If the sound of kid's playing outside bothers her, she's gonna really hate prison life.
😂😂😂
And she better not use those racial slurs in there either
Corrections Karen... aka "Slammer Susan".
Kids playing is the best of noise.
@@winkieblink7625 I said the same thing. What do sirens do to Karen? 🚨
She will probably be kept in protective housing. Otherwise, she won’t last long.
The fact that she admitted to purchasing a weapon specifically for this situation and then later looked up self defense laws smells of premeditation… she knew she was going to delete AJ and all she needed was the opportunity to do it.
In Florida you’re actually required to learn all these laws. If you’re going to carry unfortunately now Florida is a constitutional carry state which I’m almost OK with I’m just really really into people getting a proper legal training.
@@miikeklume4869 I have my concealed carry in Florida. She admitted to looking it up after she purchase the firearm. Not learning from her concealed carry class. If she just bought the gun from a store she wouldn't have had to learn anything. She definitely doesn't now. This is an evil racist hate-filled woman who look for a chance to kill.
She purchased the gun a year before, it can hardly be used as premeditated in this instance , if she bought it the day before then maybe.
She can't claim self defence behind a closed door though
Good point.
@@miikeklume4869 How about basic tactical firearms training?😅

I had to rewind lol the most underrated statement he’s made! LoL
Now that's funny I don't care who you are
I was married to a person like this. The last straw was when she threatened to call police on children picking apples in the backyard.
Good for you for recognizing you deserve better.

It’s kind of late to evict Susan. The landlord should have done this before. Shame it took the loss of life for management to move on this. They were well aware of Susan’s troublesome behavior.
You can’t just evict someone if they haven’t done anything illegal or against the lease agreement. Eviction requires court approval which will not be granted without a legally sound reason for eviction.
Also this case occurred in early 2022, a time when it was extra difficult to evict tenants due to COVID-19 relief policies. In some states during this time, even breaking lease agreement (such as not paying rent) was in some cases not something that your landlord could evict you for.
@@warpedwhimsical Learn more
…
local laws can punish tenants for calling the police, even if the tenant was acting out of fear or legitimate need. These laws are called nuisance ordinances and can impose penalties on property owners for "nuisance" activity on their property. When cited, property owners must take action or face penalties, which can include eviction or lease non-renewal.
@@DEBORAH4-ut9szhat probably depends on the state. I had a tenant who clearly broke the law daily and it took over 60 days to evict her. Even though police were called and came out 5 times. They were very sympathetic but said the were powerless to remove her. I had very little money but had to go to a lawyer to finally get her out of my home.
I also blame the cops. They could have tried to "threaten" her with a charge of misusing 911 to get her to stop. They never even attempted it through all the issues.
@@thomaslance5428 I would have preferred that she continue to call 911 over taking matters into her own hands.
The level of rage that some people have is so disturbing. I had a difficult neighbor for 7 years, and I complained about her a lot. But never once did I think about killing her.
And thankfully she didn't kill you.
@@imaginempress3408 Good point!
the level of bad parenting that some people have is so distubing.
This is why we never confront our neighbour any more about his aggressive behaviour to us and our children. The policy is to ignore him, and call the police if he goes too far. He is just too unpredictable. (I have spent many nights awake in bed scared that he might try to kill one of us. This story is really triggering to me.)
@@animeandwieardness6132 No, AJ messed up. No consideration for others.
She's gonna have a hard time when she has to spend the rest of her life where there's literally no privacy.
She may get only 30 years. She'll probably get out in 2053. Hopefully, she'll treat her neighbors better once she finishes the 30 years.

