OFFICIAL LYRICS:
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and sun
A birthing rite in this duality
Embrace the feeling of our human skin intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain our bodies with their own blood
The blessing is given as the child grows
A family burdened with a line full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
Embrace the feeling of our human skin intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain our bodies with their own blood
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and sun
A birthing rite in this duality
These voices echo so violently
A congregation with a line full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
EVERYONE LIKE THIS SO WE CAN SEE THE LYRICS
A song that you feel more than you hear.
2022 incoming \m/
People who complain about the album being too "poppy" clearly did not listen all the way to the end.
Or anywhere past the first song...
I agree.
thumbs way up
When I first saw the title I instantly assumed alpha would be more cleans and omega more chuggy spencer going ham I mean it makes sense right?
Whitest White i mean MK Ultra...... holy fuck that song
So it begins....
Wrong band but ok
@@retrail8603 wtf?
This honestly has to be my favorite track off both albums. Spencer's voice is just so moving.
Wow, man. That’s pretty cool, an interesting choice. I have a hard time not choosing “Stranger Things” as my favorite track across the two albums for that exact same reason
Man, this entire Juggernaut: Alpha album is extremely my shit. Just plain well crafted music. I love the mood of it all. A lot of moments that remind me of Thrice's Vheissu too, which is one of my all time favorite albums.
That sound of catastrophe. The ending of Like Moths to Flame.
holy fucking shit i'm excited
Your profile pic matches your excitement I presume?
This will be the prog metal album to beat in 2015!! so good!
Just realized that the beginning of this album (Alpha) is the reversed version of the end of the second album (Omega).
Listen to the toy xylophone, lol.
Psylo Productions holy shit you're right
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. The end is the beginning and the beginning is the end. Crazy stuff!
Which song?
There's a video online where Spencer explains the whole story of Juggernaut, but doesn't say what happens in the end. Given how the album ends with the unreversed intro, my guess is the main character got his wish to reborn.. only to repeat the life he already lived, due his violent personalities being reborn with him. You could take it a step further and assume that the entire "line full of evil" is the same person being reborn again and again throughout time, and that's his curse. Shit can get pretty crazy the more you read into it.
I think it shows a paradox or a continuous time loop in the story, after graveless where our protagonists is tricked/guilted into taking his own life, hell below is his journey downward omega is his experience in that realm and stranger things is where he is at the end of his stay and transcends that realm somehow or so he thinks only being born again into the cult mentioned in a black minute as the anti-christ (not SPECIFICALLY the anti-christ but as the embodiment of negative polarity, other songs definitely hint at it being the anti christ but i think all that story building is there to make it understandable/relatable)
I love how 3:22-4:16 from this song is echoed in "Graveless" from 2:46-3:04.
Thank you based Misha Mansoor :)
WTF, I did not catch that after countless listens of Graveless. You, my friend, have a great a set of ears!
Andy Liew Zac is a professional guitarist, and if you haven't heard of him yet, you better start now!
I didn't hear it
DavidMcDze Try listening to the drum/guitar cover of "Graveless" that I did, as the line is more accentuated.
ua-cam.com/video/BU0WCHX-x60/v-deo.html
can i be in you band zac?
I know I've probably said this already, but the all time best part of this album is how they allowed the concept of the albums loop indefinitely, which is obviously a major characterization of this release, being a concept album- if you listen to the end of Stranger Things, you will hear the sort of carillon synth playing in the back, which comes right into A Black Minute's intro. It's almost as if it is saying, "neither album comes first", and you decide which does, as the two stories are of one mind now. It's just genius in my opinion.
Holy shi-
just started listening after hearing everyone mention them and I'm not disappointed. don't typically like this vocal style, but they make it blend, which is all I've ever wanted. I'm going to get so into this band.
Spencer really found his place. LOVE those album.
wow it's almost like periphery can make whatever music they want
This song is actually deep. Rife with allegory and metaphor.
I don't understand how someone could hate spencer's voice. This is awesome!!
