Just picked up my 2024 Telluride SX X-Line yesterday and have put about 200 miles on it so far. It's Amazing absolutely no regrets. This vehicle is leaps and bounds better than any of the competition inside and out.
My wife and I just got an EX X-Line in Wolf Grey, and honestly, for the price, it is beyond what I even expected, and I had pretty high expectations going in. The Telluride is as advertised, and feels premium at a non-premium price point. Great review as always, Joe!
“In August, the companies recalled 281,000 Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride vehicles, citing fire risks related to an accessory tow hitch that may allow moisture into the harness module, causing a short circuit and potential fire, even if the vehicles are parked and turned off” Also, it had faulty airbags and weird transmission issues in the past. As long as all that is solved (lol), it looks pretty good. Reminds me of a Range Rover.
I have the 2024 XPro now in white with Terracotta interior and I love it. I had the wolf grey nightfall edition before getting this one I only upgraded for the gorgeous interior of the 24 model. My 24 model still has the orange daytime running lights and my trimming is black already from the manufacturer not silver 🙌🏾 so it still looks like a nightfall edition. I love Telluride's. Definitely get more bang for my bucks.
Having kept both (owned Pilot) and long term Telluride rental, id say the new Pilot is hard to beat! Its a class of its own in practicality especially with kids (cubbies, cup holders, door panels etc etc), the cup holders in my pilots drivers door and passenger door are the most used feature that no other vehicle offers,
Just bought one of these yesterday in Everlasting Silver and the wife is absolutely in love with it. Happy wife happy life, you get so much for the price and the quality of materials and creature comforts are amazing. Great review on an awesome mid size SUV. Nice one Joe.
I'm granddaughters love the third row seating. I love the space in my Kia Telluride. I'm giving my Telluride up for the XT6 Cadillac, which is not as spacious in the inside like the Kia Telluride
I would 100% go with Hyundai or Kia instead of Honda. I've owned two Hondas and had transmission issues with one and the other engine issues. I now own a 2021 Santa Fe and a 2017 Sonata and no issues at all.
I’m starting to second guess the Toyota Grand Highlander. If Kia’s top trim is $52k and Honda’s top trim is $52k, then I’m starting to think $60k for a top trim hybrid Toyota is not worth it. Especially with how expensive everything is getting. After all the markups that Toyota is well beyond 65k. Some places are even marking up by $20k, for a Toyota! Ooof. Anyways, GREAT REVIEW AS ALWAYS!
The fact that you can't get the top trim in an eight seater version is a huge knock against this car for my needs with three kids and the need to sometimes maximize cargo space by putting up the third row. Almost a fatal one. Honda having that removable middle seat is a major plus for some families.
I like sedans over SUVs but this looks great! way better inside than the Explorer, totally agree with Joe about the tailpipes, should be on both sides, just looks better
I was a life-long Ford guy who started paying attention to the Telluride/Palisade development a year before they were released. I’ve now owned one Palisade and I am currently on my third Telluride. This vehicle delivers in every category. Especially great for tall drivers who need extra headroom.
I have a 2022 Telluride SXP in Black Copper, a great color that's no longer offered. In terms of exterior appearance, I have to say that the 2022 is probably peak Telluride. It was the first year with the new Kia badge (much better than the old one); it has better wheels and a better grille than preceding years; and it doesn't have the odd, fish-mouth lower grille featured on the 2023-2024. However, the interior tech upgrades are nice. The larger screens, etc., look great. But I wouldn’t even think of moving out of the 2022 until an all-new model appeared with a new engine.
Got a 22 ebony black ex in canada (base model) I was sceptical about kia but now that we bought one were already looking at kia for our second car once we have our telluride paid off.
The "flat black" around the fender opening is there for when you go off road. It has over 8 inches of ground clearance so that should tell you that this vehicle is meant for that. A color matched fender opening would just get ruined if you go off road. Everything doesn't have to be color matched even if it is a higher trim. In this case, that flat black is serving a purpose.
I have a 2021 Kia Telluride AWD SX Prestige with the towing package, and I really like it. I do a lot of highway driving, and I often get between 25 - 26 mpg. If I do a lot of city driving I get 21 - 23 mpg.
I know it's not important, but has anyone noticed as the blinkers flash the light bar of the blinker moves from bottom to top! Fantastic little light tech Kia came up with! 💡✨️
Joe, I agree with you that usually, the flat black looks best on the grill, but there are some vehicles with certain styling that look good with gloss black on the grill.