Good!
People these days are so self absorbed that grace and tolerance while dealing with discomfort is rare. Obviously, this case goes beyond tolerance. I hope justice is served in this case, we have a life lost and children who were left without a mother.
Thank you for covering this case, Dr. Grande.❤
Self absorbed to the maximum. The unchecked human ego is a very ugly and destructive thing. Empathy is lost to a lot of people, many react on a primal animalistic level with no conscience attached to it.
If someone threw a skate @ my kid I would have called the police, not go bang on the door..now she can say she feared for her life, that's why its manslaughter and not premeditated..she'll find god in jail and behave & only serve 1/2 her sentence 🙄😮🙄😮🙄🙄
Three tours in Vietnam shaped me into a worthy opponent in any contentious situation😮 173rd Airborne Brigade/74th Infantry Detachment/ LRRP '66 - '69.
AJ was every bit as self absorb as susan. If AJ cared about her kids more than her kids right to antagonize susan they would all be alive today. Susan appearsas thou she is not a nice person. AJ is the lesser of 2 victims, susan is the other victim here, a victim of harassment by unchecked kids. kids raised without any respect for adults.
@@reddyfreddy Lots of rage there. Always easy to tell the bullies.
These poor children are suffering without their mother. The police were called ten times????😮. The system failed again. Another great analysis. As a 74 year old single person who lives alone I love the sound of children playing outside. Cant imagine how it would make someone go crazy.
What’s sad is cps will now kidnap those kids , split them up and put them in diffferent homes all over America . They’ll never get to see eachother again
To be fair, you were not there and have no idea what these particular children were doing or saying.
@@LoneStarMillennial they were playing around and screaming... ya know the stuff kids do... there were multiple witnesses to attest to this plus the video just came out of her interrogation and she describes two girls playing a screaming game. I used to pretend like I was an opera singer when I a kid. I can't imagine how annoying that was to my parents and neighbors, but no sane person would think "I should call this child racial slurs and other derogatory names". If you "see yourself in this woman", seek professional help. Being miserable is a choice.
She is an old maid. Never married or had children. Selfish and a liar. No reasonable person in their house, armed and on the phone with police would feel that their life is in danger.
And, how many folk keep the TV or radio on just for company? Considering the decibels of a lot of commercials, the kids noise would be like lullabies. She is a bitter, negative, nasty person I'm afraid; she didn't get along with other neighbors.
Imagine being mad at kids who are actually trying to play together outside instead of sitting on their phones
Kids have a right to play outside and get exercise on common property. This woman was a miserable person wanting to spread her misery. Unfortunately, confronting this type of person or reasoning with this person is futile.
Sounds like both are terrible people…..
@Philoneous Maximus What do you mean? Susan put up the no trespass signs, even though the field was for everybody. That does make it one sided.
@Philoneous Maximus You totally ignored that the field was common-area for all tenents.. Susan had no right to put the sign there.
@Philoneous Maximus The landlord said the empty field was a common area, meant for things like children playing. It sounds like the kids were staying there playing and being kids, like they were supposed to be doing, and the neighbor didn't like the loud noise of kids playing.
And deadly
Susan could've easily moved to a 55+ community where there arent any children that would've been dead silent. Instead, she decided to make 4 kids orphans. 🤬
easily moved?? Really? Why dont you start a free moving company for cranky neighbors? You know, to help people move who need to be moved.
@@reddyfreddy Dunning-Kruger hats are extra small. And they're cheap.
She'd find a reason to complain about her 55+ neighbors, too.
@@reddyfreddyyeah it’s just easier to buy a gun and bullets and kill an innocent mother.
Funny, I live in such a community in the same city where this happened. There are tons of inexpensive 55+ communities here. It's amazingly quiet, which is something I really treasure. It's not easy to move, but it is an option, if you're unhappy where you live.
She wasn’t in immediate danger, her door was closed and locked, no one broke in. You CAN NOT blindly shoot through your front door, 100% negligence. Yes she’s guilty.
100% racism
And extremely stupid.
But she is a woman! Why no pitty! She has "CLIT"! -Therefore no sentences! Only BJ fee...😂😅 (happens a lot irl, and BJ promotes too-both in workplace and uni for so many sensor-feeler women and narcissits too).
How do you know? Maybe her door wasn't that strong. If someone comes aggressive to my door, I'm going to protect myself
You don't need to wait for someone to break down your door before you can claim self-defense.
I can't believe she killed someone over something so stupid. Those kids don't have a mom anymore. WTF is wrong with her?
Yeah.... I can certainly understand how stupid this whole thing was. Here's the thing, though; AJ was in a position not to bang on the door yelling... the fact is that those kids don't have a mom because their mom - AJ - and Susan were both dumb af. There's a part of me that believes that AJ was really pushing it.... the whole "I'm a mama bear and will loudly protest the rights of my kids".... and now AJ is dead. AJ was likely a bonnet queen with delusions of power. A younger woman who thought she could confront an older woman pushing 60.
I could easily believe that there's a racial element to this whole f'ed up mess.... but I'd not dismiss the possibility that AJ was playing the "racist" card against her neighbor.
Now AJ is dead.... and, notwithstanding any other causes which may exist, AJ is dead because she was stupid. Understanding your environment and assessing risk is critical to anyone's safety. AJ f'ed up. Oh well.... I reckon that the baby daddy's can take over with the kids.
@@haggis525 Is this Susan? Because you sure sound miserable, lonely and full of hate. I feel sad for you.
Not sure what this one ^ is talking about (people like to weave in their own prejudices) but let's say these were women of the same race...Woman 1 did the wrong thing by behaving this way, to children, over a common area (why not call the landlord for clarification. It'd be squashed there. If the response isn't to your liking, make plans to move)...the children went to their parent, the right thing to do. Woman 2 picks from several choices - 1. In days gone by, adults would speak to one another about children's behavior. You would think this is the reasonable thing to do...2. Woman 2/the mother could have called the landlord or police. She chose to go to the neighbor's door, knock/"bang" and shout her message through the closed door. And with no weapon or crossing the threshold "meets her fate"...there was opportunity for things to be done differently by both adults (especially knowing the outcome), but ending someone over words through a door as a result of a confrontation you started obviously carries a lot more blame...motivated by racial discrimination or not
She's a shitty evil person. Jmho
@Christopher Orrell bonnet queen? You sound like a crazed racist like Susan. So, how would you have handled the situation of someone intentionally mistreating your kids. Are you not allowed to knock on their door to talk about it? I would be angry too!
Imagine what would've happened if Susan didn't have a gun. She would've hid inside her house and AJ would still be alive with her children. Don't make excuses for bad behavior.
I’m sick over this. I’m just speechless! A child has not only lost his mother, he has WITNESSED her murder.
Mercy Jesus!
Too many of these shootings in the news these days. Life should not be trivialized like this. So, your emotions are justified. Mine are just numb. So much shootings have occurred thst i don't feel for all these innocent people. That's wrong. If i was her son, i would be traumatized.
She had 4 kids too the youngest is 3😢.. people are evil
Oh mercy FOUR children LOST their MOTHER!
4 orphans over some roller skates.
So senseless;, so sad that woman took a mother out over what?
Many years ago while I lived in my previous house we had a terrible snow storm. Many inches of snow fell. At the end of the day I was resting in my house after spending hours digging out of the snow. I heard a pounding on my front door. I opened it up and my neighbor was about to yell at me when another neighbor called out, "the people in that house did not put snow in front of your house because that was done by the city snow plows." Apparently, my neighbor thought our hired snow removal guy placed snow on a spot she dug out for her car. My neighbor who was about to yell at me for something I did not do suddenly looked embarrassed. I said, "you need someone to help dig you out. I will help you." I got my coat and grabbed a shovel and dug her out. That was the last time that neighbor tried to yell at me. We lived peacefully until we both eventually moved.
You handled it better than the situation in Pennsylvania that resulted in 2 murders and a suicide a couple of years ago.

