I have the 2023 version. Great vehicle. Anyone who gets in it is shocked its a Kia. Had the oil changed twice at the dealer and very positive experience. Love the vehicle. Has all the toys and rides like a dream. Heated and cooled rear seats. Try finding that in another luxury vehicle at this price!
A buddy of mine has the sister car; Palisafe calligraphy. I love it. Incredibly comfortable, and quality almost snaps at the heels of the Germans, almost.
Joe, Another great review sir. I bought this exact 24 SX Prestige X-Line in Wolf Grey on the black Nappa leather from Kia of Muncie back in late August for MSRP ($54,270 with the carpet mats included) and a $199 doc fee). I live near St. Augustine but cannot buy any Kia or Hyundai in Florida. I have bought 10 new SUVs since Feb. of 2022 (4 Palisade Calligraphy, 2 Santa Fe Calligraphy, 2 Subaru Ascent Touring, and 2 top trim Tellurides). The Kia dealer you borrowed this from for the video is very tough to buy from without the typical FL bait and switch nonsense. I cannot wait until the FTC guidelines go into effect on 7-30-23 where all pricing has to be transparent and, on the vehicle, / website with only sales tax and DMV fees added. No more additional fees for dealer accessories or crazy doc fees, 3rd party tag agency fees, or electronic filing fees that we don't know about until after we go to the dealership. That will destroy these shady Kia and Hyundai dealers. It's sad that I had to drive 940 miles to Indiana to buy my Telluride 4 months ago but no way in hell that I was paying FL Kia dealer prices. As for the EV9 GT Line, I love it but cannot justify $78,000 over $54,500 for a faster engine and zero gravity seats and a fingerprint reader with a slightly better 3rd row that's lower to the ground for better knee room. I love the EV9 but to lease it for 3 years and 36k miles, you are still looking at over $900 a month with $5k or $6k cash down even with the $7,500 IRA tax loophole. The resale value of any EV will be dog poop thanks to the technology changing rapidly and Elon Musk lowering his new EV prices to maintain his dominant market share at Tesla. In my Opinion, the EV9 GT Line is a game only for the wealthy who don't care about poor residual values or spending a grand a month to rent this thing with five grand down. Basically, the person leasing this thing for 36k miles is paying about $1.10 per mile to drive it before any charging costs. Not for the middle class. Make it $60k Kia and let's talk for the EV9 GT Line. Another great review Joe!
@@jwheels9876 sorry Jeff. It's 7/30/24, when the national FTC rules go into effect. Fatt fingers on my cell phone. Let me clarify one point. After this date next July, a car dealer can still charge any number it wants for a new or used vehicle, however, the pricing must be transparent and include all fees like doc fees, tag agency fees, electronic Filing Fees, mandatory dealer installed accessories etc. The only thing not included in the vehicle advertised price is sales tax and DMV fees that are all predicted on the ZIP code where the vehicle is to be registered. I did not really clarify that in my original post. Hence, transparency is key with no games once you go to the dealership. I never even go to the dealership until the deal is done on paper with a SM or GSM so I go for 90 minutes at the most to take delivery. Sorry for the date typo before.
Folks I spend every day in these, they are incredible, if you’re in the market, do not sleep on the Telluride. You’re getting the best warranty on the market, incredible tech and safety features and in my opinion one of the best looking SUV’s on the market. Oh and did I mention that it rides and drives like an absolute dream? I never had someone come to look at a telluride, test drive it, and not buy it, it’s that good. The interiors are incredible, the features for the money is incredible, and people love them, don’t let your 2010’s idea of Kia ruin your thoughts of what Kia is in 2024. They have come a long way and are punching way above their weight. Go drive one, check out the Napa leather and the suede headliner, the heated and cooled front and rear seats, the captains chair 2nd row, the dual moonroofs, it’s a really awesome car and I stand behind it completely.
After the GT stinger Kia has came a long way since then and has gotten the recognition and respect they deserve which I love considering I daily drive a GT2 Scorpion.
been watching a lot of these kia videos in the last couple days and you're my favorite dude. thanks for being the right amount of excited and not making me puke with a shaky camera!
