@@ThoseRedLights ok
@@ThoseRedLights why the fuck are you answering everyone with the same shit? Nobody cares, if he has a better project, good for him, we are happy, but Dylan did it too, he leaves that hate And instead of spending time criticizing others, spend your time supporting your talented friend
@@ThoseRedLights wym did Dylan copying that person project or????
Deleted his comment XD
I'm just surprised how no one did that already.
Talk about bringing the music producers community together, Dylan's doing it all!
What's next? Converting Reaper to Excel?

don't give him that idea
and that's how you create a monster
As far as i know Reaper has Python support so with proper scripts you can do whatever you want. :)

Yes
Once it’s at a good stage yeah. Still might be impossible to reach a solid place though.
Exactly 🔥
Not really, a lot of people use many stock plugins in both fl and ableton so it's a pain in the ass
yep pretty much everyone just uses fl or able now
Updates since the video: The fader volume has been fixed, plus there is now support for VST3 and AU plugins!
I also made a "downgrader" to go from Ableton 11 to Ableton 10 (or 9)

You're a legend, a hero. You have united the two seperate kindgoms of Fruity Loops and Ableton into one, and have created peace among the two kingdoms.
That's true
Now that the prophecy has been fulfilled
It's time to do what we had to do
Kids, take notes. This guy is doing what I’ve invested 4 years and tens of thousands of dollars into to learn, and he’s doing it on his own time from home. Completely unrelated, but take a year off after high school to think about what you really wanna do for a career and see if you can go that route without going into debt and wasting time on classes you don’t need. I’ve loved my college experience, but in the long run it isn’t worth it when the skills can be taught more efficiently. Don’t make the mistake I did
The American debt model should die already
Golden comment right here
The real question is if you can be motivated enough to learn stuff yourself and not become a failure. Uni's kinda better in that regard.
@@ivandesiatov8842 This is the biggest downside of not doing college, you have to be honest with yourself about your abilities and work habits. If you take this route you need to be motivated and disciplined enough not to lose focus and waste time. With university there is a structure already in place so it's easier to stay on track.
@@tomasgulbinas8304 yeah, college is especially nice if you're in Europe. And not even from there, but the government still pays for your education, and even pays you some money for good grades and stuff
nobody:
dylen: soooooo that thing that actually was impossible, I fixed that, now you can
This is insane. I have multiple personalities, but one of my personalities can use Ableton but can't use FL, and the other can use FL but not Ableton. This will make for a great collab.
i was smoking salvia because there was no weed and helping this dude set up fruity loops, which i didn't use.
we were trying to figure out where the fuck to enter sequences and this little orange drum machine grew out the side of something.
i figure you'd need a whole separate personality to deal with that retarded shit. i got a whole list of asshole vst developers who do features like that because they are dicks.
Cool to see another artist with DID
I asked myself if he wanted to collaborate with me, but he hasn't replied.
The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural.
when your meme composer becomes a fully fledged software developer. but seriously thats a game changer
I like to think Dylan is on the other side receiving all of our project files and converting them manually 😶
For real though, this is great and I hope you keep working on it!
lmao
I am a developer wanting to add value to music production. Your video has shown me that a LOT can be done within the project files. In the next 6 months, I'll have something I'd like you to use and see :)
Good luck with that, dude!!
@@cloudscape5996 Thanks a lot mate!
i'm a 51 year old vst developer (xoxos) in 2005 my studio was stolen and i won an awesome optic implant (removed three years later, when i left the u.s. on an emergency passport) while the kvr folks destroyed my reputation. don't ever waste your time with the music industry. its for controlling people, in ways more advanced than you can discern. you'll waste years of your life, the only reward will be your personal effort and whatever you learn about why humans are so shitty these days. they'll let you live to witness how much of the people around you they can control.
@@atomictraveller That's horrible. I can't imagine this happening to anyone. I don't have knowledge about the inside of the music industry, but I'm sure I'm about to find out. Maybe it's easier for musicians than developers who make the software for them. In any case, I feel sorry for all that happened to you...
This is honestly one of the coolest music programming things I've ever seen.
Cool to see you here.
What's next? A software that takes samples from your sample library and makes a full beat in ableton/fl with all the arragement, mixing and mastering done?