The intro makes me feel like I'm at the menu screen of The Last of Us or some other really dark adventure game! I love it, i get goosebumps!
I love how the beginning of this song Is also the end to Stranger things. And the choir chanting is singing the soft part of Omega. :) I love this band!
Everyone complains about singing but I love it. He is a good singer he is just embracing his talent get over it.
Oliver-Vic Carquinn You damn right
Anthony Montes
His voice is literally a gift from jeebus himself
And so the journey of Alpha begins. Love this so much
I swear this album would make a great musical
It's evident that this will be a very vocal-heavy album. Good, I fucking adore Sotelo.
My fav Periphery albums... epic through and through, love all the albums but this one touches the soul
My biggest regret in life is not hearing this song sooner
fucking same... man....
Man I feel like this is the only prog band that writes lyrics that I actually like. gj periphery, your stuff is super dope
2020 JULY shit still slaps
I'd die for a juggernaut tour. Alpha and omega from start to finish.
Couldn't have picked a better singer to tell this story, to convey the emotion of a troubled soul. You elitist sheeple can riot while those who appreciate _music_ are humming these albums in continual appreciation
nigga it's just a song
2:38 This so reminds me of The Dear Hunter which is so awesome!
Haha that's what I thought.
I was thinking about that. The four notes that make the protagonist's motif in Juggernaut are very similar to Ms. Leading's motif in Act II.
Holy shit! This is the Cathedral from Santiago de Compostela! This is amazing!!
OMG you can hear Misha's Strat beautifully on the clean parts.
I feel like i get Déjà vu every time I look at the comment section on UA-cam.
wtf i hate youtube now
This is such a beautiful opening to an album.
Love the build ups and the drops, the ascending and descending in intensity.
Epic intro my speakers will blow out by the time I finish this album :D
This song makes me cry for my poor and regretfully terminated love child that me the mother shamefully knew we could not raise. I am sorry, my sweet dear
Love how the very end of Omega and beginning of Alpha are connected, such good songwriting!
My Take on What Juggernaut Alpha is About:
1.Black Minute- The story starts off in a ritual of a child being brought into a cult. He has been raised (Or brainwashed?) into killing in order to see another day.
2. MK Ultra (Acid)- As we find out he was actually brainwashed by acid. To commit murder as a way of life. Jazz parts are actually him blacking out from shock of what he is and what he does.
3. Heavy Heart- Wakes up. Has to go on a patrol with his cult to find more members. In the backseat of their vehicle while rain is drizzling on the window he wishes none of this never happened and he needs to get away from these people. Car stops as they find a group of people traveling on foot. The cult slaughters them. As the children scream and are being kidnapped, their mothers are being hung upside down.
4. The Event- Instrumental about Ceremony to the new children that were kidnapped and being inducted by rite.
5.The Scourge- Now he's a Teenager. All he wants is a second chance at life. So now he wants to commit suicide in hopes to be reincarnated. But as he tries to kill himself, the cult chants in his ear to survive and he is brainwashed again by the MK ULTRA. Now he wants to commit some more murders for the moment lol.
6. Alpha- Gathers up the other children that have been brought into the lifestyle that they should all man up and revolt against this upbringing, time to rebel. So they all do.Chorus is the Pep Talk.
7. 22 Faces- On the run, It seems they have been running forever, but from what theirselves? What is the point? They don't know how to survive with basic human emotions, all they know is murder.
8. Rainbow Gravity- More contemplation.
9. Four Lights- Cult Leaders are looking for them. Panic sets in *instrumental*
10. Psychosphere- His mind is telling him to lay low instead of acting out, but his sadistic mind is telling him to kill them motherfuckers. Finally gives up and fucking kills them slow..... Outro is the act of him murdering them slowly and him walking away.
