In a nutshell: Deadpool and Wolverine is a parody of everything wrong with Marvel as a late and finally giving endings to characters in comedic ways For Dr Strange MoM, its literally 75% of America Chavez screaming, 20% of unnecessary BS, and 5% of bad cameos
@@ShadowSonic2 Deadpool is just Deadpool, it works. The character, the game made around it, the comics, and the movies. Not a single one has ever flopped, bec it's just Deadpool. You can't say the same thing about a movie with lackluster cameos (the only two good ones being snuffed out in minutes) and completely circulated around the Scarlet Witch. The movie is called Doctor Strange 2, not Scarlet Witch, WandaVision already gave us a healthy dose of Wanda and what happened to her post-Infinity War.
No, the real difference is that Strange 2 gave us what we wanted: Krasinski as Reed, and I'm sure we were all hoping Marvel would keep him, but instead tossed aside Krasinski to give us Pascal, so ALL we have of Krasinski is him getting torn apart by Wanda. Meanwhile, we'd already had two movies of Evans as Torch, then had several years of him as Cap, so the reveal of him as Torch was a total surprise and nobody really cared that Cassandra killed him, since we had already had our fun with that character. We weren't missing out on a Chris Evans Torch because we already had it. We missed out on a John Krasinski Reed, though, because his cameo could have led to a starring role, but didn't.
No bro Krasinski simply refused to be Reed and only did the cameo as a favor because of how popular fancasting had gotten. Why do you guys never take into account if the actors even want to play the character or not? Samething with the guy everybody wanted to play Doom, like he just doesn’t want too. Because the F4 movie is taking place in a different dimension so Krasinski could have still played Reed if he wanted too anyway.
another fact is that captain carter defeated omnipotent god strange in what if and was instantly killed in the movie. like is she strong or weak wtf is the power scaling
If they wanted to kill him off, they should of made him stretch around Wanda and wrap himself around her, buying time for the others to escape. Everyone knows when you want to kill off a fan favorite character, it’s gotta go in a way of self sacrifice, killing of hundreds of minions/big bad, or as a plot point for introducing a new villain.
Real problem is because Reed died while being out of character (being stupid when he is supposed to be smart) Johnny died because Deadpool was being himself.
Simple answer- John was given a very minimal screen time!! And his character didn't created any impact!! He just came and died Whearas chris was given a decent screent time(for a cameo) and his character created an impact!! Like everybody in my theatre people were thinking it's Captain America until he said "Flame on"!! And even had a great chat with Deadpool 😂!! Both the actors played the role well but it's always about writing!!
Wrong. Krasinski cameo did work, the entire premise of saying his cameo didn’t work is just a lie. His bit explaining incursions has been one of the most important and reused clips since Endgame. On top of his death just being amazing when you first watch the movie because you don’t think Wanda is about to go that hard, but she does.
@@Byronic19134she only goes hard on everyone except the character she is supposed to go hard at. If they make a movie of 2hrs about plot holes and ridiculous writing of doctor strange 2 it'll turn out way better than the movie itself
3:23 let's be real, hugh jackman coming back was already guaranteed to put butts in seats. Also, little fun fact, Marvel didn't want to include her in any of the trailers, but Kevin Feige approved it so that she could attend the premiere.
I feel like the main reason I lived Chris's cameo and not John's is how long they were in the movie for. John was in MoM for like 2-3 minutes, Chris was in DaW for like 10-15 minutes. It felt like they didnt care about Reed Richards at all, just had him in the movie for a lottle as just a wink and a nod before killing him in the most anti-climatic way possible. Human torch has a lot happen with him, and he is the catalyst for voth several jokes, as well as several plot points. He fakes us out with his reveal, he is the first instance of Cassandra showing us just how strong she is, his death motivates the resistance to fight, and the end credits scene was one of the funniest jokes in the entire movie. Human Torch has substance, Reed Richards did not
2:25 I don't know about that part. F4 movies may have had issues but Chris Evans was the perfect humans Torch along with Ben. The human torch, ben and Doom when the most memorable part of the F4. Reed Richards not that much
It's mostly because of it being the most wanted fan casting and Marvel just killed him just for a checklist. I think if John was casted back as Mr Fantastic in the new Fantastic 4 I think more people would be accepting it. Just my take. Still hype for Pascal's take on Mr Fantastic.
I don’t care for Pedro Pescal as an actor after he got all political and compared half the country to nazis because they are different thinkers to him. I’d much rather have John and Emily as Reed and Sue (since they did in fact kill it in quite place) but Emily didn’t want to do superhero movies. So whatever, fuck the fantastic four, I hope that film flops hard.
Honestly I'm more mad at how they killed prof X. Friendly reminder that he fought DARK PHOENIX telepathically and won, yet in MoM he's a wimp in the mind realm.
mmiskarian2206 Krasinski apparently wasn’t interested in investing to the character long term. Playing a role like Reed Richards would’ve been a MASSIVE commitment long term. Given all the directing and producing Krasinski does now, I doubt he could’ve done that on top of playing one of Marvel’s most important characters
