- Back to my famous gold claim "Pickerton". And of course we find the big gold it is known for. This time I bring my small high banker down and run some material from a few different spots I was hoping would have good gold. And one of those spot sure did!

Nice gold Dan. Did Tom tell you about the Persian dougnuts from Thunder Bay? I bought them another box for the trip home LOL. Reg and Tom ate 6 of them the night they stayed here on the way out to you, and they are not small LOL.
Reg gave me a container of the cons they got during their trip out there and it's FULL of fine gold. I've been using that material to teach my crews how to pan the tough stuff a few teaspoons at a time. We have a small vial with about 200+ little flakes and colours in it now with lots left to process.
Gold fever ❤
Dan, you earned my subscription 10 seconds into the first video I ever saw of yours, just by using the word “earned”. I really respected you for that and have loved every video you’ve posted. Many thanks and all the best. ✌️🇬🇧
Same. I subscribed because he actually asked politely. Have not had any regrets tho!
at 20:10 the yellow color of the lead is most likely from an antimony/zinc lead alloy lead likes to oxidize white but antimony or zinc makes it yellow out overtime
👋🏼
this was fun!
shout out to special guest reg!
👍
I always appreciate my moments on sundays to watch this. Makes me dream of gold, nature, and prospecting some day.
hello! I am currently in middle school! hi Dan! Dana Hart was one of my favourite teachers I am so sad she had to leave our school!! I understand why. Keep up the good work!! ❤
3.30am here in New Zealand. Yay for insomnia.
@ Reg labbe YO👊🏼 great to put a face with the name so jealous you got to prospect pickerton 🤩 congrats. Nice gold Dan and nice little high banker thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
This man’s energy is so infectious. Always makes me smile.
I know this is going to be another , great video, from Dan
Men at work: Don, Reg and Tom. What a wonderful journey. Good outdoors and finding them pickers.
Nice watching. Regards South Africa 🇿🇦.
Thank you for not disturbing moss en mass!! It's actually an incredibly important micro-ecosystem that supports the fundamental building blocks of life. Mossing on a large scale is actually really damaging to the environment. Thank you Dan❤
Moss fans rise up, all my homies love moss
The build ups as you film multiple days is really nice! It almost like new adventures. “The new day may be a golden one”
I would love to come out to one of your claims. I bought a pan and I've tried in Wisconsin. Not the greatest day. There is some gold but it's fine and very scarce. At the same time we workied the outer edge. Not the inner. But watching you has made me smarter. I hope we can go out together. Even if it's on the free river. Thanks Dan for all your insight. I find all of this so interesting. I love your videos. I am thinking of doing some paint videos. I do cars. I wetsand and buff scratches, most places won't do it. Because the don't want to be liable if they burn the clear. I've been doing it for around 25 years so, I have a unique skill.
Thanks Dan and Reg....
Love watching your video's it looks so great where you go looking for gold where you go for hours and hours having a great time looking great video Jim in the UK.
A very good location to find gold, the gold nuggets are very beautiful, gold fever all day long, greetings from traditional Indonesian gold miners 🇮🇩🤝⛏️⚒️💪👋👏👍👌
Another great video that caused my light bulb to turn on. Having seen many old workings and tunnels in my teens near by my Dad's mine (Cariboo) old picks, shovels, sluce boxes etc was seen. The main mode of transport in that time was a Jack Ass or a Pack Mule. It took a lot of time and strength to bring in what was needed to mine. No chain saws back then so timbers were cut by axe. The Old Miner who worked the claim before my Dad lived in town about 40 miles away from the claim. So it makes sense that once the equipment was at a working mine, why carry it back home every year when they were coming back the following year? So that could be why you may find old equipment?
Love it, thanks Reg, Dan.
Good to see Pivkerton and the Frasier! I think that's how you spell it. Love to watch Dan!
Thanks to Reg for moderating! And thanks to you for giving us some environmental information as you go - I love seeing the combination of care for the amazing place that you are and fascination with the geography of it! It also makes me more inclined to buy gems and such from you, since this way I know it's been gathered in a minimally impactful way!
Also, I assume you had some sorta light but a headlamp for those late evenings would probably be helpful!
