_Which one sounds most like your tinnitus?_
My Tinnitus is like a screach sound but when you play the sounds I am not able to hear yours because those sounds are not at my level of Hearing when you play them in a Video here but I just know that you played a sound for me to hear but I am not able to hear it. My Tinnitus seems like my Ears trying to hear something but instead I get the Tinnitus. My Audiologist has me going to ENT Specialist now too so maybe they can help me with that too. It bothers me sometimes like it probably bothers you too but I think that maybe Tinnitus settings on your hearing aids help a little bit to give your Ears something to maybe hear to stop it from happening. I know what it is now so I just try to ignore it when it happens and hope that it goes away. I think that it is worse if you are tired and things too and I get it even if there is nothing around me that would be making sounds and like I said it feels like my Ears are trying to Hear something. So I know why it bothers you so much and I think why do I get Tinnitus when I am not able to hear anything and that is what bothers me about it.
I think mine is like screeching and tonal mixed...
Honestly your video is worse than my tentatis.
@@jenniferbaggett5775 Same for me. It's there 24/7, so I mostly don't notice it. I know that makes me one of the lucky ones.
@@Karin_Allen mine too. I only notice it if I think about it or it's extra quiet.
Honestly it's so loud and high pitched that it's surprising to be able to tune it out... I definitely feel lucky.
I also get scared sometimes that it will get louder overtime and I can't imagine living with that :o
One day I had a "small issue"... my heart stopped for about three seconds... Those were the "best three seconds of my life"... In that moment for some reason my tinnitus disappeared completely... It was so peaceful and quiet. I had no idea how amazing it was to be normal. As soon as my heart started beating again the high pitch noise returned. I guess it was a good thing right... Not the tinnitus but my heart restarting.
Have you cured your tinnitus now?
@@siddhantsharma9725 unfortunately not, I gave up... I pretend everything is ok 😔 "Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd"
I have always considered my tinnitus as a type of "pilot tone" sound of life.
Can be from directed electromagnetic energy weapons
Continuous Kettle sound only in one ear, and other dull sounds. Also hearing loss in same ear. Have had numerous tests mri, audiology and nothing can be done for me.
I got tinnitus back in May of 2019 randomly one day at work. No injuries, head damage, loud events, etc, just felt like someone flipped on the switch one day and I started to hear it in one ear. I was asking my co workers if they heard a ringing too which they looked at me crazy when I kept asking throughout the day. I had a cold prior so thought it was clogging in the ears but it wasn’t. It progressively got worst over the weeks and went to my 2nd ear nonstop. Being almost 3 and a half years now I went to both the top tinnitus specialist in my state and they both said the same thing. “People your age with no injuries or damage with tinnitus non stop ringing for months we only see 1/2 a year” I was 21 at the time and it Drastically changed career path. Being 24 now, I wish I could hear silence and peace just one more but always be fortunate people you could be deaf, blind, paralyzed, etc. stay strong out there 👍
Hey I am at the same place as you, how are you dealing with it daily?
My Tinnitus, in 2018 I think I'm not really sure but I know it's been a while and it started one summer day I'm sitting at home no noise no nothing in fact I was sitting in my living room reading and it felt like something something ripped I shook my head and then held my ears let go sounds quiet but it started right back and it hasn't stopped since now I just pay attention to whatever I'm doing and sometimes I don't even hear it. But it's always there but I just decided I wasn't going to take over me and run my life I just ignore it.
You'll get used to it. White noise is a blessing really. I can't even remember when mine started, back when I was prob 15 or so. I loved loud music
I just woke up with it today in my left ear… the sound of what the guy has in the video. and I think I might have it. I had a mild concussion 8 days ago had a headache for like 4-5 days but idk if that has anything to do with it
Its blod is being blocked in your head. The blood pressure causes tinnitus. You can try to blow your nose while blocking it with your hand. The noise goes away momentary because the air pressure drained blood vesels.
