In 50 plus years this is the first time I have seen the best easiest Magic Circle and never have I seen the switch and seem less circle this makes so much more sense . Thank you.
As a beginner, I found it the opposite. Even in slo mo I can’t follow how the initial magic circle is formed. Watching a very skilled person do something beiayifully is not necessarily very enlightening about how to do it.
@@eh1702 It took me a while, but after seeing someone do it. All of a sudden, it clicked. Just remember that it's not really complicated. Keep trying -- watch different people make them. Good luck.
Doing this as my first crochet project! I got frustrated with my knitting project and thought why don't I learn how to crochet tonight instead. This is so easy to follow and the circle comes out perfect - thank you! Going to make a circular blanket to put in my dog's bed.
I've tried many tutorials and ended up doing something completely different...This is hands down the best tutorial about circles I've seen so far thank you so much !!
This is, hands down, the best crochet circle tutorial I've seen, I've tried plenty of tutorials with varying types of stitches, yarn over, yarn under, this or that and my circles never looked quite right... until now! That was a very good tutorial to get the perfect circle 😊 can I keep increasing if I need a bigger circle ? Like 3dc , 1inc .. next round 4dc, 1inc like that ?
I'm really happy to hear that, thank you so much! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ Sure, If you want to continue growing the circle, continue growing the pattern: for each row, add 1 more dc before doing the increase. 😊
Thank you for this tutorial !! It’s so helpful and I appreciate you showing In detail… I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but can you do this with single crochet ? Would you just do the sc in first stitch without doing a chain 1 ? 😊
I'm really happy to hear that, thank you so much! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ No problem at all. 😊 You can definitely adapt this using single crochet, without the chain 1 at the beginning of the row. 😊
Lovely tutorial thank you so very much for sharing your talent and the extra tip to get rid of seems in the circle 💚🦋💚😊💚🦋💚.. question..what would i fo if i eanted to make yhe circle mich bigger?
I'm thrilled you love the tutorial and found it helpful, thanks a lot! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ To continue growing your circle, for each row, add 1 more dc before doing the increases. 😊
This looks perfect. I’m going to try it tomorrow. Have you ever made one of 100% wool and tried felting it? I was wondering if it comes out flat? Either way I’m going to try that too. Thanks for sharing your talents. 😊
I love this tutorial. It’s a game changer. I just wish you verbally explained what you were doing. I had to rewind and back up sooo many times because I’m trying to read the instructions and watch where you are placing the hook at the same time. Eventually I got the hang of it. It really is a perfect circle.
Thank you so much! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ I'm so glad you loved it and found it helpful! 😊 Thanks for the suggestion though, spoken instructions could be an option in the future.
Aside from the perfect pattern I admire your way of holding the yarn and the hook, I must try that, because the "classic" way hurts my hands so much :/
Thank you so much! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ I strongly recommend switching it up, whether it's to mine or another technique. It definitely doesn't have to be the one you're using now which hurts your hands. Finding a comfortable method is essential in crochet. 😊
Thank you for this video - nice and slow and good closeup views of what you’re doing. Why does each new row start with sc + chain1 instead of a double crochet?
hi! thank you for this, it worked wonders! now i'm trying apply it on my beanie project, but this has an assortment of stitches, not just dc. do i still do the sc, ch1 if i'm doing a round of hdc? thank you some much ❤
You're welocome! 😊 Crochet circles are super useful and versatile. You can use them for all sorts of things, like bags, baskets, coasters, appliques to sew, plushies, organizers...😅
Glad you like it, thanks a lot! 🙏 ❤️ ☺️ For single crochet start with 6-8 stitches in 1st row, while for treble crochet you might want to start with 14-16 stitches, depending on your tension. You'll increase by the same number of stitches you began with in subsequent rows..
@@massivecrochet thank you! Do I start with the (1sc, 1ch) as the first stitch for every row as well or do I have to do something different to match the height of the stitch I want to use for the circle, for example the single crochet stitch? Hope my question makes sense :)
@@baopham2816 No problem!😊 If you're working with just single crochet you don't need the 1sc, 1ch at the beginning of each row, you can start directly with a single crochet as your first stitch.
Thank you for your tutorial. i don't know why, but I have about 48 stitches on the second round after the magic circle 7:41 . I was gonna redo it,but it looks about right.
