Sheri- your cardinal piece is beautiful, as is all your stitching. Can I give my opinion? We can get stuck thinking we have to stitch the designers interpretations exactly or else we are 'wrong'. But actually so many motifs in cross stitch - especially old samplers, quakers, etc are really just loose interpretations of flowers, animals, and birds. If this designer had charted that cardinal without legs you would have stitched it as designed and not given it a second thought. Honestly I paused your video and looked and looked but didn't see anything wrong - most people would never know our mistakes if we didn't point them out. Give yourself some grace and enjoy the beauty of this piece - the stitching and the framing. It's lovely!
Thank you Nan!
The Quaker in honor of your Dad is simply exquisite! Just gorgeous!
Unless I had the pattern right next to me I would have never seen the missing legs-lovely work
In my opinion, if a piece is framed and you see a mistake, please don't point it out. If you don't point it out no one will ever know.
Quick thought... enjoy your cardinal as is. The landing gear is always up until you are ready to land. Maybe your guy is just passing through ✈️🤟💕
Happy New Year! Maybe think about the “hovering cardinal” like quilters do with mistakes in their quilts……it’s a humility point and only God is perfect. I would leave it and embrace it.
I hate it when people point out others missteps. That cardinal looks great. It looks like it's nesting. Probably sitting on a translucent pile of snow on that wreath. You are so kind to share your beautiful stitching with us, with many helpful hints you've learned along the way.
Enjoy the season; lovely video.
Love your floss tube. The piece that you did in memory of your father was beautiful. What a work of art to be cherished. Always like seeing what you’re up to. Happy stitching.
Sheri - I just love you little knitted Santa’s laundry. So stinking cute! And the Modern Samplery for you dad - breathtaking. Thanks for all you share! 🪡🩷
Thank you!
Thank you, Sheri, for all you do! I love your dad’s sampler. Just beautiful! I personally would not take the frame off to stitch the cardinals feet. I probably would always notice it, but we are not perfect, only God is! My mom told me that years ago, that the Amish ladies would often intentionally sew a block wrong in their quilts for that reason. I would just give thanks to God for his many blessings each time I saw and remembered it. Drum. 😊
I love that sentiment, Julie. Thank you!
I think your cardinal is ready to take off and his feet are tucked underneath him! Your work is gorgeous and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing and offering the drum as a gift.
Well I like that explanation better than any I've heard - thank you!!
Sherri let the cardinal go! It gives your piece character and makes it personal to you enjoyed seeing all your finishes. Drum roll!
Your dads memorial sampler is Gorgeous . Such lovely stitching and wips. Great FT
Thank you, Linda!
I’ve not made a drum yet. I’m currently working on a By Annie bag…everything in its place. So fun…I may make 2…or at least additional pages to swap out!
Don’t worry about the Cardinals legs. Drum. It was really fun to see what you have finished and are working on. Take care!
Oh my goodness that blue sampler in honor of your father is truly a labor of love. 💕
Thank you, Cyndy!
I LOVE that the Cardinal is hovering like an angel!! Let him hover! 😊
"hovering like an angel" - ok, that is the best thought and might actually convince me to leave it! 😂
Love your Floss Tubes with all your wonderful stitching and plans. Love the cardinal as he is.
I totally missed the missing legs/feet on the cardinal. I thought he just had them tucked under him in the very cold winter weather. However, only you can decide what you can live with. Such great floss tubes. Keep them up and stay warm👏🏻🎶💕
Thank you, Cathy!
Great video! Love all your finishes and stitching! Your long dog in memory of your father is beautiful! I love how you incorporated his name and information into the piece! Your plans sound great for 2025!
Thank you, Dee!
Hi Sherrie: I hope that 2025 is a wonderful year for you and your Family. I am not good at making a journal but you have inspired me just a little to give it a try. Love Anna Belle, so cute. Santas Laundry Line is a hoot, I am with you I use two threads on 36 count fabric, lovely progress on your new starts, love the color thread you used for Family Patchwork, so pretty, congratulations on the finish. You have a great eye for the perfect frames, your pillows are so sweet. Thank-you for the information on ROC product. My husband still has his old suitcase, I love it, I am looking forward to seeing this case transformed.