One morning, i had a strong tinnitus sound and headache. It got way worse, and i heard like a click in the middle of my head. Like a small bone snap sound. The headache and tinnitus went away, also my chest feels relieved. I guess because the blood path on my head was opened and blood flew freely. Ofc it was momentary and it came back.
Tonal for me! Had it since I was 8yrs old and I've learnt to live with it quiet comfortable. Feel so sorry for anyone who struggles with it!
I usually hear it when its very quiet, or after i listen to something loud. Its mostly quiet and feels like a small bleeping in my ears. Actually a bit nice.
I actually enjoy mine as well I focus on it to meditate however I don't just hear one constant tone. Mine are varied and layered sometimes
Hey Ayvu, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Matthew
Tinnitus is such a horrible and awful condition, that can badly impacts one's quality of life. It is very serious. We might all give our time to raise awareness to this condition, and for those who can, give money to researchers and institutions in order to find a cure.
Same here
My hear is pretty well. I do hear slight ringing though 😂.
I worked at the Ford Casting Plant, a plant that was extremely loud, and the company checked our hearing yearly on site in a state of the art sound lab. Although not mandatory, hearing protection was suggested. The first sound in your assortment matches the tinnitus I suffer from, which only became apparent after my separation from the company

When I get depressed no one gives a shit the think I'm making it up . Or get told to man up lol its brutal if anybody on here needs to talk hit me up bros and sisters
@@steveread7710I feel that one. I man it up and hold it in. I hated it but now I see it as a blessing. The answers come to light quickly and then just like ok yeah uh huh sure anyways k bye.
I can’t sleep on my right side anymore because it’s so bad in my right ear and I cannot sleep or be in complete silence. Lesson, don’t get head injuries and don’t blast your music
Mine is high pitched tonal constant. It goes away when I'm not stressed...which is almost never at this point because of work. Covering my ears and tapping the back of my head helps about 70% of the time. Otherwise listening to leafs rustling/wind through trees can dim it into the background for a while.

I use rainymood "Countryside" to help me relax using a workout headband (with speakers built in). It's a god send because I also suffer from migraines which are primarily auditory based.

Thanks to your video I've found that I have been suffering from tonal tinnitus. Thank you!
Closest one is teakettle. Does not seem to bother me during the day, unless surrouondings are very quiet. I do hear it constantly upon retiring, but have learned to live with it and it rarely interrupts my sleep patterns.
I have the tonal noise. I have had it since I was young . Over 40 years easy. It is very loud but you just learn to live with it. But it is embarrassing when people wish to talk to you and you struggle to hear them
Until my teenage years, I always was hearing some kind of ringing when everything was quiet. My tinnitus was not constant, it felt a bit like a really slow Morse code getting louder and quieter, and also the tone was drifting a bit. Because of this instability, sometimes it was creeping me out as if I was hearing "someone morse-coding me from my nightmares".
Mine got louder and quieter when I was smaller but now is constant and sometimes a pain
My tinnitus. Is a combination of the first and third type. Although the tone is slightly lower. The main causality was two separate work related instances approximately 15 years apart. Both were involving improper hearing protection. Both were a sudden sustained increased in air pressure over a period of time. Which in actuality was only a few seconds each. The second time resulted in my perceived loss of hearing over shadowed by what sounded similar to a flock if chickadees surrounding me 24 hours a day. Since then certain sounds or environments inact my tinnitus. I have a sound program loaded in my hearing aids which I can turn on. In my case the sounds in the program can alleviate the tinnitus temporarily.
Hey Daniel, thank you or watching and taking the time to comment. It just goes to show how important hearing protection is. I'm really pleased to hear that you ha our coping mechanisms sorted! Matthew
I also have same
Buzzing. I have had it since 2012, and it has never stopped.
Sorry to hear that Joanna! I hope you’re coping, Matthew 😊
A mix of buzzing and screeching. I've always been able to hear it. The first time I remember openly asking my mom about it when i was three. she said everyone always hears that. It's just "background noise"...
