    We are now doing weekly aerial flyovers depending on the support that we get. Our cost range from pilot fees to rental fees of the Cessna 172 that is used for the flyovers over the sites.

    RGV is the source. Thank you!
    Wick work at orbital pad B isn't in it's final stages yet because the small strip of wetlands hasn't been touched or pre-loaded with fill dirt. The plans also call call for an expansion to the south which is still "off limits" too. I recall, wick work - preloading the soil, seemed like it took forever (12-24 months) before the first OLM and tower went up. Hopefully pumps, more wicks or ballast can speed up the process.
    It seems like SpaceX expansion is picking up momentum at exponential rates.
    In Elon's speech regarding progress last week, he kinda hinted at more than one tower per pad at the Cape, but then "throttled" his announcement to limit potential "environmental blowback."
    Two towers per pad would be nice.
    I definitely think landing crew on the Moon and a ship autonomously on Mars will happen within 6 years at this rate.
    These are exciting times. Thanks RGV for keeping us in the loop!

    Very well put together video, clear and concise. One question- where would the new OLM will get propellant from? Maybe the new tower is catch only? Would a trench be dug from the current OTF? Is there enough capacity for both?

    I really appreciate yr regular flyovers and provide comments on the updates. Personally, I would prefer you provide a date, rather than "this is Episode 38" (or if you prefer say this is Episode 38, taken April 13, '24). I look for each episode on Sat' , but often go back and review/compare other Spacex action.

    Note: Booster with V3 engines will have 10000 tonne thrust. But V3 only has 280 T thrust - so hoping to squeeze in three extra engines. Otherwise need 303 T engine.

    I hope SpaceX doesn't build the new launch tower and OLM facing in the same direction/orientation as the original. Unfortunately some people's renderings show it like that clearly because it looks good. However it was a mistake to build the original launch tower and OLM so close to infrastructure/fuel farm. Thats why it makes far more sense to place the new OLM facing completely away from any infrastructure, with the 2nd launch tower behind it acting as a barrier between it and new infrastructure needed for that second launch tower and OLM.

    • @moodmusicytc
      @moodmusicytc Місяць тому

      It has to face the same direction. How would they manoeuvre the Boosters and Ships to land the opposite way when they land the vehicles 🤦‍♂️

    • @smavtmb2196
      @smavtmb2196 Місяць тому +1

      @@moodmusicytcYou don't understand what I'm describing.
      Of course the new launch tower and OLM will be in the correct position/orientation to line up with each other. However the current launch tower and OLM face towards the ocean and the infrastructure/fuel farm is basically running parallel to one side of them, and far too close.
      I'm just saying build the new launch and OLM facing/turned approximately 90° away from the ocean. That way there is only empty land directly in front of the OLM, and any new infrastructure for the new launch tower and OLM would be behind the launch tower. Hope this helps. This would make immediate sense if I could show you a picture. It's not complicated.

      First, don't expect CG artists to be engineers. :)
      So that leaves the legs, slung under the deck or the fuel tanks are on a barge that is towed away. I don't think we'll be seeing offshore launch platforms for some years yet.

    Emergency!!! THE ONLY SOTUTION!
    Baffles will not work to prevent the fuel slushing problem, because the tanks of the starship system are too large. That is the only reason why the starship engines have been exploding every time.
    The solution:
    The tanks of Starship and Superheavy need 2 disk valves, expanding the diameter of each tank. One of the disks, the one on top, rotates above the contiguous disk to close the overlaping holes on the surface of the disks; to reduce the Size of the tank by dividing it, before any rotation or acceleration of the rocket. This will prevent slushings and protect the plumbing, if located 10% above the bottom section of each tank. Large telescopic pistons can be attached below the bottom of disk valves to control the fuel pressure as the piston expands into the fuel tank.
    I have built a model that works perfectly. The second disk valve can be located 10% below the front of the tank, to also protect the front of the tanks from the slushing forces.
    The gridfins are too flat and too small to be effective enough and will not be able to control the booster.
    Why is Elon not using four pins instead of three to secure each heat shield tyle? Four anchor points provide far more stability to secure a tyle, not three.What is more important than securing the heat shield? Four anchor points would eliminate the problems of tyles falling off the ship every time there is an engine ignition. Please get this message to Elon. Thank you.
    Also, Spacex needs 3 actuators to move the payload bay doors correctly, not two. They have only two now, one at each end of the payload bay. They need one at the center position. Three will guarantee that there will always be enough support to open and close the doors, even if one of the three fails. I know the spacex engineers can see these problems. It is like ignoring the elephant in the room. Musk needs to hire people who can be trusted and who will not continue accepting bribes from Jeff Bozo to sabotage Spacex.
