Eli and James had always shared a close bond, but tonight, the tension between them felt different. At the Halloween party, amidst laughter and whispered dares, they found themselves in an impromptu game that had everyone watching. The dim lights cast soft shadows across their faces as they locked eyes, both knowing what was about to happen. Their friends cheered them on, but for Eli and James, the moment was electric with something unspoken. Slowly, they leaned toward each other, the scent of cologne mixing with excitement as their hands steadied the rim of the bowl placed teasingly inside James's waistband. As Eli lowered his face, the cool water splashed slightly against his cheeks, heightening every sensation. His breath brushed against James's stomach, causing a sharp intake of breath that only Eli noticed. His lips grazed an apple as he struggled to keep his focus, but all he could feel was James’s presence, so close, so inviting. Finally, Eli caught the apple with his teeth, but before pulling away, their eyes met again, and a soft grin spread across James's face. The room may have been filled with laughter and teasing remarks, but for the two boys, time seemed to pause in the shared intensity of the moment. When Eli finally pulled back, the apple dropped to the floor, but it didn’t matter. They were both left breathless, feeling the charge between them that no one else seemed to notice. A spark had ignited in the most unexpected of games, and they knew that this night would change things. Without a word, James’s fingers lingered a little longer at Eli's side, a silent promise of what was to come.
Great commentary and explanation. I really like speed run content like that where things are explained as they happen. It gives context and sometimes a little history to why things are done a certain way.
Loved watching this, not being a speed runner didn't matter. Not a single dull moment, and your explanations for every move, big or small, kept it engaging. It's made me love this game even more.
Thank you for this. This is the kind of thing that bring people to watch speedruns. I tend to like more speedruns when I at least understand what and why people do things.
This deserves a ton of views. Very informative and who better to explain SoTN Speed running other than the multiple category world record holder himself? Awesome Vid, DB!
I've been learning this run as my first speedrun game and I'm having a blast. Your vids have been a godsend in learning the route, I doubt I would have been as invested as I am if there weren't good resources available for it.
That was the whole point of this run lol reaching 16:26 it would be ironic if it wasn't intentional but alas, that was the goal since he started grinding this route many months ago.
As an avid player of SOTN, I can say that I "kinda" understand most strategies on the surface, but your explanation made me understand them entirely, congratz for your eloquency on your explanations!
Love love videos like this. I adore this game but could not do what you do however, I love watching someone actually take the time to learn these details. Thanks!
Oh thank you YT algorithm for showing me something interesting for once! Awesome run man! You make it look so easy. Excellent commentary btw. Thanks for the video!
I love this game so much and have conquered it several times on different platforms... But I've NEVER seen a speedrun and it broke my brain... Incredible video. The glitches melted my mind, but it doesn't matter because the precision required to pull this off is almost robotic. Wow, awesome work. You put my devotion to SotN to shame.
18:00 I love, how they messed up the background in the US and EU Release of the 360 Version of SotN. It is actually still in tact in the Japanese 360 release. I even think, in one of the EU releases, they even messed up the textbox... I think it's the german version which misses the blue background.
I'm currently playing Symphony of the Night for my channel and didn't know about that backdash canceling so I'll try it out when I can but it might be awkward because I'm playing the mobile version of the game but I love it :3
If anything, this video just makes me want to replay SOTN all over again. I want to try some of these glitches out and become OP early. I have beaten it at least 10 times already now, using my own strategies to become OP early without the use of glitches.
So I have a question. On the way back to the clock room after getting the wolf, why don't you do another "big throw" off the center of the room enemy? Wouldn't that be faster than backdashing and attacking the last couple of enemies?
He skipped the part where Death takes his initial gear Alucard gear), thus keeping a huge stat boost (Strength mostly I think) all throughout the game. See 1:40
It has been a while since I checked SotN speedrun, because that tech at 1:56 is news to me, last time I checked you would kinda using the momentum of a certain move/glitch (forgot which) and skip it like you just passed through the Death room like "hi death, bye death"
Death must be so confused with you skipping him twice and then both Castles crumble around him
16:26 and the reference Dracula uses at the end is Matthew 16:26! That's not just time record, it's perfect timing!
lol wtf thats quite magical actually.
They quote the ESV unfortunately. Which is cringe.
holy SHIT
Synchronicity at its finest. Carl Jung would smile if he saw this
Ok "the Matthew 16:26" run actually had me rolling. That's just amazing.
Yeah it is
*"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul.."*
Wow.. I feel like there's some vague and odd connection there.🤣

