The drum recording is absolutely stellar in this song. Starting at 1:10 I can't believe I've heard a modern recording that isn't completely brickwalled and I can actually place cymbals in a soundstage. Excellent work guys.
The outro riff is referenced in stranger things. It’s picked picked differently. I love that this album has the same riffs splashed around in different songs. Just makes the album that much more cohesive and makes the storyline stick together so much better.
Also before the "Stranger Thing" riff... They play a small part of Scourge/Psychosphere also. Feels so very "in cotext" and cool too! I love how different riffs in Alpha/Omega can be mixed together!
You really had to put the 3 circles image on the song with four in its name. I'm glad I can shoehorn in the logo as a fourth circle so I can manage to pay attention to the music.
I was in the front row at the Charlotte NC concert. Yes, I might have got pushed a few feet to the left of my spot, that was because I wasn't up on the rail, but just holding on to it. Sponce jumped off of the stage and got up into the crowd singing. I touched his shirt :) Mrak did a lot of crowd interaction too, even gave out his setlist.
Its like they got together and said "lets give these fuckers their djent fix for the next million fucking years. holy shit this is so badass i want this LIVE
This is a great song, but I'm surprised they played it live when I saw them last year. It doesn't stand out to me as one of the ones everyone would know. Like they're always gonna play "Scarlet" and probably "The Bad Thing" and "Make Total Destroy," but I didn't expect this one. They didn't do any of the first album and I wish they had, but that's besides the point I guess.
Six years late, but I believe they play this song live to give Spencer a break. That way he's not singing and screaming for the entire duration of a set and risking losing his voice
Zagreus!!!!!
Can't believe the first two singles have already been out for over a month!

Official lyrics right here people
I like the part where it goes "dj0nt dj0nt dj0nt" and I'm all like "woaaaahh"
Oh the Dj0nt kids are going to love this one
Or just people who like heavy music in general. You don't have to be a "dj0nt kid"
Because think this song is fantastic
The Zerk Nah, he was refering to those who keep complaining about how their music isn't djont, tr00, and kvlt enough and how it sound's too poppy.
Dj0nt kids only enjoy the "djent" hence my comment
Brendon stacey The entire intro doesn't even have a chord. A chord doesnt even appear until 1:09, and it isn't even a "djent" powerchord chord.
dj0nt kids have already heard the beginning of the track(up to 1:25).It's a riff misha used to demo a ran crusher 8 ;)
The grunt of the guitars in this one is purely amazing!
The drum recording is absolutely stellar in this song. Starting at 1:10 I can't believe I've heard a modern recording that isn't completely brickwalled and I can actually place cymbals in a soundstage.
Excellent work guys.
Can't wait to hear Spencer's djent singing.
Adam Nolly Getgood is the man. Listening to the snare at 0:54 and see how it changes at 1:10 to lift the section. Yoh
LukeBass1000 sweet jesus I never would've noticed. the dude is incredible
LukeBass1000 wow that's subtle as fuck but you're right
Same snare just a different tail/room sound
@@TheBlashMusic yes
I think you may be hearing a combination of the snare and the cymbal. He changes up the cymbal he's riding in that section.
everything about this track is on point. you can study the nuances in the rhythms for hours
Goddamit man, this is 7 string gasoline.
That’s exactly what I love about this band. You don’t just listen to the music, you *solve* it
The outro riff is referenced in stranger things. It’s picked picked differently. I love that this album has the same riffs splashed around in different songs. Just makes the album that much more cohesive and makes the storyline stick together so much better.
Alpha&Omega are concept albums. theyre a story. the riffs are meant to come back
Also before the "Stranger Thing" riff... They play a small part of Scourge/Psychosphere also. Feels so very "in cotext" and cool too! I love how different riffs in Alpha/Omega can be mixed together!
i like that this and The Bad Thing both start a half step higher with the beginning riffs and go a half step down after
This song, out of everything on the two albums, is what gets stuck in my head the most. I don't know why that is, but I can't complain.
0:31 "MESHUGGAH - I am colossus"
We both know what you and I are here for.
1:09 My mouth drops. Sounds flawless.
Love this track, Heavy Hitter with a touch of Meshuggah
I love the reference to "The Scourge"!
This sounds like some kind of intro to stranger things, I love how the Alpha and Omega albums are connected
more than just Djent to this one. its all the elements so perfectly fitting and all of the craziness tying in to the whole masterpiece
"There are four lights!" - Jean-Luc Picard ;)
The bass is strong with this one
You really had to put the 3 circles image on the song with four in its name. I'm glad I can shoehorn in the logo as a fourth circle so I can manage to pay attention to the music.
THERE ARE FOUR...CIRCLES!!
Misha Mansoor Nice! Misha once again proves his genius.
Misha Mansoor there are actually 8 in total ;)
Misha Mansoor Star Trek? :P
Jordan Birchall 9 actually :P
lol my first thought "you got the click the way I like it"
"Nolls you got the click the way I like it"
"I think I rushed that"
ACCartwright "Yup."
THIS has always been my all time favorite BULB song!
Everytime I meditate I put on the timer from Google and when it goes off it always reminds me of 0:53; it's the same rythm
Pretty cool instrumental track. I dig it.