- BUg Man
Jesus Bug Man! That's so well thought out! WOW
@@whitecomet3036 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@XBUGMANX I also read your "Omega" take, it's so cool! Best thing I've seen today
Love this song
After stuff like "The Scourge" and another of the early songs, I was a bit scared that the lyrics would be too.... lymrick-ee and filled with 'hah! huh! yeah!', but this is really nice lyrically, even if if repeating a tad bit too much for me. Excited to hear the rest of this again.
Lol The bad thing "Give me a reason fucking give me a reason, huh yeah!"
Reminds me of mid-career Thrice, which is awesome :D
The INSTRUMENTS sound absolutely amazing Misha Mansoor
As a fellow musician your stuff touches my soul. Just want you to know that we share musical tastes and ideas. As far as this album, you guys have matured and became better MUSICIANS and that alone deserves so much respect. Keep doing what you love and I will continue to support and buy your albums. Thank you for finally putting this out there.
I was reading the comments before listenin' the song but when the vocal started, dude, It sounded A LOT like Chester (the clean parts), anyway, great song, periphery rocks as usual :D
Spencer is a beast!!! Better and better every go around. That high at 3:18 is so dark and beautiful, I can't wait for my copies.
Some of the harmony that goes on between 2:55 and 3:25 on Spencer's part is just so gorgeous. I love him
honestly best album opener i've heard in a long time, this is sick
This is so beautiful!
The title tracks on both albums are ridiculous! Periphery has stepped up with every release. Has anyone started thinking about the concept?
love the sound of the strat here!
Seriously best album out right now!! Watched Juggerdoc, and it was such an inspiration..
YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssss!
Spencer is so overpowered right now.. As is the rest of the band!! I hope Periphery never gets nerfed.. Ever!!
Periphery owns this shit!
Periphery, I love you all.
This track is fantastic. Go Spencer ;) It's good to hear your chops full out. Good on you.
Pop shit.
I feel like i just was listening to some Linkin Park shit.
Ok seriously I don't understand these LP references Periphery gets. What.The.Fuck are you listening to?
Since when did Linkin Park sound anything like this? It's literally a completely different sound.
People find it harder to hear or sense differences in things they don't like. Leads to bullshit comparisons that don't make sense to anyone else.
Sean Martin There are actually some vocal-lines in this song that remind me a bit of LP. But I still don't see the problem as LP had some great albums
Don't get me wrong I actually like LP aswell it's just people saying this sounds like LP. Like I don't even hear it in the vocals never mind the instruments.
I wish Linking park was this good lol
I'm seeing so many negative comments. I don't even like Periphery and I thought this song was amazing.
A lot of old Periphery fans are struggling with the concept of progression.
EternallyInebriated Yet they claim to listen to Progressive Metal.
turkeysandwich3 The irony is real.
+The Unseen Blade That would depend on your definition of progression.
That strat sounds amazing, as if this song didn't hit home already....
This is good!
Phenomenal.
3:23 that guitar
I fucking love the tone on that clean guitar that comes in at 1:53
Spencer is top 10 rock singers
The two albums are a loop. The intro to this song played backwards is the outro to the last track on Juggernaut: Omega. Sick album!!
The story is a vicious cycle.
Spencer's vocal... holy shittttt sooooo goooooooood
On my first listen I didn't appreciate this song as much, a week after the release I finally realized how fucking amazing this song is. If you bypass this song, please reconsider and take the time to allow the song to build up and be amazed!\m/
Has anyone else started to piece together the story yet? A black minute seems to be about a kid being born and having some kind of predetermined fate of some sort, or being born for a purpose; said purpose seems to be negative. MK ultra was a government mind control program from the 50s and paired with the lyrics leads me to believe some government or powerful establishment has the character under their control. Heavy hearts and psychosphere both imply the character does bad deeds that he's forced to do, but that and kind of detail a split personality; possibly a contrast between what the character wants and what he's being mind controlled to do. And while I haven't looked in depth into rainbow gravity's lyrics, rainbow gravity is a theory about the universe being eternal and never starting and or stopping so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Anyone else have any input here?