My friends just tell me that’s the “sound of silence”
Same response I got. Background noise or sound of silence. Once when I was like 6 I asked my science teacher and she told me it was the sound of blood flowing. Not sure if it made me feel better or worse 😂
@@TobaccoPancake she was compelled to give a bad answer because she did not have the strength to say, "I don't know"
I suffer from tinnitus aswell I'm 21 years old and mine sounds like the first one you played it's really hard aswell at night to sleep sometime it's not as bad but sometimes it's loud but it doesn't help that I'm always concentrating on it which I've been told makes it louder
Thanks for the video. My tinnitus is the same as yours. I first noticed it when I was 4 or 5, or maybe younger. It gets louder in closed spaces like in a car etc. But can mask it with music, tv and other things.
Same I noticed it at a very young age as well… I just never knew what it was … when it happens it’s only for about a minute or so. Definitely longer now that I’m 25 then when I was a child.
Fascinating... I've had tinnitus since I was 9 or so (after a really bad bout of flu and a sinus infection). When you played what you hear, I heard absolutely nothing. It may be that our tinnitus was in the same frequency and I just don't hear it. When you played the other sounds, I could hear them.
I’m exactly the same, when he played his I couldn’t hear a thing, but the following 7 I could hear and none sounded like my constant high pitched low tone noise
Mine is most close to what he experiences but I have to turn up the volume to listen his .
Same here…. Couldn’t hear it at all, but heard the other 7.
Mine is high pitched and constant…but only in my right ear.
same, also around age 9.
I have tonal tinnitus aprox 10,000 hz, thank you 🙏🏽💫🙌🏽👏🏽 blessings from México 🇲🇽
I don't know why but I love you, you seem very trust worthy, thank you.
I hear various forms of tinnitus, sometimes it's low and sort of hissing, other times it's like the first one played for example, but the first one i noticed years ago was the heart beat in one ear. The low one is in the left ear, the second on both and the heart beat one on the right.
I facilitate a hearing support group for seniors, and though I do not suffer from tinnitus, I listened to this presentation to judge its usefulness for the support group. The FIRST note of your own tinnitus sound was totally inaudible to me as it came through my computer speakers, so I switched the output to my KS10 Has, and still I heard nothing. . .well well PERHAPS the faintest very high-pitched sound (I am about 89-90dB down at the highest frequencies). Similarly, the seven most usual tinnitus sounds also sounded pretty much alike to me through my computer's speakers but did indeed differ through my HAs. However, the last three still sounded pretty much alike even with my HAs, though with differing volumes. I managed to hear the high-pitched sound in the first of seven, namely your own tinnitus sound. At any rate, I thank you for this presentation, but I don't think that it would be useful for my hearing support group.
Hi Hugh, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Hopefully you'll find future presentations more appropriate for your group so I'll keep trying! 😀 Matthew
I was not able to hear the sounds either so do not feel bad about it and I think that they are just not in our level of Hearing. I use Captions so I knew that he was playing something but I was not hearing anything so it is good to know that I am not the only person who was not able to hear anything.
So I think that this would only help people with a Higher level of Hearing than we have but I knew by reading the Captions what it was about but I am just not able to hear sounds like that like you too so for us it impossible to know what they are so I just thought about what it is like for me.
Mine is something in between static and roaring. Its very quiet and fades in the background when there is any sort of noise present. It becomes louder and more noticeable in quieter rooms. I feel like I’m going mental when I’m in a quiet room and I hate the silence.
Mine sounds EXACTLY like the one you played that sounds like yours. It's actually so exact that I had to turn my speakers up to hear it, so perfect was the blend.
If I heard nothing, even after turning up my phone all the way, is that why I heard nothing?
Old modem dial-up is what mine sounds like but the examples you have given, mine sounds closest to the kettle sound
Screeching and tonal mixed for me. I can tune it out most of the time.
I spent almost 10 years working in too-loud clubs.
Hey Jennifer. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
My tinnitus came on suddenly and became very loud over a short period of time 2-3 weeks. They found out that I had a neurological issue, all my facial nerves were inflamed. Treating the nerve pain / issues in my face took the volume of my tinnitus from a 9-10 to a 1-2. It’s not gone, but it is manageable and I am able to sleep again.