Oh my gosh I remember Country Store design; I like it on the lighter color fabric you chose. The Teresa Kogut design so lovely, Mary Harry is a lovely design, you have so many sweet designs in the works. Congratulations to the winners. The Drum design is lovely.
The Robots are a hoot. See you soon.
Thank you, Catherine!
Your sampler for your dad is just gorgeous! 💚
Thank you, Denise!
Sheri I like all the patterns you have chosen to finish in 2025. I look forward to seeing them as FFOs. Drum roll!
It's my 3rd year getting your advent and it doesn't disappoint! So good! Love that it's not astronomical in price too.
So glad to see you have Avlea Cross-stitch kits & patterns now. I live Krista's designs. I've followed her for years and have stitched many of her patterns. Such a neat person and I love how she is trying to promote folk embroidery & stitching.
She's very talented and these kits are beautiful! (Thank you for your sweet words about our advent kits, too!)
Thank you so much for sharing your time and beautiful stitching with us. Love and blessings x
Love all your finishes and WIPs! About the cardinal...Don't beat yourself up for missing those few stitches. It's so beautiful as is.♥ Enjoy and move on to the next! I love the drum.
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video. Your cardinal is beautiful. He's setting in contemplation. The drum is beautiful, too! Love the robots. Happy stitching!
My heart is beating like a drum over your fabulous video. Thank you for all your time and effort. I’m inspired.
Watched your floss tube for the first time today, really enjoyed it. I really loved the drum….🎉
I'm so glad you found me - thanks for watching!
Peace to you! Let it go! Beautifully stitched and beautifully framed! It's not about perfection.
My first Floss Tube, I visited your shop last summer. I have finished several projects I purchased patterns for and I will be back in Spring to get some more. I would love to try the drum as I have never done one of these. I grew up in Lancaster County, Pa so I was immersed in PA Dutch so I love Lila's Studio and plan to finish Holiday Quaker this year. I loved the idea of the Christmas ornaments and will use her design to make a few for my tree. I am going to develop a Book of Days, I quilt, stitch and knit so I have great ideas for this year.
Your finishes are inspiring and your dad’s finish was especially beautiful. I enjoyed all of your pieces. Drum roll!
Thank you, Carol!
Your Cardinal is beautiful as is. ❤ All your patterns are awesome and I love the drum.
I would leave the cardinal as is. It’s unfortunate that someone commented cuz it is now hard for you to unsee. It looks beautiful to me. I don’t consider those as mistakes, I see them as confirmation that it was truly handmade. Perfection is over rated. Finished is better than perfect. Love all the stitching you share. Oooo…I do love the Drum.
Well, I probably would have noticed it eventually on my own!
Entertaining video! Thanks Sheri. The tribute sampler for your father is magnificent. What a treasure you created. And all the relative samplers you have in your queue are lovely. The cardinal dilemma I would take your own advice from early on in the video. If you feel something isn’t right, make it pleasing to you. And seeing you have a framer in your shop….I bet she will understand and help you fix it.😉
That cardinal needs to land!
I also want to share that I received an ember mug for Christmas this year. What a treat! And all thanks to it being one of your favorite things!
Enjoy January. I’ll be ready for camp plans in May.
TY 🥰 for all the beautiful shares and inspiration. Your cardinal is perfect and beautiful in its imperfect way.
Great video Sheri. I went straight for the caramels! Love your finishes and progress. Drum. 🌺🌷❤️
Your Dads sampler is so awesome and personalized the way you did.
Thank you, Patsy!
I love that you personalize your large pieces…it makes them so special and brings to mind each special person as if they’ve been there with you for a chat. Love, love your work. Thank you so much for sharing with us. DRUM. 🥰
Wow! Love the Sampler you stitched for your Dad. It is so amazing with how you made it so personalized. Someday I will make a Drum.
