@@Sammy_The_Umbreon (spoilers!) all of this is correct. And it’s clear that he’s also used to having this control - because he slips so often in front of, er, *Charlie* later lol.
(Spoiler!) Another thing I find hugely interesting is his relationship to the seraphims (Sera specifically). You'd think he'd be pretty unhappy having a 'manager' like Sera, but he seems pretty confortable in his position, not really trying to climb the ranks. He also looks to her for guidance when he's unsure (see: court room when he became unsure of how he got into heaven). That makes immediantly more sense if you remember that the early angels and god are the closest thing to a parental figure he has, with being the first human and all. It's also never mentioned in this story that he also ate from the fruit of knowledge, which would mean he never learned right and wrong, which would then fall to the angels to teach him their philosophy. I probably went off topic now, but Adam is just such a fascinating character to me.
Vaggie is Charlie’s gf. Don’t listen to people that say otherwise. Vivziepop confirmed it several times and in the show you’ll hear Vaggie call her babe. The theory as for why charlie’s dad had her go to the meeting instead is so that she could see herself that the angels and heaven wasn’t what she was imagining. There’s also the fact that Adam is Lilith’s ex, that would probably be awkward for Lucifer considering Lilith is now his wife. Also, all hellborn demons are exempt from extermination, not just Charlie and her family. Imps, hellhounds, and other hellborn demons get a pass because they didn’t do anything to get sent down there, they just happened to be born there. The only demons that get exterminated are the sinners (humans that sinned and went to hell when they died).
It's not just that. The official character introductions released last week, that are publicly available, already say that their girlfriends. The trailers also show them revealing their relationship to Charlie's dad (probably episode 5). So yeah, it's been confirmed by the creators for years, during the pilot and is now confirmed yet again. Anyone saying otherwise is the typical type of person.

I'm so happy you're finally checking out Hazbin Hotel, but be warned if you decide to react to the rest of the episodes put a trigger warning for SA when you react to episode 4.
Yeah, there are a few things to note about how Hell works in this universe. Firstly there are two major types of demons. The first are Sinners, who are humans who have been damned to Hell after death. When they arrive in Hell they gain a demonic form that usually reflects how they died and is designed to make them hate how they look. Alastor is a notable example, seeing how his demon form is that of a deer, referencing how he died in a deer hunting related accident. Sinners cannot reproduce, are confined to the Pride Ring of Hell and are biologically immortal. The only way they can be killed is through the use of blessed weapons, which angels use during the Extermination, explaining why Hell is so overcrowded. The second type of Demons are Hellborn, which are exactly what they sound like. These are demons that were born in Hell. They vary a lot depending on how high up the hierarchy they are, but the lower classes are able to be killed with regular weaponry, whilst royals need the blessed weapons described before. Charlie is the only Hellborn in the main cast of Hazbin, but the sister series, Helluva Boss focuses a lot more on how the lower and upper classes of Hellborn live in this world. The Hierarchy of Hell basically works like this, from highest to lowest: 1. Lucifer. A fallen Angel. The King of Hell and the Sin of Pride. 2. Lilith. The First Woman and Lucifer’s wife. The Queen of Hell 3. Charlie Morningstar. Their daughter. A smol bean. 4. The remaining Six Members of The Seven Deadly Sins. Asmodeus. Satan. Leviathan. Mammon. Beelzebub. Belphegor. They each run a ring of Hell, kinda like Dante’s Inferno. 5. The Ars Goetia. A collection of 72 noble Demon families with very strong magic and rigid sensibilities. 6. Overlords. Powerful demons who have come into being by providing necessary advancements to Hell. Alastor is the Overlord of Radio, because he brought the idea of radio with him to Hell when he died. 7. Sinners. Described above. 8. Hellborn demons. 9. Imps and Hellhounds. The lowest of the low. Often working class or even slaves.
@@limonlx7182Overlords are sinners who gained great power in hell, a good example is Zestial and Velvet in episode three, Zestial is the oldest overlord as he died centuries ago, while Velvet is the youngest, dying presumably in the modern day, both are from earth, they just used their wits, powers, and contracts with other weaker sinners to get strong enough to rule.
@@limonlx7182Um no, it’s the opposite of what you said. Only sinners can be overlords. He’s an overlord. Hellborns are either less powerful than overlords (like imps, hellhounds, succubus, sharks, sirens, etc), or more powerful than overlords (like the Seven Deadly Sins, Charlie, Lilith, and Goetias). And then Lucifer
@@limonlx7182 Yeah so like all overlords are sinners, but not all sinners are overlords. So not totally unrelated, just some are powerful and some aren’t
I'm so glad you're checking this out. It really is spectacular. I love seeing people shocked by how Disney-esque yet R-rated it is. I hope you check out the pilot too, it sets up a lot of this world. Also, a few small notes and answers to questions: 1. Charlie's dad is Lucifer. He and Satan are two different rulers in this universe. 2. Charlie and Vaggie are in fact girlfriends. And they're adorable. 3. Husk isn't a bat, he's a cat with wings. 4. I just wanted to point out that Adam is voiced by Broadway legend, Alex Brightman. No wonder "Hell Is Forever" is so good. Also, pretty ironic he says he never made a mistake when he literally committed the original sin. If anyone deserves to be stuck down there, it's him.
Brightman fucking kills it in everything he does. As Fizz he gets two of the best songs in Helluva Boss, and as Adam he's clearly having a lot of fun chewing scenery as the big bad (plus Hell is Forever absolutely fucks)
This show is very very good! Few notes (not spoilers): Angel Dust (the porn star) is a guy and uses he/him pronouns, and Vaggie and Charlie are dating! Also, Alastor is Aroace, so that’s cool. It’s a pretty queer show it’s nice

