The problem is that they could get custody, what kind of mother do you think she is? Have you ever had to give your child to someone you don’t trust? It’s horrible, especially if they beg not to be left. Narcissists often get pregnant immediately after marriage, or to force a marriage. They then hold the children over the other parents head. He probably stayed to keep things somewhat normal for the kids, to protect them.

Being single is so easy and peaceful. My husband was my best friend, 30yrs together. I forgot how it felt to have silence. The first few months the TV was never on, no music, little web. I miss him and my mom. I lost 6 people close to me. Each one came with such heartache. My husband's was the hardest and still is. Maybe it's because I chose to live my life with him. I couldn't see life without him. Now it's forced upon me. This woman never loved anyone but herself. Yes, life is easier because the only person I have to take care of is myself but I sure miss laughing with my best friend. Be careful if you choose to date.

He seemed like a nice guy at first but then red flags started popping up (has a large firearm collection and seems to be obsessed with Nazi Germany). I felt bad for any female who met him on a dating site and that is exactly what happened. His life started to spiral out of control when he lost his job and his father passed away. When his girlfriend broke up with him he just snapped and went after her - murdered her then shot himself in the head.

maybe - just maybe - Eric DIDN'T keep taking food and drinks from Kouri. (nobody ever witnessed her actually make the lethal cocktail and give it to him, did they?)
maybe, after the incident with the sandwich that made him violently ill, Eric decided to never again eat or drink anything Kouri handled/prepared outside of his presence.
maybe Eric had gotten into the habit of doing that so consistently and for so long that Kouri began (and had a long time) to teach herself how to close/reseal open drink bottles so that, apart from advanced forensic inspection, it was impossible to tell they had already been opened.
maybe Eric made the lethal cocktail himself and brought it to bed with him, taking (what he thought was sufficient) care to examine the bottle of each ingredient he used in order to ensure that Kouri had not tampered with it, all the while being completely unaware that she had already contaminated one or more of them with fentanyl...and he died, not due to being dumb enough to consume a drink his wife had made for him but, rather, as a result of not knowing how skilled she had ultimately become at disguising an opened drink bottle to appear as though it had never been opened at all.

A friend stayed in her marriage even after she thought her husband was slowly poisoning her food (he cooked at weekends for her but she always got stomach upsets and the related results and she worked away mon-fri). She also thought he was having multiple affairs (little clues no biggie). She didn’t leave immediately because her standard of life would have been awful without him, if she was wrong. Until, suddenly one day she did divorce him. No amount of other people telling, will make a person move on. Each person has their own personal limit.

On the 10 to Life episode coverage, the husband said to his sister after he was first poisoned on vacation from a sandwich, that “if anything ever happens to me, it was Kouri.” Usually if a spouse gets sick after a meal made from their significant other, it’s usually chalked up to spoiled food. It's not uncommon for men to stay with abusive women who have exhibited past violent/dangerous behavior, because people tend to underestimate women's potential for evil until it's too late.
