In the English version, the King cat is voiced by Tim Curry! He hams it up pretty well too!
What I really like about this movie is how it's pretty much an ohmage to a lot of old Japanese folktales in which the main protagonist, usually an old man, would save a suffering animal from death and would be visited by them the next night to thank them for saving their life by rewarding them with marriage. Even the original Japanese title for the movie, Neko no Ongaeshi, is the same as a lot of other stories with this premise like, Tsuru no Ongaeshi. I like how this movie kind of puts a twist on the old trope by having it take place in the modern world and the savior being a teenage girl instead of an old man. Overall, great reaction!

Can I just say, even though lots of people seem to love this film to death, this is the only Ghibli movie I truly dislike, I'd even say hate.
It bored me to death, which I assure you is not easy, and when they got in the cat kingdom and the whole wedding/cat transformation happened, I felt SO uncomfortable.
Baron? In my opinion, extremely overrated.
I really, really can't think of anything that I like about this movie, maybe only the scene where the tower collapsed.
I don't want to sound bitter, but I wanted to share how I feel about it.
