In the short they use an 18650 battery that can charge a smartphone halfway, ledlenser has a powerbank with two 18650 cells with a total of 6800 mAh capable of fully charging a smartphone. It's not that difficult either 😅 And those power banks can last 8 years or more, in any electronic device the first thing that degrades is the battery cells, 20 percent in the first 3 years and 40 percent in 6 years, reason why we discard devices with bad batteries cells but with circuits and casing in good condition. Being able to extract the battery cells is a more efficient design, makes better use of resources, is longer lasting, cheaper in the long term and uses limited natural resources more efficiently.

I remember , i used to build that similar thing but with 555 (brand name) battery. It is slow charger but fun to use. I used it with my first Galaxy S. Now that thing is no use anymore.

Will not promise for this one but Samsung, LG, BAK, make 3500mAh 18650 which maintain capacity at 30A draws. 21700 5000mAh BAK cells tested show proper capacity at several amps of power draw. Samsung/LG/Panasonic 21700s can do upto 5600 with 40A+ draw. Flashlight forums have already far detailed tests on that
Just wait until somebody doesn't close it all the way and the covering on the side of the battery gets nicked. You'll see it turn from a portable battery bank to a hand grenade real quick

18650 на 5000mah достаточно дорогие, плюс если мне память не изменяет они не высокотоковые, так что ни быстрой зарядки с них, ни быстро их зарядить - не получится

Хотя проверить бы конечно на реальную ёмкость, но учитывая цену прибора, три года назад 350кусков стоил, то возможно. Хотя учитывая что сборка Китай, то начинаешь сомневаться. Максимум доступная ёмкоть 3600. А так да, 21700, пятак стандарт. Единственное геморой, это найти подходящую зарядку. Был фанатик с такой батареей. Заряжался от стандартной зарядки от смартфона. А вот так захочешь запасом пару штук.. Короче, загнали потом) Из-за этой самой проблемы.

5000 mAh @ 3.7v per battery comes out to roughly a little less than 2500mAh charged... So you need at least 2 batteries to charge your device.