In fairness, Johnny is fire or engulfed in flames. Pyro, however, has control over all fire and flame. Him absorbing Johnny isn't absurd or inaccurate, in fact he's done it in the comic (Ultimate, if I recall right.)
I think the real question is: How strong is Pyro's ability to manipulate fire? Can he contain a nuclear explosion? Human Torch's fire is supposed to be so strong he can go supernova. That's why some fans believe Human Torch can overpower Pyro.
Chris Evans' cameo was comedic while John Krasinki's Reed ("Smartest man alive") just seriously revealed Black Bolt's power to Wanda, so she could block it. And then tried to attack the witch, who just had destroyed security and Black Bolt, by hand which, of course, failed
Another point is the reference itself. For Krasinki the cameo required you to be an active part of the fandom to be aware of the reference On the other hand a majority of Deadpools fans have probably watched or were familiar with the fantastic four movies and the fact that Chris Evens played two mayor marvel characters. Therefore a bigger percentage of the audience would understand and enjoy the cameo
The point doesn't quite work out when you realise to understand Channing Tatum's Gambit cameo you had to be on the fandom to get it too. It was just as much anticipated as Krasinski, but the difference is it paid off.
John krasinskis didnt work because they made his mr fantastic a dumbass. Mfer revealed black bolts weakness to the girl who has reality warping powers 😂
Please 😂, Doctor Strange 2 neg diffs Deadpool and Wolverine in terms of how well-written the plot is. I liked Deadpool and Wolverine, I really did, but the cameos were the cover up for how messy the plot really is.
@@misterflibble2931Wrong, the cameos were to cover up for the awful writing in Doctor Strange 2, Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness is such a terrible film.
@@misterflibble2931 such a good plot that the character motivations had to literally be presented via a “memory tv player” that makes no sense and a Wanda who’s entire goal makes no sense when she can just hop to a universe that doesn’t have a Wanda and play mommy there instead of trauma-genociding over her make-belief children.
Correction: You're wrong. Human Tourch is not stronger than Pyro. Pyro can control and manipulate fire. He can easily absorb the fire from Human Torch. In the same way, Rogue used Pyro's power by touching his leg to absorb the fire in X2 when Pyro went nuts on the police at Bobby's parent's house.
No, Johnny high diffs Pyro. Even without his flame, Pyro’s fire can’t melt his skin off in his human form, because his fire is weaker. He may have more control over it, but not more output like Johnny or basically anybody whose fire is weaker than Johnny’s cannot melt or hurt him. Even so, Johnny always beat Pyro in hand-to-hand combat situations time and time again. Johnny clears, albeit high difficulty because Pyro has proven himself a powerful adversary. It’s just funny to see that the MCU nerfed Johnny to oblivion, but they did it for a good reason.
Dude when you consider their power they are not even in same rank,Human Torch should wipe the floor with Pyro every time,he is immune to heat and fire while Pyro is only immune to the flames he controls and he cant generate flames. All the Human Torch needs to do to win is just stand close by and raise his temperature to the point where Pyro just melts or suffocates.
I’m just glad that Ioan Gruffudd wasn’t recasted. It would’ve been a spit in the face for long-time Marvel fans to see the original Mr. Fantastic get killed off as a gag. Not to mention, Johnny Storm wasn’t forgotten about immediately. Deadpool & Wolverine constantly reminded the audience that Johnny is dead
I still believe that the Johnny Storm cameo is a product of the late reshoots and he pretty much replaced the TVA agent that deadpool sent into the void in the opening scene. He also appeared in the trailers getting killed by Alioth. Both could have served the same purpose of introducing Cassandra Nova
@shawngillespie3532 What? You're telling me you don't like the fact that the Smartest Man Alive told Wanda what Black Bolt's power was, thereby giving her an opportunity to counter it or stop him from using it? Get out of here. 😤
Unfortunately a character can only be as smart as the person who wrote them. Even if the writer can give them more "knowledge" and "reactive thinking speed", they can't really improve the character's intelligence above their own. It's kind of like sci-fi films in general. They don't take into account problems related to actual physics because the writers never realized certain things are problems. For example, Ironman falling from the wormhole should've died regardless of whether Hulk caught him or not. The only difference is that he should've snapped in half upon hitting Hulk's arm instead of being turned into canned mush when hitting the ground.
I totally agree with your explanation. Also I want to see Chris Evans's human torch and John krasinski's mr fantastic and emily blunt's mrs fantastic as one single team of fantastic 4, which will be awesome.
7:54 excellent analysis but the death of the Human Torch is also a good joke, because Wade says that he broke the budget. So it’s even part of the joke. Tone is everything.
It's been fun seeing Johnny and Reed as canon fodder for multiverse movies, but I think it's time to take them seriously. I hope Fantastic Four: First Steps makes the team more respected in the MCU.
Really like how you point out the difference between killing the human torch and Captain American. The aftermatch and curveball that Deadpool managed her is cool