My original theory was a person's journey after a dark experiment, but it seems you're correct. Matt stated in an interview that the story follows the life of a child who was born into a sadistic cult, his escape, and subsequent life choices.
(Possible spoilers to those who haven't listened to it all)
The lyrics in "The Bad Thing" really hint at a split personality or inner war. In particular, the lines that are sung in cleans such as "And is it this desire that you're looking for? Or is insanity just knocking at your door?" I believe are his sane side trying to reason with the part of him that wants to kill (possibly to get revenge on the sadistic cult that's been plaguing his life?). Notice that all of the lyrics screamed in that song are very nihilistic and hateful, where as the cleans involve lines that are often resembling reason and concern. I don't think the scream/clean choices were arbitrary, but rather, to highlight the "sides" in an inner debate.
The line in Psychosphere "Pushing and pulling going on within my brain says to lay low" directly implies an internal conflict: detailing a split personality like you said. Notice that such lines are sung in cleans, and as that song progresses, it all turns to screams as he gets murderous and just sounds absolutely psychotic, which is partially reflected in the lyrics "I've got a life to live and a life to end", implying that THAT part of him needs to "kill them" to move on.
Going to touch upon a few things you may find interesting:
In Priestess, it seems that the character accepts his sadness. As a note: in Alpha, there's a line:
"Step out in the rain, feel life in our veins."
And now in Priestess:
"Step out in the rain, and feel the deep sorrow."
By the end of Priestess:
"Step out in the rain TO feel the deep sorrow."
That last line implies he accepts and even embraces his sadness. The song trails off with an ominous and foreboding instrumental melody to build suspense for the coming song, where the character takes his own life (Graveless). Another thing: "Light is calling from the narrow road" is likely foreshadowing his intentions, which are put into action in Graveless.
In Graveless, the character happily ("a smile now rips open") takes his own life ("fuck me, i can't repent. by my own end, i shall bury my own life"), clearly as he feels he can't repent for the evil he has committed (possibly regarding what happened in Psychosphere). Graveless fades out with the guitar's feedback ringing very loudly, which is akin to one's ears ringing. The character is definitely now dead.
Hell Below hits instantly and without any warning. Shit just got real, and the huge change in atmosphere denotes a significant change in the story and context. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the album, as it's like reality just hit the character. He's thrown into seemingly a bigger mess than he was in originally. "No body, no mind, a spirit left to die." Really nailing in a sense of despair; it seems there is no hope and he has nothing left.
AuningProductions I think its about a murderer how keeps on second thinking himself about his righteous ways and his killing. Spoilers ahead BTW but throughout this whole album its a personal struggle within himself to find a reason for his killing and why he enjoys it so much. It ends with him thinking theres no other way out so might as well kill. This goes into Omega. It starts off with the bad thing and how he kills and kills but finds this person (Priestess) that questions his killing again. In Priestess he says he finds love in one of them. He himself feels like a beast and sees himself different from "normal" humans. Anyways, he says give me a reason give me a reason to kill this girl right? In the end of all this contemplating, he takes his own life and is taken to hell. Enter Hell Below. Hes in hell, the demons are pulling him down and he begins to repent but realizes its to fucking late. And then twinkle twinkle little star plays because dj0nt. In Omega, he sees a light from above and the ghosts/spirits of all the people he has killed and comes to conclusion that he deserves hell but he is still a man of worth and casts away the demon inside of him or his split personality. Now for the last song, he gets beamed up to heaven. Thats fuckin dope.
***** It was in a magazine
AuningProductions Whitest White the story seems to get a lot bigger after hell below.
(Spoilers)
It seems to me like the character meets Satan and is even reincarnated perhaps. Any theories? Id love to know what other people think
Actually, Spencer's singing makes the album for me
I love this albums face!!!!
I FUCKING LOVE PERIPHERY
Go Spencer
I listen to this whole album atleast 5x a day... I'm basically a personal taxi that blast's periphery all day.