Loved my time "with you" today! Thank you for all your help with my 2024 projects. I'm ready for more stitching ;-)
Another wonderful Flosstube. Your voice is calming and your presentation is inspiring. My word for 2025 is ‘DONE’. Is it, when will it, I’m, finally, not yet! I have Cardinals in my yard. They are hunched up from the cold temps so you can’t see their legs.
My word of the year is also focus. For years my husband drum (s) focus on one project to complete what you have.
I love getting to visit the shop when I'm up in Fort Collins visiting my CSU student. Can't wait to check out the new stickers! Drum
Enjoyed my time I spent watching your flosstube. I would like the cardinal alone. Drum
When you talked about the caramels, it reminded me that when you had the Loopy Ewe you put in 5 little Tootsie Rolls with orders, and my husband alway knew I was getting more yarn when he'd see that little pack of them.
We went through thousands and thousands and thousands of Tootsie Rolls! 🤣
Beautiful stitches and samplers! Your family portrait sampler for your father is amazing!! 😊 I want to stitch a drum.
The sampler for your dad is so beautiful. I love all the personalizations that you added. Drum
Thank you, Shawn!
For my opinion on the cardinal with no legs...I would unframe it and do the legs for the poor bird. I'm a bird watcher, so I would go back to put his legs in. It may seem like a lot of trouble but you'll be happy that you did. Your stitching is wonderful and I love the projects you are working on. You are doing great! Your trip to Germany was great to see, so thank you for the Instagram posts!
The sampler that you did to honor your Dad is so beautiful! What a treasure! I love how you personalized it.
Amazing projects! Wow😮 ok here goes: don’t stitch the cardinals legs I looked and looked and didn’t notice it! My all time most fave piece is the MFE piece you did for your dad! Every detail is so touching! Love it so much! Ok about your readers: I ordered “Peepers” online, progressive readers! Reader on the bottom and clear on top and cute and affordable, game changer for me! Thanks for all the fun inspiration❤❤❤
Thanks for the Peppers progressive info - I will check into that! (And thanks for your kind words about my dad's sampler.❤)
I love the Cardinal as is...I couldn't even find your mistake! The drum is beautiful.
I cannot drum up much heart to suggest you take apart that lovely framing job to add legs to the cardinal. I think you should leave it as it is and move on. This from a recovering perfectionist! Thank you for another lovely segment.
I love your little word pillows. Cozy is so cute but I may have to buy that one and more. I enjoyed the kiddo.
Great video. My word of the year is "Change." And I also love blue and greens together and my favorite color combination. That drum project is so cute. New subscriber now. Blessings from Kansas.
Absolutely love the MFE piece dedicated to your Dad!
Thank you, Beth. I love it too!
The sampler for your dad is beautiful
Love the Bots! 🤖 ❤ Great patterns and stitching!
Wow! That sampler you did for yourself is GORGEOUS! And a great upcoming drum project for someone.
Wow beautiful drum
Sheri,
I have looked at your Peace and Good Will numerous times and I never noticed the cardinal’s legs were missing. It is beautiful. I don’t think I would disassemble it, but do what’s going to make you happy. You can see a mistake where something is hanging down in the first large project I ever did. I do see it when I look at it and remind myself not to let perfect be the enemy of the good.
I love the Cardinal as is. I did t even notice until you pointed it out. ❤
It was nice to see you again. Your finishes are beautiful. Drum
I love the cardinal. The frame is beautiful.
Hello, still watching your older floss tubes and am so glad I watched this one. I love Santa’s clothesline. Will definitely have to buy some of the word small. I usually pick a word to look for in my Bible study each year and some of the ones you have I have done. The drum is very pretty. Haven’t tried one yet. Anyways happy stitching
A feast for a cross stitcher tonight! I loved everything you showed us, your finishes, your favorites, your new charts, your family samplers, the huge hanks of floss, the stickers…OMG…. I need to find a new source of money 💰. Maybe I could raise some money standing on a corner beating a drum 🥁 . So glad to have you back from your wonderful trip. A fantastic flosstube…never too long😊. Thank you so much.😊
Ha ha - "I need to find a new source of money" - that cracked me up!