@@bbyaxc You're welcome! 😊 You can also work 10 dc, but then the increases will be 10 stitches each row (2nd row 20 instead of 24, 30 for the 3rd row instead of 36, and so on). If you prefer to change stitches and work sc, start with 6 or 8. If you want to work hdc, you can start with 8 or 10.
I'm kind of confused on the last round that you show. Do you make 2 of the double crochet stitches into each stitch or do you skip every other stitch and then do 2 double crochets into the stitches? Is there a way that you could write out the instructions in detail for people like me who are not very proficient at this yet? I love your videos and the stitches you show, you are extremity talented. /Thank you for everything!!
You'll find the instructions on the top left corner: you have to alternate: 1 dc increase (2 dc in 1 stitch) - 2 dc (1dc in each of the next 2 stitches). 😊 Thank you very much indeed! 🥰 🙏 😊 ❤️
Hi, you can certainly make a ball, just work the circle until you reach the circumference of the ball which will determine its size. Then continue working the stitches in the round without increases and finally work the decreases to close it. 😊
I tried this, front part is perfect but the back side isn’t as seemless. Maybe I didn’t follow it right? do you have a picture of what the back side looks like?
Using this technique, both sides look good. So, it's possible that the tension is the issue here, maybe you're pulling too tightly when you finish the rows.
Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial and also for your answer to this very good question! I wanted to ask exactly the same thing. Kind greetings from the Netherlands!
Sure, If you want to continue growing the circle, continue growing the pattern. For each row, add 1 more dc before doing the increase. 😊 Glad to hear, thanks a lot! 🙏 ❤️ 😊

Is it also possible to do it seamless with single crochets?
Absolutely.
Thank you for your tutorial. i don't know why, but I have about 48 stitches on the second round after the magic circle 7:41 . I was gonna redo it,but it looks about right.
I think that so
GRACIAS MAESTRA POR COMPARTIR SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO D F BENDICIONES 😊😮😅😊
You’re welcome! 😊 God bless you! 🙏 ❤️ 🌸 🕊 🙋🏻♀️
I'm confused, so you close the circle by joining to the first dc but the first dc is 1sc+1ch count as dc?
Exactly! It looks like she's skipping a stitch.
Exactly. It seems like you're skipping a stitch, but actually the join creates the last stitch.
@@massivecrochet thank you! can i start the circle with less stitches? or it should be 12 st in the beginning to make a perfect circle?
@@bbyaxc You're welcome! 😊 You can also work 10 dc, but then the increases will be 10 stitches each row (2nd row 20 instead of 24, 30 for the 3rd row instead of 36, and so on). If you prefer to change stitches and work sc, start with 6 or 8. If you want to work hdc, you can start with 8 or 10.
@@massivecrochet thank you sooo much, it helps a lot!! I've subscribed your channel as well
Can I do with 3.0 mm hook?
Sure! Just keep in mind that the circumference of the circle will grow more slowly with a smaller hook.
I hope this helps: instead of 1dc, 2dcin next st, 2dc in next st you do 1dc, 1dc, 2dc in next st, repeat ( 1dc,1dc,2dc) around.
Perfecto 👌
Thank you so much! 🥰 🙏 ❤️
If I want to add more rows how can I count the stitches?
To continue growing the circle, for each row add 1 more dc before doing the increase. 😊
@@massivecrochet thank you
Hi i wanted to ask a question, will i be able to make a ball with this flat circle?.
Hi, you can certainly make a ball, just work the circle until you reach the circumference of the ball which will determine its size. Then continue working the stitches in the round without increases and finally work the decreases to close it. 😊
❤❤😊
🙏 ❤️ ☺️
what should I do for 5th round? is it the same stiches as 4th round?
Keep growing the pattern by adding one more dc before the increase in each row.
Does the sc, chain one work with all stitches or just the double crochet stitch?
Also hdc
Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial and also for your answer to this very good question! I wanted to ask exactly the same thing. Kind greetings from the Netherlands!

Is there a way to add another row? It’s super easy thank you so much!!!
Sure, If you want to continue growing the circle, continue growing the pattern. For each row, add 1 more dc before doing the increase. 😊 Glad to hear, thanks a lot! 🙏 ❤️ 😊
was looking for this comment. needed some more rows!! thanks so much!
@@aliciabernardi8905 You’re welcome! 😊
And how many increases if we want to continue making it larger?
Keep growing the pattern by adding one more dc before the increase in each row.
