The strike module sounds are excellent and it’s the most features for the money hands down of all modules. I have both strike module and td-17, while I like the Roland cymbal sounds more, the strike drum sounds are phenomenal imo. The strike editor program for Mac/pc is very powerful tool, being able to import VST multi layer samples gives it unlimited potential

The thing is a piece of shit. Save your money and get a Roland kit that will last you a lifetime... take one trip to the Alesis forums and read the endless number of horror stories..... meanwhile people are still playing their TD9 from 10 years ago lol save your money and buy the industry standard not budget drums because they look cool. They will break.

@@grxygxds Alesis has some solid sounds. It looks like they've fixed the hi-hat (which was problematic on the original Strike). From what I've heard, these new mesh heads are some of the best across any manufacturer. You have to give Alesis some credit, this is a strong offering at $2,500. There's not a perfect e-kit out there, not even from Roland. Undoubtedly, though, Roland is fantastic! Yamaha has some some decent kits and so does Alesis. Your advice to avoid this set and save for a Roland isn't necessarily good advice for everyone. Would you tell someone not to buy the award-winning Kia Telluride SUV, because they should save up for a wildly more expensive Range Rover? If this Strike Pro SE fits someone's budget, it's tough to find a better kit at this price point. Some may think you're a piece of shiite, but surely you have some redeeming qualities--much like this Strike Pro SE.

      @grxygxds 4 роки тому +3

@@joeg4707 hahahah Enjoy your piece of shit drumset dude...sometimes people don't know how to save money and convince themselves because they're poor that somehow a set that is only a little bit more expensive is somehow out of their reach, not taking into account that longevity, re-sale ability, Quality components , amazing customer service and industry standard are all things associated with roland not alesis. I've played the kits man all of them i live 2 minutes away from a massive long and McQuade and own the td27kvs and have owned multiple sets in the past and one thing I can tell you is that when you cheap out on equipment you end up regretting it...so when you are taking apart your alesis within the first week and annoyed with mis firing triggers and and plauged with endless issues remember...my Roland came out of the box and worked and felt like a dream from the get go and I'll be smashing on it as hard as I can for the next 5+ years at which time I will sell it for more than what your Alesis strike cost you 5 years prior 😂 Sorry man but I hate alesis, if you've talked to over 100 people plauged with issues who have sent everything from modules to snares to cymbals or been forced to take their kit apart, and read nearly 500 complaints about the kit you would probably understand.. Alesis makes a poor man's drumset....Cheap shit don't last, go to any music store and just ask about some horror stories....if they don't work on commission you'll get an honest answer.

If you get an opportunity to answer this question i'd appreciate it. I recently returned the Alesis Strike Pro kit because the Hi- Hats would register when I did an accent on the edge and followed up with 32nd notes on the bow. Whether it was triggering a built in sound from the module or sending the info out via usb midi I found that I was missing a lot of triggered hits from the Hi-Hat. I'm relieved to see that they increased the size of the Hi-Hats to 14 "which makes me hope they might trigger correctly now" and I'm also glad to see that they got rid of the bottom Hat cymbal so the foot pedal might be more accurate. Again my question is do you find yourself missing any triggered hits on the Hi-Hat Edge and Bow while mixing in some accented hits???

Jason I went on these forums as well. Alesis fixed the hihat triggering and durability issues with the SE version. So you could argue that, overall, Roland has better life expectancy. But if you pay close attention to this particuliar kit you’d realize it has really amazing features for its price and no reason to break « this year ». Even the previous Kit did much better than that, so I understand the people that say you are a bit biaised. I was told the Alesis guys are former Roland engineers who got bored of Roland’s aggressive and pedentic methods : you pay For the brand without Customer Service afterwards and you can fuck off for updates.

I used this video to assemble and then disassemble the kit to return it because it’s poor quality! The rack is kind of flimsy. The 14” Tom pad wouldn’t sit level on the rack, it kept slipping down no matter how tight I had it. I thought maybe the clamp was bad, so I tried several of the others and they all did the same thing. I thought I’d give it the benefit of the doubt so I connected the snare pad to the module to listen to some of the sounds and they were not that good. My Roland TD-25 sounds are way better. I’m extremely disappointed. I was really wanting this to be what many of the UA-cam reviewers said. Im just going to buy either the Roland TD-27KV or the VAD-503/506.

Shawn, hi, do you have this new SE version or the original? If you have the original, have you not had all the problems everyone seems to complain about?
      Thanks

I own 2 Strike modules. Use ATV pads and Roland Cymbals. No issues for the 2 years I've owned them both. I think the original issues with the module were worked out through updates. (Hihat mainly) I never had those issues. I also think the new pad design is much better. Not sure if they did anything with the cymbal design.

Shawn Lothamer, then you’re just the guy I need to talk to! About a year ago I bought what used to be Roland’s flagship TD-50 kit, the TD-50KV. Really never fell in love with the 50 module like previous flagship modules so I sold just the module and digital pads. Still have the kit minus the digital snare and ride. So I bought the Strike Pro and I can’t get it to work well with my Roland kit! Can you help me out? Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong!
      Thanks so much!

The digital ride and snare only work with the TD50. But the rest of the kit will work no problem.

Excellent but Rolands are better quality hands down and feel is better for me These here feel a little cheap as I played them Many sounds and whistles for the money though Honestly the pros aren’t really using these Rolands are the pros choice

How loud is the kit, without the amplification?

I really want this to be good... But Alesis has nearly completely ruined their name on my eyes. Very hard to trust them to make something that will last.

Yeah I bought the DM10 4 years ago and have had to replace many pieces thankfully most were under warranty. Looking for an upgrade now but I can't bring myself to spend the extra money on something I don't trust to last more than a few months without needing a replacement

@@puckstoppa14 I have the DM10x Mesh. I've repaired every mesh pad but one. Both replacing the piazzo elements, and repairing broken trigger plates. I've gotten pretty proficient at it. I will say that the cymbals have held up, and I added 3 additional ones to the kit.

@Justin Jehoshaphat I don't play hard, and I use extra light sticks... So, with all due respect, maybe don't talk about what you don't know... jezz...

@Justin Jehoshaphat Wow, "douchebag"? The simpleminded resort to cheap name calling. Only an idiot would equate how much money they spent on something to knowledge. You really think allot of yourself. How much did your ego cost?

@Justin Jehoshaphat I guess clever isn't your strong suit. I hope your playing is better then your snappy come backs. Why so hostile? "Little bitch"? Maybe you should have saved some of that money to buy better insults.

I was going to purchase a Strike Pro. The hi hats are jacked!. I stayed with Roland.

The hats are not jacked, you just need to download the latest driver for the module to fix it.

They have zero dynamic range. Even your ghost notes sound like full-blown rimshots.

It is plesure to play that kind of drums only in home,I"ve tried to play them a live.Sounds not real ,the vibration of the real drum is missing. As I say ,it is proper to have them only in home studio for doing practice with backing tracks and records. For me as a professional drummer it is a toy for rich persons

I always feel bad for people with this kit because you KNOW they were looking at Roland but don't know how to save money to get the industry standard that will last a lifetime so they can get a shifty budget drumset that will come broken out of the box lol
