  • TODAY I AM ASKING THE QUESTION, IS THE DIFFICULT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE A NARCISSIST?
I WAS READING A BOOK TITLED, DISARMING THE NARCISSIST - SURVIVING AND THRIVING WITH THE SELF-ABSORBED. IT IS WRITTEN BY THERAPIST WENDY BEHARY AND SHE ASKS THE QUESTIONS:
DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO ONLY THINKS OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR OWN NEEDS? SOMEONE WHO IS INTIMIDATING AND VERY ARROGANT? SOMEONE WHO LACKS EMPATHY OR EXHIBITS AN INFLATED SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT? ARE YOU RELATED TO ONE, MARRIED TO ONE, OR DO YOU HAVE ONE AS A FRIEND, COWORKER OR BOSS? AND OF COURSE THE BIGGER QUESTION IS, HOW CAN YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE OF THEIR ARROGANT BEHAVIOR?
IT HAS ONLY BEEN IN RECENT YEARS THAT THE TERM NARCISSISM HAS COME INTO FOCUS AS THE BEHAVIOR OF CELEBRITIES, REALITY STARS, SPORTS SUPERSTARS AND POLITICIANS HAS BEEN SWIRLING IN THE SPOTLIGHT AS THEIR SELF-SERVING LIFESTYLES AND ATTITUDES OF ENTITLEMENT HAVE BEEN THE TOPIC OF MANY NEWS STORIES AND ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS.
MY GUEST IS AUTHOR AND THERAPIST WENDY BEHARY, LCSW SHE HAS WRITTEN THE BOOK DISARMING THE NARCISSIST AND SHE IS HERE TO SHARE SOME POWERFUL STRATEGIES FOR DEALING WITH THE NARCISSIST IN YOUR LIFE.
    BIO:
WENDY T. BEHARY, LCSW, IS FOUNDER AND CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF THE COGNITIVE THERAPY CENTER OF NEW JERSEY AND THE NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE FOR SCHEMA THERAPY. SHE MAINTAINS A PRIVATE PRACTICE, SPECIALIZING IN NARCISSISM AND HIGH CONFLICT COUPLES THERAPY.

Good video -But Who wants to make a grown person change behavior and Love you the way you deserve .... They are aware of the loss and leverage you may have but in all my 8 yrs of dealing with my narcissist I have done and shown enough empathy for him to the point that I was empty ... I feel now its best to leave before I lose any possible future with a person that I do not have to ask to change and just simply protect a relationship ... This not a relationship if both do not work and who the hell wants to ask there partner please do not hurt me .

ok he lost his job and drivers license the only thing he has to lose is his secretary, slave and servant AKA..me and I did say he would lose that if he didnt get counseling and I already contacted a counselor I thought would work for him and said I would go to counselor too after telling me I need it. I said I need it now!!..so ball is in his court. In the mean time, I will planning my life without him..

a geat deal of us know what one acts like...But they hurt people so maybe teaching people to understand them and show them attention is crazy. shouldn't you be teaching how to deal with them or protect themselves from one. narrsists are not victims.

    You are WRONG.
'That person' did NOT "seemingly disappear".
    He NEVER EXISTED.
The deception was DELIBERATE - a choice.
If you don't understand this point, I have no desire to read or hear another word here.
And if you think you have ever seen real change in a person with NPD, then you are either deceived or a poor diagnostician - or both.
