I developed tinnitus after a corona infection. My ears were clogged, dysfunction of the eustachian tube and a weird clicking in my ears when I swallowed. I was sick for 3 weeks, but the ear dysfunctions remained. The worst 3 months of my life for sure. This video helped me sleep, but luckily my tinnitus is gone now. For anyone who is panicking right now and searching shit on the internet: don't do it, you'll only stress more about it and your tinnitus will get worse. Stress is your worst enemy. It CAN go away, it takes time (it can still go away after 6-12 months.) Believe me, I know it's hard I've been there too. Go for a walk, listen to music (not too loud), do the things you normally do. You can do this.

@@Someonelol999 Hi, I'm sorry this happened. Did you go to a specialist? Ears are very sensitive so I can't tell you if it will go away or not. There is a big chance yes, but you have to go to a specialist if you didn't already they can give you cortisone if needed. My advice would be to try and pick up your old life and try to ignore it, there is a correlation with your brain. If your brain thinks the sound is dangerous because of your anxiety about it it will only get worse. It's hard but you have to train your brain that the sound is neutral, some behavior therapy could help!

You have missed out on what is probably the main cause of tinnitus which is stretched muscle nerves in the neck and shoulders or somatosensory tinnitus. I have this form of tinnitus linked to a head forward position over a computer keyboard over a long period of time but it also refers to the current generation's use of mobile phones. Brazilian researchers found that unlike animals we have to turn our heads to pinpoint sounds. This results in a signal sent to the somatosensory nucleus where the signal is integrated before being passed to the cochlear sensory nucleus and onto the hearing center in the brain. When the neck muscles are overstretched the signal waveform is distorted and so that passed on to the cochlea is too causing the tinnitus sounds. In this form of tinnitus, habituation is difficult because, as I find, the sound changes frequently depending on which muscle(s) are affected and this often depends on exercise or sleep position such that in my case the tinnitus signal can either go away completely or become very loud. Typical I "hear" several sounds at once with one becoming dominant depending on which muscle nerve dominates. I have found a chiropractor is more useful than and ENT specialist.

It start slowly getting quieter and then shuts off as I do that.

Have persistent and continuous tinnitus for many years. Mainly a hissing / high frequency noise, but sometimes hums and noises like an engine running at idle. No issues on blood analyses. No hearing loss, but if sound frequency matches with tinnitus, I miss very low level high frequency sounds during audio tests. No healing over time. Went to ENT once, years ago. They did audio test, nothing revealed and he did not request further assessments. Thankfully, I am not obsessed / disturbed with the existence of tinnitus.

Ive had tinnitus for 5 years in both ears due to ear infection and noise exposure and my advice is don't let it get worse with the biggest offender being ototoxic medication which in my three experiences has made my tinnitus sharper, louder and rawer/ more piercing and, although after 2 - 3 months it subsided to a base/ manageable level, each time it failed to settle back down to what it was before taking the medication.
Second offender is sudden sharp loud noises which I have had quite a few of but never lasting damage/ always settled back down to what it was previously after 2 - 3 weeks, sometimes its only lasted hours then settled back down (I carry foam ear plugs to go out and if I'm going somewhere I suspect could be loud I also take ear defenders).
Second bit of advice is make sure that you don't have wax in your ears or near or on you eardrum as in my experience multiple times after getting wax out my tinnitus has become almost inaudible (wax removed via an ENT using manual extraction as apparently microsuction is too loud near the eardrum which can aggravate tinnitus). As well using distilled water ear drops put in a glass pipette bottle helps to remove ear wax.
I have experienced severe tinnitus in both ears for extended periods but as for my tinnitus now my left ear is pretty inaudible its only when I lay on the pillow is when it becomes louder and bothersome but I can sleep through it, however my right ear is mild/ moderate and when I lay on the pillow it becomes quite severe, although I can still sleep through it depending on how tired I am (I sleep with 9000Hz white noise and a fan).
The best way I can describe the tinnitus in my right ear when not laying down is by using audionotch's tuner on 9550Hz at 1% volume and computer volume at 24 although the tinnitus doesn't sound quite like that and its not as pronounced as the pure tone/ the tinnitus has more of a dispersed effect.