I owned a '12 Sorento SX for a little over 12 years, and finally traded it for a Telluride in late January. Exact same model and trim as in this video, except in moss green. 3 months in, and I LOVE this SUV! It's amazing how far auto tech has come in 12 years! This model/trim has SO many safety and convenience features, that I'll learning how to access and use them all in an ongoing process. Parking and backing out is like flying IFR - you don't even need to look out the windows or windshield - just down at the touch screen and 360 degree/3D camera display. And parallel parking into a single spot has never been easier! In 40+ years of being a driver, I can't remember being this satisfied with a vehicle purchase.
Nice review. My '95 Grand Jeep Cherokee is on its last legs so, had to find a replacement. Just bought the Prestige X-Line, arctic white with terra cotta interior...gorgeous with a rugged/sporty kind of look with luxury features. Couldn't be happier.
I have a Wolf Gray, X Prestige with Terracotta interior, and it's a dream. I had a Hyundai Palisades before this, and it blows it away in terms of style, and sport. When the EV9 came out I was drooling, but as I compare the two exteriors, I definitely prefer the more classic muscle look of the Telluride. I am still turning heads in this car and frankly, it fits my family's needs perfectly - I have a newborn, and 3 teenagers and my wife is happy. No complaints.
The terracotta interior is probably my favorite feature... Really makes it look more luxurious and unique, and always brightens my mood when I enter it after having mostly black interiors over the years.
Buying a 2024 EX-Xline this week. Midnight Lake Blue with Terracotta interior. Beautiful and bold with good old gas 6 cylinder. Has a rugged look that EV will never have. Can’t wait.
I've owned 9 KIAs, including 6 Tellurides. Yes, that's a lot. I know, but every time some puts a ding or a scratch on it, I get a new one in a new color. That and my wife keeps taking them from me, so I have to get a new one. She now has the 2024 SX Prestige X-Pro, and I have the 2023 SX Prestige X-Line. She needs the bigger wheels because she loves to hit the curb while eating her Twinkees. ;-) I like the 2024 gloss black upgrades to the front end, but I am happier with the big rims on my X-line. I have been pressing for the EV9 since it was first announced. Love the pickup for the GT line and the matte blue paint, but have to zonk that the in-bumper lighting doesn't come on either of the Matte paint finishes. I also can't justify the additional $23K for the EV, and don't forget the $2,500 to install an electric charging unit to the front of my house.
I really like it! The screen almost looks like the Cadillac or mercedes. Overall I really like it! But to be honest I would go with an EV9! It is Luxury!
Just got mine and love it I had the 23 Stringer gt2 and a lady hit me and totalled it! And got the telluride. But you did talk about the jack in the side and the tire in the trunk too? The video was great!
Scooped up a 2024 Midnight Lake Blue… it’s the EX Xline and I love it! Will it blow your pants off in speed no…. Does it come with style and people in shock that it’s a KIA… Absolutely !!
I own the 2021 SX FWD Telluride and let me tell you it’s perfect for my family and fits in my garage easily. I was lucky to get the SUV for 42k when I did now the mark ups are crazy. Your right about the dual exhaust it looks way better a few simple modifications to the engine and now our mpg 23 city and 29 Hwy (70mph).

Telluride. 2 reasons after visiting that very same Lokey dealership and test driving both: 1) ~400+ miles per tank range vs. in the words of the salesperson "realistically, maybe ~200 miles per charge" on the EV9 2) Price: we were looking at a mid tier trim (Wind or Land?) which had a "market adjustment fee" bringing it up to close to $77k. Ridiculous. The EV is 25-30k more expensive than a comparable Telluride, but the latter has way more range, Features more or less on par, and the driving experience (noise level, cabin comfort, gizmos, sound system, assistants etc.) was basically the same. Can't justify spending 25k more just for "going electric" - sorry 🙂That's at minimum 15+ years driving electric before I'll be in the black on "gas savings" alone based on my normal mileage and driving habits. One interesting note though, we also went to the neighboring Lokey VW to check out the Atlas and I was surprised (appalled) how bad/cheap the interior quality felt like in direct comparison to the Telluride. Probably why they have a great 0% APR financing deal atm to reel people in lol.
The 3rd row does not get the "Nappa" leather? I just ordered a SX X-Line (Non Prestige) with Dawning Red exterior / black interior. We sold our 2020 SX about a week ago and love the comfort and features of the Telluride.
