Whitney was amazing, it’s so hard to believe she’s gone! This was Dolly Parton’s song that Whitney sang with her unique vocals added. It was a song on both Whitney’s album and the soundtrack for a movie called “The Bodyguard” (starring Whitney Houston & Kevin Costner) where Whitney plays a famous singer (which she actually is) and Kevin Costner is her bodyguard. They spend so much time together and eventually fall in love. It was a great movie, Whitney & Kevin did an amazing job. RIP Whitney ❤️
WHITNEY HOUSTON is the REASON I WANTED to be a singer, since I was 8 years old!! Just a beautiful creature with a beautiful voice!! And I LOVE Muraham's reaction!! 💖💖 BLESSINGS!!
I love this version of the song! Whitney had such a beautiful voice. The reactions of the gentlemen in particular were wonderful. I don't think Parvati was really into it.
She appeared to have a negative reaction to Whitney even before she began singing. Whatever was going on inside her, it did not have to do with Whitney Houston.
I have determined that the lady reacting in this video is a stone cold assassin unmatched by any. If the Whitney high note has absolutely no effect on you in any way, you’re not to be messed with.
Peace be Upon You. I was surprised by Muharam's reaction to Whitney Huston being black. I would like to see their reaction to the realization that the USA is made up of people from all over the world. The original people are of the same color as the Pakistani's . We are described as a "melting pot" where all races and colors live together. I would like to see what their reaction is to that.
I love how Muharam said that she’s beautiful but she also sang beautiful. Oh Lord that woman left us too soon but she left us with some amazing music and vocals. Everybody who hears her, hears her beauty and can appreciate it. Whitney you are so missed and so loved.
You really took me on an emotional journey. I grew up listening to both dolly and whitney and ive watched this video 100's of times. I really took in your interpretation mr. Narrator! It was very nice to see through your heart.
I loved that you ran the song back and showed us all of them watching on the big "AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII...", thanks for that! And Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross were wonderful additions as we will always love them.
Adnan ,no words to say about your great work and narration Abdul Azeez is really an uncut -unpolished DIAMOND and now a days Parvathy seems to be distracted . muharam is always in high spirit and finally Adnan you took me back to my teenage memories through the song
I think it's really interesting - the difference between Parvati's reactions to the two men. I really loved what they had to say, especially Abdul, whom I feel felt this deeper then he could even express, because you can see how alight his eyes are after listening to it - he looks really happy. Muharam is, as always, appreciative of the beauty of the music and expressive with his opinion, which is a joy to hear. As for Parvati, I didn't think it was a bad thing that this didn't exactly appeal to her (despite how well-known and loved it it), to the contrary: it's a reminder that we all have out tastes and perhaps incentive to find the music that makes Parvati's eyes shine the way this one did for Abdul. :)
This is so great you're introducing them to Whitney Houston. She is indeed a treasure that is still missed. I think another great song from her that they would appreciate be "Greatest Love Of All". It has such a great meaning in it and transcends throughout time. May Whitney and her baby girl Bobbi Kristina rest in peace. Also love that Parvati is a bit of a Metalhead. It's awesome. She might like the band Evanescence. Amy Lee is the lead singer and has such an amazing voice. 😎👍
Omg when the guy at the top started singing along 😍 bless his ❤️ . The man with the beard, he is SO intelligent! He is very good at the way he explains everything, and with grace!
Lol, nice video. I especially loved Murharam hitting those high notes and then the music lesson from Abdul. It's cool Parvati, I prefer the metal to Whitney as well :)
Last Easter, my German/ Iranian/ American family was having lunch together when my 14 year- old nephew said he didn’t know who Whitney Houston was so we listened to this song and literally every single person out of three generations had to cry. Her voice was just unbelievable.
Despite what Parvati said she seemed to feel something at the main chorus, thought she was gonna love it for sure! Thank you for editing out things they'd deem offensive, cultural differences shouldnt stop them from hearing good music!
One of my top 5 favorite songs from my teen years. Her voice is magical and every time I hear this song I get chills. Do they get chills even though they don't hear it in their native language?
I can't hear this song without it making my eyes water, I don't know why. Enjoy your observations and analysis, nice thing about music it allows everyone to form their own opinion and express how they perceive it and how it makes them feel. It's fascinating how the same song from the same person played to the same group can evoke different thoughts, feelings, emotions, in different people. We all hear it together, but it affects us different in our own individual ways.
@@marklar7551 Not quite sure what you mean, but I've recently fallen down this youtube rabbit hole of "reaction" videos lately. I have been very entertained watching people see/hear acts for the first time (genuine or not) that I've know my whole life.
i want to see parvarti reacting to something that she has expertise in. or something that aligns more with her interests. i feel like she’d have so much more to share and to say if you found a topic she was passionate about. maybe have her react to traditional recipes from other countries or different child rearing techniques all over the world. i like to see her happy and smiling!
You have to understand women are also more marginalized in these communities, so she hasn’t been as exposed. I think she’s enjoying the experience, even if she’s not outwardly expressive, but she’s definitely engaged. Have you seen the video celebrating women’s day yet?