Love the robot buddies. Thank you sharing your stiching. The pillows are so cute. I would love to stich the drum.
I always enjoy seeing everything you have finished and what your working on. I always find charts I want to add to my list. Happy New Year! 🎉 drum
Girl..that cardinal is just flying by!! lol I would leave it alone. I get so caught up in mistakes and unless it is a real boo boo, I just leave it. People who do not cross stitch will not notice at all. And to be honest, I did not see that mistake when you asked us all to look. I like the stickers and little notes you have added to the shop.
Dear Sheri, hi this is my first comment to you. I love your sweater!♥️ I also love your calming voice, it’s so soothing to me. Thank you Sheri for sharing your beautiful stitching with all of us! Everything you do is simply gorgeous! Wishing you a wonderful year of stitching I will continue to follow you and enjoy all of your progress on projects. Again thank you!😘
Love the beautiful starts! The drum is so cute!
Another packed-with- goodness video. I have been contemplating a stitching project to honor my parental heritage for some time. While you were showing the drum, it reminded me of my dad who played drums and I have one of his used it as a small table. The stitchy gears are beginning to align. Happy 2025!
Hi Sheri,
I just love watching your channel. Your cross-stitching is just beautiful. Love seeing all of your pieces. However, the smalls are my favorites now. Doing large pieces for me just take too long and are a lot of work. May get back into doing them sometimes. I just love seeing the many different drums that are out there. One day I will get one done. We have at least 5 inches of snow here in MD on 1-06-2025. Love watching it from my sewing room. I am a quilter as well as a cross-stitcher. Keep stitching and having lots of fun.....☃⛄☃
Sounds like a lovely day to be tucked inside in your quilting room!
Happy new year! I always get such great ideas from your floss tube. I purchased a set of the little cards for my DIL. She is a school social worker, and was excited to take them to the office.😊
I love Santa's laundry line. So cute.
I couldn’t see the missing legs until you pointed them out. I gave up on perfection a long time ago. You see a hovering cardinal…I see a roosting cardinal. My hens are most content on their roosts so I would leave it as is. Another wonderful video!!!
Everything you showed was beautiful!! I love your Dad's sampler. He was born only a couple hours away from where I live. The Cardinal looks fine but I know it is hard and if you can not get over it you probably need to go back and stitch them. I love changes you made to Sip Stitch Repeat. The drum is so pretty!
Thank you, Kathy!
Thanks for the episode! What an adorable drum! :)
Have missed you! Loved all the loveliness!
Sheri, I love the drum and everything you showed this time.
I wouldn't take that beautiful piece apart to stitch the legs. I agree with another commenter - the bird has it's legs tucked up because it's cold! Your finishes are beautiful and those little pillows are so stinkin' cute!
Thank you, Patty!
Sheri your Dad's tribute, Family Patchwork is beautiful as is all your stitching. You have a good eye for colors. Happy New Year to you, thanks for a wonderful year of stitching and finishing.
Thank you, Robin!
Sheri- so much good stuff here- again thank you for sharing pictures of Germany- the Zweigart factory was amazing! Cozy is one of my favorite words too, along with comfort and cuddle, perfect words for winter (we are currently coated in a blanket of snow and ice). Your bird floating- first and foremost, do what will make you happy. I would probably leave it as a witness to the beautiful framing, and... my ' human-ness'. But, I also live by the old saying of 'if you make a perfect quilt, the angels will cry' , lol I don't believe there have been any tears shed over mine. I love the drum! Thanks again for all that you do and for sharing time with us.
Keep the cardinal as is. I didn’t see it until you mentioned it. It’s a beautiful stitch and beautifully framed. An expression with quilters is : “if you can’t see it galloping by on a horse, then it’s fine “. 😉
I am planning to do the 12 in 25 ornaments as well. It worked great last year! Santa's Laundry Line is adorable.