I bought the first Telluride when it came out in 2019. Drove it for 4 years and sold it earlier this year to CarMax and they paid off my loan and I still got a 8k check back. Resale value is fine on the Tellurides :)
We had 2 Pilots in a row over a 15 year period and I will tell you the last one (2015) had so many issues and the resale was just okay. My limited research shows the Telly at 47% residual after 5 years which is close to the top of the pack. So, I put my money where my mouth is and just picked up a 2024 SX SX-Pro. Time will tell if it is any good.
There is no doubt that on the surface the Telluride is a good alternative to the Honda Pilot. However when you go under the hood you find an old school 3.8 liter v6 with no hydraulic valve lifters. This engine has an inordinate amount of plastic parts, even the oil filter holder is made out of plastic. Put the Telluride on a lift and you can see sloppy welds on the exhaust system. There is a limited amount of sound insulation in the middle of the vehicle. Long term reliability of the engine has not been determined yet but the 3.5 v6 liter Honda engine remains bulletproof. Honda vehicles have a proven track record for reliability so my vote is for the Pilot.
I see these and many other Kia's on the road. Shows how far they come plus they have one of the best warranties. I may out there saying this. But if Kia beefed up the alternator and suspension they could off a police model of this and probably making some money and be successful. Especially with AWD.
I think for the price it should have a full panoramic sunroof. Other than that it looks really good. Very modern nice looking design almost luxurious feeling honestly.
A Grand Highlander has more passenger and cargo space and can be had with a hybrid powertrain that gets almost double the city MPG or a hybrid max powertrain that makes far more horsepower while still getting better mileage.
I actually tried to go to Kia in Tampa to get one of these cars but I had to walk out on them because they were trying to sell me the car for over $15,000 MSRP it’s ridiculous now
I've been shopping for one for a year looking for a white on white/grey with a bench as I'm in the video biz and have lots of gear to haul and captains chairs leave a hole in the floor when flat. Also the 20" wheel make off-roading problematic, why do people think 20" wheels are a good thing? Compared to 18" wheels they provide a worse ride, worse breaking and acceleration and lead to more flat tires. Lets talk seats- Why is it so hard to find a non black interior? Here in Texas Black int is really hot for 4-5 months a year with the outside temp over 100! Cloth would be better than the vinyl or leather offered on all but the lowest trims. Kia learn more about your customers and make cars we want.
Just got our 2024 Telluride SX xline 2 weeks ago. Apparently they have not fixed their windshield issue. I had a 2mm chip that turned into a large crack. Not very robust.

Hi Joe, Couple of questions: Does this run on regular unleaded? Is Kia giving it new 'sheet metal' (styling overhaul) for 2025? Perceptions: Manual telescope and tilt steering wheel at that price is criminal. Digital rear-view mirror only shows the outside so if the kids have found the secret stash of Twinkies and have opened them and declared a fight, or one pulls the others' hair, you'll never catch it. The front digital display would've been more front passenger friendly without the added curve, for those times when you can't take your eyes of the road to fiddle with options and screens. Matte black parts could've been better as high gloss but overall, the exterior is very eye-catching. 👍👍
It depends on the application regarding flat or gloss black but one thing I don't like about flat black is if you accidentally get car wax on it, it is hard to get off.
The car looks nice but honestly Kia and Hyundai need to provide a better engine. The current V6 lacks huge when comparing Toyota/Acura/Honda. The quality is nice but the engine needs to be updated.
Know you always zonk a rear wiper when it's not hidden under the rear spoiler. I agree, but is Lexus the only vehicle that does that? I also don't understand why they didn't put one of the exhausts on the left side. Hyundai does the same thing on the Palisade.
@@RaitisRides These are not underpowered by any stretch for a naturally asperated V6 ...Which is better than a turbo 4 . That is also a conservative # I'd guess another 15 h.p. or 5% easy

IMHO Great review as always 🙏🙏
You ain't touching one of these for $52K knowing how highly Kia dealers suddenly think of themselves over the last three years. In fact, I think I spotted an addendum sticker next to the Monroney on this very one he's reviewing.
