    Alright I’ve been dealing with a leaking back glass for several years. I’ve taken this truck to 3 dealers 2 body shops and 1 glass man. All have told me to replace the whole back glass. I ran across this not being able and had to try it. Fixed my problem. Never heard anything about drain holes

    Why does this video not have 20k likes??? This video is possibly the best money/time saving video a Ram owner could watch...I had no idea there were "drain holes" back there, I have the same problem in my 07 Ram, I checked the "drain holes", they were full. I jammed them until i could see daylight...problem solved! Great vid thank you! I will add that in my 07 1500 there is not a wire but a plastic guide that needs to be lifted out of the way to see the holes..just incase there are any 07 owners out there trying this.

    Worked fine for my 2007.5 Ram 3500. Since I was in there I went ahead and used some Q tips and some thin rags to clean out the whole track and remove dirt that would wind up being the next clog in the hole. And by the way , the 2007.5 does not have any plastic tracks- it's just an aluminum channel. It sounds like the 07 and earlier has a plastic insert sliding track that needs to be removed for cleaning the drain hole. Thanks for the tip!

    I've had to do this two or three times now on my 08 Ram after finding a terrible musky smell and wet carpet. Thanks for the video reminder on how to do it!

    And not only were my drains clogged, but I improved the drainage by opening the holes up with a #24 Drill bit. This allows the water to drain faster. Do both sides. Cheers!

    I have a 2011 ram ( just bought it used)
    I just discovered the compartments under the seat full of water.
    At first I thought it was the sunroof but this seems more likely
    I’m gonna go try this right now and see if it fixes it.
    Thanks for posting this, dude

    Great video! Worked like a charm. Thank you! BTW: Laptop cleaner stuff works best for blowing out the holes and I used a paint brush to clean out the rest of the dirt. My truck is a 2006 model and this has never been done..... so much dirt was built up.

      Jacob My truck is the 2007 without the power slider, and my weep holes were clogged up. I had the window replaced, and the idiot clogged my weep holes with gasket cement. I used a drill with a larger drill bit and it flows like a charm!

      Zach Ziesemer luckily I always kept a shop vac handy and let it dry out a lot with the windows down. Dodge really messed up with this design. I think they needed to put in more “weep holes” than 2 of them.

    Thank you so very much for your video!!! I was about to just put some kind of caulk down all over the sliding window which would have looked horrible and may not have worked!! Thanks Again. Also where the hole was in the plastic Channel ( that the window slides in) there was no hole in it directly over the drain hole so I cut a small part out in the plastic Channel over both the left and right side drain holes!

      Could be that you have a situation like PrecisionGroupYT in the comments below. He or she had to cut a hole in the plastic track. Mine had sludge that had to wiped away before I could see them. Hope that helps. Good luck!

    so I have an 07 with the power slider and the window was changed 3 times already and twice to the body shop to redo the opening to factory. if this is all that had to be done I can't believe it because I'm still living with towels under my rear seat. so I'm gonna try this and what the other reply said about cutting the slide trim. Thanks so much

    Have a 2015 ram and having problems with water filling up in storage holes in back, primarily on drivers side. Dealer unable to figure out issue. Told to talk to glass repair shop. What a poor design. It looks like folks here are having success cleaning as shown in video. Any other ideas?

    • @bernindogger7777777
      @bernindogger7777777  3 роки тому

      I agree, poor design. As long as the drain holes stay clear, it is not a problem but they clog pretty easily. Just something to keep an eye on. I now drive a 2014 Ram and it has a different set up but the same situation.

  • @fatkat311
    @fatkat311 2 роки тому +1

    This is such bullshit that the water is allowed to make its way in the cab in the first place. I’ve had Ford and Chevy trucks never had this problem. My 2008 has had three new windows in it and that track continues to fill up and run down the back of the cab. It’s absurd.

  • @TheJackal222
    @TheJackal222 3 роки тому

    Doesn’t that means the window still leaks??

    • @bernindogger7777777
      @bernindogger7777777  3 роки тому

      Yes, i suppose so. I guess that is how Dodge designed it. Let water in but give it a way to go right back out. Sun roofs are designed that way too. As long as those drain holes stay clear, it is not a problem. Pretty weak design though...

    imagine designing a truck to have leaks, absolutely lazy design.
