Joe Duplantier Has some of the most unique vocals in the metal world, they dont sound like it on the surface, they sound pretty cut and dry at first. When you really look at his vocals though, they are insanely clear, and he has a menacing sound while maintaining tone. The last point is where he stands out. It is insanely difficult to have tone while screaming or growling. He pulls it off on every song. Many if not most songs from Gojira, would absolutely be a different experience all together with any other vocalist. He really makes you feel it in your gut.
What a special album. I hope you do The Way of All Flesh next!
It’s on the list
This is what I consider to be the metal equivalent of “To Pimp a Butterfly” Both albums are filled to the brim with deep introspective metaphors
Ok so Gojira started as a death metal band nearly 30 years ago but with their own style ,this album in particular is considered as their magnum opus ...but now ..with the latest 3 albums , they became really a gateway for non metal listener with more melodic , clean singing atmospheric parts ..like the song "stranded " is their most radio friendly song with 25M or Silvera .not to mention it's one of the best metal band of all time and live nobody top them .pick any songs you can't go wrong.
Id recommend watching the live version of where dragons dwell at hellfest. Such a bangee.
I was 16 when my friend showed me Gojiras flying whales. I couldn’t stand death metal but this band actually got me into it. Seen them Live and I’m trying to see them again. Love this band
This album is very abstract and creative. If you're digging the heavier songs, the album "The Way of a Flesh" is one hell of a ride.
Also, lyrically this album is fantastic, especially "From The Sky"
Gojira's best album 🤘🔥🤘

Hello I'm a rap fan and I usually listen to rap music. Keep in mind that I typically listen to rap. Despite me listening to another genre I'd like to point out that my go-to genre is rap.