I thought the same thing. My heart breaks for those poor kids.
Omg 😢
That is sad.

It wasn’t even her property to begin with! I know some homeowners don’t like kids on their lawn for fear of getting sued if they fall or something.
But she was a renter and it was common space!
Was it common to the apartment block only? If so, the children shouldn't have been there.
@@LewisSkeeter It was not hers, period. It also does not matter if it was, you cannot shoot anyone for trespass on property in any US state.
I have a field behind my house that connects our property with an elementary school. There are ALWAYS kids out there. And I’ll be honest, listening to them play outside and enjoy their lives while I work from home (or even if I’m just chilling out around the house) brings me SO MUCH JOY. I love knowing they have a safe space to just be kids. I cannot IMAGINE the type of misery someone has to have inside of them for the sound of children playing to make them THIS angry. God bless AJ’s loved ones and those other neighbors. So traumatic for all effected by this woman’s evil heart. Beyond sad.
My sister lives right behind a high school football field. We love it when the lights are lit up for practice or a game, hearing the band practice, listening to the laughter and joy. It's wonderful
I'm with you. I LOVE hearing kids play. I once had a neighbor come over angrily telling me kids were hiding in my bushes when they played hide and seek. MY bushes! I told him I knew and thought it was wonderful. He harrumphed away and stayed mad. Some people are just awful, and I'm too old to care why anymore. They should just cop on to themselves and get help rather than being nasty to the rest of us.
Just recently a family moved in behind me. It has been years since we have had playing-outside-aged-kids. I had forgotten how much life they bring. So grateful.
Right!!! How miserable. But it sounds like she's never had children or hubby maybe even no nieces or nephews to brighten her life with the light and love of any children. So she then became the Shrek of her own swamp and didn't want anyone around her or her swamp. Sorry about the Shrek , swamp reference but this literally reminded me of that in the beginning of the movie. The fairytale characters are the kids and she's Shrek. She's all like " get out of my swamp". Except even Shrek himself wasn't a killer . So she's just an ugly ogre who hates anything that shines with love and innocence like AJs children. 😢
Right?! Kids being joyous is such a beautiful sound, I love kids, including my own ❤️ I feel a motherly instinct over any children in my care or even nearby. I loathe the kind of person who doesn't feel happiness at the sound of kids loving life! I pray that these poor sweet children can find some semblance of peace, my heart breaks for them 💔
What an absolute vile human being. I hope she gets what’s coming to her in prison for what’s she done
Susan was out of her mind and if she hated kids she should have moved to a child free apartment instead of bullying the neighborhood and shooting AJ.