Same. It’s really interesting watching people with no clue what’s happening watch it. Because like I watch it and pretty much nothing surprises me, and when something does it’s like plot points not
25:37 Vaggie isn't playing to stereotype. Alastor is a deal maker and she knows it. He owns the souls of Husk and Niffty. I have to assume he also owns the camera crew he summoned. He even tried to make a deal with Charlie shortly after meeting her.
Worth mentioning, there's a subtle detail a lot of people miss. In "Hell is Forever", at the end of the song, Adam grabs Charlie's arm. He GRABS her. With his hand. Even though he's not meant to be there. If you look at the shot, though, they still have the hologram effect on his body and Charlie looks physically surprised at what's happening. So it's not an animation error, the subtle implication is that Adam could have made his hologram form solid all along and he just chose not to purely to mess with her.
Disney Princess is exactly what it is. Vivienne is a HUGE Disney nerd and this is her Disney princess movie. I mean, she got the voices for Mirabelle (Encanto) and Dr. Facilier (Princess and the Frog) on here. And one thing to keep in mind is that Charlie was born in hell. This is all she has ever known, so to her, this is a great place. Plus her extreme optimism and seeing the good in everyone skews that view even further.
Oh I love seeing someone react blind to the series, without knowing about the pilot or anything. The first episode should be enough for newcomers to get familiar with the setup. Hope you watch more of it, it’s so fun!

It is not explicitly stated in the show thus far. But from what I understand, when a sinner demon is killed with an Angelic weapon, their body is destroyed but their soul remains trapped in Hell, fusing with the surrounding environment. Which explains why you see so many objects and buildings with eyes randomly placed on them.
This is not true *SPOILERS AHEAD* the eyes belong to Roo (Root of All Evil). They're her motif and the way she keeps control over evil. We literally only see them appear and pop up when she's mentioned in the opening narration of this episode. And her design is covered in them lol.

Lilith is from Jewish folklore. Hazbin rewrites it a bit, but the whole "first wife who didn't want to be subservient to Adam" is the basic story. Honestly, the songs only get better as the series goes on. Vaggie's full name is Vagatha. And yrs, she and Charlie are a thing.
Dropping another recommendation to watch the pilot! It explains a lot and gives us a more thorough introduction to the main characters. For example, you get Alastor's whole backstory and learn why they call him the Radio Demon. Also I think it's a hilarious subtle joke they added that Adam was snacking on spare ribs when Eve was created from one of HIS ribs.

If you enjoy Hazbin Hotel, might I suggest Helluva Boss, from the same people and in the same universe. Sort of a Hazbin Hotel spinoff that got really popular. They're on their second season and it' perfectly compliments HH, assuming you enjoyed it. It's also an entirely youtube based series so you don't have to worry about copyright as Vivzie is fine with reactors. Also be aware of a lot of random information being thrown around in the comments as people are still going off outdated information from back when the original Pilot released that has not been confirmed since A24 took over and the creator confirmed lore and story had changed. People are eager to "flex their knowledge" perhaps from a good intentioned place but most of it is here say or old information that has likely changed. Just an FYI.
"They're kind of making [Lucifer] seem like... I don't know. He's just a little guy." Hah! you have no idea how correct you are. 🤣 If you really like villain songs, Alastor's got a great duet coming up.
its actually kinda fun to see someone who hasn't seen the pilot react to the first episode, kinda goes to show how good of a job the show did in making it so that you didnt have to watch the pilot to understand episode one, while also not sounding like it's explaining everything to you like you're a child.

I think Lilith was in the Jewish Bible. She was Adam's first partner (if you don't count the animals he rejected XD) but she refused to submit to Adam, so God created Eve from Adam's rib so she would be inferior from the start. Lilith hooks up with some demon instead, can't remember if it was Lucifer himself but it would make sense since he didn't submit either. From what I remember.