Human torch was locked up. Mr. Fantastic was fighting someone in a straight line. It would of been better if they actually tried to fight Wanda, but there was barely anything. Imagine Wanda using projections to avoid black bolt and have Mr. Fantastic punch a bunch of projection clones. They barely even got to show off their powers, even after being built up.
My problem is easily summed up in two sentences >Supposed to be the smartest man >Explains his trump card to enemy That's on tope of the fact that black bolt trained to never make a sound by accident yet screamed because his mouth was sealed despite inhumans being able to do much more horrific things. On top of that, that is not how sound works. Closing your mouth doesn't reflect your soundwave s back in, it just dampens it a little. His powers should have worked anyway
I was hyped for John to play Reed Richards but when I saw it, even before the spaghetti death, it didn’t feel as right as I thought it would. It’s not just the bad death that makes it not work. I’m glad they did the cameo so we could see if it worked or not.
Mutliverse of Madness would've worked if they portrayed Strange in the way they showed him in Infinity War. Two of the greatest Magicians sparring against each other. That was what people were expecting, Wanda Vs Strange. But even in the climax, we didn't even see a spike of the powers he showed in movies like infinity war.
I honestly wanted to see John Krasinski play him again and actually get a chance to play him right, because the dr strange just wasted him so fast and made him look so dumb, like yeah i can say he sucked in that, but i feel like the writing had everything to do with it and not the actor idk maybe its just me
Love that you blurred Johnny’s death and didn’t blur RR’s. In my opinion, RR’s is much more uncomfortable and difficult to watch, despite being far less overtly gorey.
That is exactly why I don’t watch movie trailers anymore. Because me having no idea i was going to see X23 all grown up again in Deadpool and Wolverine made it so much better.
*Correction* This Johnny Storm isn't from the 616 Universe. He might be from the same Fantastic Four Movie Universe or even from a different universe but with the same face as the one from the movie, because being in the void doesn't mean everything or everyone in there is from the 616 Universe
John's Reed being called the smartest man before being killed like a goon... They probably just didn't like him in the role and were like, "Here you go. You can shut up now." And about Johnny. I would've preferred keeping him alive, but at that point what can you even do with the character so I totally understand. Especially now that the new F4 is coming out.
Here’s why John’s appearance really didn’t work, people had been begging for him to play Mr Fantastic, then when we finally get him the writing was dog shat and his character was just dumb and then he’s killed and then almost immediately the company decides to replace him with a casting no one asked for. Where for Chris Evans appearance the character was already established and beloved by most and his story was already finished so his appearance in dp&w it’s just to show us what happened to those characters after their story was finished and it was pretty funny
I didn't complain about Sabertooth's death because that was referenced in XMen: Origins, when Sabertooth asked: "Jimmy, do you even know how to kill me?" Wolverine: "I'm gonna cut your fuckin head off, see if that works." That was literally the best part of that shit show.
John Krasinki’s cameo was great. Problem is something cool comes out and everyone loses their mind. This is why this worked and this sucked. His cameo as Mr Fantastic was great. The only bad thing is that it was just a cameo and he’s not cast as Mr Fantastic in the upcoming movie.
I'm still mad that Marvel went with Pedro Pascal instead of giving John Krasinski another chance, they gave him the most important line in the multiverse saga explaining the incursions and then kill him off two minutes later. Michael Waldron said that he originally wrote a scene were 838 Mister Fantastic regenerates himself and is seen recording the rest of the events of the film at the Baxter Foundation, but that scene was never filmed. So, as someone who really enjoyed seeing John Krasinski as Reed, in hindsight, his appearance does feel wasted.
Unfortunate that Krasinski won’t be the main Reed because last I heard is that he isn’t interested to play the character long term, hence why we got Pedro Pascal instead. Dunno how he’ll do as Reed Richards, but we’ll see.
We didn't remember? It was awesome to pull Chris Evan's character from F4 with DP initially thinking he was Cap. It reminded me of DP making fun of Ryan's original DP and Green Lantern or even the nod to the Blade 3 drama between Ryan and Wesley Snipes.
1:42 That's not how you say the expession. You have to say it like Steve Martin on SNL... "But, Nooooooo. We have to have him killed off after two minutes." We remember Johnny's death because he was teased as being Captain Amreica(many forgot Evans played Johnny Storm) , how he was killed because of DeadPool's mouth, and the after credit cut scene. And let's not forget DogPool. 😆
But gambit didn't die if your talking about 97 then your wrong as it was important to the story and he's coming back in season 2 as death Apacolypse horseman
Krasinski is perfect as Reed Richard's and deserves to play that character more than Pedro Pascal as much as I love Pedro but John is a much better fit
To be honest, the Human Torch is one of my favorite superheroes, and seeing him nerfed and treated as a punching bag made me mad. Deadpool's excuse for his demise (inflating the budget) is bullshit, and I still hold it that both John Krasinski's Reed Richards and Chris Evans's Johnny Storm were killed off for the same reason. Marvel wants moviegoers to forget about those characters because they have another version of the Fantastic Four to make money and merchandising off of.