This is better than watching a cinema with a girl.
My theory for this song is that the parents of the main character are having sex from the verse "embrace the feeling of our human skin, intertwining now in ecstasy" to preform ritual In the birth of the main character. I also notice a women having blood poured on her so that kinda led me to that too. So pretty much this song is saying how the character is born. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?
Yes, this is the ritual of his birth.
This is one of the rituals described on the albums.
Oooooooo, Silent Hill vibe the first few moments :D
+DeathByKitties They are fans of the series.
Mmm, yeah, totally.
I really like how atmospheric this song is, I actually really dig this. It makes me think of something that could have been on Thrice's (RIP) Vheissu (see; Atlantic, Red Sky, or Music Box) which is awesome. This song really stands on its own.
However, honestly, what I've heard off of this double album so far has been pretty hit or miss, which is kind of a shame because I genuinely believe that Periphery II is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard and most of Periphery I was really spectacular as well. What I'm ultimately hoping for is some sense of cohesion between the songs since this is supposed to be a concept album, and I haven't heard much of that thus far from this, and that the songs that have been a "miss" for me will gain a new light in the scheme of things when contextualised. Here's hoping, but so far, I'm not very optimistic. We will see on the 27th though, and my opinion may change, and this will turn into nothing more than the ramblings of a madman.
Ultra Bulb!
This is hands down probably the darkest Periphery song I've heard...
that bass is monsterous! god damn! and spenc's screams sounds like Linkin Park. my god!! :O
Im a die hard periphery fan i love EVERYTHING theyve made even when Chris Barreto was in the band and i think this is their best work to date i mean i fucking love P1 and 2 but Juggernaut is my favorite
Anyone notice the spiritbox ep starts off with the same chord progression as this songs main clean guitar?
prifry totla best
Adrian from Northlane is going to be a part of periphery !
Reminds me of a heavier Muramasa from P:II. In all honesty, Spencers vocal style as not changed at all, he's just trying out new things with his sound and I personally love it. Everyone who says he sounds poppy or are just hating in general should take a step back from their elitist metal mindset where if you're not growling like some kind of pig demon than obviously youre a homosexual. Also love the Viljavibes I get from that ambient lead at the last bit. Really great stuff guys
If you play Stranger Things all the way through and listen to this, it sounds like the same song.
perpetual black periphery
someone needs to make the story behind the Juggernaut albums into a movie. right fucking now. someone please tell me they agree, because I would see that movie in a heartbeat..
Why is picture in picture unavailable for these songs?
Listen to the very end of Stranger Things on Juggernaut: Omega, and you'll notice how it flows right into the beginning of this song almost seamlessly.
WHO THE FUCK is pumped to see them with The Contortionist?
music apart, I love the art they've put up for all these songs! Are they part of the album art? Also, I WANT THEM AS WALLPAPERS!!!!!
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and Sun
A birthing right in this duality
Embrace the feeling of our human skin
intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain
(our bodies with their own blood)
The blessings given as the child grows
A family burdened with a life full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
Embrace the feeling of our human skin
intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain
our bodies with their own blood
(Embrace the feeling of a soul within)
(Lie in the circle of a few who stain)
our bodies with their blood
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and Sun
A birthing right in this duality
These voices echo so violently
A complication with a life full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
Low key my favorite song from Juggernaut. #Shhh
Sorta reminded me of Coheed and Cambria
Is this playlist actually the entire album or are there songs missing? I plan to buy this but don't have the money right now.
It's the whole album :)
A black minute = 4:17
fucking love
Vocally this song reminds me of The Kindred, which isnt bad at all.
Vocally? Spencer doesn't sound anything like Dave has in any The Kindred song here.
I love having the whole band contribute to their album.. but.. misha is the man! Just take "zero" off their previous ep. Does anyone else miss the relentless barrage of mishas riffage?!?!
👻 her body with their own blood
...... 👷🏿♂️👷🏽♀️
Omgomgomg jizz everywhere