I think my tinitus got triggered by a neurological issue, i got so angry oneday and it started to whistle, could you tell me please what kind of scanners they did to you ? And what kind of treatement they gave you ? I did visit a couple of physicians but none helped.
I'm really strugling to sleep. 😢
Such a cool workout. Loads of fun.
Tonal and screeching, combined, what mine sounds like. And today was a crazy day 🙃
I had a head injury at work one year ago and suffered a concussion and a fractured bone in my nose. It also left me with constant tinnitus in my left ear- similar to yours. It’s so irritating!

Mine is a cross between buzzing and screeching. A bit like a thousand crickets. Constant, varies in volume. It woke me up tonight. I usually sleep with headphones on to fall asleep, (music or audiobook) as it's a lot louder than ambient noise and does keep me awake. I don't have the earphones very loud and I can still hear the tinnitus over the top of of it. It just distracts me from the tinnitus. I can't hear your tinnitus sound but can hear all the others. Thanks for the content.
Hey Mo, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Headphones are a great idea to keep you distracted. I hope that you manage to stay ontop of it. Matthew
Am the same as you. All I could is the sound of crickets in my ear
@@franciscaoluku5245 awful isn't it. I'm a bass player and its worse after a gig. I'm also very sensitive to people talking and laughing loudly around me. My tinnitus is worse after situations like that I use "calmer" earplugs in noisy situations and have found they do help a bit.
Please provide samples of the sounds which you advise as needing immediate physician attention. As a kid into adulthood I would hear a pulsing sound when I turned my head as if I were looking over a shoulder. It sounded much like an owl “who who who”. Now I have just straight up tinnitus the screeching type. It was a tad alarming to hear you say a pulsing sound was of concern! Obviously at 63 yrs old the little owls that I heard for so long we’re not what you were talking about, but if I still heard them I’d be a bit panicked. Thank you for sharing your insight about tinnitus. You are improving the quality of many lives.
I learned this in sixth grade anatomy. There are tiny hairs in the cochlea that get stimulated with sound. That stimulation then goes to the brain. I have tinnitus predominantly in my left ear. In 1995 as an adult, I got mononucleosis, and for a year and a half was plagued with one infection after another, one of which went into my ears. What happened to me is that I had liquid mucus buildup behind my eardrum. To an ENT doctor, my eardrum felt like a brick wall. There was no motion. And, in the middle of my infection, I could not hear out of that ear at all. He ended up piercing my eardrum to drain the build up of mucus. Later, another ENT blew a white powder with a straw into the hole created by the eardrum piercing, and voila -- he cured the infection. Later they remove the little plastic tube that they put in my eardrum for drainage. He told me that the eardrum would seal itself and I suppose it did. Now what I’m left with is a bunch of dried fluid around a certain few hairs inside my cochlea, which prevent those particular hairs from being able to receive certain pitches. Additionally, they are gooped down with dry mucus, which causes the tinnitus. My cochlea needs cleaning. But how does one clean inside a cochlea? This will cure tinnitus and if you can figure out how to clean it, then you will have a cure for tinnitus.
I got a tonal tinnitus with some buzzing on the background, both in my right ear since 2017. At that time i was súper stressed , both ears infected , and also messing a lot with earsticks. It could had been a mix of everything. I guess it was the infection, my right ear was literally leaking to the point i used to wake up in the morning over a wet pillow

So I had a very strange story. I am 28 years old and I am usually a person who goes to concerts pretty often, I did not had any problems in the past and I always stayed in front so it did not affected me, untill one day .Ive been at a concert and unlike the other concerts, this one really shook me off, and after that i had some hearing problems. For 6 weeks, I had a mild tinnitus and my ears felt like they were clogged. But after that the Tinnitus went away. For another month, a I had some hearing problems, I felt like I was hearing better, but I had trouble understanding voices in crowded places. When I went to gym, i heard the music very well, but the people around me, not so well. By the end of the second and a half month after that concert, my hearing improved almost to the point at which I was before. I went one day to the gym, and noticed that I can hear the music again, only as background music, and the main sound that went into my ears, were the people around speaking clearly. I dont know how the miracle happened, as I read that acoustic trauma never heals usually.