Vehicle looks nice but doesn’t look anything like a Range Rover, instrument cluster looks great. Needs to have exhaust tips on both sides. Also the engine looks like it’s sinking down in the engine bay when u popped the hood, normally engines sit up a bit higher, maybe it’s just me😂… either way another informative video 👍🏽
Of all the competitors in the mid sized SUV category, Kia still reigns as King!; specifically with the Telluride. I love the SX Prestige Trim Level, and I seriously thought that you were going to quote 60-65,000 instead of 52. Another GREAT review, Joe. High Kudos to you and the cameraman.🤴🏻🇺🇸🇮🇹🚙🥁🥁🥁🥁🎺🎤🎺🎄🎤🌍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👊🏾
Just cant beat the value. And it looks great, at a lower price than most of the competition in its class. Does anyone think this is a better buy than the grand highlander?
I feel sorry 4 KN because their family Hyunday is importing 2024 Sanra Fe 7 pass SUV. It's big talk in S.Korea right now. Oh yeah I don't get why people still pronounce Hondie? I just don't get it 🤔
The Telluride is still the KING of this segment. Incredible interior with intuitive controls. And it looks better than the Pilot, Pathfinder, Highlander, and Traverse.
Drove one for a week rental. Fully loaded. Fantastic vehicle. Not sure if I’d pay over $50,000 for it though… But I guess $50,000 is the entry level price for a 3 row seat suv now a days…
Interested to see your take on the mid refresh sorrento. It looks like it is going to offer a lot more than the telluride refresh (ie finger print scanner).
So would you recommend the Telluride or the CX-90? I see a lot of Tellurides in the area and like them, I'm just going back and forth on which one to get.
This may not be as important as other features, but Hyundai/Kia HDA2 is very very good. Also this model should have the remote parking feature (a bit of a gimmick, but can be useful when people park very close to your car/vice versa 😅)…
Obviously you prefer the Telluride considering all the praises with very little comparison to the Pilot. Hard to really evaluate whether the 2024 Telluride is better or worse than a Honda Pilot when the only thing you mention about a Pilot is that you believe the Pilot's engine is "buzzier." (Yet in the Pilot review you said the 10 speed Honda transmission shifted smoother than the Telluride's 8 speed transmission.) You should reference your review of the 2024 Honda Pilot Touring model in your video notes. It's worth noting that you did not review the Pilot Elite which is their equivalent top trim level, and where you also made multiple comparisons to the Kia (some favoring the Pilot). I traded in my 2023 Telluride EX for a 2024 Honda Pilot Elite. Personally, I like the Honda better. The smaller nav screen isn't really that big of a deal for me. The driver interface for functions and displays on the Honda IMO beats the heck out of Kia. Kia's menus and defaults are not very intuitive. I like the Honda keyless entry better than Kia's proximity thing which extends the retracted rear view mirrors if you just happen to walk past the vehicle - even after you've locked them. The Honda's touchless tailgate is far better than Kia. If you just happen to stand behind the Kia for any appreciable time, the tailgate will open automatically (assuming you've activated that feature). Honda's passing your foot under the bumper is more intentional. Fit and finish are equivalent. Mileage was slightly better in my Kia, but I didn't have the AWD version. No gas assisted hood struts on the Pilot, but the manual strut on the Pilot has 3 positions - normal, maintenance, and almost vertical. Both the Kia SX Prestige and the Honda Elite require the towing package option to be able to tow anything - it's not standard. Honda Elite has far more storage options in the doors and the rear cargo storage has more storage than the Kia's. The Kia's key fob is massive, which can be an uncomfortable distraction if you're carrying it in your pocket. The digital rear view mirror doesn't work very well when it's raining or wet. No, you can't fit a sheet of plywood in the cargo area of the Telluride (or Honda). A standard sheet of plywood is 4'x8'. The usable width of the cargo space in the Telluride is 44" and the length is 62" max (depends on the front seat settings). Far less than a standard sheet of plywood.
I’m on my 2nd Telluride, and I personally think that the ride and sound quietness has been slightly refined from 21 to 23. Great riding vehicle, no issues

Big Zonk for the engine and power output. My 2014 cadenza had 291hp and was a 3.3l I think.
At least its not the horrendous Theta 2 (2.0L/2.4L) or Smartstream (2.5L/2.0L) engine.
How much power would you like it to have?
@@RaitisRides These are not underpowered by any stretch for a naturally asperated V6 ...Which is better than a turbo 4 . That is also a conservative # I'd guess another 15 h.p. or 5% easy
Joe great review as always, but… i think you should start giving your opinion on which one YOU think is better once you rap up the video.
Thanks for the feedback!
This blows the Honda out of the water by a large margin in my opinion.
