The volume in these comments are astronomical 🤭😂
Time to get the waterproof eyeliner for Cancer
Imma be like:
MOM! WHERE MY EYELINER AT?????!!!!
So true.
the whole album is a concept album about "the patient" dying from cancer
I never understood if/where "Teenagers" fits in this narrative. I like the album and the story in it a lot, but that song never made sense for me in the story...
Laura yeah the band said that it doesn’t really fit the narrative. but they included it because they felt like it had an important enough message that needed to be told. kids need to stop shooting other kids.
@@jrod6220 True. I really like the song as well. Just doesn't fit the nareative. The message of "Teenagers" is important though and I'm glad that they did include it anyways ^-^
It's the only track that feel ouf of place.... But still a pretty good song
The Black Parade Album iz all about Death. Teenagers is like... Just added to the concept.
Spot on! At the end he finally joined The Black Parade which is The land of the Dead.
Famous Last Words by them next Please!!!
Hit that thing!!🤤
Right on the nail!
This song is part of a concept album, all of the songs are centered around a young man dying of cancer. "The Black Parade" is essentially death so you are correct! The whole album is worth a listen. :)
I've always had a different interpretation...the Patient dies "of a complication in your heart," ambiguous enough to suggest different things...But then, the way I always hear the album, the Black Parade arrives & takes the Patient on a kinda Dickensian journey through time & death: they come to a cancer patient, but also a preacher damning his congregation to hell, then a battlefield where they meet Mother War (Liza Minelli's cameo), a mental patient in a psychiatric ward ("Sleep"), then a high school shooting...and finally ending with the Patient's own father ("Disenchanted"). I also think the final track leaves it ambiguous whether he's actually died, or just fell asleep & wakes up in the hospital bed ("awake and unafraid; asleep or dead").
Helena, teenagers, I'm not okay. All are great
Helena is so addicting to listen to on road trips 🤣🤣
Helena and I’m not okay still put me in my feelings

I’m glad for your sake you liked this song cause you just avoided so much smoke you don’t even know! Love the vids man
Facts tho lol
😂🤣😂🤣
Sad but true 😂
Yes, we MCR fans can be....territorial lol. But if he didn't like it, that's okay, as long as there was a valid reason. Some of these folks say dumb ass stuff like "f*gs in eyeliner" and shit.
@@01gharms yeah..... We are pretty intense....
Some lyrics fitting for 2020:
A world that sends you reeling
From decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end, we hear the call
To carry on
We'll carry on
All you fellas out there, stay strong
✌️ you too
Even more r relevant today
And yes the guy in the video is “the patient” he is dying and the parade is a memory from his childhood. There’s a lot more to unpack in the song but that’s the general gist lol
Sooo much to unpack XD
Isn't the whole idea that when you're dying you're strongest memory will be the last thing on your mind? His strongest memory is when his dad brought him to the parade when he was a boy.
darkiee69 the entire album is about him revisiting his whole life but this song in particular is the memory of the parade his dad took him to of course. Maybe cause it was his strongest memory idk to be honest
@@darkiee69 Gerard said the same thing .
MCR got me through those college years back on the early-mid 2000s. Still my favorite band. They've grown so much since their beginning. I remember seeing them in a little bar in Sayerville, NJ in front of 10 people back on 2002... and now they sold out a worldwide reunion tour in 30 mins.
You got to see them that early :'0 what I wouldn't give
You're so lucky
You literally lived my dream , I've always wished I was a college student in the early 2000s so I could go to punk shows and see MCR in their early days when they performed in basements 😭
@@snowchips9596 true I was born in 2003 after mcr was formed and was always too young to go to one of their shows.
Please try My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words it has a pretty cool guitar riff.
Van, just letting you know that this comment has more than 50 likes. Thanks Dustin for commenting this song!
Holy shit i requested this one, never thought it would get through! Nice man!
“I thought he was giving birth”
“Oh Jesus”
😂😂😂
Love how they're both shaking their heads along to the music
I’ve heard of this song but never listened to it. God damn I was missing out. That was awesome! 🤘🏻
For me this song is still a anthem to this day. ( And so emotional that my heart skips a beat everytime i hear it )
Gerard Way formed this band to try to explore the concept of grief through art, to help express something that's so difficult for all of us in a way that brings people together. Loved the reaction!
Oh shit this brings out some high school memories for me.. This one and Yellowcard were on repeat back then LOL
I know right. I'm having serious nostalgia rn
IF I COULD FIND YOU NOW THINGS WOULD GET BETTER. WE COULD LEAVE THIS TOWN AND RUN FOREVER. I KNOW SOMEWHERE SOMEHOW WE'LL BE TOGETHER
dude on the left was FEELING it! lol
You have to check out Cancer, Helena, and Famous Last Words by them!!