Lesson learned. Take care of your ears, wear ear plugs in noisy areas, and stop feeling invincible.
One thing that I want to tell is that my eyes have Strabismus, and my nose has Deviation of Septum. I was never able to smell, and my eyes are not that good compared to an usual person. But the hearing I had was always my best strength. So during that almost 3 months when I had hearing problems. I felt like all my hope went away, but fortunately I regained my hearing and that really made me happy.
Hey Victor, thank you for sharing your advice and story for others to learn from. Matthew

My tinnitus is a combination of tonal, tea kettle, buzzing, static and screeching.
The loudness is such that i have trouble understanding people when talking to them.
It is louder than most ambient sounds, like being next to a running fridge for example.
Thanks for the feedback poptart! Matthew
I use refrigerator humming as a volume reference when people ask about it, actually, and have a similar issue with deciphering speech. It's an unfortunate sort of comradery, but it's a bit comforting to know that it's not too atypical. Thanks for taking a moment to share.

I wonder. What if a person did a meditation on it and focused right in there. It might diminish.
I'll try that, it works on other injuries.
Mine I can live with, but yours is a trial.
I'd say my tinnitus is a cross between buzzing and electric. I've had it since I was a kid, now age 68, it's gotten worse in the past couple years. I just got tested for hearing loss and ordered hearing aids.
Couple of them, I have a constant hum like an engine running in my head never stops, sometimes I feel the vibes from this.
My tinnitus is tonal sounding in both ears. There are days where is sound is low and then it will get extremely loud no matter what I'm doing. Most nights my tinnitus is so loud in my ears to where I cannot sleep. I was in the Army for 14yrs, from '82-'96 and I even had tinnitus while I was active duty.

I can't hear the first "Tonal" sound but that is the closest description of what I experience. My best guess is that it was caused working on a flight line refueling aircraft back in the 70's. I'm lucky that I can ignore it or mask it by listening to music or audiobooks.
The first tone you played is the same as mine mixed with cicadas but I also suffer from middle ear myoclonus which is much worse. It causes irregular clicking and thumping sounds in my ears.
Hey TT. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
TT mine also sounds like cicadas wearing work boots!!!
That is also the sound my boiler makes. Idk how you guys do it. I only have to deal with it when the heat goes on
This is Sarah again I just want to say my sound is like a tea kettle and a pause beat. When I had high blood pressure it was louder but my blood pressure is under control. The sound is just lesson and my memory is really getting away from me, I read a lot to try to keep it but I'm really in order to sleep I have a calm app and I listen to rain, or thunderstorms, or a Bible story.....I Praying that you can help me with this.
Hey Sarah, thanks for the update. It sounds like you’re doing the right things! Keep it up and stay positive, Matthew
Mine sounds like the high pitched sound of electricity and only in my left ear, sometimes louder sometimes I don't hear it when there's other noise, but in the night when I go to bed it's always a challenge to fall asleep with all that screeching.
I also have the constant high-pitched tonal form. I've had it since I was a child and have lived with it for about 25 years now. I think it has been so long that my brain will 'tune' itself out of hearing the frequency unless something like electric static noise brings it to the front or if I'm trying to sleep in a very quiet room.
I could not hear the Tonal sound but if I was to describe my tinnitus I would describe it as a tone heard constantly that sometimes changes in intensity.
Hey Duffy. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
Mine is pulsatile. Sounds like my heartbeat. Was only in the evenings now it's constant. Been to the doc and they just sent me out with a "decongestant" that did jack all. Congested for a full year, was I? I'm so frustrated at dealing with this awful medical system. They have established there is fluid in my inner ear pushing onto my eardrum causing the noise. Ok. But for a year? That's obvs some kind of infection not that they'll do anything to resolve it :(
Must keep badgering them. I hate not being able to sleep properly :(

8kHz tone in the center of my head that follows my heartbeat and a quiter 2kHz constant tone in the right ear.
