    NEARLY ONE IN FIVE AMERICANS HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SOME FORM OF ANXIETY DISORDER. THESE RANGE FROM PANIC ATTACKS AND POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER TO SOCIAL PHOBIAS, OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDERS, AND GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDERS.
    ANXIETY IS AN EMOTION THAT EVERYONE EXPERIENCES FROM TIME TO TIME. AS LONG AS YOU ARE ALIVE YOU WILL HAVE FEARS, IN FACT, WITHOUT OUR FEARS WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SURVIVE. BUT SOME OF US GET MORE ANXIOUS THAN OTHERS AND IF IT GOES UNCHECKED IT CAN BEGIN TO RUN YOUR LIFE.
    WHEN ANXIETY BECOMES SO OVERWHELMING THAT IT INTERFERES WITH YOUR DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES AND KEEPS YOU FROM GOING PLACES OR FROM DOING THINGS YOU NEED TO DO -- THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO SEEK HELP.

    WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT ANXIETY AND HOW WE CAN GET CAUGHT IN NEGATIVE, FEAR-BASED IDEAS - AND HOW WE CAN BREAK FREE. MANY PEOPLE GIVE UP ON THEIR DREAMS DUE TO SELF-DOUBT AND FEAR, BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY. HOW TO MOVE PAST OLD PATTERNS AND MOVE INTO WAYS THAT HELP YOU GET UNSTUCK.

    Notes: Anxiety is fear, but anxiety is normal. Anxiety is symptoms you feel threatened, wake up you need to get ready. But when some of us become so overwhelming we can not function in our day to day, how do we move past these old patterns and overcome overwhelming anxiety. Diagnostic criteria: cognitive behavior therapy? Strategies to use to help you...experimental approach? Therapies/different approaches to try out on different people, different things help different people. Our wiring? Life experiences, trauma and abuse, sometimes people who are trying to be in control of everything they can, are actually causing themselves to become more anxious, creating increasing fear of experiences because of feeling they won't be able to handle something, need coping skills. Help to learn you can't be in control of everything, when you understand it's ok, don't overthink things replay things should a woulda could a.
    How can you stop overthinking, what are things you normally overthink, replaying things (ruminating) I should have done this or that, or this or that might happen...
    Stop self criticizing. Refocus, distract yourself, comforting thoughts. Be more conscious to work on things ahead of times, so the times you are anxious isn't the time to problem solve, get down on self,
    How to turn your negative thinking...what is compassionate talk? Process, use some of the positive self affirmations and music on you tube or MP3 player.
    Positive thinking, doesn't always work, to just say I'm just going to think positive.., instead think through preparation for what I can do if....what could go right? What could go wrong? What can I do if such and so happens that usually causes me anxiety? Have a plan.
    See Our fears as a message instead of a weakness...choose strategies like nutrition, exercise, slow breathing, decrease heart rate, what helps you cope?
    Behavioral coping skills ? Emotional coping skills?
    Cognitive coping skills? What's the worst that could happen, best? What's the most likely?
    Take a word trigger word repeat it 3 times as fast as you can, it then loses its meaning after so many times...
    Keep trying things, different things can be part of your tool kit, keep practicing what strategies work best. If something stops working, change to something different. Develop your favorite strategies. A big part of Anxiety is the urge to run away from something. Imagery of what worries you, admit fear, use picture if what it is, like the words it loses its power over you. Talk with someone about it when you feel anxious. What is something that helps that you can share with people in your life, that they might can help you.
    When people put things off. Avoidance. Avoiding things you really don't want to do, but also even things you really want to do. It can destroy your confidence, by putting off things avoiding things, it makes it worse.
    Test anxiety, interview anxiety, failing, rejection...go over statistics...people feeling the same, what's the worst thing that can happen? The best? The most likely? Play the what if game... The What if so and so happened?
    What is something you've been avoiding? What things are you avoiding that your anxiety is keeping you from that you can decide one thing at a time to do even though they have been avoiding, with each thing on your list, you can gain confidence and become less anxious, conquering your anxiety by your getting through these things.
    Change saying to yourself, I should of...down on yourself..
    The purpose of fear is a message to help us. There is a part of me that is fearful or anxious, not all of me. Just my notes listening! : )

    If you shaking and can't sleep. If you have physical pain from anxiety ....go to doctor fast