You may be right!
Congrats on 1M subs Joe! 🎉
Thank you for taking the time to say that!
This one actually seems pretty worth buying actually.
I am glad that you are digging this one.

@@RaitisRides Thanks You
It can no longer be compared to the regular Highlander who’s exterior is now completely outdated. PS I own an older one so that’s saying something.
Can you compare to pathfinder??
We need more comparison
I like my pathfinder style and interior
Let see which is better after 50 k miles
Just bought a 2024 Saturday!!
That is so wonderful kevin! What color did you get?
@@RaitisRides white!!
Which model? How much?
I am looking forward to seeing the 2024 sorento! Hope you are doing well in the hurricane!
Thanks for saying that! We are totally safe and sound.
Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the great job and I love the video 👍
We appreciate you brother!
Does it have a heads up display, how about a spare tire?
Still driving my 2020 Telluride S AWD. It has been amazing! I thought about trading it for a.2024, but I like my 2020 too much.
Im still trying to decide whether to get the new pilot or the telluride.
Na na na same for me cannot tolerate it,I’m surprised that so many cars & trucks have it now and it doesn’t bother neither the maker or buyer..other than that solid truck have been a fan since 1st gen..lately for me Toyota/ Lexus killing it and man pilot is straight fugly no matter how much mileage/ reliable it is.
IMHO
Great review as always 🙏🙏
You ain't touching one of these for $52K knowing how highly Kia dealers suddenly think of themselves over the last three years. In fact, I think I spotted an addendum sticker next to the Monroney on this very one he's reviewing.
For real....this is 60k+ OTD minimum.
I bought one for $52k 3 weeks ago (2024 SX Prestige).
Things are getting crazy out there!
@@EverythingEvoYou mind sharing where to help others get a great deal?
Why do you want the exhaust on the driver's side? If I have one exhaust I'd want it across from me if I'm idling with the windows down.
It is at the back of the car.
Alright Joe I love what KIA is doing lately
I am so glad to hear that!
First. Can you do a review on a super duty lariat ultimate tremor and possibly some more heavy duty trucks?
I will get that together for you!
@@RaitisRides thanks Joe
I am sure there are some people out there Jay that feel that way!
Nice video keep up the good work my brother
You got it Marcus!
Joe please tell me you’ll be at the us premiere of the new sonata and Elantra !?!?!?!
I will be virtually
Looking to get one next year. Was wondering if any Telluride owners have any issues with theirs? Or what to look out for if I do buy one.
Has electrical problems cause of of all the bells and whistles. The engine is suspect. Time will tell. I would pick a Japanese next time.
This car offers great value for the money
I feel sorry 4 KN because their family Hyunday is importing 2024 Sanra Fe 7 pass SUV. It's big talk in S.Korea right now. Oh yeah I don't get why people still pronounce Hondie? I just don't get it 🤔
The Telluride is still the KING of this segment. Incredible interior with intuitive controls.
And it looks better than the Pilot, Pathfinder, Highlander, and Traverse.
I would like to see dual exhaust
You have great taste!
Do you ever do lower trim models for cars? Seems I me you always show the higher models. That some of your viewers can’t afford.
Drove one for a week rental. Fully loaded. Fantastic vehicle. Not sure if I’d pay over $50,000 for it though…
But I guess $50,000 is the entry level price for a 3 row seat suv now a days…
Just got me the S model for 42k with AWD.
@@31FREEZY sounds about right 👍
Interested to see your take on the mid refresh sorrento. It looks like it is going to offer a lot more than the telluride refresh (ie finger print scanner).
I will have it for you soon!
I'll stay clear away from any automobile that has fingerprint scanners.
So would you recommend the Telluride or the CX-90? I see a lot of Tellurides in the area and like them, I'm just going back and forth on which one to get.
I am going CX-90!
@@RaitisRides whats the biggest reason for CX90 over Telluride?
Can I get it in two row seating?
This may not be as important as other features, but Hyundai/Kia HDA2 is very very good. Also this model should have the remote parking feature (a bit of a gimmick, but can be useful when people park very close to your car/vice versa 😅)…
Yay Raiti’s Rides ❤’d my comment! I’m special 😂
You are super special! I appreciate your support!
I’d love to see a 2024 Santa Fe review…it looks like a defender now!
I will track one down for you!
"Zonk" refers to the large, protruding, silver-colored bottom of the front grill of a vehicle.