When the "tonal tinnitus" sound played I heard NOTHING! I heard all the other sounds. I even turned up my volume all the way and wore earphones, still heard nothing. I guess that means that THIS is the sound in my head?? Doesn't bother me much unless I think about it, and it doesn't seem to affect my hearing. I have tonal tinnitus 24/7 for the past ten tears. One day at work back in 2013 I leaned back in my chair to stretch and I heard a sound like a scratchy phono plug for a second being plugged then a tonal tinnitus. It stopped after a few hours. Then a few days later I was leaning back in my chair again and heard the same scratchy sound for a second before the tonal tinnitus started up which has been with me ever since. If I clench my molars together then the tinnitus appears to increase in volume depending on how much pressure I use to clench from lowest volume to highest volume. The only injury I had around that time was a pinched nerve in my neck six months earlier with treatment from a physiotherapist who used a TENS machine on my neck.
For me, I never saw it as a problem. Mine sounds like a strange haunting but calming symphony of wind instruments and continous metallic tones. Thats the very reason why i'm searching up what tinnitus sounds like because none of these videos show what I'm hearing!
Mix between
Tea Kettle
Buzzing
Screeching
For me.. since I was a kid
Hey Dallas, thanks for taking the time to feedback! Matthew
How have I not realized this? I've dealt with tonal tinnitus my whole life and just thought everyone "heard" it
Mine just started 3 days ago while I was sitting on the couch with my wife. I’ve had it come and go for like 5 seconds for years and years now every few months but it’s never stayed. This time it hasn’t gone away. It’s a very constant low tone buzzing noise (tonal) its the high pitched electrical noise. I can’t stop thinking about it. I only used to hear it when I was plugging my ears with my fingers. I thought it was the sound of what silence sounded like. Now it’s loud enough to be heard every day. It’s making me feel like I’m going crazy. Every night before bed I get anxious and panicky knowing that I’m going to hear this all night. I have a noise machine and it helps but it never goes away. I’m scared it’s going to drive me crazy and drive me to do something I’ll regret.
Im a teenager, and I never listen to music loudly, and rarely ever wear headphones or earbuds. Within the past week my ears have been randomly ringing like the first one, tonal, in one ear at a time and I just have to wait for it to stop. However, when it is very quiet I hear what sounds like brown noise, but even today as im writing this comment it is nighttime, and ive heard the tonal sound about 3 times in each ear. It lasts anywere from 10-20 seconds, and its like I can't hear anything else except for it. Now sitting here in the quiet room though, I can hear the brown noise.
Hey Lauryn, thank you for sharing your story. I hope that you manage to cope. Matthew

Hi Wizard, check out my Tinnitus video here ua-cam.com/video/0t8PY5JhSYY/v-deo.html
My tinnitus sounds like 100 cicadas in both ears 24/7, nothing like the 7 common tinnitus you described.
Hey Dory, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. These are just the Top 7 as described by the American Tinnitus Association. Tinnitus can appear in unlimited forms. Thanks for watching, Matthew
Me too
Interesting. That's exactly how I desctibe mine.
My Tenison sound like tea kettle sound, started about 6 years ago I'm 78 and retired I don't hear well out of my left ear anymore and my memory is getting worse. Please Help!
When I am in outside I couldn't notice my tinnitus but when I'm alone I heard it again specially when I going to sleep.
I think I either have tonal or roaring but the biggest thing is I hated listening to all those high pitched sounds. That one thing I’ve noticed with mine is I’m more sensitive to high pitched sounds much more sensitive and when I hear these sounds it makes the ringing worse
Tonal, please save me from this 😭
Hey AS, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I hope that you manage to get some respite. Matthew
Mine is kind of a combination of tonal and tea kettle and screeching; only it is intermittent and more like a high frequency electric cricket chirping that is non-stop. I have learned to sort of tone-it-out. But when it comes to my attention again, it is enormously annoying. I wish I could just have one quiet day where it didn't sound like I lived camping in an eternal night. I hope the rest of the video has some useful information for me.