@@ShadowSonic2you call that(MoM) shit- plot? They fcuked Stephen Strange's character
Well said
@@ShadowSonic2cope harder bud 😂
Krasinski said he'd only do one appearance as Reed and not a continuing role, that's why they went with Pedro
@@Byronic19134 I didn't know that. Thanks.
@@ShadowSonic2He never said that, Marvel never gave him the option to come back. Quote him saying he only wanted to play Reed once.
@@Byronic19134He never refused to play Reed again lmao, where do you guys get this stuff?
If you actually believe that then quote it.
another fact is that captain carter defeated omnipotent god strange in what if and was instantly killed in the movie. like is she strong or weak wtf is the power scaling
Welcome to comics
She had a team supporting her. She didn't do it alone.
It's also not the what if version of captain carter so
If they wanted to kill him off, they should of made him stretch around Wanda and wrap himself around her, buying time for the others to escape. Everyone knows when you want to kill off a fan favorite character, it’s gotta go in a way of self sacrifice, killing of hundreds of minions/big bad, or as a plot point for introducing a new villain.
not to mention, this the first time she came on live-action with the suit
Real problem is because Reed died while being out of character (being stupid when he is supposed to be smart)
Johnny died because Deadpool was being himself.
Although in comics you have to admit, for a smart guy, he's made some pretty stupid decisions.
Yeah, let’s inform the enemy the name of the move my teammate is going to use, surely it won’t bite us back.
Exactly and johnny Storm is kinda hothead at the same time
Simple answer- John was given a very minimal screen time!! And his character didn't created any impact!! He just came and died
Whearas chris was given a decent screent time(for a cameo) and his character created an impact!! Like everybody in my theatre people were thinking it's Captain America until he said "Flame on"!! And even had a great chat with Deadpool 😂!!
Both the actors played the role well but it's always about writing!!
Well said friend !!!👏👏
@@Byronic19134 I would love to see John Again as Mr.Fantastic but as a main character!! He deserves a lot of screen time!!
Also, little fun fact, Marvel didn't want to include her in any of the trailers, but Kevin Feige approved it so that she could attend the premiere.
it was disney actually who forced marvel to let X-23 come to the premium
2:16 I DO. HUMAN TORHC WAS GOATED TAKE IT BAKC
Donald the Duck? 🤨 You mean, Howard the Duck?...
😂
Well it is the multiverse.
it is Disney..right?
Human Torch has substance, Reed Richards did not
Did you just call it deadpool vs wolverine DvW it's deadpool AND wolverine
@@Thebatmaniac-o7x Sorry, typing on phone is hard, I fixed it
2:25 I don't know about that part.
@@geeebuttersnap2433Please go outside and become a normal human being
Honestly I'm more mad at how they killed prof X. Friendly reminder that he fought DARK PHOENIX telepathically and won, yet in MoM he's a wimp in the mind realm.
Sadly, that ain't Xavier from the X-Men movies, that's an Xavier that LOOKS like the one from the Fox continuity, but nah, he ain't him
I can’t believe they took John krasinski away and gave us f*****g Pedro pascal😭😭😭
Krasinski said he wouldn't do more than 1 appearance, that's why
RIGHT ?!?!?!?!
mmiskarian2206 Krasinski apparently wasn’t interested in investing to the character long term.
@@LeedleLee457 simple, there are strong as the writers need to be.
For Krasinki the cameo required you to be an active part of the fandom to be aware of the reference
On the other hand a majority of Deadpools fans have probably watched or were familiar with the fantastic four movies and the fact that Chris Evens played two mayor marvel characters.
Op is right. I think John as reed and didn't even know Tatum was a gambit, those casting choices make me retch. The fans have zero taste and sense.
John krasinskis didnt work because they made his mr fantastic a dumbass. Mfer revealed black bolts weakness to the girl who has reality warping powers 😂
Reed Richards giving away key information due to his overconfidence? No that would never ever happen
I care. Chris Evans human torch is one of my all time favorite heroes 😢

