What's your experience with GDKP runs? Do you like them, do you hate them?

Sr runs were fine in TBC, but over time they have become more retarded. Still better than ms>os. I think gdkp's used to be for shitter/dishonorable people, whom no one could stand in the raid. (Like that guy on his rogue in Booty Bay). Normal raids, that guy couldnt last long because social skills and being a reliable player may be involved. This was a real problem for the shitter, psycho rogue, but now with swiping coupled with gdkp, this guy can have his gear and feel exactly like an actual raider.
I just yell upstairs and ask mom to send me more gold. Mom is LOADED with gold.

At the moment I am just putting my effort on my main character when badges and replacing my gear. I just dont have the time for an alt gdkp run. Maybe when the buff comes out might change a bit
when the buff comes out that's when I'll really blast the gdkps. hc lich king should pay handsomely even a few months from now since so few people have killed it yet.
I got 3x 277IL items, 2 Sanctified 264 tier marks and my ring got upgraded from 268->277IL in yesterdays run. The cost? 30K, and I got 27K in cut as tank. This was a 80/20 split run.
that's incredible dennis. I bought tier 264 + 264 glove (failed hm on festergut rip). spent 13k got 16k. this is the way to go for raiding imo
@@NOHITJEROME I was in a guild a month ago or so, but I did alot of GDKPs on the side, I've got 9 characters to entertain on a weekly basis, so there's been a couple of runs. Some runs you get outbid, and some runs you just empty your pocket but come out of the raid so much stronger. I like being able to buy it rather than having luck rolling for it and losing week after week.
that is 100% the play. 9 characters is what I plan to have by cataclysm. I know more characters is always better in the gdkp meta. in the old meta of SR it made less sense to run so many characters since you weren't gaining much per run. now it makes a lot of sense@@dennispyxen7873

hi toni, you usually have to have some gold like 5k, but you don't need to actually spend it as long as you are doing your role solid-ly
20% host cut is kinda wild. I run my gdkps at 11% and bonus cuts to tanks heals and top 6 dps.
did you always run it that low? I feel like 20% was the standard in tbc
What server are you hosting this on? NA or EU?
when in doubt it's always EU for well run gdkps
I have to say in old wotlk,cata i see Auktion runs like 1 in 10 Weaks. And i played on full Server. The gdkp in this state now, is New. Gold in that numbers are new
it existed before but was not this common. now it must be 60%+ of the runs. i don't know why it took over like this, maybe because people have less time to play
Looks like my guild is disbanding. Should I GDKP or join another guild? I only have one main with about 10k gold. No time for alts or dungeon spamming for scourge stones.
if you have gear, gdkp. if you have gold, gdkp. you can probably save 400k right now for cata if you plan to play it. but if you want the real icc experience go with a guild

hi SAbaKV, I'm sorry you miss out on that experience. I do wish they had cross realm raiding at this point. it makes no sense that we have cross realm dungeons without cross realm raids

Leveled an alt right before p4 came out and dumped 15k on them. Huuuge mistakes made. Been sitting at 2-3k gold and crawling out of the dirt. Really hard to get into a gdkp with no gold, and mediocre gear even with 90+ parses
once you get out of that hole you are all set though. I would smash gammas and sell saronite. liquidate all the old items you can. get as much gold as you can and start the gdkp ball rolling

But how do I get into a GDKP as a fresh 80? Assuming I got gold but no gear
get BoEs on the AH (boot / belt at the very least), spam gamma until you hate it (at least 50+ gammas) - > buy 245 weapons, get 232 gear with the emblems of triumph you get for free. so now you have full 232 gear with 245 weapons. sell everything extra you got from the gammas (primordial saronite, emblems downgraded to epic gems) and try to get at least 10k. then you are all set

hi carlcast, i would put that as part of a bigger performance/raid progression video for sure. the logs are always hard to read, the trick that top guilds use is to analyze using a sheet like the "combat log analyzer" which makes things much easier to understand. ironforge pro had a log analyzer that was good for that too, also wowanalyzer
Anyone else overbooked on guild raids, so they cant join gdkps?
im overbooked on gdkps and i cant join guild runs. but d/w gdkps suck right now, 4k payouts for 2hr lol. still cool people to run with tho
4:03 5000 is nowhere near enough from what i’ve seen, in icc you’re looking at 20k -80k cuts. the cheapest gdkp i’ve seen on my server has a min bid of 3k for 264 items.
Edit: the cheapest i’ve ever seen dbw go for is 350k, best reason to join a gdkp is to spend with the money you get from your predicted cut, most leaders let you do this. it shows you are buying whilst not losing money. they will be more inclined to take you next time
cheapest gdkps are 3k min bid but you can walk out having spent nothing and still make 20k. right now gdkps are desperate for players.

