I think the main reason why Adam is such a D word, is because in the show, he doesn't eat the apple, only Eve did. So Adam got to go to Heaven, and he was never punished for anything he did. So Adam basically doesn't know the difference between being good and being bad. That's why he's so calm with saying the worst things, because he doesn't know what the difference is, all he knows is that he got into Heaven somehow.

There's also the argument I've seen that Adam never committed any sin on Earth because he didn't get the chance to until he got into heaven. He couldn't be gluttonous or greedy when he had nothing after Eden and was barely fighting to survive. Couldn't be envious or prideful because there was basically no one else to compare himself to. Couldn't be slothful because being lazy meant he died. Couldn't be wrathful or lustful because there was only Eve and doing anything to upset her meant he was completely alone.
Adam only got into heaven based on circumstance, ironically similar to how many sinners only fell to hell because of circumstances or mistakes. Other than the fruit, there was never anything to tempt him, until he got into heaven where everything is provided to him and he was able to show the true colours of his personality.
I don't think he doesn't know the difference, i think he has just a way to inflated ego from being the first guy, which leads to him being a dick, because he thinks it's his right to be one

My running theory for "Why is Adam in Heaven" is simple: He's a nepo baby. The angels created 3 humans. 2 of them 'failed'. Adam basically had to get into Heaven, or else Humanity would've been a complete failure. And the Heaven couldn't have that, so Adam got a free pass.

He's also proved useful in upholding the specific definition of 'order' that Heaven's leadership (the Seraphim specifically, as we haven't seen any sign of anyone who outranks them yet) is obsessed with maintaining.
From what's been shared about the lore, Adam didn't eat the Fruit of Knowledge, so he's still as he was back in Eden. Without the free will that came from knowledge, though, Adam was only able to _copy_ the attitudes and behaviors of those around him, rather than develop his own identity -- like a child, everything that he is was learned from watching his 'parents', the Seraphim overseeing Earth and the Garden. He's driven by egomania and spite because those behaviors are _acceptable_ when aimed at the 'unworthy', and as long as his actions were of use to propping up the status quo, Heaven was willing to tolerate his unrestrained self-aggrandizement, both in life and as an angel.

since folks have already mentioned her age, I might as well just give more context on Niffty’s design instead! she’s tiny not because she’s a kid, but because she’s themed around bugs! it’s why she has these pointy thin black limbs, and why there’s sometimes skittering noises when she moves lol. her other theme is the 1950s (shown in her outfit and 50s housewife vibes) and the B-movie aliens of that era (shown by her eye and general creepiness).

Yes actually. The Latin word ‘canon’ comes from the Arabic ‘qanun’, meaning “rule” or “law”, and it’s usage in English started as a way of describing biblical “law”, or the official version of the Bible. So yes, calling something canon to the Bible is 100% accurate.
That said, Lilith is not considered Canon to the Christian Bible. There's some debate regarding placement in Jewish texts, and it's largely believed she was likely adopted from Mesopotamian roots, but isn't part of the primary Christian mythos.
Zoroastrianism or Kabbalah would place her there, with perhaps an argument as well for Gnosticism, but not Prime Christianity.

Not entirely. She didn’t flee at all and she already had equality - that was what caused the problem.
God made them as equals, both from the dust of the Earth. Adam was NOT above Lilith - they were equals. God gave 2 commands: procreate and never eat the forbidden fruit.
He didn’t say they had to start procreating immediately, so Lilith figured she would get to that when she felt like it. She was not being disobedient or fighting anything. She just didn’t feel like having sex, so she kept telling Adam no.
Adam felt like because God had told them to procreate and Lilith refused him, Lilith was breaking God’s command, so he went to God for help.
God realized that unless one was above the other, the fighting would continue. By nature, Lilith was Adam’s equal, so God decided that it was not right to command Lilith to obey Adam. Instead, he sent Lilith out of the garden (not out of Eden, just out of humanity’s “incubation bubble”, so to speak) and replaced her with Eve - who this time was made from Adam’s rib, so that she would be a part of him and thus subservient to him.
So she wasn’t fighting for equality. The problem was that she had equality, which caused arguments, which God did not like. So he sent her away so that he could remove equality from the situation and get that whole populating-the-Earth thing started.
I’m not sure that’s much better 😂
A small detail most people don’t notice.. Adam grabs her arm at the end of the song even though he’s a hologram and she looks surprised and shocked. It seems to show how much power someone like Adam has.

