Excellent "No Non-Sense" Video Demonstration! This lens is my prime reason for keeping my D300… I've found out about "Vignetting" using it on my FX D750. So, my De Facto landscape photography session is with this combination of hardware...
I use this lens for both stills and video, and like it. However, the cine version of this lens goes for about $1,500, presumably because they don't sell as many.
I hardly use the manual focus so the automatic/manual focus ring does not bother me. And I would think that the AF/MF ring would be sturdier than a tiny AF/MF switch. I really like this lens. On sale most of the time for $399 at B&H. A good lens for a good price.
Informative and to the point. Thanks. Between Panasonic 8-18mm f2.8-4 for micro four thirds (G85) and this lens, which will be better in low light. I have d3300 in which I will be using this lens if I buy it.
Nice review, however it does not make a whole lot of sense trying to determine the sharpness of a lens with images taken at ISO 640. At this setting fine detail is already being destroyed. Use a tripod and ISO 100.
does this mean that if i use this lens on my glidecam, i wont need to recalibrate my glidecam everytime as i change the focal length? great review by the way, makes me want to trade off my rokinon 10mm to this one now!... because i always find it troublesome when i use other lens then i have to recalibrate whenever i change the focal length...
I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to manual focus with this lens. This is incredibly helpful!
Best Tokina 11-16 review on YT! Nice work!
Thanks for the review. I have this lens for my Canon 70D and shoot for a company that does kitchen/bathroom remodels. Very happy with it.

+Richard Haw I should totally look into that haha
I am very happy with this lens. I use it on a Canon 1D mark 3. APC-H sensor.

Great review man, but have you check out the tokina 11-20 2.8?

does it fit fullframe camera?
If you zoom in to 16mm, yes it does!
