1 Minelayer vs 499 demo trucks. Who wins? Epilepsy. Epilepsy wins. Edit: it would also be nice to see what the units have for their target priorities. In the free units round (Rocket soldiers, rangers, flamethrowers, tanks), all units seemed to go for the rangers first, before it turned around and they all went for the tanks. Maybe it depends on which side has the defensive structures most intact?
I had my money on rockets but wanted light tanks to win. I was certain rangers and flamers would go down! They do have some weird attacking habits though.
I suspected Light Tanks; though had the A.I. run through the enemy units and targetted their opponents' buildings in waves, they'd have won by default.
@@StuGames In the beginning I thought the shock troopers will obliterate the ants but I didn't know the red ones have good armour so I lost that one and the last one betting on the rocket soldiers. I thought the flamethrowers will self-destruct their base.
That last FFA's result was unexpected. I was expecting the flamethrowers to team kill themselves. The FFA AI behaviour is also weird in that they take turns ganging up 3 vs 1 rather than a true FFA.
The way they work is that if someone attacks one of their buildings, they go defend it and then retaliate against the attacker! In the beginning one of the rangers shoots at a green factory, making the light tanks retaliate.
@@cydonianmystery5193 I actually really liked the "tactic changes" in that match. Ironically i tipped flame thrower at the beginning and laught at them losing 2 barracs to them self. I also liked the final idea: hmm, those rockets are rather harmless, just ignore them. (And kill them with our death)
Red Alert 2 had that instance of all the AI ganging up on you with default settings, and it was only in Yuri's Revenge where you could actually set up pre-determined teams! Even then, the enemy always attacks your base and never your AI allies.
Its interesting how the flamethrower teams biggest weakness seemed to be that with more than 4 barracks, they would hit a "critical mass" point and make a large explosion. At 4, they were coming out slowly enough that the death of one didn't blow up half the map.
4:14 - the fact that the Minelayer has survived with just a red sliver of health left only makes it even more amazing. 10:28 - I asked for one of these in a previous video so thank you for including a kill counter, it's amazing to see how big these battles get!
Driver : Guys, i dun think we can win this one, how about we go hide in the mountains till the war ends, no one will be alive to report we deserted our battalion... Infantryman 1-4: ok Driver: Alright, no going back now- oh, we actually won ?
Perhaps the funniest thing is that in the last battle, every so often you're met with a loud *HEY!* whenever another cluster of flamethrowers blow up. It's like sweet music, a hip-hop track of fiery self-ownage.
Hehe don't play with fire, as it says. Sure that the flamethrowers are playing with fire alltime and they also burn down many teammates but they were the fire units,, and they won.
It's so tremendously funny that red AI lost so many buildings even if not a single enemy projectile was fired at them. Bigger thread than a explosion truck those flamethrower troopers
Nice. I had a feeling the Flamerthrowers would pull it off somehow, despite being left completely open multiple time when they all exploded . They were lucky Yellow and Green were to focused on each other. Because the vehicles had no chance of beating the Rocket Soldiers. The Flamerthrowers were the only ones who could beat the Rocket Soldiers. They just had to avoid destroying themselves until then.
I was rooting for the flamethrowers, I knew the rangers would be screwed and light tanks don't deal enough damage to infantry. R.I.P to all the flamethrower dudes lost in this video
I had the same prediction like you. The light tanks werent strong enough against those infantries. And the best case scenario for the rangers could not have been better than 2nd.
That last battle was epic, I thought the light tanks would crush it then I thought yellow would be out first. Those flamethrower chain reactions were hilarious, setting fire to the forests and blowing up their own structures.
Great video, surprised by the last one, and also that the v2's managed to beat the chrono tanks eventually! Thanks again for making these, they are a highlight of my YT alerts. Enjoy the coffee!
Round 1: Grenadiers (predicted correctly, they’re standing apart) Round 2: Ants (predicted correctly, knew the Warrior Ants are tough and can take more punishment) Round 3: Tesla Tanks and Dogs (wrong prediction, forgot the Tesla Tank have light armor property) Round 4: Minelayer (predicted correctly, with such a deliberate setup, hard not to see where this was going lol) Round 5: Soviets (predicted correctly, Allied armor is just inferior and Chrono Tank is overrated, expensive yet mediocre damage and armor) Round 6: rocket soldiers (predicted correctly, the AI for helicopters are shit and have 5 ammo limit before reloading, in the few seconds the Hind pivots and take aim, the rocket soldier has already let off a couple of early shots) Round 7: wasn’t sure but was betting Flame Throwers gonna be the biggest loser (wrong prediction, a surprise to be sure... I always believe they’re a bigger danger to themselves than to their enemies)
I had been right with rounds 1 and 2, 3rd caught me off 4th through 6th I correctly guessed. I had thought it would be the Light Tanks or the Rangers winning but I was wrong.
3:42 EPILEPSY WARNING! Damn, what a blast! I like how one nuclear truck sets of a chain reaction, just like A-bombs themselves do. Alas the mine layer will likely die briefly from radiation poisoning, but atleast this happened far away from major settlements.

