    I LOVE the story of how Clement and Peggy got engaged! When he said it was quite by accident, I was trying to think "how do you propose by accident?"

    Clement and Peggy are precious. Reminds me of how heartbreaking Alzheimer's is for friends and family. Sometimes the best we can do is hold hands. Always remember that every patient has a history. Bob is a cheeky hoot and Matt is just lovely. The brothers are typical siblings; can't give a break to each other.

    My Dad was 65 when i was born, so i relate to Matthew with the comments at school. I wouldnt have had in any other way tho. He was the most loving person in my life and we never went without or felt like we were missing out on anything. From a very young age i remember the conversations we had, he never sugar coated that he wouldnt be around to see me grow up. He passed at 80 when i was 15 ❤

I told my daughter DO NOT let them put one of those things in me please. I would rather take my chances without one. My daddy was much older than my momma so everyone thought he was my Grandfather.

    About 75% of the patients are elderly people. Before, they used to be living with their families, under their constant watchful eyes. That way they weren’t collapsing and laying for hours alone, or falling down stairs and breaking their hips ect ect. That’s one way society has changed for the worse, I think.

      I wish! They rarely get blood on first try, and my veins blow as soon as they see a needle. Nurses hate trying to get blood. Once I was in for my labs The nurses could not get blood. They finally found one vein that didn't blow. Had urine test yesterday, they had to give me two 16oz water to get any. I had fasted, thinking that I had labs.

    • @Grace-xi1zg
      @Grace-xi1zg 4 місяці тому +1

      Get a numbing product from the pharmacy yourself and talk to the nurses about when to use it, it worked for my niece who is terrified of injections 😊. Always drink water before any blood test unless strictly forbidden. Getting anything into, or out of, a vein without good hydration is a trial for you and the nurses.

    • @luanngordon8639
      @luanngordon8639 4 місяці тому

      @@Grace-xi1zg I have tried it all. With blood work I can't drink or eat. Dr.tries to get me in as close to 8am as possible. Same as with my sister. We always seem to leave our veins at home.

    It really surprises me that they allow people to eat in the emergency room. What if you suddenly need surgery? They allow my stepdaughter to eat before a procedure and she got aspiration pneumonia. She ended up with a breathing tube.

    • @junbh2
      @junbh2 4 місяці тому

      Most people don't need surgery though. And even if they do, they may have eaten right before they got hurt anyway.

    • @HolidayGlow
      @HolidayGlow 3 місяці тому

      If they schedule a surgery they certainly prefer you don't but just as if you were in an emergency such as a car crash or gunshot where you had to have immediate surgery, you CAN manage it if they've eaten. It's just more tricky and risks complications they'd prefer to avoid if possible. Most of the people who will need rushing into emergency surgery asap are not toddling in and sitting in the waiting room... they're triaged and get fast tracked where they won't be eating or are urgent enough they'll use extra protocols if they have.

    Annoys me when a doctor walks in to the cubicle, doesn't acknowledge the patient's family member or try to build rapport before just rambling on about what they're going to do. I understand that they're busy but a few seconds of politeness will go a long way. Some doctors just don't have good bedside manners.

      Remember...this is TV ...it is scripted and edited. Very expensive to waste story time on PR with family. The PR serves no purpose to move the story line along.