I can't be the only one that noticed that Dracula cited Matthew 16:26 and the run time is also 16:26
He literally makes that connection in the video by calling it "The Matthew 16:26 run."
you thought you're unique? LOL
@@InAnAspect never seen anyone get ratioed on UA-cam
Muting the music especially for this game seems like one of the biggest sacrifices for saving time on a speedrun
I love when Blitz goes all pro and begin to explain everything.
Favourite part of the day
Thank you for this. This is the kind of thing that bring people to watch speedruns. I tend to like more speedruns when I at least understand what and why people do things.

Love your content man! You singlehandedly got me back into Symphony of the Night and the randomizer rabbit hole haha Good stuff man keep it up!
Congrats! And thank you for the breakdown explanations!
How ironic the WR being a quote from the very game it is done, lmao😂!

A truly legendary run. It is clear a ton of work and preparation went in to it.
Doesn't count unless og hardware.
Nice video Dragon Buttz!
Thanks for the explanation. It's one thing to watch these, but another to have the master explain their craft 🙌
Clock tower bat movement is as beatiful as it is brutal.
That book divekick was so clean. I often get damaged by doing it. Which means I gotta practice more. Loads of fun though!~

I really enjoy videos like this. Congrats on the run.
Now we just need Boba to play sotn to accidentally stumble upon a new skip that turns the speed run community into a madhouse like she did with MGS.

that backdash thing is so intuitive. i remember seeing speedrunners use it and feeling so good that the strat i 'found' was an actual speed strat lol
DB you really do have excellent commentary, love the race coverage you & the gang have been cranking out, keep it up
There should be an unwritten rule that this cannot be broken, and just because of the Matthew 16:26 being the quote and the time.
Impressive run (quite an understatement) and excellent commentary! What an accomplishment!
Just for the Dracula reference alone this should be the definitive run for this game.. that had me laughing so loud
Great job man, that was amazing to watch!
Skipping Death taking your stuff is so satisfying.
I watched this live on twitch. It was nuts.
Excellent Speedrun mate. Very enjoyable to watch.
great explanation vid, DB!
Crazy you keep pushing the meta lately yourself. I love to hear your commentary :).
To chime in with the other comments, you do a gosh darn FAN-tastic job detailing runs. Almost as good as the run itself! Cheers!

Very few people will realize what an amazing tight and precise play he made there @12:58.
Wow thank you for doing this and explaining everything very interesting
It was fun watching this speedrun. The commentary was great, too. Well done.
Dang this game is sooooo good even after all these years!!.. this game needs JUSTICE! Amazing run by the way!
This was really cool! Props on the excellent run and thanks for the excellent explanations
Been following your game play on this for a while, really bad ass
You remind me of an old Canadian youtuber I was very fond of named Baxstar. I doubt anyone knows who I'm talking about but I just felt like sharing.

Can't wait for Terminal Montage's "Something About Symphony of the Night"
Really enjoyed this! I go back and play this every year
I’m honestly more impressed when speed runs don’t exploit glitches, regardless of the difficulty.
man that is just so impressive,,, i remember i used to spend hours to beat this game and the reverse castle etc...man you are too good !!!
I really enjoyed this video and commentary. Video suggestion: SOTN WR record progression history.
Excellent commentary! I feel like the explanation of wing smash terrain boosts would be particularly edifying for the uninitiated.
I FVCKING LOVE that intro.
this game never gets old! I played it so many times and still love it! Wish they remake it this one with more stuff and better graphics

The run really took a turn after the 11:15 mark