Have a 2020 SX and it has had the rear suspension replaced 4 times and it still makes clunking noises. I think the towing package and leveling rear suspension has had major issues. Anybody else with the towing package have major suspension issues?
Is there a glare in the digital mirror at night time? I installed an off-market Wolfbox digital mirror in an Avalon; works great during day time, but has a glare at night time when vehicles are close to you. Also, it gives a major problem during rain and snow season.
To get the same features you’re going to be looking at 80-90k from a luxury manufacturer. And even then they’re going to be missing some of the features. Don’t sleep on the Telluride, go see it in person, I guarantee you will be impressed. I also guarantee you will spend less time in the shop and having things break and will have a more pleasant experience than you would with a luxury brand. 10yr100k 5yr60k warranty. I’ve never had anyone be disappointed in their Telluride. Idk if you can tell but I sold them, but I truly believe in the product and confidently stand behind it. If you must, I like the Genesis GV80 and the all new GV80 coupe if you’re a baller, mainly because it’s a distant relative to Kia/Hyundai and has the tech. Next I’d probably look at something like the Lexus GX 550, it’s incredible and it’s a Lexus so it’s going to be a tank. Good luck.
Comments I see about the comparison between the Telluride and EV9 are wild. I hear opinions saying that the EV9 is better because of speed and the quality of the drive is better. I disagree. First things first. The EV9 and the Telluride are meant to be SUVs. Not some EV6 or a EV Hatch back. I drove the 2023 Telluride on an Offroad track and that thing was insane in its capabilities as an offroader. It had true AWD and active torque vectoring which made it able to tackle 3 wheel off-traction (3 wheel slip) scenarios which is impressive compared to the likes of Jeep. The EV9 on the other hand just has two electric motors but not a true functioning mechanical AWD system. It may be fast but shit on snow or offroad conditions. Also the clearance of the EV9 is too low for any offroad use while the Telluride has a clearance height similar to the Honda Passport Trailsport. Both have nice interiors and ride quality is equal in terms of road noise and suspension being quite and soft. I don't even know why they do this trend of calling everything a crossover. Especially shitty EVs like the Ioniq 5 and EV9. Don't even lump them up together as they're not even in the same class of capability.
My 2024 Telluride fully loaded is by far the worst vehicle I have ever had. After 800 miles the transmission went out, Idiots insisted that it was fine that the battery was just low. Gave it back to us and within a day the car ran like a golf cart, no acceleration, loud noises, and hard shifting. We took it back Dec 26th and after a month of back and forth they finally agreed it needed a new transmission. They replaced the transmission and gave it back to us at the beginning of February. We drove it for 4 hours and the Engine light came on and said "A possible condition with your Engine Control System has been detected. Please contact your local dealership..." On the way back on a left turn 3 of us in the car all heard a bang when turning left. The dealership still has my car in the shop and are unable to fix it. All I keep hearing is "that's unheard of" and I believe it but their Techline is useless and the mechanics have not had to deal with problems like this, so my point is that once these things start having problems, good luck getting it fixed because they have zero experience fixing them. Much much more to our story but not enough room to tell it here.
A little more history. They claim to have fixed it 4 or 5 times now. They replaced the Transmission Module first, then the Transmission, then the Transmission Module again, Then the Transmission Module with a known good module, several of the wiring pins were said to have been short and fixed plus a whole lot of other B.S. has happened. The latest update today is that one of the wiring harness ends with pins that connects to and electric pump on the transmission side had a loose power pin and was filled with anti-freeze! it had corroded to the point that it could not keep a stable connection. They claim it is a single point of failure (impossible to find because the errors are not helpful) in the Telluride. It goes to all of the connectors on the transmission side and back to the TCM. If I remember correctly the tech said something like the connector on the pump goes to what they call "can" or "cam" communication and if that component shorts out it's really fragile when it comes to anything electrical it takes out everything that is pcan (the power train) and it control's your engine, transmission, and several other things. They have no explanation how Anti-Freeze got in there and claim it must have come from the manufacturer that way. I still don't have my car and am waiting for them to call and tell me something else is wrong. By law I can demand a buy back or replacement. There is no way in hell I'm waiting another 22 months for a replacement.
@@RaitisRides Thanks for reading, after 75 days in the shop and counting I just needed somewhere to vent a little frustration. I opened a case with BBB Auto Line today. Hope to get my money back.
