  • This video shows you how I recessed the monitor in the A1up T2 arcade cabinet using an additional A1up monitor bezel. The monitor has been moved back 8 3/4" with the bezel itself 1" from the back K panel. Enjoy!

    I did something similar like this to my sit down Out Run Arcade 1up, but I used Fresnel lens pushed the 17” monitor back and added a plexiglass with a bezel in the front. The monitor looks 25 to 27” big now. It looks amazing!

    You could of just spray paint the wood black and kept the silver monitor metal frame expose as it fits the theme of the T2 bezel.

    Why didn’t Arcade1up put the monitor further back like this “officially” for the T2 and time crisis cabinets? It looks better and more like the original arcade like this

      I question a lot of things A1up chose to do with the design of these cabinets. I feel they wanted to tweak each cabinet just a little making it their own with their Arcade1up logo all over like the newer cabs today rather making an exact replica of original cabinet. I get it if that was their goal but man they missed the boat on this. They're the only 3/4 cabinet business out there and they are still just starting to make these cabs look more like original. Right from the start it should have been exact replica like new wave toys does. Oh well. For me that's what makes this hobby fun. Changing and adding stuff on to them to look better like original.

    I'm not going to do all that work. I'm just going to mount the metal monitor to the K panel with super strong two way tape.

    Do you have a measurement of the distance from the back of the side panel to the router grove?

    • @FROSTINATOR
      @FROSTINATOR  Рік тому

      I did this mod so long ago i never wrote it down. Did I say the measurements though in the video? I will say though the pcb is just before the K panel at back of cabinet. Like a 1/4 of an inch away from it, if that helps?

    To do the recessed mod do you have to purchase a new bezel to do the recessed mod or can you just mount the monitor back inside the cab?

    • @FROSTINATOR
      @FROSTINATOR  Рік тому

      You can definitely mount the monitor with out a bezel. I would buy at least 2 pieces of wood though so you can attach the monitor to the wood and then the wood to the insides of cabinet using L brackets. Also if you go to Tulsa arcade website they are now selling recessed monitor kits for this mod.

    Where did you get the bezel graphic decal? I looked on etsy I couldn’t find it.

    • @FROSTINATOR
      @FROSTINATOR  Рік тому

      I asked a guy on etsy that does arcade graphics to make one for me. I gave him measurements. He was selling the entire bezel graphic design for the full sized original t2 arcade cabinet. I believe i left a link to his etsy store in the description area of my full review video of this cabinet's cosmetic mods. DBX graphics i think it's called. Ask him.

    • @FROSTINATOR
      @FROSTINATOR  11 місяців тому

      Not at all. With a larger screen set further back you'll still see everything just fine. I would like to put a 20" in but no where near doing that yet.

    • @MiamiLoco
      @MiamiLoco 2 роки тому +1

      @@FROSTINATOR since it's close to the back now, removing it from the case will give it more airflow

      @FROSTINATOR  2 роки тому +1

      @@MiamiLoco ahhh yes. Umm could remove it yes but I wouldn't want the pcb exposed i guess. That's why i cut the vent holes in the back for some air flow. Those metal casing collect most of the heat anyway.

    Very nice however that inner plexi needs to go and that black tape covering the frame looks very dyi…should just pull that out mask and paint it. Great job thanks for the inspiration.

    I want to do this to my T2 when I build it to make it more like the arcade. I also want to mount the guns higher somehow so that they face the screen instead of the bottom of the bezel. Maybe even make the guns swivel like the arcade. I'm looking for certain parts to do that. And paint the guns black.

    • @Hans_Lex
      @Hans_Lex Рік тому

      Nice creativity. Would be interesting if the guns could be mounted on some kind of pedestal(s) that raise them up and still function well still being that close to even a recessed monitor

    • @robkrasinski6217

      The guns work closer to the cabinet with the monitor moved back. The arcade guns weren't light guns, they were like big joysticks that moved a crosshair on the screen. I think AliExpress or something has guns like that.
