The "works in a drawer" clip brought back an old memory from my childhood. My father built a TV set from a kit (Heathkit, I think). It had the same drawer-access-to-main-circuit-board design. We ran that TV for a good number of years.
One of the first stops for my bachelor party in 93' was Dave and Busters (Dallas, TX). My best friend walked me up to the T2 cabinet (knowing it was my favorite), set down three stacks of quarters and said "have at it... more quarters are on the way." I loved that game. 80s and 90s... good times. Simpler times.
... Oh man wow! I remember playing the hell outta this game. inside a bowling alley near Yankees stadium, back when I was a kid. I wish there was a remaster/ remake version for current home consoles.
This was at the hype of the Terminator 2 man I loved this game, it was my 2nd movie I ever watched in the movie theater at the time as a kid back in 1991 my first movie in theaters was Tremors... The game was awesome in the arcades, NES game sucked but the arcade ports was decent... And of course love the pinball version as well one of my favorites along with Last Action Hero
One thing that's interesting which I've learned through the webpage of John Vogel (one of the designers of this game) was that the guns originally were going to have a switch that would let players stun innocent bystanders without fear of a penalty (not just that, but the guns had a different design than the ones which resembled the 40 watt range Phased Plasma Rifles from the movie). In addition, there were going to be some stages that scrolled forward like a racing game (which was inspired by the forward scrolling stages in Operation Thunderbolt, which Midway used as inspiration for T2). also, there are some videos of the animation tests done for the T-800 Endoskeletons.
You cannot always say 50/50. When the machine was ran by an operator with his own arcade he had 100% Love the video as always, especially the part where you put down Hantarex(es) XD
After a little over a decade of regret from selling my original T2 Cab, that regret finally came to an end this morning as I scored me another 💀 Lot of debate with the 1UP but at the end of the day, nothing beats an original, the sound of those guns with the built in lights, the feel of them not feeling like plastic toys with dangling wires, onscreen flashing damage effects & everything else that comes with it. Sure you can modify the 1UP cab but it's just not the same. Deal with the nearly 400lb cabinet which actually was a breeze for my buddy & I to move this time around as nothing against 1Up, they do a remarkable job but this one Terminates it 💪💀
tod good work but with out crt tubes being made and most gun games made for crt tubes not compatible with lcd monitor what does the future hold for these wonderful old gun games will some one ever come up with a solution so these old games can live on
I know of at least one company offering a gun that works with sensors that affix to the top and side of the display, but this is for use with Windows/emulators, unless it had some kind of software middleware to convert the IR/Gyro or whatever data it uses to the gun data these old arcade games expect, I don't think it would work with original arcade boards.
Guys, I’m not kidding you I just purchased a T2 off of a guy here in the Seattle area and I have the exact Terminator 2 Pinball section on the bottom of my unit as the one that Todd’s showing 🤯😱..... was this some sort of T2 Easter Egg thing? I re-watched the video and paused and the art is off just enough that it doesn’t appear to be the exact same cabinet.
TNT Amusements Inc before throwing games off buildings they seemed to think hmm going green saves money :P although cutting up a pinball cab. ouch but oh well. shoulda done it with all those bad Sega Star Trek games :P
I know there is a way to turn off the vibrating of the guns manually so Im guessing it would be done via the board that there is something to just pull out from the part that controls the machine guns or something like that
Great stuff.. loves all about terminator theme and stuff.. tonight though i saw a video from where lots of old arcade machines have been left after a school closed and the state they are in now.. check it out Todd! Baby pacman and tetris... looks like water really eats up.. and some vandals damage.. starts at 2:10.. da steve! Abandoned Sleighton School : Campbell Cottage
4 Years late.... BUT.... You can convert a Terminator 2 machine into a Revolution X 2 player machine. The Revolution X actually has a dip switch setting for it so arcades could upgrade their T2 machines into Rev X machines. I'm trying to do the reverse which is going to be fun :-D
Todd do you have any videos on the gun repair? I think this would be helpful. I just bought this game and the left side gun is all over the place even after calibrating Also the vibration from the gun is very weak.
i remember playing this as a kid in the 90s at my moms work. She worked at a college, i would get to play it in the rec room when she would take me to work on "take your child to work day". The Arcade1up cabinet is a disgrace and doesn't come close to the original.
I want one of those so bad what is the running price on a fully functional condition of cabinet does not matter to me because I can restore the cabinet
Hello Todd, Greetings from Los Angeles! I had two questions, that maybe you can answer.... 1) Has your team perfected the re-engineering of the gun coils on the T2 game, because I find no one who has the parts for the gun coil anymore, and if so does your team repair the T2 Guns? 2) What kind of paint does your team use fort the side panels, in specific to the deep blues as pictured in your video? Thank you!
Hi! We have to fashion new metal brackets using slingshot or pop bumper brackets. The guys have to cut them down to get them to work right and fit into the gun. We don't have time to do outside work anymore---we cannot keep up with our own sales! We buy paints from the local craft shops like Michaels or Joannes...and also, Home Depot sells Delta brand paint that Steven uses. Cabinet paint we get from Ace Hardware--their paint is really good, and get custom paint mixed from them for certain common games. Steven doesn't remember what paint he mixed for the colors of T2 video game...it more than likely was a custom mix he did.
but mine is damaged no image on the screen and make electrical noise.. if i remove the connector from PCB ,i listen the sound of the game and i can play
I just to play a simular game but without guns. Like a armygame and i rememeber there was like boxes with granades/weapons throwed at you sometimes when killing an enemy. it was like 5-6-7 differnt wievs with bosses. I don’t think I’ve ever played the game growing up but T2 is my favorite movie of all time! I’ve always wanted one of these!
I’m about to get me this arcade in Jan 2021, exited.
I loved that game back in the day!! Great vid
Brent Watier Thanks!
Todd -- you really have some great artists and pros at TNT -- Steven did an awesome job matching colors on that sideart!