We host a Semi Guild GDKP being 50:50 Random/Guildies, Min Bid per 277 Item is 20K, 264 is 10k, Last Tuesday Potsize was 1,2Mio Gold. Went home with a nice 38k Cut :)
Full Clear but only 8/12 HC
that's incredible, our last pot was about 400k. it's hard to balance success with buyers. feels like you can't afford any buyers right now or you can't do HMs
Can you do ICC gdkp just as a dps booster for gold multiple times a week after you have ID on it or just once a week?
just once a week but i also add in togc as well. this is why a lot of people make so many alts@@TheFamousExtreme
@@TheFamousExtreme Ive got 3 alts rotating them in GDKP and Guildruns as they are needed. Which is one of the many advantages of GDKP, just send the Gold to another Char and buy on that toon, other than Emblems e.g. Gold is way more convenient.

These numbers for gold to spend in raid are incredibly low for ICC, no way you are getting in with 20k budgets
depends imo since on faerlina people are more focused on raid success. it's not a world of pure buyers anymore like it was in old raids. clearing heroics = higher pots

best tip is to face away from the innkeeper first to save your position facing the door. also as druid you can HS under the floor in the inn to save a minute or two every day

Personal Loot
Introduced in Mists of Pandaria, Personal loot is the default for all group content. Under personal loot, the game chooses a number of players (based on group size) and awards them a random item for their spec, while everyone else receives an amount of gold specific to them. Mounts can also be won via this method from bosses that drop them. Like solo looting, the drops are retrieved by directly looting the corpse of the boss, with the chat logs showing who's won something. Loot from Personal Loot is tradeable to anyone in the group, as long as it is also not an ilvl upgrade for yourself.

gehennas is a different breed, on US we have a lot of pug gdkps with lower budgets. I guess we don't have as much raid success so the priority is getting competent high geared players over budget right now

i've done it many times. only issue si when it's later in the phase and people start expecting you to buy min bid stuff. actually easier early on to do this
@@NOHITJEROME also doesn't usually result in the best logs ☠️😂 so you can't really snowball into a better group until you build up the parses. Grayed on Sind last night bc i got let into an ice block with 0 HoT's:(
gdkp really is more efficient - if you build up gold in a "bad" gdkp for a few weeks then you can clean up full pieces and be 6k gearscore. then you can get the good logs and move on if you want to. my goal is to get a few upgrades each week so my characters remain desirable despite logs@@dyyylllaannn
@@NOHITJEROME very true and real i'm doing this rn on my main. 5825 and climbing 🤞 secured a 277 seal of many mouths for 22.5k and then got a 16k cut so not bad. looking to score a sanc token next week
5800 is already going to be enough to make infinite money the rest of wotlk. I have a 6200 resto druid in a guild right now and if it gets benched I know I'll be able to lock in 20k/week for the rest of the expansion. Though I do like having at least one character doing real prog raiding instead of just gdkp@@dyyylllaannn
5k gold minimum is a joke, the min budget is at least 20k if not more, and if you buy an item in the first run then you prob wasting like 15 o the whole 20k so you are not able to go any more gdpk, so starting without buying gold this point on the expension is not realistic. And you are spected to have nice logs, how u get logs with an alt char? well ok, u just dont have good logs if you are not on the gpdk grind since previus phases

hybrids can have lower budgets, there aren't really pure buyers these days. min bid for items in NM is 3k right now so 5k is possible. I've gotten into a gdkp with that budget recently and the togc ones are easy to get into with 5k. I guess having better gear outweighs the lack of gold depending on the group
depends on the group imo, not every group has insanely high requirements. the gdkp i'm in prioritizes success over gold. better to prioritize success than to prioritize buyers
@@NOHITJEROME The min-bid for 277 items are 30k in the gdkp runs I attend. If you tell them your budget is anywhere lower than 50k then you kinda get ignored. It is also one of the most serious GDKPs ive ever been in with deducts flying all over the place for even small mistakes. But thanks to the strict rules the quality is through the roof with 11/12 HC progress which is crazy for a GDKP.
@@tamasnagy9235 you know that's the way to do it to maximize pot size. but I don't love the super strict runs with the deducts. makes things more stressful even if you make 3x more gold most of the time

This is just me, but if you join a GDPK and you actually is not full bis as no one is not even close you should at least buy stuff.

I think you can get away with just buying 1 or 2 pieces though. Just like a tier piece or something nobody else wants. Let everyone else duke it out for the big name items and you grow your gear and gold
No thanks. Most of the GFKP organizers are gold sellers, so I'd rather not support scum like that.
