Me too, the problem was when I googled issues I compared all the half tons and this one had the least major problems compared to the others. And I wanted a v8 and many are just v6 with turbos and they are not the same anyway you want to twist it. Get the permatex windshield flowable silicone for the top rear window and that will solve the leak issue for years. Cheap easy fix. I also used regular permatex silicone that is thicker and put another layer over it. I truly like this truck, other than the issues so far. One guy said just replace the rear window with a solid one piece window and be done with it. Makes sense as I never open the rear window. Also I used the permatex thicker silicone to seal the top plastic flap I put over the RF Hub module. That way water cannot run into it as extra precautions. More of a sound mind for me! Good luck!

I'm currently experiencing the same issue. Back glass leaked and damaged the RF module. Dealer said it was going to be$2,500 to repair. Oh yah, my truck is a 2020 with 6,000 miles. Of course this happened just after warranty expired. This is a known problem. We recently had days of torrential rain. Dealer said mine was the fifth truck that came in with this issue. This needs to be a recall and ram needs to reimburse everyone that has had to pay for this repair

I made this video in hopes to help those that have the same problems. I have never done these before so sorry if it’s not real clear. Feel free to ask anything. And If you don’t have the issue yet, you will unless your pro active. It cost me $1,800. Dealer fix. RF hub module fail that’s behind middle rear seat back from water leaking from cracked window frame middle slider window. Luckily my truck was in my driveway when the key fob would not work. Nothing would work because of this RF Hub module fail. Sad that manufacturers, Dodge will not fix or redesign their own failed issues. Their quick answer was to wrap a dodge Mopar logo plastic around the RF Hub so when water leaks in they hope it will not get inside it and corrode it. They just keep replacing the same parts that keep breaking. My right side exhaust manifold cracked in half along with broken bolts, studs at 25,000 miles. Replaced with same problem parts, can’t wait for that one to go. And they will only fix recalls that are safety problems as the government will make them. Doesn’t matter if you purchased a $50,000. $60,000. $70,000. Or $80,000 plus truck, they don’t care. Profit above customers as always. Basically these trucks are throw away like the rest. Just my take! And At 60,000 miles, this truck will get traded in.

Good for you, rear seat four corner bolts and 2 bolts in middle bottom that anchors seat in case of crash. Have another person help take it right out of truck to have plenty of room to get to RF Hub. I didn’t because I didn’t want to take off shoulder seat belt. Just takes time. Plenty of videos that are great to permatex liquid window silicone. I also used regular permatex silicone for antenna on roof and roof brake light. I wasn’t taking any chances. Good luck!

Just got my 2020 Ram 1500 Limited out of the shop yesterday. Same exact issue. Everything that happened to you happened to me, exactly. Had to have it towed to the dealership. The service tech said that Ram is aware of this issue & is extending the warranty for this particular problem They replaced the rear window & replaced the RF hub for free. Not sure why you had to pay.The tow was covered but they still hade to charge me $230.00 for a service charge . With a 3 day car rental, this whole episode cost me around $800.00. Ram needs to do something different.Good luck..

Did you look to see if they wrapped a mopar plastic sandwich bag around your RF Hub? If not, go look, something out of the prehistoric ages. Crazy these big companies continue to fix with same old flawed designed parts. When they are truly a small fix. Just the negative backlash from customers it generates isn’t good business as you can see from truck sales across the spectrum. Dodge is so far behind the others. And my truck was out of warranty at 41k miles. And don’t forget about the manifold exhaust failings at under 10k miles. Just crack in half, replace with same part not redesigned one. Luckily mine broken exhaust manifold was under warranty. At 60k this Ram truck will be for sale.

You helped me figure out exactly what was wrong with it. I’ll be removing the back seat this weekend and sealing everything now that the rf module is fixed. I’m going to see if I can move the rf module up, too. Watched many videos before yours and noticed that the 2019s and prior, the rf module was located above the exhauster vents. 2020 and on, the rf module is between or below the vents…pretty much guaranteeing the rf module will fry if any water or moisture gets through.

Well, I have a 2020 ram 1500 but it is a classic SLT. I do have this window design but I have not noticed any water or leaks coming out from my window. My current situation is that I had a tire pressure monitor sensor that was connecting and disconnecting on Long highway drives at about 70 mph. I assumed it was just a TMS sensor. I replaced that then it wouldn’t register after driving it for multiple days. It just had the two dash marks. I then proceeded to go get a Mopar brand TMS sensor I replaced that aftermarket one with the factory sensor and now my driver side sensors both aren’t registering. I’m gambling whether or not to buy a radio frequency hub instead of paying $200 to have a diagnostic since I can get the radio frequency hub for $113 then I’ll have to pay to have it programmed but I’m kind of in between a rock and a hard place. I know if my window did leak I would just replace the thing with the solid back glass, aftermarket and be done.

    • @leftturn6720

I assume if it was under 36 months and 36,000 miles. Mine has 40,000 miles and went out of warranty 36 months last September. I was one of the unlucky ones. When I googled the issue there are many people with this leak problem. There was even lawsuits that a judge ruled against customers giving the win to Dodge. Obviously he was bought off. There’s a reason these window frames crack in the same place over the rear middle sliding window. And seals breaking resulting in water leaking down the back of the back seat. Definitely from bad design.

There are a select few covered by an extended warranty from FCA. Popular thought is they covered just enough to say they solved it by extending warranty for certain batches of the vehicle. You'll have to log into mopar and check your VIN. My 2021 got the extended warranty for the 3rd brake light (TSB XG1) gasket but not the rear window frame crack (TSB XL1). It's total BS. The dealer charged $250 to diagnose (I'm pretty sure with a flashlight and a water hose) and said I'm a month and a half out of factory warranty and Maxcare warranty doesn't cover water leaks. The service guy gave me FCA's phone number to open a case and said some people have had success getting them to pay for the repair ($2200). I called FCA and they told me my VIN didn't qualify and basically hung up on me. I'm going to replace the vents since that is a known issue and I've never seen any water from the window frame. I'll use permatex flowable silicone on the window and protect the RF Hub just as a precaution though. After I call FCA again and complain about the issue and the customer service rep that just stopped responding for a few minutes before sending me to the automated customer survey.
