like the final one.

Is it possible to have online matches with the 'free' mod? That must be absolute chaos! Could be a lot of fun I suppose...?
I know that C&C Generals had Unlimited £ in multiplayer a couple of times, whilst the game was still new.
Sadly my copy of the game is missing, as otherwise I'd seek out the details for why.
Maybe if the Soviet AI wasn't stupid and built their Tesla Coil next to the allied base, it would have gone the other way

I’ve played hundreds of rounds where a Soviet team bottlenecks themselves like that last round...