Yep, I remember Dolly Parton's original song of I Will Always Love You. My father in law still has the original vinyl record of the album Jolene with that song on there. He listens to it every so often. Powerful song, and Whitney Houston makes it even better in her cover version of the song. Makes me cry every time I hear it.
I personally prefer Dolly Parton's original... so authentic, sincere, and gentle. Not taking anything away from Whitney's talent or performance. She was a remarkable singer, and it is so sad the world lost such a beautiful voice.
I thank you for sharing these videos. I will honestly say: I am from Portugal and it is difficult for me to understand the people and the culture and the religion from so many countries that are in the wider Middle East. I am sorry, I don't intend to offend, I'm just starved for elements that I could learn from to help me learn. The world is a big place and I want to strive to understand people from all over the world. I will say to you: my favourite is the Japanese people and history, but I understand this is just one element - and humanity has MANY MORE! I wish there were not so many obstacles (between people across the globe), but I feel your work has brought us together in the search for mutual understanding - thank you.
I agree with Mr. Abdul. I LOVE lyrics. Even if I find a tune catchy, the lyrics tend to be the most important to me 99% of the time. I am glad you put Mr. Rogers in there so as not to make them feel uncomfortable and therefore taken them away from appreciating her voice. It's definitely a universal song as far as its meaning and I loved how much it was appreciated (and that Adnan couldn't help but sing along ^_^) If they wanted to hear more of her, a song they would enjoy the meaning to might be "When You Believe" with Whitney and Mariah Carey, two of our great powerhouses. Thank you for another stellar reaction video.
Yet you didn't mention that it was written and recorded two decades earlier by Dolly Parton. Hmm, guess diversuty just goes one way? Dolly wrote and sang the song about leaving her longtime mentor and boss Porter Wagoner's show which had made her famous to begin with. He didn't want her to leave the show and was a little upset with her, but showing the class act she has always been, she wrote him this farewell song. That is what the song was about. Give credit to where it belongs.
"Are those earrings made out of gold?" (I found this funny it being the first thing that he noticed!). He is very intelligent and it is plain to see that although hearing a song in a completely different language, he recognises the 'mastery' of an individual and their craft. That being the late and great Whitney Houston. I remember watching her funeral service on tv, and this playing has her casket was carried out of the church. It had me and my husband in tears. Whitney witnessing the enormity, popularity that this song had brought, due to her re-recording it to her production and vocals...but never knowing the significance that it would truly play after her unfortunate death. R.I.P Whitney.
Thank you for these videos, Please tell all of them my up most respect and good wishes for all of you, I love seeing their point of view about what we like over here. And special salutations to Mr Abdul, who seems to be a very kind and wise man, best of wishes for him and his loved ones.
So many of these comments are about the beauty of Whitney's voice and that cannot be denied but the beauty of this video is the interaction between people who have had no exposure to this beautiful music and their innate understanding of it, their ability to relate their poetry with music of the West. The people in the video are unbelievably beautiful!
Whitney Houston had a truly God given talent. The tragedy of her life is cautionary. She had a voice that could light up a stadium but her relationship with her husband and drugs took her away too soon. Her Mom has quite a voice as well. This song, written and originally sung by Dolly Parton, is practically a signature song for Whitney. It showcases her range and ability. Whitney's voice, for me, still stands out as exemplary in a world today flooded with babblers.
As someone who is black and travels internationally, I have received that same reaction of people being skeptical or surprised when I say I’m American. There are still a lot of people in the word who think USA = white although my ancestry goes back to colonial days and there are a lot of white Americans whose ancestors didn’t come over until the late 1800s/early 1900s. 9:30 - “bittersweet” (when talking about something that is not food) also has more of a meaning of “happy and sad” at the same time. One memory can be “bittersweet” in that makes you both happy AND sad all together, like the emotions are mixing together. Maybe you had a wonderful time with someone, but you didn’t know it was the last time you were going to see them. So in your memory, the moment is “bittersweet,” because the memory is a happy AND a sad one, all together. It can mean “good” memories and “bad” memories, but it mostly is talking about the same memory, not two different ones. Memories with complex emotions, even contradictory emotions, mixed together and tied to it.
I'm not sure how the other 2 people could sit there with no reaction... Even when she hit those high notes! I was sitting here with chill bumps and tears in my eyes...and feel the same way Every time I hear Whitney sing this song.
yes please, and explain to them more fully that she wrote it as a tribute and appreciation to porter wagoner when she was leaving his show. it was not a romantic relationship, but he had given her a start on regular tv, and she became great, more than him actually, and it came time to spread her wings. he was quite annoyed about it at the time, but dolly was right. she appreciated him and what he had done for her, but now it was time for her to leave, like a daughter leaving a parent. it doesn't mean they don't value the support given. on the contrary, they do.