Lawn obsession is a huge problem in America among the middle and upper class
Susan seems more like poor white trash to me. The place also looks it. If she was well off, and given she is older and lives in FL, she be in a 55 plus restricted gated community.
People pay a lot in property taxes, and it continues after they pay off the house.
Disrespect for private property is the huge problem. Not lawn obsession. Most people in this country are obsessed with some material possession or other. If someone has a hobby of keeping a nice lawn, what business is it of yours? It's not a problem.
They lived in an apartment complex. The lady didn’t have a lawn.

What bothers is that it took four days, and numerous calls and emails to the police dept, for an arrest to take place. Shameful.
There are often complex reasons why they do that during the investigation. They get her guard down and investigate her. It makes it easier to convict her.
Susan was not likely to flee and didn't flee.
They waited until they had investigated enough to support solid charges.

I know AJ‘s children feel horrible since they were the ones who told her about the confrontation with Susan. Not only that, they saw the mother gets shot to the door. These kids will need therapy probably for the rest of the lives.
They'll benefit from it if they can find a good, honest, committed therapist. For most people, only about 5% or 10% of the experience in therapy is really novel though. 90%+ of it is basically sharing the wisdom that most people's parent's neglected to really drill in properly.
If you have good friends, though, once you learn all these things, you can usually move on as long as nothing new and big comes up.
A big exception to all of this is people who use their therapist as a substitute for a close friendship/friendships, and people who have narcissistic tendencies and would rather just continue to pay to ask the same questions and get the same answers from their therapist, rather than following anyone's advice and changing any major aspects of their life.
One of the kids was with her,he could have being shot instead
i bet they will never will bother neighbors again after this.
She should have gotten another sentence fir what she did to each child. I think all killers should get a sentence for each person they harm. Maybe killers would understand they will go away FOREVER.
Tragic. Poor kids.
I’m so heartbroken that AJ is dead and that her children have been left without a mother. What frightens me most is that resolving conflict by shooting and killing has become the norm. 😢
That's just the norm for American's. No other country would dare stoop this low to little self-respect
I grew up in low income apartments. There were a lot of complexes, I’m thinking 6. Environments like that, there are a lot of adults that lives aren’t going in the direction they want, a lot of time on their hands, and usually mental illness or conditions that have landed them where they are. I remember being 10 and having adults come up to me to argue over trivial happenings. I remember a lot of adults having love triangles with other parents in the neighborhood and conflict brewing over that. Naturally the kids would be included one way or the other. I remember adults who were pissed at each other would call Child Services on the other just out of sheer hate. I don’t want to ever live in apartments again. Getting stuck in close contact with crazy people for an extended period of time is a recipe for disaster
AJ's son was standing next to her at the door. He could have been shot. Did Susan even consider the possibility that a child was there? Such a selfish bitter woman.
I don’t think he cared. Sounds like she hated the kids, too.
She probably wanted to kill them all but killing the mom was a conquest for her.

She don't gaf.

Your humor is so unique and is unexpected when it's said with such a straight face.😂 You seem like such a great human Dr Grande and I love your videos. She's definitely guilty of manslaughter. Haven't heard her side but based on the fact she knew how to call 911, she could've called 911 when she was supposedly fearing for her life while she was on the other side of her locked apartment door...never know what crazy stuff can happen when you argue with people, like neighbors. It's sad that someone's life was taken for such a pointless reason and now her children don't have their mom and hopefully they don't blame themselves at all for telling their mom about the argument, causing her to go over there. Never get into neighbor disputes...they can turn bad fast. hope you have a great weekend Dr Grande ❤️

it wasn't "her" lawn, it was a common area. it was pre meditated, she bought the gun and antagonized the woman so she could provoke a confrontation and have an excuse to shoot the mother or children. She should' NOT have fought with children, she should've spoke to the mother during a calmer time. in a reasonable manner, she could also had brought it up with the landlord.