Does anyone knows where i can buy from Europe a T2 cabinet? Thanks!
Below the backbox of my Party Zone pinball you can also see a strip of wood from Terminator 2, it seems the had a lot of those!
Neat! I guess T2 is turning up everywhere.

A lot of 90's Midway/Williams games had panels that came from other machines.

Mike C There is a fuse under the control panel for each of the guns that connects to the coil in the gun!
Hi Todd, is 11% markup common for the industry? I assumed it would be higher?
Is that a Worms screenshot used for the timetravel? I see a Holy Handgrenade :-)
Two separate clips on the internet---one homemade "arrival" scene that was quite clever, and the other an animated arrival scene!

LOL! That was THE most goofy intro I have ever seen! hahahahahaha.
Glad you liked it!
How nostalgic

Revolution X is an entirely different cabinet with diffeent guns....also a large fold up header!

Todd, I just picked up a T2 that in its day made a grand total of $1,218.00...talk about a bust!
John Johnston CLUNK!
Todd do you have any videos on the gun repair? I think this would be helpful. I just bought this game and the left side gun is all over the place even after calibrating Also the vibration from the gun is very weak.
We have not done one...take gun apart...clean lens, reheat the optic board...you actually may be missing the lens in the front
THE GERM did you ever figure this out?

i thought for one terrible moment, you were going to appear naked curled up next to the machine. ;-)
Now, now, now!
Great show, by the way.
Thanks!!
When i was a kid and played this, there were no lights on the guns as shown.
I want one of those so bad what is the running price on a fully functional condition of cabinet does not matter to me because I can restore the cabinet
One restored is $2499
Looking to replace my T2 power supply, any idea on which one works best for this game?
get one that is 15amps or higher.
@@tntamusements Thanks! Will do

hey Todd...any ideas why my GREEN LED's are not flashing on the guns? Red ones are
We have found cold solder connections on the little led board...but in this case, the transistor that flashes the green leds could be bad.
I have one can't get sound or guns to recoil everything else works
I like ur korny stuff in the video's, keep up the great work.. :D I learn a little bit abt hardware everytime I watch..
I love all of the korny jokes in the all the videos as well

That's true but it means the arcade had to purchase the machine first.