I know this video is supposed to be about Whitney and this song, but I just have to say that their reaction to seeing Mr. Rogers punched me right in the heart and made me instantly start crying like a baby! I absolutely adored Mr. Rogers! I haven't seen the video where they reacted to seeing him for the first time, but I loved seeing the instant joy they had when they recognized him and spoke about him. I could tell that when they reacted to him the first time, they obviously got what he was all about and felt what all of us who grew up watching him felt...and it stuck with them. It just proves how amazing he truly was! I just found your channel, but I have subscribed and will be watching all of your videos old and new!
My mother worked for Mr. Rogers and said he was just as kind and gentle off camera as on. No false personality for the cameras. R.I.P., Fred Rogers.
Love Whitney Houston’s version of this song. I would love to see them react to how America has many different races, religions, and languages.
I hope you all are doing well after the natural disasters happening in your country. Stay safe ❤

This is amazing. The men felt it immediately. The woman did not but she is very young. Wonderful to see how music can break through any barrier - even the languages. 🙏❤

She's a hater, smh.
Again, Abdul Sir makes a salient point before the song even starts. When Adan said people sometimes misunderstood the lyrics to a song, his response was "they should find value in those". Then, when asked about the lighting in the background of the video, he perfectly explained why they were diffused. He "saw" in her face what the song was saying. Sir, you never cease to amaze me, and you offer me an option that I may not have thought of myself. Thank you for sharing yourself.
Wow. The lights metaphor as memories, I never thought about. Thank you for that, friend.
Neither did I ever, it just came out there instantly when I was with Abdul. Later sharing my thoughts with Parvati
Whitney was for reason called The Voice. She was incredible.
Indeed!!!
She should have married the other "Voice," Steve Perry, and started a superhuman singing lineage.
I feel like I need Abdul as my life coach, he has so much natural higher wisdom. They are all great people, and thank you for taking the time to make these videos for us and also taking the time to teach them about American culture etc. ✌🏻 & ❤️
This video was so soooo popular, you couldn't get away from this song no matter where you went. Whitney is an icon.

This was beautiful. I love that the guy in the top corner states singing along. And the other guy felt the message so beautifully... we miss you Whitney
Great job, Adnan! Your editing was excellent and maybe even added to the song! Even though some people grew up, they will always love Mr. Rogers, and take his lessons with them into their lives!

The dude in the red vest felt the beauty of Whitney's voice.
I was so confused when mr. Rogers popped up. Very respectful to change the visuals for the reactors. Thank you.

Whitney owns this song. Even if Dolly wrote it. She sings it beautifully
This is Whitneys song….she sang it better than dolly
@@diorrboyyyy No one is saying that, just acknowledging where it came from Dolly does a great job, a DIFFERENT way is all.
Hmm, I feel the same about Parvati unfortunately. Abdul is stationary as well while listening to it. But his reviews in the end prove differently.
@@frankenstein5386 I noticed that too, she seemed anxious or upset....I hope everything is okay at home.
@David Hall raging for her voice and independence for sure, that's what metal's backbone is to me
She appeared to have a negative reaction to Whitney even before she began singing. Whatever was going on inside her, it did not have to do with Whitney Houston.
I definitely felt she was a hater based on her expressions, answers, and reactions. I've never seen anyone react to The VOICE like that EVER. Ijs
I have never heard a voice like hers. Iconic!
The grandfather, he understands about the importance of the vocalizations in the beauty of the song. I found that to be so very touching.
I love the people you have reacting. Precious, precious, people💕
I have determined that the lady reacting in this video is a stone cold assassin unmatched by any.
If the Whitney high note has absolutely no effect on you in any way, you’re not to be messed with.
Two great women, Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston. Beautiful lyrics from Dolly. Powerful voice from Whitney. Outstanding song that doesn't age.
No. Whitney did it better.