DESTROYA😏

Man you should totally react to this whole album it’s honestly a masterpiece
This song was really an anthem for an entire generation and I really want you to hear more MCR, but I’ll suggest If You Keep Losing Sleep - Silverchair
Yessss! A classic right here
Other My Chemical Romance songs you should react to: Ghost of You, Helena, Famous Last Words, Teenagers. Maybe even "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Both of Us" (from their first album)
“Honey, this mirror isn’t big enough for the both of us” that would be a dope reaction
Im not okay, Helena, Ghost of you
This song is an anthem and will continue to be an anthem till the end of time
Talk about a throw back!!! And I still sang every word along with it! 🔥🔥🔥
This album is worth the listen. Mama and Sleep are really good ones. Honestly the entire album is very good.
You HAVE to do" Famous last words" now guys that's protocol.
Their songs are amazing!
Y'all should definitely look into the band more
It's pure magic
One of my favourite songs of all time. I'm 29, it brings all the teenage memories back.
Time flies lol I’m 26 and this song brings back so many memories
Your memory will,..... CARRRRYYYYY ONNNN!!!!!
MCR, my all time fav ❤️.. from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Gerard is a super talented dude. Also the author of the Umbrella Academy comics.
Bro, I've been a full time musician for 35 years. I'm usually depressed by how little reactors seem to understand about music. When you said "larger than life" and dramatic, and going somewhere bigger you hit it right on the head. I've never been in to heave stuff like metal because it lacks soul, melody and most things I like in music. These guys put theater and feeling and complex chord structures on top of nice melodies and I can't help but rock out to them. For your knowledge and understanding of the craft you get a sub.
Hope you keep at it and get your dreams. I'll be checking in.
I love it when people love this song! New fan of the channel here
Your next My Chemical Romance reactions need to be:
- I'm not okay
- Teenagers
TEENAGERS!!! Yes bro 😂😂
What about Na Na Na Na and Sing?
Do you know what they do to guys like us in prison
@@Catherine.Dorian. uhh
Bring me back memories with this
Yesss!!!! I've been waiting for more people to start reacting to this type of music!
I will play this at my funeral 😭
Absolutely love this whole album!! Loving the reaction videos, and like you Van, I'm a Stan 👌🏻 keep up the good work and to the rest of ya'll... HIT THAT THANG!!!!
This entire album is a masterpiece! Not a bad song on it, and believe me, I dont fit the profile for someone who would like this album. Its a Concept album
And a good one to do all lyric videos to better understand them.
First time watching, love the pantomime of the drums. I could really tell you two were really into this song.
I'll argue that it MIGHT be the best song made in the last 20 years
you should react to "the used - pretty hansome awkward". would be good for a car test if you wanna get a little loose on the road.
🤘🤘 This whole album is their Opus!!!! The time and effort shows!!! 🤘🤘
any time i hear that octave’s “g” my brain goes into this song.
So I'm new here but this song actually makes me think of my mom who passed. The meaning behind this song is that when you die you remember your favorite memory as you pass (the son remembering his favorite memory of his father taking him to a parade). It's actually a true belief from way back that people believed your most treasured moment comes to you at your moment of death. When people took pictures of their dead loved ones (circa 1800's) they believed they were helping their loved ones move on to the afterlife and if they didn't they would be stuck there in limbo. So this song actually goes through the death process and the light and the dark of the moment but that you will never be forgotten by the living. Just a fun fact since this was a reaction video and sometimes it helps to have the meaning or history behind why it was written. :) I love your singing and reaction btw.
We'll carry on, we'll carry on. And though your dead and gone believe me, your memory will carry on
Just to add-on, one of the reasons for the one-time custom of "death photos" is both that photography at the time was incredibly expensive and that the exposures took a very long time. For lots of people, having a picture taken was a once-in-a-lifetime expense, if they ever got a photo at all. In combination, these two facts led to a logical conclusion; if you only get one photo, and you have to stay incredibly still for a very long time to have it taken, why not get it done upon your death? That way, your picture will match the last memories your loved ones have of you.
This is also partially why people in old photos not only don't smile, but have extremely neutral expressions. Even when photography became cheap and easy enough to become more commonplace and therefore for the living, it still took a while. Try standing in front of a mirror and holding exactly the same smile for a couple of minutes without moving. It's shockingly difficult. If you did move, you'd ruin the picture of your face with motion-blur, so people were advised to keep their faces as completely at-rest as possible.
This album is really amazing, it's sort of a rock opera all around death, and the different perspectives of a man dying from cancer. The first two songs have one of the best transitions in history, imo, and while not every song is a banger, it's definitely worth listening to start to finish at least once
This song sends tingles through my body. So uplifting and real.