Im depressed because of this. About 7 months ago i got a sinus implant for time in my 22 years of life… after it eventually cleared up it left an annoying ringing in one ear with the other sometimes ring. My right ear (the one that rings) first went muffled then after I want to say a few days/ a week it went from being muffled to ringing, at that point i gave up on life. I had mental breakdown where all i could do was cry, then after 5 months after that it went lower to where it is now, but my ear hurts randomly fir a few seconds

I get loud tinnitus if I smoke weed. THC can temporarily cause it. If any other smokers are experiencing bad tinnitus, try having a break for some days and see if it stops. It starts as soon as I smoke and goes away by the next day if I don’t smoke again. My theory is the weed increases blood pressure in the head, causing the high pitch sound for many hours/rest of the day. I was thinking it’s a permanent lifetime issue until it went away when I had a break from smoking. It sucks to get it from smoking but I’m glad it’s not there if I’m not high. My concern now is if I smoke a lot it could become permanent.

Add to this a new cause in the past decade: LED light high frequency flicker. LED lighting most frequently uses cheap power conversion circuitry to convert AC line power into low voltage DC to dry the LEDs. This causes the LEDs to vary in light output at frequencies twice the mains power frequency (120 hertz in the US, 100 hertz in much of the world).
This high frequency flicker causes oscillation in visual signals sent to the lateral geniculate nuclei (LGNs) which extract edges from the visual field, and identify movement for the eyes to focus on. This all happens at speeds much faster than the flicker fusion limit for visual image formation, but is entirely neglected by most brain researchers and visual specialists who wrongly presume that all vision is visual scene formation, and who often are ignorant of the many wats the eyes, and many brain structures use and analyze information from the eyes.
Other brain structures like the superior colliculus and pulvinar are directly involved. And beyond tinnitus, this also involves the trigeminal nerve and pain in the eyes, behind the eyes, in the face, and in the lower jaw and molars.
For tinnitus, the high frequency flicker is "seen" by the LGNs as movement that they and the other aspects of the brain cannot localize. This then causes signals to be sent to the precuneus and on to the default mode network identifying unknown danger.
What happens next is speculative, but goes like this.
After failing to find the potential danger, the brain directs the Medial Geniculate Nuclei, and with the Inferior colliculi to instruct the ears to listen more closely for sounds to localize the sensed danger. Through several brain structures this results in the inner hair cells of the ear turning on previously disabled defective ('dead') outer hair cells. This is done despite the harm in order to best protect the body by maximizing the potential to localize the danger through sound.
There isn't an actual danger though to be found. And the result instead is very loud subjective tonal tinnitus, as the dead outer hair cells circuits "ring".
The brain keeps emphasizing the need to listen, and amps up the volume while adding more dead cells in the search. The result is an increasingly loud and climbing tinnitus.
Simultaneously, the DMN and other circuits fail. That results in optical migraines that progress quickly to total or partial temporary blindness, often followed by migraine headaches.
On removal of the flicker source (fleeing the LED light exposure), the body works to undo the harms it created. If the exposure was minot and brief, the tinnitus may fade into the background in an hour to days. More intense or longer exposure may require dats to weeks or even months, and may never fully resolve. The optical migraines will fade into about an hour, but the migraine may last hours to days until it resolves.
Repeated insults of exposure to the flicker worsen the injury.
Likelihood of impact and severity is dependent on nerve conduction speed. With IQs near 100, that results in sensitivity to ~60 hertz flicker. At High IQs, the risk moves to higher frequencies as the nerve conduction speed increases.
Optical flicker injury from LEDs is most likely to be most severe and most apparent in high IQ individuals.
However, the entire population is subject to a second impact where many of these same brain circuits lead to several types of headache from flicker up to about 5,000 hertz. This happens most commonly from dimmers using pulse width modulation, and all of the harmonics that generates.
And no, you will not find this in any single scientific study or reference. Also - no, this is not yet a scientifically or medically recognized injury.
And the related adverse impacts of intense blue light exposure from LEDs in sensitive individuals (~1-3% of the population) through at least three pathways involving most of these same structures, plus genetic differences associated primarily with Neanderthal or ancient hominim heritage from low light adaptation in the far north, also occur in many people. This too is not yet recognized by researchers or doctors other than in limited field reports and fMRI studies since 2017 elucidating the mechanisms involved in sensitive individuals.
These have largely been masked due to the simultaneous wide spread on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic causing brain injuries, and the severe impacts on health care and research.
We are only now seeing the companion impacts from blue light suppression of melatonin production on circadian and hormone rhythms, and the consequent rapid and severe rise in hormone sensitive cancers. The first being the rapid linear rise in the rates of breast cancers from the 2015 baseline. Expect those to reach 175% of the 2015 baseline in the next ~5 years (seen 3-5 years later in national data). Prostate, Gi and rectal cancers will follow, along with skin cancers.

