This was EXCELLENT, it was just a shame that the day this debuted, was the same day Chance had tested positive and he was stuck in his hotel room in Winnepeg, Manitoba up in Canada for more than a week. I love we got to hear Chance sing in his wonderful bass voice for a change...sounds so damn good. All around an awesome WINNER for Chance & The Hound+ The Fox
It was genius of them to film Wayfairing Stranger from one side of the tunnel and Sound of Silence on the other side. That one is in the Hound and The Fox channel.
I found the Hound and The Fox when Tim Foust sang with them on We Three Kings. Have been following every since. They are my modern day folk artists as that's the music I listened to in the 60s and 70s.
Adam Chance needs to release an album of ballads. His voice is made for that.
I first heard them when they did Parting Glass with Peter Hollens. Beautifully done.
Love , love , love Chance's voice ... together , this trio is amazing !
I really enjoy "The Hound & The Fox's music. They've done a lot of collaborations with different members of Home Free & other artists. Their voices really suit the older folk style of songs & Chance blends well with them. This is a very old song that has been covered by many famous artists such as Burl Ives, Emmylou Harris & Johnny Cash.
Soooo good. Chance has a great voice and I love the Hound + Fox too. They have many collaborations with Chance and Tim and Rob. They’re also in Home Free videos too. They do Hurt also by Johnny Cash. Well done. Good reaction PG.😍
The Hound + the Fox are my favorite duo on UA-cam. Please do more of their stuff. Fun fact: they were responsible for your favorite Home Free music video Butts Medley and my favourite Home Free video: Full of Cheer
Thanks for doing this and showing them some love. I hope you can do The Sound Of Silence they did at the same time soon. 🙂
I love The Hound and The Fox. Tim Foust and his wife have done a video with them together and then each of them separately with The Hound and The Fox. Rob Lundquist also had done a video with them, Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King.
👍The Hound and Fox are wonderful. They commented that Chance is a dream to work with. After filming this they found out he has Covid. Hopefully he'll feel better before his upcoming wedding.🙏
I think Chance is ok. He was back singing with Home Free last week…I don’t remember the exact day. Then Tim tested positive for COVID and missed the final show Saturday so Chance had to sing all the bass lines.
I just love Chances voice. I describe it as being from the inside out. Smooth bourbon going down and wrapped in a warm blanket.
I heard this about a week ago, and Adam Chance quickly took his place as a baritone/ bass right under or alongside Avi.
What a sound.
This is Michael Kaplan's (father of Avi) favorite song and Avi does it well, but this is a fabulous sound to me.
These 3 have such wonderful harmonies together. Their voices blend so amazingly well. Chance is a very gifted artist in collaborations and when he sings solo as well.. Loved this one. ❤ thanks for a great reaction 🥰
I just adore this. It’s one of my favorite songs to begin with, and starting it out with Chance reminding us all that he’s a bass is just 😘. Reilly and Mackenzie have such sweet, pretty voices, that when you add Chance into the mix it makes something special. ❤️🎶❤️
Wow. What a pretty rendition of this song. Very haunting. They sound so good together.
Oh, how beautiful! I love their voices and their harmonies!! I'd love to hear more!!!💜🎶💜
I'm late to this party...By beautiful accident I discovered (via a Tim Foust Birthday party YT link...LOL) the music of H + F and the amazing collaborations they are doing and I am "smitten" completely by the purity, joy and artistry they have on display here...I'm feeling like a treasure hunter discovering a hidden chests of gold.
NOTE: If you haven't heard their amazing trio of the Winter Song w. Jenika Foust you need to hear it now...it's pure magic.
Excuse me, I'm going find out how to buy and support them by buying their music...NOW! Join me and keep this music alive!
I used to think that I could never love a voice more than Austin Brown's, but the more I hear Adam Chance the more I am fascinated by his voice. We already know about his lower range but the higher range at some points here and in Moonshine is not like a baritone reaching but almost tenor in its tone. The voice has a lot of masculine toughness but there is always a slightly compassionate tone to it and he has the ability to make volume talk when he almost fades away.
I think he's at his best in these collaborations with the Zambers - the three voices blend beautifully - but you might also like to check out his version of Pancho and Lefty, the Townes van Zandt classic, where the hints of kindness and mystery in his voice come to the fore.
This was a staple of the Folk-Rock era of the 1960's such as Emmylou Harris, and The Driftwoods, As well as Bill Monroe and the Green Mountain Boys from much earlier Blue Grass music.
Interesting place to film the video. Their son has started playing drums so look out for that coming soon as well 🙂
Have you reacted to The Hound and the Fox featuring Adam Chance covering "Hurt"? It is fantastic!!
I've lost count how many times I've listened to this over the past week! They sound so good together! Sound of Silence is beautiful also. Thanks for another great reaction. 💙😊
Fabulous collaboration 🎶❤️👏
Thank you ^_^
I was so mesmerized by this gorgeous version of a great song, I guess I forgot to comment.
I love it!
The Hound and the Fox and Chance (who said he should be called the Wolf, when he's singing with them) blend so well together. Reilly is such a talented arranger and producer, and McKenzie writes some beautiful original songs. Maybe one day you can watch their song The Good Stuff which they did with Tim and his wife Jenika.
Great old song, glad they're bringing them back as there's not much new, good stuff being created now. Like their sound! Go Chance! Anything new from Home Free? Blessings!
I love the tone of Change’s voice.
They sound so Amazing together ❤🎉
Thanks guys!! Just beautiful!
Yes: Sound of Silence is Gorgeous ❤️
The Bristolian band The Longest Johns has a great cover of Wayfaring Stranger, also Hard Times Come Again No More.
I love the Longest Johns, never heard their version. Going to check that one out.
I love Chance’s version of this. It is a very old song and it seems to have been part of the Appalachian culture forever. In no way to take anything away from Chance’s rendition, Chris Rupp is part of a chill inducing version of Wayfaring Stranger as well.
Good cover a very old spiritual. Also Rhianna Gidden does a wonderful cover of this song
Excellent job! Sound terrific!
That was good.
This is a quote directly from Wikipedia, "Steel and Hulan suggest the song was derived from an 1816 German-language hymn, "Ich bin ja nur ein Gast auf Erden" by Isaac Niswander." And yes you were right that Johnny Cash was the first one to sing it as the original recording artist. I can personally tell you that I knew of the song well before Johnny released it as I was also in a choir during my middle and high school years. It's a great song and I love that Chance showed off just how good he really is.
brilliant mate so good
LOVE IT !!
I loved this
Thanks!
Excellent reaction, I look forward to seeing you react to their version of Sound of Silence.

They did Hurt as well. Chance is a Johnny Cash fan.
You need to do their cover of "Hurt" (NineInchNails cover) if you have not done so already.... their version was moving... Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/Wj4dgqo1kmQ/v-deo.html ..... Another I would suggest is The Hound + The Fox Feat Tim Foust "Three Kings" ua-cam.com/video/eEtUGgBwzEM/v-deo.html .... Thanks for doing this one Pat! Stay strong & safe my friend.
Trace Adkins does an over the top version of this song.
Avi has done and I believe Peter Hollens
Adam Has COVID-19
Chance is now okay but Tim contracted it & couldn't perform with Home Free at the concert in Surrey B.C. Canada this weekend. The other 4 still did a great job.
Awful cover of a great song. What a shame