Great job getting that Au fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
The hike you described makes me think the boar box would work well here if you had it ready to set up.
Hey Dan, nice to see you again. Lovely scenery as well.
Dan is the man! Thanks for always taking us along on your adventures :) your passionate and thoughdul apirit is infectious!!
I always enjoy your content, so amazing and I love learning more about Geology! 🙌
Some beautiful footage today....... and gold!!!
These videos are so comforting to watch, makes me happy and itches my gold fever!
WOW love pickerton vids. Also nice to see Reg Lab ..lol
Wow that first clean out pan! That looks so nice.
❤❤❤ ty Dan cheers from Squamish
Dan Hurd , happiest prospector on you tube. Thanks again Dan.
Good fever must be real. The fact that you can stare at it and just be awed even if it’s 1.34g definitely legitimizes the term “gold fever” in my book. I’ve never prospected or chased gold but if I did. I’m sure I’d catch gold fever too. They say it’s impossible not too!
Good job Dan. Always enjoy your channel and watching your luck brings picking.
Thank you for looking after the environment as well!! Happy Prospecting!!
The wild flowers add that certain, je ne sais quoi to the shot. I love it 😻
saludos desde venezuela, directamente del pueblo minero de el callao, estado bolivar, sigo todo tus videos, son increibles
I truly appreciated the
slow-mo very much. I thought it was a great new effect. I liked it.❤
Thanks for these videos, I also live in BC! Always been interested in rock hunting
Hi Reg! It's nice to finally have a face to go with the name on Sunday mornings! Thanks for another great video Dan
Great job, guys.
Pickerton looks like a great place for a goldrush-nugget-bucket, given the terrain and the fact in past videos you've mentioned that it's a bit of a hike to get down there, lugging a highbanker and a gas pump seems like a pain....might be worth looking into a nugget bucket
Greetings from the BIG SKY. Pickerton rocks. Lots of gold, no 'pickers' in that pan.
Ever thought about getting a few folks together someplace where you can harvest some serious gold to help to pay for rebuilding your little camp that burned down ???? Bout 4 or 5 volunteers on a little weekend trip might net you some descent gold to go a long way in doing just that...Thanks for the adventure, stay safe, be well...
Looking good Dan looks like your feeling well and gold looks good be safe
I remember that rusty lead from the illegal sluice that you found. That looks very similar.
nice gold thank you for sharing the adventure and information 😅.
Dan i always enjoy you vedios. You akways make is fun watching you even when you do not get a picker. I always like it when you find gold with that whoowho you do.
You're doing some amazing work out there.
I would love to see you and Jeff Williams do 2 videos together. One where he comes up to do gold hunting in your area. I would like to see the other video where you do gold hunting in his area.
One day I hope to pan for gold. That would be on my bucket list. It's fun watching
Told my sister about your channel and she fell in love . Both of us are rock crazy and retired and would love to go hounding with you some time . Thanks !
Just love watching you Dan
Have you ever seen the videos of the back country hiking tour companies that use goats to pack gear? It is amazing how ordinary farm goats can scurry over rocks and logs while wearing saddle bags. If you ever find a claim and think, "That claim looks interesting, but there is no way I could pack equipment in there" you might consider borrowing some goats.
Wow, you filmed this on my birthday, August 12th and not telling you the year,Lol!!
Best wishes and kindest regards!!
It would be cool if you could talk about the geology of the rocks where you were. I've not seen what looks like the flat vertical rocks before. And the rocks look kinda blue?
It is just a vertical shale, I talked about it LOTS in another video from this site.
Ok you gold picker love it. Have a task for you when you get bored ! Gather a Black Light (think posters...) and a Sterile lamp (barbers use them) [ electric supply companies] and the Barbars is danger to eyes !!! It is short wave UV and Black light is Long Wave. Job is Luminescence of Minerals - I have a Geological Survey Bulletin 1052-C 1958 (US Printing office) 157 pages. But back to work - Look at your site at night and see if gold bearing glows ! Might be green or red but might stand out. Might be the host rock that indicates that has gold or silver in rocks... Have my copy and lamps for over 50 years ! Long time rocker. Martin
Another great vid Dan as always and regs keep up the great work man and don't worry buddy, theirs a huge nugget at pickertin waiting for you I'm confident
Always enjoy your videos amigo
Nice work of gold and nice video
Wonderful friend, excellent adventure, your gold is beautiful 🎉🎉🎉
Yet another good video, worth hitting the like button before it's really started!