The story is not trying to be biblicaly accurate. She is taking inspiration from several pieces of lore for her world

But you should know we discovered that angels don't choose which souls get to heaven, if Adam in ten thousands years was like that we see him right now, he wouldn't get to heaven in the first place. Pay attention to the beginning of the first episode, Adam is nowhere has been seen when lucifer give Eve apple. It's implying that Adam didn’t ate apple and what's why he get to heaven. Adam is complicated character. The difference in hazbin hotel that Adam, unlike Eve, he didn't ate fruit of knowledge, that's why he is in heaven, and that's why he has black and white views. Imagine you're the first human with no parents and no knowledge about morals whatsoever, and you automatically get to heaven, and angels like "Oh, if he's here, that means he's good soul, let's make him an archangel, give him power, a royal fancy life where he get anithing he wants on silver platter, not facing consequences of his actions and teach him heaven is good, hell is bad, all just because he's a first human soul. And since angels don't know how souls get to heaven, and they don't choose which soul get to heaven, they didn't argue with Adam and anithing what he's doing it's OK. Later he was surrounded by winners who warship him as a someone special, a first human soul in heaven, who gave a birth to humanity. It's not suprising why he is a frat bro with God complexes.

Also the lineart colour as well. People from hell have dark-red lineart, and people from heaven have dark-blue lineart. Looking at Vaggie, something had always looked off when she was standing with everyone else. Now it makes sense why.
Also, Adam tucking his wings under his arms and usually having them lowered is a cute character design choice, as much as I fucking hate the asshole. It makes him look less threatening compared to his mask. Lol

I think a popular theory is that she was lobotomized and then died shortly after, hence the one eye and the childish appearance and behavior. About you saying you’re worried about saying stories and over analyzing, let me just say that’s the reason why I watch your content. You put a lot of your personality and quirks into your videos, I appreciate it, it’s very refreshing.
Its nice to see people appreciate the layers that were put into this story. Alot of reactions seem to take it at face value and not appreciate the depth the creators put into it. They also like to do a soft fact check for some reason. Like its a 1 to 1 of biblical stories. Its just a fun concept thats a play on the mythology not an exact representation. So we all appreciate/are excited to see your reaction to it.

