Its true though. It seems rhythm is a big part of black or african culture. Many blacks sound like they are rapping even when they are talking about weather. There is some inbuilt rhythm in your DNA.

Not only dancing. In my opinion, they are the most talented people in the world. Dancing, singing, playing an instrument, in the sports etc.
Technically, I know that all people are the same, but they are better at pretty much everything, but for some reason "we" have treated them as inferior throughout human history.
When I was a teenager, a Nigerian told me I danced like a black person, and it made my day. I've since learned that that was a lie.

As an Indian kid who grew up in the 2000s, I knew nothing about western culture or celebrities except for Michael Jackson. The people here were indifferent to western culture/music, but somehow everybody knew one name "Michael Jackson". When MJ died he received tributes from the entire Bollywood industry, which is very rare for them to do for someone outside the industry. He's often considered here to be the greatest dancer of all time & his dance moves have been ripped off wholesale by Bollywood acts ever since. He has Influenced plenty of Indian musicians, choreographers & actors.
Michael Jackson's global Influence is unmatched, the greatest entertainer of all time!!

Michael Jackson simultaneously seemed to be black, white, masculine, feminine, and everything in between. It's kind of cool how many different cultures still enjoy his talent. Truly he was and will remain the King of Pop.

I saw a video of an Amazon tribe, they had not heard of the moon landing, but the only foreigner they ever heard of was Michael Jackson.
They haven’t heard of the moon walk, but they’ve heard of the Moonwalk lol
Was watching this as they were watching him and I was mesmerized and ive watched Michael for almost 50 years he still makes me hold my breath a little like a magic thing if that makes any sense.

Michael Jackson's name is steadily moving from legendary status to mythological status. I heard about Beethoven as a kid but never knew who he was or what he had done. The same is now happening with Michael Jackson only on a bigger scale and in a shorter period of time. Even isolated tribes in the Amazons could recognize Michael Jackson in a French documentary while they knew nothing else of the modern world.

From legendary to mythological, omg yes I've said this too! I remember the first couple times when my young son watched MJ performances/videos, he asked me if MJ was even real! And hubby, though he's not a big fan, can appreciate MJ's talent - while watching Smooth Criminal short film he said it's not fair other artists get compared to MJ because "just look at him!"

Michel Jackson has immortalized himself as one of the greatest entertainers in history. His songs, his dancing, he invented the moon walk if I remember. As long as music exists, he will also live on in a way.

Cab Calloway was one of the first to also do a version the moonwalk, or “the buzz” as he was known to call it, back in the 50s or early 60s I believe. Not as perfect or smooth as MJ but it’s something you don’t ever see in others filmed performances during his time.
To add to@@warrenjim46, It was called the "Backslide" in the 1970's and Michael learned it from one of the Soul Train (TV Show) Dancers, specifically JEFFREY DANIEL who was one of his dance teachers and also sang in the R&B group Shalimar. Did you notice that smile which brings to their face while seeing the video. That's exactly the difference between MJ and other artists videos. He brings a sense of happiness through his songs, dance and videos. I'm 40+ and i feel like a kid again while watching him. So much of excitement and smile automatically appears.

Many people mistakenly credit Michael Jackson as "inventing" the so called "moon dance".
In an interview when the reporter gave him credit for it, MJ was quick to correct him. He explained that he learned it from someone else. He also directed the reporter to watch an older 1950's movie called "Cabin In The Sky". A movie musical that featured many black actors, one of which performed this very move, which Black people used to call the "Backwards Slide". This dance was nothing new for black performers.
As word has it, Jeffrey Daniels, a black singer/dancer/ choreographer taught MJ how to do it.
Credit MJ for making it more popular and making it more mainstream.
I love Shalama, however as far as am concern Michael did his iconic Moondance that will ever remain in the history books now amd forever 💙

It's even older than the 1950s. The Nicholas Brothers did it in the '40s and it was known to them from performers before them.

The fact remains that MJ is the most popular artist to have ever lived, in my village they are children of 4-5 years that still knows this man, even though they were born years after his death. Pure and true talent makes history. MJ will never be forgotten for years to come
I believe Michael Jackson would love this. Not just his music being introduced to people who don't know it or not know it well, but everything else that these tribal Pakistani people are being introduced to. That's why I like these videos because I am being introduced to their culture as they are being introduced to mine. We are only in this world for a finite time, so I like watching different cultures and people. It helps to enrich my experience in this world. I only wish I had the ability to do it in real life but that's why I can use social media platforms. It may not be in person but that doesn't mean it's still not enjoyable to watch.
I remember reading that many people in Africa didn't know the name of their President but they knew Michael Jackson. One of the greatest of our kind.