I've never been to a concert before and I think next week I may be seeing Periphery on tour for the first time. I'm somewhat scared
Well worth the monies and best show you will probably ever see!
youkickmycat402 Kinda scared I'll be trampled
Myusernameistakenwtf Just stay away from the pit and you'll be fine haha
The fan boys are ravenous. It's like a metal one direction concert.
I was in the front row at the Charlotte NC concert.
Yes, I might have got pushed a few feet to the left of my spot, that was because I wasn't up on the rail, but just holding on to it.
Sponce jumped off of the stage and got up into the crowd singing. I touched his shirt :)
Mrak did a lot of crowd interaction too, even gave out his setlist.
I've been dying to hear a full version of this track since you first uploaded it to soundcloud. Cheers!
Album's got good balance. Some nice djenty bits and some...whatever the other stuff is. I approve.
This song is so much god damn fun to play
I remember this from the RAN Crusher 8 demo or something, what a bomb songgggg
I headbang while eating Spaghetti-Os to this song.
I so understand
Thank you. Finally, someone does.
Worst alphabet soup ever.
Love how Stranger Things has the the same riffs as Four Lights.
Misha ripped this from Dancers to a Discordant System lol
Who doesn't rip from Meshuggah these days
Am I the only one who thinks the dissonant melody at 1:25 is fucking genius?
one of my fave parts of Omega
Its like they got together and said "lets give these fuckers their djent fix for the next million fucking years. holy shit this is so badass i want this LIVE
"They sound like Linkin Park." Idk about you guys but if I was told that I sound like a band with multiple platinum records, I'd be pretty happy...
Chester's voice was fantastic and I'm pretty certain was an inspiration for Spencer. No insults there.
This piece sounds nothing like them..
@Fenrisulv987 Idk what idiot would even say that. I'm fans of both bands, but if you wanted me to hear similarities, I don't think there are any.
That band as a collective doesn't deserve to even touch periphery's feet..
RAN Crusher test! yes!
*Neck breaking ensues.* 1:09
RAN 8 string crusher test clip?
DIG that riff!!
Revisiting this because of Zagreus.
i wish nolly would release a base cam of him playing this song live like he did with make total destroy
Gym set engaged! 👏😎
Second time listening and...
Oh man, I can hear it now. Ragnarok tuning.
Or, rather, i think this'd be quite fun to play in that tuning, even if originally designed for 8 strings.
Sev Frost DAFAGDAD tuning
It's actually just standard 8 string tuning F#BEADGBE
ChrisW Dafuq, Dad?
ChrisW I see what you did there
Headbanging to this whole double album while playing Minecraft at midnight xD I regret nothing lol
Hi Zagreus
I really hope the title is a STNG reference. That would be all the winz. Also hella br00000tallll
Here in 2020 and this song might be the djentiest djenting I have ever experienced
RAN crusher 8 demo...so fucking heavy!!
THERE ARE! FOUR LIGHTS!
1:56 put in 1.25 speed and that's the breakdown from Stranger Things
HOLY SHIT. Man idek how many times I've listened to these albums but I keep learning more and more abt it every day tysm
Anyone here from Zagreus?
If I was a WWE super star, this would be my entrance theme
imagine playing blast beat over this riff.
when the stranger things reference came in I about shit my pants in excitement and nostalgia
And now this reappears in Zagreus.
that Star Trek: The Next Generation reference doe
All the breakdown patterns!
"Hey Nolls, you got the click the way I like it?"
Those riffs... damn
THERE. ARE. FOUR. LIGHTS!!
that intro tho 💯💯💯
love that scourge reference
Boom, I knew the part at 1:26 sounded familiar lol
lips parched in anger.. eyes rolled in the back of the head.. counter clockwise headbang ...
CRUSHER!
The New New Groove
1:41 I was like holy shit
1:57 then I was like holy jesus.
2:19 of me gizzing to this song
This tune is illegal in 103 countries....
I feel bad for those countries
Who else came here from Zagreus?
Freakin base tone man!
This
Slaps
Picard would be proud
I think the ending breakdown is the same one they use in stranger things, but it's slowed down 🌚
feeling some meshuggah in this one
Thumbs up for Star Trek reference.
Periphery confirmed for Trek nerds!
0:33
Badass!!!!!!!!
NOLLY IS FUCKING BASED
Bassed*
This sounds of Gasoline.

THERE! ARE! FOUR! BEATS!
is there an instrumental version of this?
This is better than a dog peeing on their training pads.
Those bends :0
THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!
The RAN Crusher 8 Demo! was gutted when Misha took it down but now i see why ;) fuck me that groove.
THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!
2+2=5
(1984 reference)
Periphery's logo = Four Lights
1:42 es part of stranger things!!!
wickedness. whats the kick drum do!?
Yup.
This is a great song, but I'm surprised they played it live when I saw them last year. It doesn't stand out to me as one of the ones everyone would know. THERE! ARE! FOUR! LIGHTS!
Is this a fucking 10/8 time signature?
many would write a groove like this in 12/8, otherwise you gotta write a bunch of 3's over every group of triplets.
It's a triplet 4/4 with ridiculous polyrhythms
Fuck what a djenter! Amazing!!