Wanted a Telluride mid 2022. They were hard to get and marked up. Got a Traverse instead. Now Telluride’s are easier to come by but more expensive. Kia dealers in my area are sketchy. Can’t see buying anything from them.
The ev9 is 23k more but it has 0% for 72 available which is worth 8 or 9k. No sales tax on ev's another 4k. Plus whatever state incentives which in my state is 2k. That's already 15k back. Last but not least ia energy savings. Your gonna be spending 150 -225 fueling your telluride. An electric car is 50-70 bucks a month. You can easily save $1500 -2k a year which than more than pays for itself
Absolutely not. One is an old school combustion technology where you have to wait for revs to build. The other is a forward-thinking, "re-fuel" at home, future bi-directional power, and lower NVH beast.
Joe, Lov'in me some black licorice! Not lov'in the Telluride, but then again it's not my style. I think I would go with the gas engine vs. electric based on price. I think the breakeven point would be a decade or more to make up for that $20K difference. Great review as usual! Thanks again.
I just still can’t wrap my head around paying money for an SUV with an anemic 3rd row. I know everyone says it’s for smaller kids for short runs, but that’s a huge waste of additional cargo space for a once-in-a-while situation. And for those of you ready to say it, keeping the 3rd row down is not the same thing. I know no one will ever do it as it means extra tooling for the auto manufacturers, but I would totally take an SUV of this size with an option for a 3rd row delete and lower cargo floor for more cargo space. But I’m clearly in the minority since these tiny 3 row vehicles are so popular.
Aint gonna lie the Telluride LOOKS great! The problem is that for the price of a Telluride, I could buy a Toyota... Or a Honda... Two automotive industries with PROVEN track records! Kia started out with competative prices on their vehicles, and now their vehicles are thousands over-priced. For the price of just about any Kia, I could buy a Totota or Honda. I really fail to see their marketing strategy.
Definitely let me know in the comments if you are going ICE with the Telluride or full EV with the EV9!
ICE / Telluride.
Not taking any electric trash can ICE the only way to go
ev9
I would never by an EV

I have a 24 SX Prestige X Pro, it’s ok, the features are nice on it but the Harmon/ Kardan system is a huge disappointment.
Thanks for sharing that ownership experience!
I like the style and its a fair price.
Especially in Today's market.
Does it have a spare tire?
Yes
What about the 2024 sorento??
Stay tuned!
The Telluride is getting ready for a Complete Body Change Next Year 😉
We will see what happens
Oh Really?!?
Probably won't change till 2026 model as they just refreshed in 2023
@l2aider1 Nope i work at the Kia Plant in West GA we're already discussing it, we will start building the American version of the Ev9 in May.
Interesting. It’s such a top seller now, hopefully they don’t mess with a good thing!
Still a head turner. Super color on this one too.
I hear the security system isn't very good in KIA cars/trucks, so some insurance companies won't cover them. Is this true?
Dealers in ontario are charging a 2k fee for when or of stolen you get 5k back. Interesting scam imo
The ev9 will require a lot less maintenance cost and fueling/energy costs. Plus the $77k model you reviewed is not the lowest trim
Until its time to replace the battery...lol!
@@MrYodi2007 when does a Tesla need a battery replaced?
@DannerBanks ummm when they go bad. Yes it does had a coworker who had one that needed a battery replacement.
@@MrYodi2007 cool let's chat some more when you actually know how long it takes on the average. Thanks for playing
You are correct and this Telluride is not a low trim either so it is a good apples to apples comparison.
You mentioned Aladdin’s Castle! I used to work there years ago. Definitely feel old now. Thanks!😂
Telluride. 2 reasons after visiting that very same Lokey dealership and test driving both:
1) ~400+ miles per tank range vs. in the words of the salesperson "realistically, maybe ~200 miles per charge" on the EV9
2) Price: we were looking at a mid tier trim (Wind or Land?) which had a "market adjustment fee" bringing it up to close to $77k.
I’ve got the 23 Sorento SX Prestige sapphire blue I wish it had heads-up display
That is a very good point!
The 3rd row does not get the "Nappa" leather? I just ordered a SX X-Line (Non Prestige) with Dawning Red exterior / black interior. We sold our 2020 SX about a week ago and love the comfort and features of the Telluride.
Navigation details in HUD??