This is the first time I heard it. They always said his white skin is because of plastic surgery, but now Im not so sure anymore. I don't what's real now, it pisses me off.
Vitiligo is common in Asian and black people, my mother has it and I know several others. Everything they accused him of was lies, except for few plastic surgeries to change his face from looking like his father’s. Michael was unique and now lie detector analysis proved he was telling the truth about allegations Re child abuse. He was too innocent for this world, miss him dearly and pray he is in peace now. I grew up listening to him, worked part time after school to buy his album , thriller and still have it. So pleased they all loved his performance and gave him respect he deserved.
Even white people get vitiligo, I knew one who has vitiligo, the skin just goes pale white in places. It's quite easy to tell cause the pale white spots and blotches look quite unnatural. Even for people that are white.

I know everyone have their own taste for music, and some on cultural bias, but that they were this accepting of the legendary Michael Jackson was really cool. You guys should give US a taste of their stuff also (what they listen, what they eat, how their daily live goes).

As a black American, I love watching them react to our culture and influence. These people are beautiful 😍 what they said about him was more beautiful than what American has ever said. When you live a life, regardless of many imperfections, that can bring joy to people in the far reaches of the world over time it means something. Not many people have that power. Also, the guy saying he’ll pray for his soul was really sweet!

He is universal. He was truly a gift from God. Someone really smart once said that "He sings like an angel and dances like a demon." I have always loved his art and always will.
By the way I am a life long hard core punk rock guy and always will be. This goes to show how universal some phenomena are. He was for ALL of us and h transcended color, sex, hell - ANYTHING which would divide us became united in him. In spite of his inner issues and demons, I feel as if Jesus himself touched this man.

I clicked on this thinking 'yeah, I'll watch a reaction to MJ, I got some time to kill, why not?' Song starts, a giant grin covers my face, my eyes become all teary and my body just won't stop moving... jacked the headphone volume up to 100 and cursed Michael for being legendary.
I'm not even a giant fan of his music, I definitely appreciate it, but I can't say I live and breathe it like some people do, yet it still manages to do this for me.
this was my exact reaction to this video. I was laughing and crying at the same time. Seeing them describe what they were feeling as they watched him dance is the most satisfying thing I've seen today.

This is exactly me and why I've stopped fighting against calling myself a fan. Anytime I've watched this man perform or even just played his songs, I'm full of tears, smiles, excitement, and dance(!). I don't want to like him because I've always found him weird, but man, his talent is undeniable. No other artist moves me like that.

As a Michael Jackson fan for over 35 years this brought tears to my eyes❣️ to the man that noticed the sparkle in Michael's eyes I could not have said it better myself. And to the uncle who thinks he's too heavy to dance I encourage him to turn on Billie Jean and try and practice that moonwalk because Michael would have loved it ❣️

As an old MJ's fan i can tell you that step is probably taken from a tribal dance from Ivory coast . The dance is named Zaouli. I advice you To take a look. The dance is incridibly sporty and the dancer seems To fly when he does the moonwalk. MJ seems To be a pale shadow comparing to'him , and i'm an MJ's Big Fan! But i'm able to be realistic 😁
The comment in regards to the "computer" in Michael Jackson's brain was so insightful. It's really easy for people who are outside the world of entertainment to forget just how hard it is to memorize an entire performance to that degree of perfection. RiP Michael Jackson. There will probably never be another performer with the gifts and skills you had.

Michael was a creative genius. I actually think the fact that he was quite an eccentric character actually AIDED his success hugely because it meant that he wasn't afraid to step outside the box creatively and do something different.

When he first did the Moonwalk and it caused a sensation, my brother and I were quite little (3 & 5 years old or so), and we used to practice for hours in our socks on the kitchen floor. Never could get it right, but that's because we didn't understand the trick to the visual illusion! It was so fun to try, though! And please tell Mohammad that you are never too heavy to dance!

At 3:06 I was looking at the lady and Michael and a core memory hit me. Michael said he loved Indians, especially the dark women, because they were the most beautiful people he had ever seen.
