  • Hello. Here is a tutorial on how to crochet a perfectly round project - placemat!
Tips on how to crochet a round and flat circle without weird corner formations. It can be used in any round crochet project 🥳
The written pattern is here: lerugicrochets.com/how-to-cro...
The yarn used in this project is YarnArt Macrame Cotton cord. One skein (250g, ~250 yards) should be enough to make 2 placemats. You can use any similar yarn like macrame 2mm or 3mm cord as well as polyester cord 2mm.

The only kind of YarnArt macrame cotton cord I can find on Amazon is their “spectrum” (varied colors) product. I want a solid navy blue. Is there any other comparable product that would work as well? If so, can you recommend weight and amount to buy? I’d like to make four placemats. And Amazon for overnight delivery, if possible! I wonder why Amazon isn’t selling the solid colors? Thank you, if you can help! I’m a total beginner.

Oh yes, I can see that this yarn might not be available. You can make this pattern work with a lot of different yarns or cords. For example, any macrame cotton cord 2mm or 3mm will work fine. As well, if you like more shiny materials use polyester macrame cord 2mm, this will be a lot easier to crochet because it is more slippery. And roughly around 250yards will be enough to make 2 placemats. So for 4 placemats 500yards (400g or 500g depending on the cord).
Hope it will help! If you have any more questions you can contact me on Instagram @lerugi.crochets

I got to the end however the directions on the website states to “secure your yarn end with a couple of knots and weave in all the ends.” Which this video doesn’t show, and im a beginner so how exactly do I do that without making my last edge piece look funky?

apologies for not showing the very last step of finishing the project. I have another video were I weave ends on camera like this one ua-cam.com/video/cf2qQZGd-PI/v-deo.htmlsi=Kw8ngcuKPLkj2Lcn&t=1514
and here how to close the center ua-cam.com/video/Kb8lB__jQqQ/v-deo.htmlsi=kynrcNzXI0A7O2vD&t=869
but I can make a separate video on how to weave yarn in different situations and secure the ends

How do I keep making it bigger

It depends on how much bigger you want. But keep making rounds for example round 10 between increases do gaps of 8 single dc (total 120 st), round 11 place increases between 9 dc (total 132 st) and so on. Adding extra round approximately adds 2 cm (if you use similar yarn and hook)