Yesss!!! My Chemical Romance. Literally living legends... These guys got me through so much shit. Do more My Chemical Romance
Great reaction guys, the music video and song is a dark moody rocking masterpiece.
These are real people who watch and listen to my chem for the first time.
Another video throwing me back to high school 🙌🏾
This song is like the modern day Bohamian Rapsody by Queen.
okay but can we talk about my guy at 3:56 drumming to the music spot on
First FIR and now MCR?! I think you want to be best friends aha
my man playing the air drums lol you can always tell when a dad is feeling a song because the air drums come out
Sooo good! Love MCR! Great vid, thank you!
Dad loves you son! Soooooooo much! And keep carrying on his legacy! ❤️🔥
Essentially, its saying that as we die, we remember the greatest this we did in our life. For the man in the video, it was a parade that his father took him to. That's what ultimately lead him to death, the memories of the greatest day of his life.
ABSOLUTELY ❤❤❤ M.C.R. !!! This was my favorite band in middle school and high school !!! They still AMAZING !!
This song is great. Thanks for the reaction it was great.
Some of the best air drumming I've seen in a while, well done
...where the good guy starts winning..... THE BEST DESCRIPTION!!!!
I love Your energy!!! Kisses from Poland 😚
Ahh yes, my teenage years 🔥
Early Sunsets over Monroeville is a must My Chem reaction song. A MUST!
I always hold my breath to see ppl reaction to lipless g
omg, great reaction! you should definitely react to The Black Parade album at some point. every song on there is a masterpiece, including this one. my chemical romance's second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, is amazing as well. i'd suggest listening to "famous last words", "mama", "sleep", and "house of wolves" from The Black Parade album, and "the ghost of you" from Three Cheers.
Dude, your audio quality is really good! Congrats!
Really, this song could take on so many more meanings these days! It would be cool if they brought this back and did a collab with somebody with another perspective.
hell yeah nice reaction !
I love this cuz like the reactions to this song are like all the same. Like, everyone loves this song.
Great observation of the song feeling like when the heroes are winning. The lead singer is also a well decorated comic book writer of the comic The Umbrella Academy.
Famous Last Words is the companion to this song, all MCR's albums are concept pieces really. Ghost of You is amazing, Helena and the later stuff with the Na Na Na/Sing combo (also a little easter egg in there from this vid) are all worth a watch
The Black Parade is one of the best albums ever made. Not many bands can pull off a 'rock opera' about cancer, depression, coping with death, ect... I can remember MCR took a lot of shit when they first came out as being just another emo pop punk band, but I'm glad they're starting to get the recognition they deserve all these years later with YT reactions.
Even if you don't do it for videos, you really have to sit and listen to the CD from start to finish at least once.
This song definitely sounds like the bit in a movie when the good guy finally starts to win.
one of my favorite things ever is watching people for the first time listen to WTTBP. it's such a beautiful song, and more people should listen to it.
the album is about a man's experience with dying from terminal cancer. the grim reaper, or death, manifests itself as The Black Parade, as the man has fond memories as a child of going to see a parade with his father.
love the deep feeling of it brothers, big ups, half of reactions don't even get it, aint doing no homework whatsoever either don't feel/hear at all
I almost never comment or like, but I have to both on this. The dad's air drums we're almost immediately perfect
Dang! this one takes me way back hahah
I saw them and Green Day on time when I was at USF back somewhere between 04-07 can't remember exactly when but they were great.
This whole album is fantastic. Check out 'Teenagers' from this one.
How did I miss this?! You're the ONLY person I've seen react to MCR. I love it!
Classic!!!!
The drummer who wrote the percussion is cheech iero
Subbed!! After watched your reaction on System of a Down, and now this. Great reaction, man!!!
Your son watching you during your air drum solo is my 5 year old daughter every time we listen to music together she just smiles and then proceeds to jam as hard as she can to match my energy 😂
this is like the first reaction to this music video where someone actually understood the concept and it didnt fly right over their heads lmao
I used to dislike my chemical romance I thought they were just another teeny popper band then I heard them live at warp tour been in love with them ever since they put on amazing show
Thanks bro, спасибо! Clamp your hand, Russia with you.
Somehow I have fallen into a UA-cam dive of watching "The Black Parade" (a song about a man dying of cancer) reactions after the death of Chadwick Boseman. I agree it's "kind of dark" (like you said) but I've always loved the song...I'm glad you enjoyed it as well.
Good reaction all around.. but dude... I adore your tie!!!
OH SHEESH YALL, TWAS A DREAM... Rest In Peace Jake And Amir the series... where I first heard the song... thanks for everything CollegeHumor... so nostalgic
God this brings me back
This whole album is great
Every song from MCR are all bangers and I love them
This is one of my favorite bands. PLEASE do more MCR !!
Unrelated to the vid, but the art in the BG is amazing.