The Hierarchy of Hell basically works like this, from highest to lowest:
1. Lucifer. A fallen Angel. The King of Hell and the Sin of Pride.
2. Lilith. The First Woman and Lucifer’s wife. The Queen of Hell
3. Charlie Morningstar. Their daughter. A smol bean.
4. The remaining Six Members of The Seven Deadly Sins. Asmodeus. Satan. Leviathan. Mammon. Beelzebub. Belphegor. They each run a ring of Hell, kinda like Dante’s Inferno.
5. The Ars Goetia. A collection of 72 noble Demon families with very strong magic and rigid sensibilities.
6. Overlords. Powerful demons who have come into being by providing necessary advancements to Hell. Alastor is the Overlord of Radio, because he brought the idea of radio with him to Hell when he died.
7. Sinners. Described above.
8. Hellborn demons.
9. Imps and Hellhounds. The lowest of the low. Often working class or even slaves.
Wait, Alastor is an overlord? I thought overlords are hellborn and Alastor is just the most powerful sinner of all, as it was described in the pilot.
@@jjsstikbotvideos4421 yeah, it makes sense now, I just assumed sinners and overlords are two completely different unrelated beings xP
Also, a few small notes and answers to questions:
Begs the question too... Where is Eve? If Adam was made Angelic then what happened to her?

This show is very very good! Few notes (not spoilers): Angel Dust (the porn star) is a guy and uses he/him pronouns, and Vaggie and Charlie are dating! Also, Alastor is Aroace, so that’s cool. It’s a pretty queer show it’s nice
It was stated that the only straight member of the main cast is Niffty 😂
Aroace?
@@Gambler_Airsoft Aromantic Asexual! It means he doesn't feel romantic and sexual attraction. And while aroace people can be in romantic/sexual relationship, Viv has confirmed that he is uninterested in such things and they won't play a role in his story arc

@@TallulahBangkokLucifer is too I believe? I know he’s not the direct main cast, but he’s pretty present throughout the first season.
Rather than being like a demon, Lucifer is basically LITERALLY an Angel trapped in hell. So he’s not quite the head-honcho they pan him out to be
Fr
I dunno.......if he's an angel then he could still be more powerful than anyone else. And he's a different kind of angel from the exterminator angels. He was definitely born one instead of becoming one like Adam did.
I’ve gotten so used to Helluva Boss (and the Hazbin pilot) that nothing shocks me, it’s so strange to see someone new react lol
im surprised there iseing plumbing comming from heaven and all the food in hell is feces from heaven and the water is all urine and the overlords are buysy fighting over the few bits of food that are not feces. and occasinaly nice angels (super rare since they get sent to hell if do that) sends food from heaven to hell (food in heaven is infinant and if pipes werent monitored they wouldent even know they are sending it)

These shows will definitely give you a thick skin.

"I love villain songs!"
Oh man you are in for a *treat* 😅
Adam calls himself “The Dick Master”. More like ass master.
That's actually really cool! I didn't notice that
The same happens when he says "hey hey we've got time..." . He placed his finger on Charlie's lips and she is reacting to it
Disney Princess is exactly what it is.
This is actually a really cool and unique reaction, seeing someone watch this without the pilot. Episode 1 did a great job of hiding a recap within new stuff.
True. It's not even neccesary to watch the pilot, honestly.
This is mostly true except maybe for Alastor, you really don’t know what his deal is if u haven’t seen the pilot

Dang, I am just loving the content from this channel! FNAF, Murder Drones, and now this! Love to see it!
Also, one thing I only recently noticed is that through the entire meeting with Adam, he's snacking on some ribs, which is interesting when you realize that Eve was supposedly made from a rib that was taken from Adam, at least in the Bible story.
I noticed that while editing! Such a cool little detail haha
Alastor is old school because he died during The Great Depression
The fact she predicted lucifer would be small has me rolling
I recommend watching the plot episode for this. That way, you'll have an understanding on how this all started.
Also the voices and designs were different before the final product here.
Anyways cool to see you start watching this series. I wasn't aware this was out until last week.
Satan and Lucifer are two different people btw
Negative. They are just two names (stumbling stone and lightbringer) for the same being, aka the Devil. It would make as much sense to say "God" and "The Lord" are two different creatures.
@@LordTelperionyou are wrong and wrong again
@@LordTelperionThis is fiction. Lucifer and Satan are separate just like paradise lost.
Even biblically, Lucifer as the ultimate enemy is speculative.
Edit: Lucifer isn’t even IN the bible. It was a mistranslation of a sarcastic insult that was misconstrued by the Roman belief of Venus being cast out of the sky and then later tangentially connected to Satan’s fall. Literal chinese whispers
@@LordTelperionyou should study the bible more because even there you can see that Satan and Lucifer are not the same character.