I have had tinnitus ever since I remember. I hear it when it's silent. In the past loud noise would trigger it specially at night. Now I'm 58 years old and hear it all the time and loud noise will make it louder and trigger vertigo. It sounds like kettle hissing. It worsens at midday and I normally need to lie down until the dizziness gets better. I have had check ups with ent doctors and my hearing is really good the level of an 18 year old I was told.
Thank you. Mine is a forrest line, from which I hear crickets, tree frogs and katydids. God Bless and stay safe.
Mine is like a higher pitch cricket field on a warm day when there is no break in the sound.
Probably the most common.
At 2:22 you mentioned certain types of tinnitus that has me pretty concerned. A few months ago I started hearing a sound in my ear that is pulsating with my heartbeat only with my left ear. It started around the same time when I started having a lot more stress at work. Im only 31, not overweight and I have no chronic health conditions. Overall I’m pretty healthy. But I was in the army for 7yrs and have some hearing loss from that. What kinds of things would cause what I’m experiencing just in my left ear?
I also have the same problem
I also have the exact same problem, my doctor listened and he couldn’t hear it so I was
told it’s “nothing serious”
I mainly hear a ringing sound and if I put my head down for I long time I start to hear a whooshing noise and it makes it quite hard for me to get to sleep, im 12 years old and I have Been to the chemist a while ago, he said that it might be related to a blocked nose or something, my mum has brought the oil he told us to get but I haven’t gotten around to it yet and I keep asking my mum if we can do what the chemist told us to do but she keeps forgetting and I keep forgetting and idk what to do and I’m starting to worry that it’ll get worse, the ringing noise has already gotten a little louder
2019, I was involved in a car ccident now almost 4 years later, I still have ringing in my ears, had all kinds of tests, and 2 doctors recommended hearing aids . I've been fighting with insurance company since August 2022, and they won't give me them
For the last few day, I experienced a roaring sound. My doctor said there is nothing to worry about. Too much wax build up led to this in my left ear
It's constant tonal tinnitus (just a tiny bit more flat) for me but every so often it intensifies out of nowhere for about 5-20 seconds.
I have just started with hearing loss and pulsatile tinnitus. GP is sending me for a scan.
Hey Julie, that’s the best thing that you can do for now. Thanks for the heads up and good luck, Matthew
Definitely have tonal. In fact it was hard hearing your example because it sounds just like what I'm hearing.
I have the same as you, if I had any of the others I don't think I could cope!
I just had a tonal tinnitus earlier. Lasted for about 20seconds. It’s been so long since I had the last one.
Tonal. Sometimes all of a sudden there's a loud beep sound in my ear, besides the tonal sound (should be the same) it's just louder and lasts for a few minutes before returning to the usual tinnitus sound.
When you played what yours sounded like, I couldn't hear anything. The other samples were nothing like what I have dealt with for over 45 years. It's a LOUD tone in both ears. Same tone in both ears, but totally separated. Very high pitched, but always changing.
I often have a blocked feeling in my ears which cannot be un-blocked through popping, in addition to the tinnitus. The blocked feeling is actually the worst part. There is also sensitivity to sound. Wondering if others experience these symptoms with their tinnitus.
I've been having those symptoms for the past 2 months. I have slight tinnitus in my left ear but it fluctuates from time to time. Right now now my ears seems to feel unbalanced. I have this weird sensation of blockage and I hear things a different frequencies that causes me to feel off. The interesting part is when I move my head left or right, or tilt it to either side my ears start to act up as of moving my head triggers some kind of unbalanced in both my hearing. I can't figure it out. Went to get blood drawn and everything is fine so far. I have a physical with my doctor and hopefully he has an answer. But my appt. is 2 weeks away. The worse part is when I pay attention to my hearing it seems to get worse. Maybe because I get anxious and start to get anxiety, the symptoms worsen? But the worst part for now is that I'm losing sleep, staying up all night thinking about my hearing condition. It's just hard for me to get into details with how my hearing and my ears feel, not knowing what's really the cause.