I wonder if a longer run of mats in a high banker would catch more gold?
I would absolutely love to come pan Pickerton! Don't even want to keep anything, just want to get the experience!
I guess if you check the high banker after every tank of gas you will have an idea if it's worth the gas money or not. Love the content as always! Much love and goo luck to you all❤❤
Nice gold sir thank you for sharing this six stars
DAN, YOU SHOULD… ignore the peanut gallery and keep doing your own thing; it’s brought you this far!
Thanks for the great content. Stay safe & keep it up.
Exactly!
The slow mo was cool.
Man i love Pickerton videos!
I wonder if during curtain parts of the year and water level if a jet boat wouldn't be a good option to carry supplies to the site. I noticed some areas where the boat could be beached and tied off. Just a thought!
Dan,
Get yourself a small digital angle gauge (used for woodworking) to help get your sluice angle dead on.
Just a thought.
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
You should try to get a pan from the tailings to see if it was the spot or the box
20 minute steep hike? That's what children are for!
Awesome video Dan! I really want to go to Pickerton soon ❤❤❤ but we have some deadfish gold to get! Watch for us soon everyone as we embark on a gold journey into no Pans land
😎👍
Nippics r fun to find just a pain because there picky lol
We don't come for the camera work, it's good just to share your joy.
I felt that a little tweaking on the highbanker would have given you a lot more gold.
Here we go!
Bears are scary but it's the big kitties that scare me 😉
Why not pan some of the material that went off the end of the sluice? That might be where the pickers are.
Nice Video - Love the Frazer! But I wonder, do they allow you to haul your gear in by kayak, etc? Would that allow you to haul in a bigger sluice, pump and fuel, etc.?
What about flushing the moss and collecting what comes out?
Could you run a metal detector over your tillings to double check the pickers weren't blowing out?
Hey Dan, was that you at the Lilooet Fish Ladder saving those migrating salmon? I think I saw you on Global News at 6 pm today Saturday Oct 7 passing them up the bank. Great job sir !!!!!
Hi from Arkansas Dan! Just want to say I enjoy your channel, you're funny, informative, and entertaining. You're videos make me want to go dig up some dirt and wade thru some shallow water! Doubt I'd find any here in arkansas tho, lol. 😂
...gold that is lol...we do have plenty of regular ol dirt 😂
Dan, next time it’s that dark, just bump up the exposure on your camera and tape it to your face. Boom 💥Nightvision
Wow.... super
Dan! You should have done this, that and the other thing!!!!
Keep going
Hi Dan, Newfoundland here. Question; At 8;30 or so you are pointing at the crevice you were talking about. I notice the river bend and that you are in a high-pressure zone. Is that correct or is it just the camera angle. If so, and you are getting good gold I wonder what is on the other side of the river in the low-pressure zone.
My guess was 7 pickers. Wow!
I hope there are 20 pickers!
😂🧨💥idea: get 10 highbankers at Pickerton! 2/3 of gold goes to rebuild the camp!
We live kinda in the city. I would love to spin a pan with you. Truthfully i believe that I would just like to sit by the river all day. Thanks again Dan.
just to ask have you ever thought about replacing the gas powdered generator for a solar powered generator ? or is it not feasible
Dan, you should do this or that or the other thing.
Good pickens
A dream of getting up ther .
Haven't gotten anywhere for more than two years. After hospital and dialysis dialysis beginning..
Much healthier now .. I do home dialysis sixty five hours a week.. Still go ride my BMW some Days..
Just need A partner Or 2 and? Get out there and find the gold.. I'm surprised you don't have a pinpoint or metal detector in your pocket there.?? I think you'd move a lot less empty materia..🙏🙏
I was when you were hiking out I was just thinking I wonder if there are bears when you observed you Iv'e seen fresh bear droppings. Its something I've always wondered, are bears not a risk? you seem so calm and unfazed in the forest. Here in Australia we have a few spiders and snakes but no apex predators so bush walking is totally safe.