Multiverse of Madness sucked and Deadpool & Wolverine didn't.
I believe you're right, Sir.
@@YouMissedAgainTimes32024 No it's not. It's better written than most of Phases 1 and 2 were.
These are variants. They don't have to follow the cannon of the main universe.

Yeah, the making of this movie is kinda a mess, would explain why it's plot is kinda barebones
Reed Richard's didn't act anywhere near intelligent when confronting Wanda was my only problem with that
@shawngillespie3532 What?
Deadpool snitched on Johnny on purpose to get him killed just because he wanted Chris Evans as Captain America, not the Human Torch.
No bruv it was cus Chris Evans was taking a toll on movie's budget
@@BabaSmeone Deadpool is a hardcore fan of Captain America, so it's not surprising for him to snitch on Johnny because he subverted his expectations.

I liked how they did Elektra justice. Also it kinda messed up that Rambeu, Carter didn’t try to save Reed as Wanda was making him Betty Spaghetti
I agree, it still hurts to see that scene after having mentioned his wife and kids. I never felt like it was a properly handled, well delivered cameo.

The scene with Chris Evans was ACTUALLY a cameo. Recasting and treating them like a new character is in no way a cameo, so it doesn’t work like one.
Chris Evans was good as the Human Torch and I'm happy the FF 2000's movies are starting to get some appreciation.

I still think multiverse of madness is overhated. The horror element was new and refreshing for a marvel movie

They probably just didn't like him in the role and were like, "Here you go. You can shut up now."
And about Johnny. I would've preferred keeping him alive, but at that point what can you even do with the character so I totally understand. Especially now that the new F4 is coming out.
The tone of Dr. Strange 2 seems like Dr Strange is a side character in his own movie. That’s not a good thing sidelining your main character.

Krasinski said he wasn't interested in more than a cameo appearance
Unfortunate that Krasinski won’t be the main Reed because last I heard is that he isn’t interested to play the character long term, hence why we got Pedro Pascal instead.
Dunno how he’ll do as Reed Richards, but we’ll see.
Still so sad we won't see John Krasinski as Reed. He was perfect 😭
We didn't remember? It was awesome to pull Chris Evan's character from F4 with DP initially thinking he was Cap. It reminded me of DP making fun of Ryan's original DP and Green Lantern or even the nod to the Blade 3 drama between Ryan and Wesley Snipes.

Don't call it the multiverse of madness when there is hardly any multiverse traveling with wasted cameos
Krasinski is perfect as Reed Richard's and deserves to play that character more than Pedro Pascal as much as I love Pedro but John is a much better fit
If they brought in Daniel Radcliffe as a Wolverine cameo and didn’t kill him off in a ridiculous way I would be immensely disappointed.
Kinda feels like it, although I do only have Johnny's out of context, spoiled through shorts😑, so I haven't seen all of his scenes, but I saw him get manhandled by pyro🙃
Deadpool's excuse is a joke. He's in the movie for the joke, and it's not that serious. Deadpool and Wolverine is a comedy movie first and foremost.