Nav included
14:29 OMG Aladdin’s Castle. I miss those days
The color with the black wheels...yeah, great combo.
You have great taste
EV9 on order… been an all EV family since 2013. 500,000+km driven. 😎
Great video, very informative as well!👍🏽
Have a 2020 SX and it has had the rear suspension replaced 4 times and it still makes clunking noises. I think the towing package and leveling rear suspension has had major issues. Anybody else with the towing package have major suspension issues?
When are you going to do a 2024 Kia Sorento review?
When will 2025 telluride come out? And do you think it will come with major upgrades?
Seat should been grey same color as the outside! But love lovely how it is
Love clearwater
Kia keep making this better n better
I LOVE my Telluride and I LOVE Black licorice! :)
Looking forward to leasing the Kia EV9
I’m so glad to hear that!
Cómo se siente la suspensión y la condusion
Joe is the rear lower compartment covered by a hinged lid? My 2022 telluride can have the lid totally removed and i love having the extra space
Yes it is
Just picked up a 2025 with this trim and paint 😅
I just traded in my Stinger GTS for this. It's awesome!
Is there a glare in the digital mirror at night time? I installed an off-market Wolfbox digital mirror in an Avalon; works great during day time, but has a glare at night time when vehicles are close to you. Also, it gives a major problem during rain and snow season.
Probably late, but yes. Any digital mirror that doubles as a regular mirror will have one. Mirrors reflect light, period.
great review. Big fan of the black licorice, especially the Aussie brand that comes in big chunks.
Super clean 🎉
Really is
Don't need a 3 row SUV, but definitely choose ICE for sure as I love a v6.
Good call!
Any suggestions for a luxury brand version of the telluride? For my Mom. She loves the Infiniti qx60 but the seat won’t go high enough..
Good luck.
@@ChrisDavis333 thanks for your time bro
Are you truly that hung up on capabilities? Both these vehicles, 90+% of the buyers go to work/school and never take it off road…
Still have several state maps nicely folded up in the glovebox of my 92' Dodge ram
I am so sorry to hear about all of the issues that you have had Craig!
@@RaitisRides Thanks for reading, after 75 days in the shop and counting I just needed somewhere to vent a little frustration. I opened a case with BBB Auto Line today. Hope to get my money back.
Lemon Law perhaps
Hi do you know how to turn off the alert off from the speed cameras when it pops up on the dashboard? We don't have cameras anymore in ohio. Thanks
That is a very good question.
Wanted a Telluride mid 2022. They were hard to get and marked up. Got a Traverse instead. Now Telluride’s are easier to come by but more expensive. Kia dealers in my area are sketchy. Can’t see buying anything from them.
Ugh zonk rear wiper needs to hidden under the rear spoiler...
Tell me about it
Yes ! Wolf grey around wheel openings 👍
Thanks Tom for your vote
Wil you throw in a bag of black licorice if I buy the Telluride?
The third row reclines and helps the space in the 3rd row to be even more useable. But the trunk sufferers even more. becomes passenger vs items
This car is nice
The ev9 is 23k more but it has 0% for 72 available which is worth 8 or 9k. No sales tax on ev's another 4k. Plus whatever state incentives which in my state is 2k. That's already 15k back. Last but not least ia energy savings. Your gonna be spending 150 -225 fueling your telluride. An electric car is 50-70 bucks a month. You can easily save $1500 -2k a year which than more than pays for itself
Fantastic ! 🌟
I appreciate you saying that!
Absolutely not. One is an old school combustion technology where you have to wait for revs to build. The other is a forward-thinking, "re-fuel" at home, future bi-directional power, and lower NVH beast.
Nothing old school about an ICE vehicle only way to go
Thanks for being support for the EV9
My wife said she wanted a new car, she likes this one I looked at her and said "I can Telluride"
LOL I like what she did there!
Joe, Lov'in me some black licorice! Not lov'in the Telluride, but then again it's not my style. I think I would go with the gas engine vs. electric based on price. I think the breakeven point would be a decade or more to make up for that $20K difference. Great review as usual! Thanks again.
You are so very right! Thanks for letting me sharing it with you!
I agree I like a decent sized SUV but never use a third row. The Mazda CX-70 is a big 2 row SUV but maybe too big!
Bench seat is mandatory for that second row.
You can get one in different trims.
I like this one 👍
Very cool