Amazing stitching! I loved the knitted Santa laundry too. I really stopped & look at the Peace and Love sampler for the “mistake’ but I could not find it. Then you mentioned it but I don’t know if anyone would pick that out. I mean samplers have baskets floating in the air. I think it is because you know it has legs that you noticed the omission. The personal sampler for your dad was stunning also. Thanks for sharing.
Your cardinal piece is absolutely lovely as is. In my opinion, it could be that the cardinal has just flown into the wreath, but has yet to land. Very fun video. Happy New Year! Drum
Sheri.. your stitching is soooo gorgeous!!!! I googled 🎉”Perching birds utilize a flexed posture with their legs tucked beneath the body” Do not “fix” your cardinal.. it’s absolutely perfect. Whomever felt the need to point that out.. shmhhh
Love your videos ❤❤.. so inspiring and I hope to visit your beautiful store one day. Thanks for sharing so much, Denise
I’m so excited to stitch your Comfy piece …. I love it! I’ve never made a drum, but it’s on my 2025 list to do!
Your tribute piece to your Dad is stunning. Your personalization is spot on. Great job!
Thank you!
I have never done a drum, it is adorable. I love your video's
I enjoyed hearing about your stitching plans for 2025. I like your idea of picking out the WIPS you want to finish this year, make progress and start this year. Looks like several of us have not stitch/finished a drum. I would like to make on this year too.
Love your floss tube. It is always informative as well as calming to listen and stitch. Love the drum. I haven’t tried that finish yet
In regard to the hovering cardinal … first of all, I’m sorry that a viewer made that comment 😢 because now you cannot unsee it. I would not take it all apart to stitch the legs. If it truly bothers you, maybe you could use a black or dark brown sharpie, with a very tiny point, and slowly and carefully, draw the legs. I don’t think anyone would be able to tell that it wasn’t stitched with one strand of thread. Love this FlossTube and all of your stitching, so beautiful! Happy New Year! 🎉
Well, to be fair, the viewer mentioned it when it was not yet framed. At that point, I would have loved to have known! But by the time I got to her comment, it was framed and done. Oh well!
Always enjoy your videos. Love the drum pattern.
Happy New Years to you! I am beating a drum for you to encourage you to stitch on all the beautiful pieces you have chosen to work on this year. I can't wait to see them on upcoming videos. ❄❄❄
I really enjoy seeing your stitching and much admire your patience and perseverance. I not longer stitch but fill my days with knitting and patchwork. Love Santa's laundry line. 🇬🇧
Love the piece you did for your dad!
Thank you for the free patterns! The new patterns all look like fun.
Thank you for a wonderful Flosstube. I am inspired!
I thoroughly enjoyed all you shared with us. Your father’s finish is stunning. I love the personalization. I got your advent for the first time this year and loved it. Looking forward to stitching your charts that were included. 1:20:54 I loved seeing items from Under the Woolen Willow also included. I love her designs. Thank you!
Your Dad's stitch is so pretty and the red house sampler you did for yourself is beautiful ❤️. I had a similar thing happen to me and I thought I could live with, not. So it's only something you can decide but it sounds to me it's bothering you. A trick I learned is to take a picture and look at it. You will be surprised how different it looks. I use that for cross stitch and quilting both. I have caught a number of things doing that. Happy New Year I wish for you and yours many blessings ❤
Great advice and I agree! I’ve taken a photo of my finished cross stitch and noticed a mistake/something missing. Now I make it a habit before FFO’ing.
Yes, good hint. I will do that in the future!
If you turn the photo to black and white or Sepia the missing stand out even more.
Happy New Year and welcome back. I would love to learn how to finish a drum as this is one of my goals for this year. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful stitching - absolutely gorgeous. Have a great week.
I love all of your projects. You’re a prolific stitcher. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to Germany and were able to visit the Zweigart factory. I’m excited every time I see that you’ve put out a new flosstube, all of your projects are awesome. Drum.
I was recently told about an Amish Signature. Some people put their initials on a finished piece and some make a ‘mistake’. Happy stitching!
Got my December Cat kit in the mail today. It’s going to be awesome. Thanks
