The Hybrid MAX is not the same as a traditional Hybrid system. A traditional Hybrid is offered on the XLE and Limited models though. I got the Hybrid Limited and I’ve averaged nearly 31 mpg for my first 11k miles and have seen as high as 42 for a single trip. The hybrid MAX drivetrain had an electric motor between the engine and transmission to add power. This is more for acceleration than fuel economy. It is similar to or same as the hybrid systems on the Tundra, Tacoma, and Crown.
Hybrid and 4 cylinder turbo. Yes, it gives you 26 mpg, but it will also give you a headache in the long run. Plus, out the door 65K! Does not add up. You are paying the premium upfront by having a hybrid instead of paying on gas money in the long run and taking risks.