The creator said it is because Alastor likes to see others struggles so he lets them try to accomplish the task and sometimes in the end we would go "oh wait I can do that afterall lol". Something to note going forward about _Hazbin_ (and its sister series _Helluva Boss,_ for that matter) is that this world plays fast and loose with its various source material(s). In real life Judeo-Christian canon, Adam and Eve both ate the Fruit of Knowledge; here, it’s made explicit that Eve accepted the Fruit of Knowledge, but whether or not Adam did isn’t as clear (and in fact has become quite a matter of speculation for reasons).
Also, having mentioned _Helluva Boss,_ I guess I’ll go ahead and tell you some stuff about it. It takes place in the same universe but otherwise has almost nothing to do with _Hazbin’s_ story. What it is good for in regards to _Hazbin_ is extra worldbuilding.
You mentioned the seven rings, and that actually is how this version of Hell is structured: Seven rings, one for each Deadly Sin, each with its own culture and environment, each ruled by a lord or embodiment of their respective Sins, and all seven are stacked on top of each other (there are actually a couple models of Hell’s Ring structure in some rooms in _Hazbin,_ they’re ordered by color). From the top down, we have the Pride Ring, ruled by Head Honcho King Lucifer Morningstar (who is still the overall King of All Hell as the single most powerful being down there); the Wrath Ring; the Gluttony Ring; the Greed Ring; the Lust Ring; the Envy Ring; and the Sloth Ring.
Here’s the thing: the other six Rings are home to many other Hellborn species (imps, hellhounds, succubi and incubi, etc.), but the Sinners are the only demons who used to be humans, and they’re confined to the Pride Ring, so Alastor disappearing for seven years is especially odd.
If you wanna give _Helluva Boss_ a shot, go ahead, just know that it’s a *very* different show with a very different story that otherwise has almost nothing to do with _Hazbin._ Personally I’m no longer a fan of _Helluva,_ but the worldbuilding that goes into it is cool to know.
*P.S:* Don’t worry, Niffty’s an adult, she’s just short.
I've watched so many reaction channels, and I just gotta say, PLEASE don't feel bad about pausing a lot. The whole point (at least for me) of watching reactions is to actually see people REACT to things. Most of the channels I've found just smile and nod along, and, well... As someone who dives into religion, mythology, folklore, and grew up around Christians and people who practice Judaism, Lilith isn’t from the actual Torah, or was “cut out” from the story. Her main appearance is in a book that’s basically religious fanfic. People point at a few verses in the Bible/Torah that could be her, but they’re shoddy at best.
So, yeah
She’s proper old school religious fanfic. Quick side note for ya 🩵
Religion For Breakfast had an informative video about this recently. Lilith is like when the Torah was being combined from different accounts of how the Hebrews came to Canaan. The northern Canaanites said that they came from Egypt via Moses, while the southern said from Babylon by Abraham. One school of thought claimed that Lilith was the first woman while another said it was Eve. The stories were eventually merged until it was revised into the Genesis story we know today. Also to explain how Lilith became a demon they would cast spells against.
So, yeah, fanfiction.
And a *lot* of modern cultural depictions of Abrahamic stories are from apocryphal works, which I, as a someone not part of those religions, find the most interesting and compelling. A lot of them come as direct adaptations and continuations of Mesopotamian and Levant stories, which is just really fascinating.
I would push back on characterizing Lilith as "just a fanfic character" because although the Alphabet of Ben Sira was written after the Council of Nicaea, we know that the concept of Lilith existed since before then, because she is referenced in Isaiah, which was obviously written far earlier. So Ben Sira could fairly be called fanfiction, but it pulled from an existing folklore that never got canonized.

I wouldn’t say they’re having a good time based on the “shity day in Hell” sequence. I’d say they’re making the best of a bad situation from which they truly believe they have no chance of reprieve, so why bother with self control?

Fun fact... per the original lore, Lilith was made of dirt like Adam, his second wife was made from his rib, but God didn't knock him out first so he watched God tear a rib out and turn it into a woman and Adam was so scared of her he wouldn't touch her, so God disposed of her, and knocked Adam asleep and did it again, and that's where Eve comes from.... his third wife.

Alastor isn't supposed to be "good", by any means. He's supposed to be a foil to the "pure of heart" Charlie, by being one of the absolute worst. His charm comes from him revelling in it, and having *some scruples* (in the sense that he isn't Valentino), and being politer (when he wants to be), and even relatively friendly (when he wants to be) than some of Charlie's other antagonists. Plus, his design is great, his interactions are fun - even if you would hate to interact with him irl -, and every now and again, he almost tricks you into thinking he's a decent person. Even someone who you could be chummy with. The guy cooks, plays the piano (I believe you've seen Hell's Greatest Dad?), sings (or at least talks very fast to music), dances and is in general an entertainer. He's hilariously up himself, too... so...
I honestly have come to like that about Adam too, as much as he's totally an ass that should really be in Hell, but... I think it's a great representation of how religion (represented by heaven) doesn't necessarily make you holier than anyone else. You can be "religious", and still suck as a person. The goodness comes from the choices we make.

Niffty, I believe, is a 1950s housewife and I believe Viv did say that everyone we're seeing in this show is supposed to be an adult. I'm guessing Niffty is just very short, but could potentially be older than assumed... also some people have higher pitched voice than you might expect which make them sound younger than they actually are.