However, my ringing became worse a few weeks ago and accompanied by a sensation of fullness and pressure. Doctor has told me that I may have Deniere disease. I had very low D a 12. Then they finally tested my Parthyroid and it was high 135 and my Calcium is a 9.5. Does anyone else have any pressure in their head? Or ears? I think I have tinnitus, it started my freshman year and now I’m a junior and up until yesterday I’ve been searching for an answer as to why I always hear a loud click sound when I swallow or eat. It would drive me crazy because I thought people could hear it. I was in a psychosis. I think it started from getting bad panic attacks when smoking 🍃, my anxiety would spike and my heart would beat fast kinda like a fight or flight response. I would still be chilling tho because I like smoking anyways it would calm me down, it was jus random bc something changed every time I smoked now. but what was weird was I would be so high that I’d forget to swallow because I was jus so lost in my thoughts lol that I would swallow manually but when I swallowed I heard this loud click and it kinda startled me cuz that wasn’t normal and I thought everyone could hear me do it but when I would look around to see if they had a reaction (my friends) they wouldn’t. But I thought they were jus ignoring it. I felt like an elephant in the room tho. I would ask them about it and they would be confused saying they never heard anything from me. That would just bother me even more because I thought they had, so it was a different answer than i expected, leaving me more confused and lost. After that I was stuck in a negative thought loop that everyone could hear me so like in school I would try to silent each swallow I took and the more I tried to focus on it the louder the click sound would become. And after one swallow I knew there would be another one soon so the anticipation would build making my anxiety worse. That’s all I would focus on to so I was mentally preparing myself for each swallow I took. I couldn’t confidently swallow either because I would be in a panic attack so I would gulp every time I had a “normal” swallow because i was nervous. It just made me feel like a weak person because I couldn’t even handle human interaction with having a slight panic attack. So for a while I was just depressed, lost, and felt outcasted. it got to a point that I just didn’t care anymore and decided to embrace it. I learned to not stress over what people thought abt me and put myself as my top priority. And when I started doing that I’ve been able to break out of that thought loop and find moments of peace in uncomfortable situations. Like taking deep breaths or focusing on my music. And when I did that I could finally swallow normal again. It took me a couple years to learn and overcome that tho. I sorta had an ego death and had to reconstruct my entire thought process it felt like. I’m much more at peace now with a positive outlook on life regardless of whatever happens, I still get anxiety spikes tho and become overstimulated very easy and when that happens the clicking comes back but I feel less pressure now after finding out a couple days ago that it could be tinnitus and those noises u hear are only in ur head, I jus wish I learned a couple years ago lol.

    • @ScarecrowNoH3art
      @ScarecrowNoH3art Місяць тому +1

I still smoke, I’ve learned how to control the panic attacks and use the 🍃 to calm me back down like how it used to. Ik everyone’s experience is different so I thought I’d share mine in hopes it can help someone who might be going thru something like this. Advice like this is exactly what I would’ve needed and was looking for couple years ago, but I could never find anything so I thought I was the only one. Regardless tho it felt good talking about it, I don’t talk abt it much bc people can’t really relate so maybe someone here will. Definitely changed me as a person making me more open minded and wise since I was constantly just searching or asking for advice from people with hopes I would hear something to help my current situation.

I found in my case my the ringing the ears is caused by a toxic HVAC system. When I turn on my A/C I am pulling in the air from the two apartments above me. If, I don't turn on the air, the ringing is 75% less. It is horrible, the previous tenants were heavy smokers, the lady above me uses Fragrance plug-ins. It is extremely loud level of ringing in both ears, these techniques do nothing for me. I am being poisoned, by the running of the HVAC system. I asked the neighbor twice, above me to stop using the fragrance. She has not stopped, I can hardly function because the ringing is so loud.

Stay away from loud noises or wear hearing protection when around such noises. Get hearing test (if hearing loss is present hearing aids may help) and utilize some sound therapy always played below tinnitus volume do not mask it except for sleeping if needed. Tinnitus takes time to adjust too…overtime it does improve and get easier for the majority of sufferers.

You've received excellent advice from @Andrew-pp2ql, but I'd like to emphasize the importance of protecting your ears from further damage. When there's already damage to the cells of the hearing organ, the goal should be to slow down the progression of this damage. Age-related changes will naturally occur at some point, but they can be accelerated by factors like noise damage, certain ear diseases etc. I recommend finding suitable hearing protection designed for specific situations. For example, there are special filtered earplugs for music, but you will require different earplugs (or earmuffs) when using loud tools that provide more protection.