Yes.. I'm sensitive to sound. I feel like it makes it worse. All I hear is the sound in my head and then all the other sound around me and it's overwhelming at times.
Mine is as high pitched as yours, but it started as crickets, as if they were in the room with me. I'd hear it in the winter too, so no real crickets. My Tinnitus can also be described as the sound you hear in the train rails when the train is close by. Or even a high pitched alarm. I can block it out or better said 'forget' it, but when it's supposedly quiet and I focus on it, yes that can drive me crazy. Good luck to everyone having it 🙏🏻🌀🤞🏻
#1 is close to what I have. Mine sounds exactly like tuning forks, it does change pitch from time to time. I’ve had this condition in both ears probably since 2010. My tinnitus is 24/7.
Hello, I'm a homemade sound engineer so I've been learning a lot about sound and the way it works. My tinnitus sounds like a normal static sound but in a higher frequency than the one you showed, and the think that confuses me that it is not from both ears but it feels like it's coming from some place, so for example I hear it on the right ear but if I turn my head right or down I start hearing in at the left ear. Do you have any idea about this one ?
Im tonal . Both ears same tone although this week my right ear is kind of block so the sound is full volume and unignorable. I do however also suffer pulsating and definitely follows the thud of my heartbeat. If my ears are blocked (i get it alot) the pulsating is very loud aswell as the tonal but also when stress or upset the pulsating sounds like drums .. I do have CPTSD and although mentally doing ok the physical effects are quite significant. My body has been armoring forever with incredible tension through my neck and shouders which causes constant headaches, knotted lumps , sometimes arm tingling and numbness. Also I have unknowingly had my jaw clenched super tight "forever" causing me know to have cracked and broken almost every tooth leaving me with severe dental issues.
I believe these things and my tinnitus are all related to the effects the long term trauma had on my body and hopefully I will find a way to maybe be free of or at least have a more bearable tinnitus one day.
It sounds like it coming from the left side of my ear. The high pitch sound. One pure tune
Screeching and the one that match my heart beat
Tonal, just like the example you gave for yours... I almost couldn't tell you were playing a sound 😂 24/7, for as long as I can remember, no matter how much noise is around me or if I'm actively listening to something
How are you dealing with it?
Through your videos I have found that my tinnitus is as combination of about three oscillating pitches that are very near 80000Hz with a static background. I’ve had it for about 30 years and been told there is nothing that can be done about it.
I’ve gotten used to my tinnitus after having this for five years now there is really nothing you can do about it so you just have to live with it it really it’s not that bad once you get used to it.
Hey Rita, I’m pleased to hear that you’ve found your way of coping and have shared that it is possible! Thanks for watching, Matthew
Mines a mix between tonal and screaming but it only really becomes noticeable after loud noises or when it’s completely silent and it’s not too loud as of right now
Tonal in both all the time every day louder when quiet, difficult to focus, better when outdoors, when tired it’s worse.
I remember I used to have the screeching type of tinnitus when I was a kid. It was only noticeable when everything else was silent. At some point in my life it went away. Occasionally I get a high pitch tone that one last for one second and then goes away. (Occasional as in, never more than once a day, often several days apart, sometimes even months or years apart). I just had it a few minutes ago which prompted me to look for this video.
I got tinnitus September 2022, sounds very much like the tinnitus you had. I think it’s around 6-7k hz. Constant 24/7
Mine sounds like a telegraph on right ear, after months waiting for my appointment to see a otolaryngologist, he laughed and said I was fine and here I am. It is driving me crazy.
Hey Yomaira, I’m sorry to hear that and hope that you manage to get some respite from it. Thanks for watching, Matthew
@@HearingTracker at least now I know what it is. Thanks for the information.
Tonal in both ears. Keeps me awake at night sometimes. During the tonal I heard nothing. My daughter confirmed that it was making a sound and that it's the most irritating sound ever. That could explain why I am irritable a lot. I absolutely hate loud places and loud people, so I had 4 kids 🥴 Sometimes when my kids yell my eardrums sound like a distorted speaker.