It wasn’t even a lawn, it was a field. To me a lawn implies a much smaller amount of land than a field. A lawn also typically implies a person owns it. No wonder he looks upset half the time. He's a good man. I wish society was structured to cultivate high quality sentience like himself.
I think he's worse than anyone. He's no goody two shoes in reality. He's sinister.
What made her think she had a right to police the LAWN (emphasis) around her APARTMENT?
That struck me too. She needed a place with her own garden. There'll be no lawns where she's going.
Some people are just like that. I don't know why.
Karens think they own everything. There need to be better laws to stop them, she had been making false police reports, that should result in something like hours of community service. This is also why I like cameras around, with sound. That way such actions can be proven and it would keep kids safer.
Some people think their crap doesn’t stink and that they have the authority over other people. Just super confused people in general, they haven’t been humiliated to the point that they change their entitled behavior yet.
She felt entitled... classic narcissistic behavior.
It seems like every apartment block has one of these people. Constantly whining and complaining, yelling at people like they own the place, and filing false reports against anybody who dares offend them. While it's fairly satisfying seeing one of them face consequences for being an overbearing asshole... it's incredibly unfortunate that it had to come at the expense of another woman's life. My sincere condolences to AJ's family and loved ones. This entire incident was completely unnecessary. Those poor children...
I guess the moral of the story is: if someone keeps complaining to you just tell them something along these lines, "I've been listening to you complain for 2-3, 5 years now! I can't listen to it anymore. I just can't do it anymore. I know your problems, ok? But now I gotta worry about myself cuz: You're driving me nuts!" Still, infinitely, better than killing someone
I hope all Karen's will join my campaign to rid our name of this vile insult. Those who engage in whining, complaining, aggressive tantrums should be labeled as a "Marge." This name is of the same era, but it actually has historical roots.
I’ve got one of those neighbours. Luckily, I live in a country with no easy access to guns so I just tell her to get lost and remind her she doesn’t own the building. It’s scary to think that any dumb situation can turn deadly in the US.

I wonder if Susan ever just went over to AJ's house to discuss how the children were disturbing her. Another option would be for Susan to move into an adult 55 community, not kill the mother.
Then aj would of shot her for knocking on her door . It’s a no win situation
In my youth the worst you'd get from a lawn Nazi was a phone call to your mother. Crazy world we live in.

I lived by neighbors like this. They sent their kids to play on the dead end street by my house, and weren't just loud, they'd throw stuff at my car and try to abuse my dogs. I worked rotating shifts so during the day they did not let me sleep. Not only did the parents not ask their kids to be considerate, they told them on purpose to play by my house. Trying to talk nicely to them didn't work, eventually I had to call the cops. No matter how upset I got, it never occurred to me to shoot someone. I just moved.
You shouldn’t have to move 💯
Your neighbors were menaces.
These people sounded like normal children playing in an open lot like children usually do.
There was no report that AJs children behaved in an anti social way. There are areas where children are totally left without parental guidance with asbo parents. Living there is an absolute nightmare. Our neighbours and their kids are great, though. Its problematic to get peace in day time, working night shifts. You need to black out the room and get ear plugs. I couldnt do it.
My neighbors boys blinked flashlights in my windows at night and bounced soccer balls on my roof during the night. And were on my lawn a lot, in my garage, though asked not to. Harassed my cats, too. I did wish they would do it to the wrong person someday, I admit. Pretty sure they would have left a Susan alone, though.

She needs to realise that some of these prisoners are far more dangerous than she is so a surprise awaits her.

Harassing other residence in common areas should have been grounds for loosing her lease.
What does common area mean? If there are several apartments in a these apartments share this area. As i understand children live on the opposite side of the street. It was a common area. Dr. Grande explains the specifics in the video.

The only reason he came to that conclusion, while ignoring all the other neighbors saying that the victim never once threatened her, is because they relates to her and they see themselves in her. Provocation isn't an excuse for assault. Screaming and banging on someone's door is assault.
All over Florida there's 55 and over communities for every budget. If you live in an apartment, you've got to expect children will play outside. Susan used some cruel racial slurs to those children. I hope she gets to live rent free for the next 30 yrs and learns to get along with her new neighbors in an environment when she has no privacy or quiet.

If she saw any kids in front or just walking by her house she'd come out screaming. All of us kids in the neighborhood were scared to death of her. The rumor was she was a witch and she did terrible things to children if she caught them. We would have not gone near her place except for that was the path to the city park. Her relatives had her committed and in time the house was torn down because her cats had free rein in the house for years and they couldn't get the smell out.
That’s how these women used to be dealt with. Children would be taught to fear them and stay away. Now people tell their kids they are entitled to provoke and yell at old crazy people.