There are newer videos that explore this. I think you will appreciate how the Ustads react when this is brought to their attention.
Thank you Judy, we all try to give a new meaning to music here through the differences in our cultures, languages, etc. Music unites us all ❤️
I loved that you ran the song back and showed us all of them watching on the big "AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII...", thanks for that! And Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross were wonderful additions as we will always love them.
Adnan ,no words to say about your great work and narration
Abdul Azeez is really an uncut -unpolished DIAMOND
and now a days Parvathy seems to be distracted .
muharam is always in high spirit
and finally Adnan you took me back to my teenage memories through the song
The lady here to me really didn't care for the song. She looks so dry in the face and her response.
And that's her opinion to not care it's not everyone's taste
@@maggiemccauslin1084 True that and a lot of people just don't have any TASTE.
This is the reaction I didn't know I needed!!! Thank you for sharing. I genuinely appreciate their insights and opinions.
Whitney gives me big chills. Dolly makes me cry with chills. Dolly's Coat Of Many Colors makes me cry with crying. ✌
That's the Dolly song to play for them. The themes are cross cultural and universal.
Last Easter, my German/ Iranian/ American family was having lunch together when my 14 year- old nephew said he didn’t know who Whitney Houston was so we listened to this song and literally every single person out of three generations had to cry. Her voice was just unbelievable.

One of my top 5 favorite songs from my teen years. Her voice is magical and every time I hear this song I get chills. Do they get chills even though they don't hear it in their native language?
This music is unmatched nobody can sing this like her until today I still feel all type of emotions 💐💜❤️such a blessing to experience her voice 💐💜
Watching someone hear it for the first time doesn't help, does it?
@@marklar7551 Not quite sure what you mean, but I've recently fallen down this youtube rabbit hole of "reaction" videos lately. I have been very entertained watching people see/hear acts for the first time (genuine or not) that I've know my whole life.
i want to see parvarti reacting to something that she has expertise in. or something that aligns more with her interests. i feel like she’d have so much more to share and to say if you found a topic she was passionate about. maybe have her react to traditional recipes from other countries or different child rearing techniques all over the world. i like to see her happy and smiling!
I agree! 💝
Great and thoughtful suggestion.

Good idea!

The one describing it to them is doing a fantastic job. He really understands everything about her voice and this video. Well done sir 👏 👏👏
Best singer of my time IMO.
He DID say that at the start of the video.. Maybe you didn't read the subtitles!
This song always makes me cry no matter how many times I hear it…I get goosebumps.😢
The wife said she like the yellow on Parvati.
It makes her glow.
11:39 😂😂😂😂 we’ve all tried to hit that note!! That’s so good!!! 😂😂😂😂
I love Muharam's expressions and I totally agree with him when he says "I love when a song has a lesson in it". Love his energy!
@0:54 I cry in my heart as well sir ❤️
What a beautiful description of that
As someone who is black and travels internationally, I have received that same reaction of people being skeptical or surprised when I say I’m American. There are still a lot of people in the word who think USA = white although my ancestry goes back to colonial days and there are a lot of white Americans whose ancestors didn’t come over until the late 1800s/early 1900s. So please don’t think all of us are Anglo Saxon looking types. Thanks

I wonder how they would react to Dolly Parton’s version.🌸
Not a version....The original
yes please, and explain to them more fully that she wrote it as a tribute and appreciation to porter wagoner when she was leaving his show. it was not a romantic relationship, but he had given her a start on regular tv, and she became great, more than him actually, and it came time to spread her wings. he was quite annoyed about it at the time, but dolly was right. she appreciated him and what he had done for her, but now it was time for her to leave, like a daughter leaving a parent. it doesn't mean they don't value the support given. on the contrary, they do.