not gonna lie I had my doubts going in....But it ACTUALLY worked! Like, really really well. You're a beast Dylan!!
Unbelievable work! Congratulations on being the first person to invent something that has been needed by so many producers! 🎉😎
Dylan just ascended from human to messiah
let's stand aside and look,
some say its just a part of it, we've got to fulfill the book
Holy crap, the Hamster Dance. I haven't heard that in 20 years.
This is actually a very cool gadget. But obviously it would be difficult to replicate exactly the same sounds in all the project, so I think people wouldn’t like to do this, instead they will just leave the project in their origin platform. Maybe people would do it if they are just beginning the project and they want to transfer the base of the project to Ableton, but they would not transfer a whole finished project, so, in conclusion, I think there’s very few people that would actually want to try this. I’m also a programmer and I also like to make music in my free time, so I understand it is very cool to do this kind of gadgets from which you can learn a lot, so keep going bro, because whatever you do in programming isn’t actually a waste of time.
holy shit, this is amazing, I can't believe I lived for so long without it. THANK YOU. btw I got premium and noticed that (as you said) it didn't convert the parametric EQ settings to EQ eight for most projects but I converted this very recent project I have and it was literally the only one that transferred all the data from parametric to EQ eight. One thing I have never liked about ableton is that it sounds duller/darker even if most people say that's not true, FL sounds brighter and clearer, I have been saying that forever and this just confirmed it to me.
EDIT: Just like you describe I've found that converting ZIP files makes it easier to keep the samples in sync.
You are my hero, when can we get married?

The way you've done this is amazing! Great work
This is where Ableton emails Dylan like...."dude....so sorry....we've made this...and its finished....coming out in the next patch..."
I love seeing you click around on the components. I'm a front-end developer myself and I can totally relate: I love clicking on the buttons and features that I've made, especially for passion projects. It's obvious that you're super proud of the work you've done, and rightly so. Keep it up.
Thats crazy! Thanks for making collabs easier!
"Don't suggest that as a possibility, because I might do it"
Dylan, why don't you try to make many different samples out of a sample to account for multiple warp markers? ;D
:))))
why don't you just mess around with a FFT implementation yourself and stop asking dylan?
Finally ableton producers can put their hands on the fameous FREE FLPS
This is mind blowing!
You're genius man
Now I can ask for a collab and still get rejected but with Jukeblocks!
Next project, serum presets to vital
Man, you're a legend and you keep proving it at every video
This is absolutely incredible! Wtffffff. Dude, this is revolutionary.
3:51 - FL *does* have looping! Right click the button beside the drop-down in the channel rack and select Advanced Looping. That lets you individually set the loop length on every channel in that pattern. Would it be possible to translate Ableton's looping into that?
Hrm, yeah I was thinking a similar thing. FL's looping features are also accessible directly from within the Piano Roll itself (without requirement for any channel rack settings).
Perhaps, the two looping implementations are just too different between FL and Ableton right now to do a straight conversion between them? Dylan's workaround was pretty inventive however.
I don't understand how someone can have such an understanding of DAWs, music itself, and coding.......
Like how bro? Just how?
as a programmer and a musician, I could say this wasn't impossible. it was just very hard, and I'm just too lazy.
it involves disassembly of FL studio save file and Ableton, extreme knowledge about how both works and ... yeah just to explain it, I lost my words.
this is work of God himself.
Dude this is AMAZING
what are you??
I'm studying software engineering and I didn't even think this was possible
You're my hero
I appreciate the efforts you've taken to bridge the gap between DAWs. It's a really cool idea to be able to work with whatever you're most comfortable with while still being able to work with other people. Great work!
That's actually a game changer for me, damn
Truly impressive! Well done. I wonder if this converter could also possibly be adapted to make .flp projects saved from newer versions of FL Studio also compatible with older versions of FL Studio? Not an issue I have personally, but one I have seen requested on the FL Studio Reddit, by many other users of FL Studio 10, 11 and 12 etc.
Hi Dylan, Just here to say a massive THANK YOU! You have saved me days of agonising work rebuilding my current Ableton 11 Session within Ableton Live 9 for someone I'm working with running old software. What is this Witchcraft! Mad mad respect!
Woah, thank you so much for the Super Thanks! Glad it helped you :)

I have few questions though 😅
What if my plugin is in 32 bit in fl studio project? Ableton Live 10+ do not have 32 bit support
Will stock plugins will load up in converted versions?
I just checked with a 32bit plugin in FL Studio, and it opened up the equivalent 64bit plugin in Ableton!!
This does mean you'll need to have the 64bit plugin, so for some plugins that's not available.
Do you know if it still works when using jbridger in Ableton to get 32 bit vsts working?
@@finnkolja you'd have to use jBridger in the FL project too, since it saves the whole VST state not the one inside jBridge afaik
@@helyxmusic ah thanks for the reply, I didn't think of that
Great work! As a web developer, I spent the whole video running through how I think you did everything in my head :D

Finally! Ableton users can switch to the better DAW!
Dylan i really hope everything goes well with this insane project, just don't push yourself too harsh as good health is key xd. Also have you thought about adding the Waveform DAW in the jukeblocks song generator?? :>

damn the DAW companies should really get together and make a universal file format
They can't even make sure their old versions could load new projects and you want them to be able to load projects from different daws xD
