Loved watching this, not being a speed runner didn't matter. Not a single dull moment, and your explanations for every move, big or small, kept it engaging. It's made me love this game even more.
Great commentary and explanation. I really like speed run content like that where things are explained as they happen. It gives context and sometimes a little history to why things are done a certain way.

that backdash thing is so intuitive. i remember seeing speedrunners use it and feeling so good that the strat i 'found' was an actual speed strat lol

18:00 I love, how they messed up the background in the US and EU Release of the 360 Version of SotN.
It is actually still in tact in the Japanese 360 release.
I even think, in one of the EU releases, they even messed up the textbox... I think it's the german version which misses the blue background.

Good god.. as someone who is currently replaying the shitty rerelease on PS5, who has loved this game from it's inception, who has owned 3 PS1 copies, and still holds 2... this mechanical breakdown makes me want to wing smash someone upside the head. 2+ hours getting two Heaven Swords and Crissaegrim or bust!

is there also a world record speedrun without 'death skip'.. that would change the speedrun entirely..

I always wonder how many of the glitches and little secret nuances are intentionally programmed. Some of them sure don't seem to be pure coincidence, like the sword bros and shop glitch. Thoughts?

By skipping death and keeping his Alucard equipment at the beginning he becomes incredibly OP early on.

Unless I don't understand something here, shouldn't the world record be for console specific categories? For example, there should be a world record for the Xbox 360 version, a world record for the PS1 version, a world record for the PS4 version, etc. Playing just the Xbox 360 version and getting the fastest time shouldn't be an all encompassing world record for ALL of SotN, as each version has subtle and significant differences that effect the speedruns. The strats used in one version of SotN might not work in another version of SotN. This should be for all games too btw, not just this game. If I am wrong about categories for speedruns, please let me know.

So I have a question. On the way back to the clock room after getting the wolf, why don't you do another "big throw" off the center of the room enemy? Wouldn't that be faster than backdashing and attacking the last couple of enemies?