Every time on the cross map, the units on the bottom spot always just charge straight across the field to the farthest enemy. They ignore the units closest.
That FFA was hilarious, who would've thought that red would end up winning after being the first to lose buildings. Btw, I wonder how the grenadier X rifleman would end if the grenadiers were the attackers.

Do everything's free 4 or 3 or 2 against each other on different maps please bro! Its always interesting to watch. Thanks :)
That flame army losing 85% of it's units every 10 seconds is hilarious.
I know right? I still almost can't believe the outcome of that match lol
@@akikoyoshizawa8445 red was just denying them exp and gold obviously
They really need to make flamethrowers more user friendly.
Glorious Red Army doctrine at its best
Ah flamers, you are teh suck.
Did not expect that last result lol, was totally thinking Rockets or Light Tanks were gonna win it!

sorry for ruining everyone's prediction score with that last fight 😉

Same. I thought the flames were going to burn themselves out with their own aoe
@@StuGames In the beginning I thought the shock troopers will obliterate the ants but I didn't know the red ones have good armour so I lost that one and the last one betting on the rocket soldiers. I thought the flamethrowers will self-destruct their base.
That last match had me in stitches:
95% casualty rating = flawless victory.
Just the way Stalin likes it.
Just act dumb and everyone wouldn't target you.
Smart move by Flamethrower.

I like how the AI, when given unlimited resources, just resorts to pulling strategies out of Zap Brannigans Big Book of War.
Hilarious comment! XD
I have no idea what that book is but now i want to read it lol.
The AI may be dumb as a brick, but it's a brick that just keeps throwing itself at you until you or it breaks

(Spoiler) I love how in the last one the flamethrowers only got stronger the less there were XD
That's my Sovietzki brothers lol
The only unit where critical mass is a bad thing lol
Their population needs to be culled.
They burned down less teammates(but the same amount of enemies) when they became less lol. Which in the end became an advantage.

Epilepsy warning!!!!! Lol
A seizure warning would be good for so many nuke explosions like those trucks.
Also one that reads "Warning, blindness from atomic flashes might occur". XD
But jokes aside, that could cause seizures.
Stu, I said I'm mind blown by the Demo Truck's explosion animation but sure as hell I did not ask for an epileptic fittttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!
"Should we use our teleportation to go past the heavy tanks and attack the rocket launchers from behind?"
"Not unless the player micros harder."

The first round: what if grenadiers were the attacking side?
Btw great idea with score screen after free for all segment
The grenadiers would clump up and kill each other with their death explosions, making them lose pretty badly!
It's so tremendously funny that red AI lost so many buildings even if not a single enemy projectile was fired at them. Bigger thread than a explosion truck those flamethrower troopers

It just needed some other units mixed in to sweeten things.

Also: How about Iron Curtained units? ;-) .
Love how the flame thrower guys almost kill their own base
Fixed! Costs me 5 shots did that last result 😅 Great drinking game.
That one minelayer . . . THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!
I never would have thought the flamers could win! I expected the light tanks or rocket troopers to mince them.