Stephanie Beatriz was Mirabel in Encanto. Of course she can sing lol
Also. Alex Brightman(!) plays two characters in this series, including Adam (aka Dude-Bro) and Keith David(!!!) plays Husker (the winged cat bartender who "ain't no actor")
Finally! Someone said she voiced Mirabel. I was checking the comments to see if anyone said anything of the sorts. Because that's how I recognized her name.
I’m surprised there was no mention about possibly recognizing Adam’s voice, as he’s voiced by Broadway star Alex Brightman. Brightman also voices Sir Pentious in the series (but not the pilot)
He also voices Fizzarolli in Helluva Boss as well!
It's SOOO fun watching people that are super new to the show. Not even knowing their names on episode one feels so weired but refreshing. Glad EP 1 does a good job at explaining well for newcomers. LOVE your little gasp-squeal in the first song and some of your guesses. Sub!
Your theatre nerd joy is infectious! I'd definitely tune in if you were to react to more Hazbin going forward.
(Also, fun fact on the topic of the cast, Adam is played by Alex Brightman (the OG Beetlejuice on Broadway) who also has another more frequent role later in the season. He nails both imo)
“We’ll see Lucifer and he will just be a little guy, a little guy that got screwed over” hehehehehe
As a fellow theater nerd with a love of some of the darker productions, this series definitely hit a sweet spot for me as well
Man Alex killed it, he made Dickmaster one of my top two favorite characters in this.
Adam saying he never made a mistake in his life, but his tiny little mistake kicked off the entire fall of mankind :p
Although I guess all-knowing, all-powerful God wanted it that way and Adam did him a favor.

Fun fact : Satan and lucifer are different , I this universe, there are 7 princes of hell or seven deadly sins , lucifier is on the top his ring is pride and that's where all the sinners stay and cannot leave to explore the other rings . These other rings are explored by the other show Hellavu boss

Having this pop up in my recommended was a pleasant surprise. First time I've been back on the channel since your Persona 5 playthrough. Seeing the perspective of someone that hasn't seen the pilot or following behind the scenes stuff was refreshing. I'm glad the show still managed to pull you in and that you were able to follow everything.
Yeah as people said you reaaaally should watch the pilot before watching this
It is not explicitly stated in the show thus far. But from what I understand, when a sinner demon is killed with an Angelic weapon, their body is destroyed but their soul remains trapped in Hell, fusing with the surrounding environment. Which explains why you see so many objects and buildings with eyes randomly placed on them.
This is not true
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
the eyes belong to Roo (Root of All Evil). They're her motif and the way she keeps control over evil. We literally only see them appear and pop up when she's mentioned in the opening narration of this episode. And her design is covered in them lol.
@@Orion_TheyThem according to the Hazbin Hotel Wiki, "If a demon dies in Hell, the dark energy within them wanders off and possesses random everyday inanimate objects such as furniture and tools, which explains why some of the things seen in the background and such have functioning eyes."
@@didjargo and Viv has stated that the Wiki, the old Instagram posts, and the old fanmade songs she made into MVs are no longer canon. There's a LOT. of things she retconned and changed. Roo is the source of the eyes. It's why they pop up when she's mentioned in the pilot

If you didn't recognize it, the voice of Adam is played by Alex Brightman (original Beetlejuice from Broadway).
He's also the voice of Sir Pentious AND also Fizzarolli in Helluva Boss too!
"they made him(Lucifer) like idk... A little guy"

@@ForthwithJackal lmao sorry, I commented this before I got to the point in the video where she said she also recognized Stephanie from Brooklyn nine-nine.
As others have said, the Pilot is canon and does go into various bit of information the first episode doesn't. I wouldn't say you HAVE to watch it but if you want more lore/worldbuilding I'd give it a watch even if you don't react to it.

Omg you're reaction is so cute, I'm literally feeling your joy right now ahhhh! 100% recommend checking out the rest. (Including the pilot - the voice cast is all different, but it's definitely a good lead in to the series)!
Not even the Jewish Bible, just some Jewish fanfiction. Then people loved the idea of a woman lucider demon and started using her all over the place.
Stephanie Beatriz doing the voice of Vaggie literally sounds like Lake Bell as the voice of Poison Ivy from the show “Harley Quinn”.

some lore things that u might find interesting (none of them are spoilers and they got confirmed by the writers in interviews or separate materials)
Angel dust was a human who died of overdose
The radio demon (alastor) was a serial killer who got shot for being in the woods hiding a body and mistaken for a deer
Sinners who have a huge power can become overlords
Vaggie was originally made to be a person who got stabbed in the eye and sent to hell however many people theorise that she is actually an angel (just a theory tho)
Hell has seven rings and population is divided by a hierarchy (both socially and in power level), in order they are:

2:The 7 deadly sins (the ring leaders)
3:The overlords
4:The sinners
5:The succubus
6:The hellhounds (furries)
